Guest Reviews
- Joanie (10/5): - Chambre spacieuse et silencieuse, on a beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Mon copain n'a pas aimé le matelas, mais moi j'ai très bien dormi
- Sarah (10/5): - My friend and I had a great stay. Excellent access to public transport, clean and quiet room, comfortable beds, great breakfast, easy check in and out.
- patrick (10/5): - Accessibility to walking, beautiful park nearby, close to public transit
- Margaret (10/5): - Extremely accommodating
- Jahina (10/5): - The room had a very nice window looking out to the beautiful Amsterdam scenery.
The breakfast was really good, healthy options, fresh eggs, vegetables and chia seed pudding. Only missing a coffee machine with alternative milk! Only had cow-milk option.
Room was clean but always had dust, for some reason after they clean, there is still dust.
Room does not have a fridge so you cant keep anything you buy in the fridge. And they should clean the shower better, little black spots on the ceiling from the water.
Overall very nice room for 2 people, just need a better cleaning service.
- Manmeet (10/5): - Had a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly, and the property was clean throughout.
- Diana (8/5): - Pros:
Big room
Great AC
Close to bus
Cons:
Not as close to tourist spots. About 30 min walk.
Check in was easy. We got there about two hours early and they were nice enough to let us into our room. You can start the chicken process via link they sent you before arriving.
The room: ours had three twin beds. The down comforter was perfect. The beds were a little firm. They all had an outlet near the bed and a light. The room has an electric kettle. They provide tea and coffee.
The bathroom: nice and modern. The water always ran perfect temperature. They do have shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. There is a blow dryer available.
If you’re in the lobby between 5-6pm, you can get a complimentary glass of wine.
Everything is about a 30-40 min walk except for Vondelpark that is only a few minutes away.
- Tiffany D.W (6/5): - Hotel itself was nice but the staff did not seem pleasant. I don’t know if it was because I’m black or American but I didn’t feel welcomed at all. The hotel was quiet and I felt very safe walking the streets of Amsterdam. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- Gavin (8/5): - Lovely & friendly staff. Room was very clean and provided the essentials. I wished the TV had non-Dutch channels though. The area is convenient somewhat, slightly further out of the city centre, but nothing a tram ride can’t sort out (30mins away from Amsterdam Centraal station) The area has a variety of food options, but a lot aren’t open in the morning.
- Susan (10/5): - I loved that the hotel was eco conscious and it’s in a great location close to transit and Vondelpark.
- Caroline (10/5): - Great air conditioning and lovely and quiet.
- Fahim (10/5): - Nice place, really close to the tram and vondel park. Exactly what you need to explore the city.
- Marie (8/5): - Very comfortable rooms and very clean. Super location easy to walk to the centre.
- Anna (8/5): - The room was very spacious and clean, the location was great for walking to Vondelpark and surrounding restaurants, cafes, museums. Would definitely stay again!
- Thomas (10/5): - Being situated right next to such a large park makes for a lovely walk into central Amsterdam, and the plentiful restaurants nearby give great food options. The staff were very helpful, and we can highly recommend.
- Linda Christine (6/5): - Didn’t like the fact that although our flight was cancelled just giving us two hours notice meaning we missed one nights stay in only 3 booked and they refused to compensate us as they need 48 hrs notice!!!!!
- Hillary (10/5): - My second stay and definitely not my last!
- Kellie (10/5): - A nice location outside of the hustle and bustle and conveniently located by Vondelpark. Nice facilities, staff, and an excellent breakfast!
- Niamh (10/5): - Easy access to vondelpark and good location for transportation
- Darryl (10/5): - The location of the hotel was good. Easy to get to it via train/tram or Uber from the airport. While we did not have a good view out the window due to the room location, the room itself was extremely quiet and peaceful for resting. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We rented bikes from the hotel and it was very easy to get to VondelPark. We would definitely stay here again on our future trips to Amsterdam as long as the pricing remains reasonable. :-)
- Christopher (10/5): - Unpretentious hotel, with some quwerky elements.
- Joanne (10/5): - Parking was great, 20 min walk into city. Nice cafe downstairs.
- James (10/5): - Nice, large room, and convenient to the tram. Lots of dining options nearby, and Vondelpark is close by for a pleasant stroll.
- Duyen (10/5): - Hotel doesn’t have free wa
- Rhian (8/5): - It was a twin room with one wooden chair which is ridiculous. There should be a comfortable chair as well as a bed for each guest in a room. That's as basic as it gets!
- Evan (10/5): - Excellent location next to Vondelpark, Fabulous breakfasts!! Room was ok but got warm at night.
- Donna (8/5): - I liked the proximity to Vondelpark. It was great for an evening or early morning walk, lots of birds to see and listen to during my walks.
- Joan (10/5): - i
- LINNETTE JOHN ANGELO CANDY (6/5): - Nothing unique. The hotel displayed a board in reception for breakfast, lunch and dinner..not so only breakfast!! The bathroom shower space was very confined and water drained out around the sink and toilet.
- Dean (10/5): - Lovely hotel out of the bustle of the centre but great transport links in. A short walk from Vondelpark. Very clean, large room with all you need. Cafe downstairs is great. Would highly recommend it.
- Robert (10/5): - Really nice and clean hotel. Further out from the city centre but had close Tram stops nearby.
- Francesca (10/5): - Se torneremo ad Amsterdam sicuramente sceglieremo di nuovo questo hotel. Comodo a tutti i mezzi, nuovo, pulito, camere spaziose e ottima scelta per la colazione. Personale molto gentile e disponibile
- Amirhossein (10/5): - Excellent choice if you don't want to overpay for a hotel near the city center. Clean, minimal and eco-friendly rooms, friendly staff and well-maintained facilities made our stay very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again!
- Kimberly (10/5): - The space was comfortable and right on the transit line to Central Station. There’s a lovely coffee shop adjacent to the hotel which was a great place to hangout while we waited for our room. We appreciated being able to check in early as well.
- Emil (10/5): - Nice place
- Tim (8/5): Pretty good all in all. But not stellar. - Staff in lobby was always great. T was combo lobby and coffee shop. Nice touch. Locations was good also. Room a tad worn out/dirty but not a floral breaker. I’d have liked updated plugs/lamps for modern electronics and better pillows but all in all it was fine.
- Iain (10/5): Eco lovely - Fab hotel. Lovely staff
- Kelly (10/5): Excellent - This was our second time staying at the hotel. It was wonderful. Service is excellent (early check in by about 3 hours, free of charge) and luggage storage on departure day. Excellent location right opposite tram stop. Highly recommended.
- Julie (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at The Tire Station. Check in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly. We got breakfast included and we were very impressed with the options provided. Gluten free bread was available on the day and we just had to ask someone. The hotel is in a really good location with around a 15 mins tram from central Amsterdam/ Amsterdam Central Station. Vondelpark is also a walk away and then you can either walk to the museums or again it’s an easy tram ride from the hotel. As other reviews say you have a kettle with tea and coffee in your room and there isn’t any milk or a fridge to store it but we didn’t find this to be an issue. I would really recommend staying here!
- Ellia (8/5): - Nice cafe and shop in reception
- Graham (10/5): - Great base from which to explore Amsterdam
- Bennett (10/5): - Close to thw park, and 20 min away from amsterdam central
- Douglas Hongkee (10/5): - It felt like a Wework of hotels. I was OK with it. But it may not be for everyone. The breakfast spread was great!
- Nora (10/5): - Great location just around the corner from Vondelpark, feels close to the city center but is quiet and more peaceful! Super kind and helpful staff, very nice facilities. Something to note is that this hotel has elevators, not common for Amsterdam and would be helpful for people with mobility issues!
- Danielle Denai (10/5): - My partner and I booked 7 nights! Room service was provided everyday and exceptional. The staff was friendly and welcoming!! Highly recommend!!
- Michele (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Loved the bed. Slept extremely well. Close to the tram. Easy to get around. Helpful staff.
- caroline (10/5): - Very nice and friendly staff
- Libia (8/5): - Walkable to several tram stops. The restaurant and coffee shop downstairs were nice, and there are several bars, restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Very close to the beautiful Vondel Park.
- TyDon (10/5): - Staff is very friendly and make amazing matcha lattes!
- Ben (10/5): Comfy, friendly and convenient - Rooms were clean, hotel makes a genuine effort to be eco conscious but that is optional. Staff were very friendly and the coffee was a great option in the morning, also a lovely bar to have a drink in the evenings.
Definitely would stay again as it's also pretty well connected via tram and bus!
- Afryl (10/5): - Good location. Lovely staff. Amazing ethos.
- Alec (10/5): - Delightful place with lovely staff and good sized rooms. Great location right next to Vondelpark and a mile walk from the downtown area. Would highly recommend.
- Syema (6/5): - Decent hotel, however we got a room without any view, just a wall outside our window. The A/C kept turning on after an hour of turning it off so we’d wake up feeling cold. The bed is was comfortable and the shower was nice. The location was perfect for us as it was a quiet neighbourhood near the park.
- alexander (6/5): - Nothing to like, my room on the 1st floor with windows to the wall.
No spot to place my luggage
- ANTONIO (10/5): - Located next to Vondelarpk and with excellent bike rental service, this hotel is perfectly placed to reach the museum district vi` the most pleasant bike ride through the park.
Staff are super nice, coffee is great and the hotel is modern. Rooms are excellent and showers perfect.
A great restaurant on the ground floor is linked too.
Highly recommended!
- Milan (10/5): - The hotel was so unique and cute, staff was always so helpful especially with storing our luggage after checkout!
- Jennifer (8/5): - Nothing fancy, but very convenient and safe. Since it’s not in the heart of Amsterdam, it’s a little quieter, but still extremely close to public transportation to get anywhere in the Netherlands quickly. Also nice to have the bar and cafe right below you and cute neighborhood around you, including Vondelpark.
- Samantha (8/5): - A lovely eco hotel which was spotless, and all staff were friendly and helpful. A minor issue with the room upon check in but they moved us to another room straight away with the offer of complimentary breakfast the next morning. The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms spacious with a nice walk in shower. Only half an hour away from the airport and half hour walk through the park to the centre.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Easy to check in, good location due to excellent transportation in Amsterdam
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel, comfortable and friendly staff. A little noisy with the tram and dark in the desk area as not enough lighting for work. Good location for my needs (being near a friend’s house).
- Cortney (10/5): - Clean, and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! Great neighborhood and really friendly staff
- Mika (10/5): - Good
- Keith (10/5): - The hotel was really nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to someone visiting Amsterdam.
- Joseph (10/5): - I spent two very pleasant weeks at The Tire Station. What particularly impressed me was the hotel reception staff – especially - Tessa, Milou, Lisa, and Dananai. It was their combination of friendliness, helpfulness, energy, professionalism, and effectiveness – among the best I have ever seen in decades of staying at hotels in many countries. Tessa and Dananai were invaluable in helping me with a medical emergency I experienced when I suffered a nasty fall in the street. Tessa called a local hospital and stayed on the phone on hold through 25 calls ahead of her until she could connect me to a medical professional. She then got a cab to take me to the hospital. She picked a perfect hospital. Milou and Lisa were exceptionally helpful with dining recommendations and reservations.
My room had a nice view of the Schinkel River. The bed in my room was very, very comfortable. The one thing I did not care for in the room was the chair. It was uncomfortable for relaxing and reading. It was more like a punishment for a misbehaving child.
The hotel is not in the most exciting area. However, it is only a 5-minute walk from two tram stations, which are part of the great Amsterdam public transportation system. I took at least two trams a day and as many as eight, plus the metro and the ferries. I could easily get anywhere I wanted. The hotel is also only a two-block walk from the wonderful Vondel Park.
I found a nice breakfast place at Toasty Lunchroom – about a 5-minute walk.
- Brian (10/5): - Excellent all round
- Alyssa (10/5): - Very nice hotel, convenient location with some nice dining options around!
- Heather (10/5): - This is a great, fun hotel that is delightfully eco-conscious. We like the location next to the park but close to good transportation. We stayed in a triple : quite a big room by European standards. I found the staff delightful in the room, very clean.
- Edwin (8/5): - Clean bed and minimally furnished, just enough for a traveller.
The only thing I would suggest is to clean the room and replenish towels per the tags posted. We arrived late and needed to sleep in only to have someone knocking on the door. Towels were left on the bed instead of putting in the bathroom.
Wine tasting hour, staff was not so friendly… so we only tried once.
- Cristina (10/5): - Everything great
- Danika (10/5): - My mom and I came to stay for five nights - even though the hotel isn't right in the center of the city, we loved the access to Vondelpark and thought the transport links worked well. There weren't many frills but everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff was mostly helpful especially with luggage storage! Would stay again when visiting Amsterdam.
- Laura Marie (10/5): - We had such a great stay at this small eco-friendly, people-friendly hotel. It is clean and comfortable-not fancy but very friendly and fun. The hotel is located at the southwest entrance to the Vondelpark which makes walking or biking to the old city and Rijksmuseum so easy and pleasant. There are also 2 tram stops a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of places nearby to eat or stop in and have a drink. We were very happy with our choice of hotels and will stay at The Tire Station again when we come back to Amsterdam.
- Joanne L (10/5): My Favorite Hotel in Amstedam!!! - It was a great pleasure to be able to stay at the Conscious Hotel - The Tire Station. This was my second visit and it will be my to go to place for all my business trips to Amsterdam. I love the beautiful design, the amazing staff and the location.
- Saskia (10/5): - Great stay at the tire station, fantastic staff and a lovely area outside of the city centre. Easy transport via tram into the centre.
- Rachel (10/5): - I booked this hotel for a friend and I who were staying a couple nights. I booked the room with two twin beds, I wasn’t extremely excited sleeping right by my friend (that’s what the two twin bed option showed), but I know him well enough that I thought oh well it’ll be OK. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got our room and the twin beds were practically separated from each other and in other rooms (the room was shaped like an L one bed was when you walked in and one was around the corner). I’m saying this in case you want to call the hotel and ask if that double twin room is specifically available so you don’t have to sleep right next to someone if you don’t want to. For those people who aren’t sure, the bathroom in our room was in a totally separate and had a door. The room had no view. But that’s not why we chose the room, it was very well priced and close to the tram. The room was also very clean. There was a kettle so you could make tea or coffee. There was a small area to store and hang some things, and ample hooks on the walls. The staff was super nice and super friendly. They have a really cute area where you can get a glass of wine or coffee. There’s also a small shop with a few necessaries and souvenirs. For the money and cleanliness, this is hard to beat. It will take about 10 minutes by tram to get to downtown Amsterdam proper, but that tram ran constantly. There’s a really great Indian/nepali restaurant in walking distance called Annapurna.
- Raymond (8/5): First time in Amsterdam. - No ice bucket in the room. But ce was available in the lobby on request. The city tax was not the same each day; increased daily by a small amount?
Would have been nice if there were information about the city available in the lobby.
- Raymond (8/5): First time in Amsterdam. - No ice bucket in the room. But ce was available in the lobby on request. The city tax was not the same each day; increased daily by a small amount?
Would have been nice if there were information about the city available in the lobby.
- antonio (10/5): - Increible lugar, muy tranquilo y modernos, reservamos este lugar de ultimo momomento y la verdad fue una gran experiencia, la habitacion super amplia y el personal increiblemente amable.
- Stephanie (4/5): - It’s a hostal in a sundress. Nothing special, rooms felt cold and unwelcoming, no amenities, the staff was the best part. Won’t stay there again
- Hazel (10/5): - Amazing stay in the perfect location. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was big enough and very comfortable with lovely cleaning staff who provided us with clean towels everyday.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended. - Superb hotel, especially at the price. Great vibe, decor, staff and breakfast.
Minor improvement would've been somewhere to hang clothing - an alcove without a bar and hangars felt like an unfinished detail. Would've been more annoying if I had to live out of a suitcase for more than the 1 night I stayed.
- Floria (10/5): - The staff is always very helpful and friendly whenever I stay at the Conscious locations. Rooms are small but in ideal locations near transit. Will stay again.
- MARINA (8/5): - We booked last minute after desperately searching for a decently priced hotel in Amsterdam. Hotel exceeded expectations in this respect, as it was very nicely organised, lovely deco, clean, spacious, mostly friendly and helpful staff. Location was very nice (next to the park, with options for food/supermarket/transport), and even though it was quite far out from the city center we did not feel it, as we rented bikes from the hotel (very sturdy and good quality) making our stay even more pleasant. We would definitely recommend, and likely would stay there again in a next visit.
- Bruce (8/5): - Nice clean, comfortable hotel in a good location in Amsterdam
- Ellisha (10/5): - Perfect location and very clean, thanks for a great stay
- Hisae (8/5): - I like the location of this hotel
- Joel Gutierrez (10/5): - Excellent location, good options for transportation and dining. good rooms with a coffee shop at the reception.
- Scarlett (10/5): - The hotel was in a great location with lots of tram links to get to the centre. There are lots of quant restaurants and eateries near that serve lovely food and are within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel shop is open all night which is useful. Staff are friendly and the room and bathroom were very clean. Over all it was lovely and we had a great stay.
- Jose (10/5): - Great location - NOT in the THICK of Tourist BUZZ but still very close enough to everything and still have peaceful local vibes . Everything is amazing, good beds, good cleaning, good rooms good staff. Nice decos.
Very satisfied.
- Marcy (10/5): - We loved staying at the Conscious Hotel Tire Station. We had planned to rent bikes but it rained quite a bit while we were there. It was fun watching people ride their bikes along the canal in front of the hotel and public transportation was just a couple blocks away, mostly under a covered walkway. We loved it!
- Joanne (10/5): Great new hip hotel! It is a must! - I loved my last minute stay at the Tire Station location Conscious Hotel. The hotel is brand new, very clean, very hip and modern as well. The staff is wonderful, they are the best part, along with the good showers. The location is central, but thankfully away from the business a few blocks north. I will definitely be back!
- Sonya (8/5): - Very basic hotel. No frills. Lighting in room was poor. Nothing to set suitcase on. No iron. Was very clean. Staff very friendly.
- Mike (10/5): - Great stay! Comfortable beds, good location, amazing coffee downstairs.
- John (10/5): - Super friendly with safe place to park our bicycles. In a great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy and convenient - It took me a while to figure out the train/metro/tram system, but once I got it down, I found the place to be very conveniently located. I really enjoyed the hotel and its decor. Very comfortable and spacious room and bed.
One caveat was that during one of the nights, I was rudely awakened at 1am by screeching tram wheels. I think they were transporting a defective tram somewheres on one of the few lines that traverses across the street from the hotel. Maybe you want to ask for a room in the back and not the ones facing the front of the building to avoid hearing screechy tram noises.
- PR (10/5): Good stay at the Tire Station, Amsterdam. - I had a great time staying at the Tire Station. Room was fabulous ..... and SO quiet at night. Fell asleep really quickly.
Also, coming home in the early hours one morning, and the foyer cafe was open (24/7 seemingly), so I got a flat white and a big piece of apple pie to take to my room. Fab!
Super hotel. Just a short tram ride away from central station. Definitely stay again.
- Fay (8/5): - I had a lovely stay. How ever I needed a hotel close to the station and it was not as close as indicated in the description, this proved really inconvenient. Staff were friendly and always available. The food was nicely prepared with fresh healthy options
- PAIGE (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay and everything was so convenient. The breakfast was a great start to the day and we will definitely return to stay again.
- Nefide (6/5): - Wall view rooms, no light inside but 200€ per night.
- Jane (10/5): - The hotel is very near to the park, adding an easy respite for nature and a wonderful walk to museums and downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super modern and clean but no fridge - One of the best budget hotels within touching distance of the city centre. When I say touching distance, I hired a bike to get me past Vondelpark and close enough to the action, locked up the bike, then enjoyed the canals and museums etc. If you were to walk in every day it might be a stretch. Room was clean, everything was modern, I only have two small complaints: 1. I made a special request for a quiet room and they put me next to a young family of four. 2. There's no fridge. A fridge would have been the icing on the cake, other than that it was a really nice hotel with very welcoming staff and a nice cafe on the ground floor where you can grab a quick snack before heading out.
