Anne Beate (9/5): All in all I absolutely recommend staying here. It is not just a stay but an experience you will not easily forget. - The staff at check in was friendly, helpful and anticipating one’s needs. The traditional room was spacious and clean. It felt welcoming and comfortable. The few into the garden was a delight. One really good feature were the ho baths I was lucky and had them to myself more often then not. Breakfast is delicious and filling - again impeccable service and helpful staff even for nine Japanese speaking guests. The dinner I had was exquisit: tasty, diverse, plentiful and beautifully arranged. Speaking from a 175cm 75 kg sidesleeper point of few: the futon could be a little thicker. ☺️

hong yian (9/5): - The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The male staff at reception could speak good English and answer my queries. The rest of the staff although could not speak English as well as him, they tried their best in communication and using translate tools. The room were quiet and warm enough at night for me to enjoy 2 night of good sleep. I went to the outdoor onsen. I would say quite nice and could fit in at most 5-6 at the same time, but when I was there, only 2 lady and me. Not too crowded. Sometimes no one else was there, so I was able to enjoy by myself. The breakfast and dinner was in a individual cubicle and have all the privacy to myself. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and i am always so full after eating. Thank you, azuma-so.

?? (10/5): - 特別室を利用しました。室内に露天風呂と檜のお風呂があります。館内には無料のドリンクラウンジと漫画が読めるスペースもあります。皆さんの人柄も良く、朝と夕飯がとても美味しく、食べきれないくらいの品数で驚き、感動しました。味付けも良かったです。非日常気分が充分に味わえる宿でした。リピートしたいです。

Anna (10/5): - Es ist ein wunderschönes Hotel, mit ästhetisch eingerichtetem japanischen Hotelzimmer (mit Tatamiboden), Möglichkeit für die Buchung eines privaten Onsen (als Paar sehr praktisch), ausgezeichnetem japanischen Frühstück in semi-privatem Raum (wer es authentisch mag) und sehr ruhiger, sauberer Lage. In Fussnähe viele gute Restaurants, z.B. um Soba-Nudeln aus der Region zu geniessen. Das Personal ist äusserst freundlich, organisierte uns einen gratis Shuttle zum Bahnhof und spricht zum Teil auch Englisch. Die Hauskatze kommt zwischendurch zum Kuscheln in der Lounge vorbei. In der Lounge gibt es gratis Kaffee, Saft und Tee. Nichts, es war alles perfekt. Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel!

?? (10/5): - 2歳と6歳の子どもと宿泊をしましたが、子ども向けの設備や配慮が非常に整っており良い意味でびっくりしました。例えば、食事処の私たちの名前の表記が平仮名になっており始めは何故かなと感じたのですが、子どもがいたので読めるように配慮して平仮名だったのかな思いました。子どもも自分たちの名前を見つけることが出来て喜んでいたので素晴らしい配慮だったと感じました。その他、くつろぎスペースや露天風呂なども非常に質が良く久しぶりに素晴らしい宿に巡り会えました！

Daniela (9/5): Lights from the smoking area - The outdoor onsen was beautiful. The amenities and decoration inside the hotel were creative and many extra options given in the lounge area. It was a very pleasant stay. One small downside about the room I stayed in (located next to the outdoors smoking area) was the light that was shining bright and inside the room. I suggest dimming or turning the lights off just as the rest of the garden to improve the quality of sleep. Another alternative would be to provide blinds for the windows next to this smoking area. Other than this, the stay was perfect.

Natasha (10/5): Really amazing experience to immerse yourself in the Japanese culture. - I loved that they had designated times that you could interact with the property manager (which was a cat). I also really enjoyed the traditional Japanese experience, my room felt like I was walking into an olden day Japanese castle. The dining experience was also exceptional. It felt very homey and overall was an amazing experience worth the price paid. The sweet treat I wanted to purchase from the gift shop was out of stock because it is so popular, that was the only thing I disliked (of course that was out of their control so I’m not mad).

Verified traveler (8/5): 花笠まつりの後に泊まりにきました！ - クルマで25分ほど離れた山形市内での花笠まつりを見てから、午後9時を少しまわってのチェックインでした。フロントの対応も親切で、駐車の誘導も適切でした。大浴場と露天風呂がありますが、離れているので両方に同時に入ることはできません。露天風呂がおススメです。洗い場もついており、露天風呂だけで事足ります。部屋は本館の広めの部屋にグレードアップしてもらっていたようです。部屋はやや古く、襖は擦れていましたが、それを除けば、手入れの良さや工夫が感じられます。部屋は庭に面していて快適です。バリアフリーには対応されていません。。外国人の客も何組かいましたが、皆さん物静かな方で、声高に話すような方はいませんでした。和風旅館の良さは保たれていました。旅館のあちこちに生花が飾られており、おもてなしの心を感じました。朝食だけついたプランでしたので、夕方のことはわかりませんが、朝食はキレイに盛られていて、爽やかに朝をスタートすることができました。土地柄でしょうか、やや塩味濃いめでしたが、美味しかったです。ねこ女将はいませんでした。

Gary (10/5): Very satisfying and Cat Lover - We stayed here for a night to continue our Journey from Akita to Tendo, Yamagata. As soon as we enter the parking lot, a staff came to provide assistance for parking and the bags. Excellent reception who used a translation device to make sure we understood everything. There were two hot spring faculties, the open air was interesting with the bath/shower area also outside. Water temperature was extremely hot. Room was very spacious and lovely dinner and breakfast. The owner appears to be a cat lover with many interesting display of cats figurines. And a really cute cat roaming around and friendly with people.
