• Bernadette (10/5): - Enjoyed the shuffleboard and the fire pit. If we had another day we would enjoy Horseshoes and Cornhole. The staff is extremely nice. Place in clean in rooms and grounds. Fire pits have a started bucket and all that is needed. The flowers and color full Adirondack chairs really add to the comfortable atmosphere. We will certainly be back !!!! A must stay location a few miles away from the beaches. Great place!!!

• eileen (10/5): Great motel close to Charleston beach. - What a quaint, family oriented place. Everything you need, close to everything, very clean, very safe. Plus dog, friendly! Just a heads up; the website says $35 per day is the fee for a dog. I got charged $40 per day, which is a big difference.

• Lisa (8/5): A gem of a place! - We loved the place--modern, attractive, well-kept, clean and comfortable (except for the coffee table), and the grounds were beautiful and obviously well-cared-for. We had a unit with a kitchenette, and it was well-equipped with pots and pans, dishes, etc. It even had a washer and dryer! We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Five stars!

Our room is all modern and up todate....a small ice machine is provided in the room with a coffee machine, microwave and mini fridge...outaide is a very clean pool, sandbox, bikes, basketball hoop and a huge firepit area with adarondack chairs which we enjoy sitting around and chatting with other guests....a great night stay and will definitely be back!!!!

First, the room was icy cold when we walked in - someone had thoughtfully put on the AC before we arrived so it would be comfortable. Everything was brand new - new paint, new large Fridge, new towels, etc -- and very clean. The property has a nice pool, plus shuffleboard, large grassy area, a volleyball net and a great fire pit area. Our villa/room had its own large tree and 2 chairs to lounge in, plus a picnic table. We had a great time. Thanks Phil & Ann!

• Seamus (10/5): - Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Don't be fooled by the low rates. This is a seriously nice motel. Staff was gracious yet not intrusive. Grounds and rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated. Plenty of fun things to do on the property. My two year-old loved the massive sandbox. Beautiful fire pit which I did not get a chance to try. Even the other guests were decent and pleasant. If you want an affordable stay without the pain of a fleabag motel, then Phil and Anne's is your go to destination.

• Katie (8/5): Motel with everything you need - A good basic option in an expensive area. Comfortable motel style rooms. Pool in season. Fire pits which one of the owners lit for us to enjoy. Friendly owner checked us in - I didn’t see a reception. Gave us lots of area recommendations. We stayed out of season and there were two weekly residents so not really a holiday vibe, but probably will be different over the summer. Recommend for short stay to see the area.

• Timothy (10/5): - The room was very clean and appeared to have been fairly recently redone. In room ice maker was super convenient. Large walk-in shower was very nice. Because it's off-season, the office isn't staffed but there's phone coverage in the event of any questions.

• Ann Marie (10/5): - Contactless check in, just called when we got there. Rooms are small but very tidy and comfortable. Keurig and individual ice maker in the room. My room had a very roomy shower, no tub, so very easy to get in and out of.

• Peter (10/5): A clean and updated property - First time on my 3-month roadtrip that I stayed at such a small hotel. Not surprising, but my unit was a little small compared to what I'm used to. However, it was very clean, appointed very well and seemed recently updated. Although I didn't have any further need to speak with anyone after checking in on the phone, some might feel the need for having an agent on the property.

• Catherine (10/5): Fun stay at Phil & Anns Sunset Motel - Phil & Anns Sunset Motel was the perfect place for us to stay while enjoying the Rhythm & Roots music festival in Charlestown, RI. The room had everything we needed, and was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor games were just what we needed for fun! Badminton, Shuffleboard, the warm swimming pool, a cozy outdoor patio to enjoy morning coffee. We will definitely be back!

Our only slight disappointment was that our beds weren't fixed when we left for the day. We thought maybe because we left them to neat? The kindly hostess recommended The Cove restaurant right down the street. Thank you! The service was great. The food was excellent. We went there twice. It was surprisingly quiet too. We couldn't hear anything from the other rooms...like water running,etc. Like I said in the beginning: no complaints. We were very pleased with the whole experience.

The room was spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed, such as a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Easy access to many local attractions such as beaches, restaurants, etc. We would love to return for another visit!

• ROBIN (8/5): - The motel is nice enough for a couple of nights but I can't say I would want to stay longer than that. You can hear the highway (route 1 A) from your room as well as neighboring motel neighbors (talking, flushing toilets, etc.). The maid service is awesome! Many hotels/motels currently don't provide maid service if you're only staying 2 nights but this one does! What's odd is the manager of the motel was not around when we arrived (at check in time). I had to call a phone number to check into the motel which was a little annoying. When I spoke to the manager, he gave me the room number and said the room was unlocked with the key placed on the table inside which was odd since the motel had a keypad on the outside door. We always lock the door when we leave to go out during the day. This time when we came back to the motel we found that the maid service had left our motel door unlocked (this had all of our stuff inside so it was weird to see they didn't lock the door). The cost of the motel is not cheap but it is in a location where you can get to beaches rather quickly so it's understandable. The room we were in looked like they had renovated it within the last couple of years, however, the mattresses definitely need replacing as they were uncomfortable to sleep on. There are things the owners of the motel could do better but ultimately this motel met our needs for the time we were there.
