Guest Reviews
- Jayne (10/5): Comfortable and most welcomingđ - The welcome was warm and friendly and the room was large and well appointed. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and served by Helen. The owners were lovely and couldnât do enough for us. We were even given a parting gift. We will be back and I cannot recommend this place more highly. Better than May hotels. Absolutely nothing!
- Louisa (8/5): Great little hotel - Great little hotel and lovely team running it. We had a big room with a big bathroom.

- Michelle (10/5): A beautiful 'gem' superb hotel and staff . - We had a wonderful stay at this superb hotel over the bank holiday weekend. The staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming, they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and enjoy our stay . It is spotlessly clean, bed was super comfy ,room spacious and bright with a view down to the sea. Breakfast here is exceptional, good quality, plenty and delicious . The bar is well stocked and lounge is lovely. Nice little touches, pretty cups and saucers in the bedroom ,tea, coffee, chocolate! We had our 2 dogs with us and all the staff were very accommodating, even helped with our bags, not many places do that !! Plenty of free parking and a lovely garden that we enjoyed sitting in. Location is,fantastic, literally an 8 min walk down to the harbour where you'll find plenty to see and do. Beacons cove is just behind the harbour at the end a lovely cove dog friendly all year round, our dogs loved the sea dip and you can find shade by the cliff if needed . I am so happy we found this hotel and cant recommend enough , you won't be disappointed! They also do afternoon tea, and deals on 3 night stays where you get 4 free off peak season !! Im stunned and we certainly will visit again and look forward to seeing the wonderful people who make this place a real gem . Thank you to you all xx
- Deborah (2/5): Great facilities but lousy PR - Lovely room and great GF breakfast options Other residents woke us at 4:15am. and kept us awake until morning. It was uncertain who was in charge or had the authority to deal with this issue. No one seemed to be onsite to deal with the noisy residents

The food was delicious.
A lovely few days away and would defiantly stay there againđ

A Truly Wonderful Stay at Robin Hill Hotel, Torquay
From the moment we arrived at the Robin Hill Hotel, we knew we were in for a special experience. Nestled in the charming seaside town of Torquay, this boutique hotel exudes warmth, elegance, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. Having read numerous excellent reviews beforehand, we had high expectationsâand I am delighted to say that Robin Hill far exceeded them.
Warm Welcome and Exceptional Hospitality
The hospitality at Robin Hill is truly second to none. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, whose genuine warmth and professionalism immediately put us at ease. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with staff members providing us with helpful local tips and recommendations for exploring Torquay and its surroundings. Throughout our stay, every staff member displayed a sincere desire to ensure we had a memorable experience, always ready with a friendly smile and helpful advice.
Beautiful and Comfortable Rooms
Our room was simply stunningâtastefully decorated with a blend of classic and contemporary touches that created a cozy yet stylish ambiance. The bed was incredibly comfortable, offering restful nights after days spent exploring the area. The room was impeccably clean (not enough to write more)
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - An absolutely amazing guest house, the rooms are beautiful and clean , they have the most wonderful breakfast menu and the food is absolutely stunning. The staff are so welcoming and very attentive to your needs , we would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone wanting a great stay in Torquay Nothing
- Driver (10/5): Exceptional - The super friendly jolly welcome. So many lovely little extras- lovely good quality bathroom products, little treats for the kids, fabulous breakfast, super comfy super clean. Little flags in our meals! Nothing, highly recommend.
- Roger (10/5): Excellent stay with lovely, welcoming staff. - Lovely, friendly staff who were very welcoming. Full English. Breakfast cooked to order was spot on. Will be back when in the area next. Nothing.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hotel with on site parking Nothing
- Mark (10/5): We stayed for four nights and it was a good base for doing some of the South West Coastal path. - The hotel was well situated with plenty of parking. Erica, the host, was so lovely and welcoming and couldnât do enough for us. Our bedroom was a very good size, clean and well equipped with toiletries and extra treats. Ginny, our dog, received a sausage at breakfast and was made a fuss of. Erica even gave us sandwiches and water bottles to take on our walks - without us even asking. A lovely hotel.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house, with thoughtful touches provided by our host to make our stay special. Nothing
- Richard (10/5): I would go back again and again - Ericka, the proprietor, could not have made our stay more pleasurable. This property is beautiful as is, but the care and concern she showed us (we booked two separate rooms) was amazing. The cooked breakfast was excellent as well. This is a place that makes walking in to town easy or you could just sit in one of the outdoor spaces and admire the garden.
- Mark (9/5): Lovely B & B with excellent staff and breakfasts -
- Vishwajit (10/5): - Excellent
- Alison (10/5): So friendly and welcoming you donât want to leave! - A beautiful building in a great location. Everything from the warm welcome to the room, breakfast and for being so dog friendly. Everything was great!
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent all round. - We were met by Erica on arrival who was most helpful and welcoming during our stay. Hotel was very clean and tidy, in a great location. Would definitely return and recommend for anyone visiting Torquay.

- Claire (8/5): Very good - Welcoming & quaint Further to walk to beach than expected
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Great location, room was clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and breakfast was superb. Room was a bit small for our needs as we believed we had booked a deluxe room.
- Cath (9/5): We would definitely stay here again. A great find. - Excellent location; clean and comfortable.
Lovely colourful garden; hanging flower baskets.
Erica was superb. Parking on site can be tricky.
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, room high standard. Weren't allowed to leave the dog in the room without us other than to go down for breakfast, which we have always done in previous dog friendly hotels without any issues. Unfortunately this wasn't an option here.
- Sharon (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay the staff were very friendly and inviting. - Erica was a brilliant host and was very friendly and attentive to our breakfast needs. The breakfast was delicious. I felt more choice for kids breakfast could have been offered. The hotel was homely and cosy, although an old building. The cleanliness of the shower was slightly disappointing.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Osman (10/5): Wonderful! Highly recommended - It was a great experience for us since everything was perfect. The manager, Erica was extremely helpful and friendly which made our experience even better.
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely hotel and fabulous host, Erica. - Lovely old character property. Once you get over the steep driveway youâll be welcomed with a delightful smile and a warm welcome. Our room was lovely and had a drinks fridge, which was a bonus as I like fresh milk in my morning coffee and I did not see that listed on the itinerary. The en-suite was lovely and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the free treats too. Breakfast (full English đ)was generous and well cooked and presented. More tea and toast offered too if you wanted. Nice walk into the town a bit of a climb to come back but super close to everything. Bus stop very close literally the bottom of the driveway. We would definitely stay again xx Thank you Erica x The driveway is narrow and steep.
- Alan (10/5): - Host was very attentive and helpful! Very clean and comfortable.
Shower in our room was fairly small, but useable!
Parking a bonus in Torquay.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Excellent Stay. - Excellent stay. Would definitely come back. Brilliant breakfast and hospitality.
- Sau (9/5): Having a great time in this beautiful apartment, nice hostess - Lovely and stunning apartmentâ€ïž

The location is near the town(5-10mins) disabled may not friendly
- Frank (7/5): Good - Internet access interrupted and slow
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff..lovely breakfast. The parking is a bit tricky..
- Martina (9/5): Superb - Our stay was lovely and clean. Location was good
- Lindsay (10/5): perfection and would stay again no problem. - Our family room was very spacious very clean and very comfortable. Location was amazing and Erica was so friendly and helpful and extremely welcoming. Her daughter was also so friendly and nice. Breakfast was faultless. Staff were really friendly would definitely stay here again. Lovely seating area outside with lovely views. Free bottles and water and snacks for the kids is a great additional. The only thing, which is very minor is that when we flushed to toilet in our room it was quite noisey but only lasted a small amount of time.
- Judith (9/5): if we were in Torquay again, we would choose to stay again. - location was ideal, staff were great, breakfast was lovely, room was very pleasant.
- Peter (10/5): Very caring staff - We had a wonderful two days stay at Robin Hill Hotel. It was made even better by the lovely, attentive staff, Erica and Jessica.
Thank you for looking after us so well.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (8/5): Very pleasant stay, Jessica was lovely and went the extra mile. - We were greeted by Jessica, who presented us with a small bottle of wine on arrival, and took our order for the mornings breakfast. Then when we checked out, she presented us with a small gift and a postcard written in Chinese and translated to English, she also presented us with a chinese bookmark. She was a very happy helpful lady. The room was quite small, and the shower was very small, but could not have been made any bigger.
- Daniel (9/5): Charming and convenient hotel, in a great location - We were upgraded to an even larger room than we had requested, so we had plenty of space. Beds were comfy and the facilities were excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning. Staff was helpful and friendly throughout. Particularly impressive was the guest information booklet, which contained answers to seemingly every possible question about both the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood! The wi-fi was spotty, sometimes running slowly, sometimes not working at all for a few minutes at a time.
- Carole (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Hotel was very nicely
presented with soft furnishings etc.. room was a lovely size with a large bed. Lovely towels. Lots of extras in the room...free snacks. Breakfast was very good. Staff couldn'ât do enough for you...free WiFi. Free dog stay.
Only slight fault was the tv in our room. Was too low and didnt seem safely secured to the wall.
Would definitely return.
- Andy (9/5): Great value stay in Torquay - Really comfortable and well appointed. Generous room with nice range of snacks and drinks. Very friendly staff Better quality sausages would be the only additional ask.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional - Hotel, service, breakfast, location Nothing
- Antony (10/5): Wonderful Robin hill hotel - Jessica was really welcoming and had a lovely reception check in, hotel/B&B is beautiful, bedroom on point and very comedy bed with extra little touchâs in the room, highly recommended
Antony
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hotel beautiful decorative order friendly staff who made us feel very welcome
- Teresa (10/5): Spectacular stay in this beautiful hotel. - So clean everywhere looked like the whole place had just had a spring clean! Lovely attention to detail from the beautiful china cups and golden teaspoons on the will appointed tea/coffee tray in our room to the gorgeous bathroom products. Wonderful comfy bed with super white clean sheets. The breakfast was perfect, just the right amount and well cooked. Staff were super friendly and made us very welcome. Thereâs a lovely small lounge with a bar and TV which is very comfortable and well appointed. The hotel architecture is Beautiful inside. All round a spectacular stay and would highly recommend. Also not to far to walk to the quayside and the shops. Quite a steep but short walk from their car park to the front door and steps up leading to the door. Not ideal for elderly who are not steady on their feet or disabled folks. Itâs part of the character of the house.
- Christine (10/5): 6/5 star stay, would recommend if youâre in Torquay - Comfortable with great staff who couldnât do enough for us.

Staff very attentive and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Rooms very clean and well furnished. Would highly recommend. Lovely old building with original features.liked the China cups and saucers with little gold spoons in the room!! Nice touch. On a hill. Lots of stairs to second floor so not ideal for those with limited mobility. Easier access to first floor rooms at the top of a grand staircase.

The sumptuous breakfast.
The overall comfort and homeliness. The tight parking.
The stairs (only because we had lots of cases)
- Sandra (9/5): Excellent service and location. - Beautiful quaint building. Loved all of the hanging baskets. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Breakfast was wonderful. Great location. There was a musty odor in the bathroom. Note that the parking is on a steep hill so it proved to be a bit of a challenge for us Americans.
