Guest Reviews
- Alecia (2/5): - Safety is a really big issue. Spiders in the room Had a man come to us wanting to sell pills. Then our last night a 13 year old girl was going to room to room bringing towels to room and it was like 9 o’clock. Her mom sitting outside of office drinking and smoking weed. You could not get extra towels unless you brought your old ones to the office. We will NEVER be back.
- belinda (6/5): - Not bad for rate. Lake is across the street. Bed was okay. Good enough for an overnite stop.
- Ralph (2/5): - Shower didn't work
- Brian (2/5): - They said they had a pool the pool was green with stuff growing in it there was mold on the bathroom door and the room smelled bad of mold very disappointing I will never go back there
- Catherine (10/5): - The property was fine. The a.c. Was working but it kinda hot for me as I can’t sleep good if I’m hot. But I am hot natured. But it cooled off over into the night. But overall it was good. The price was good and the inn keeper was very nice and helpful. Could have used more shampoo and soap.
- Garrett (2/5): - Staff was amazing and available anytime. Other than incredible bug problem my only real issue is the pet fee is $20 not $10 and having a pet forces you in a smoking room which had i known certainly would have changed my plans. Location though is perfect
- David (8/5): - Great view. So much potential to make this a very good site. But bathroom needs total rehab. It was very clean, bed was comfortable. Check in and out great.
- Daniel (2/5): - Bathroom was super dirty and room smells moldy. Staff super nice but place is just gross!!!!
- Geri (4/5): - The management was friendly and gave us a coffee pot etc. The bed was clean. But it was full of roaches. I hate roaches. We told the management and they were sorry and promised to take care of it.
- Kevin (6/5): - The property was close to lake as needed by our visit.
Would like to have had better house keeping.
- Walter (2/5): 2 nights of hell - The room was dirty, bugs live and dead, only 2 small towels no room service. In room Downstairs the upstairs room made loud noise all night. The toilet was broken, tub wouldn’t drain trash floating in the water. After my shower walked across the floor my feet bottoms were black.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Gave us a room they KNEW had no working shower (not even a nozzle to pull for a shower) w/o even a rubber stopper to fill the tub. Had to bathe as if we were down by the crick. Room was not clean, they charge $3 for a small bucket of ice, We were there several days, and NOT ONCE did they empty the trash cans, give us clean towels, or change the sheets in our room. We had to bag & sit our room trash on the walkway to get them to take it, and we had go to the office and ask for our own towels and the wifi password. But -- there is an envelope in the room with a handwritten note stating that a maid service tip is appreciated. We only stayed there because it was the only hotel close to our family.
- Yvette (6/5): You can keep the spider - The Inn was nice the family was ready accommodating. The room had spiders everywhere and not just small ones. It had a odor like the room had been close up for a long time.
The owner fix that problem fast.
This has nothing to do with the Inn but 4 days not a bit or catch.
- Laurie (4/5): - The rooms were dated and stuffy, smelly.
- DeAnna (8/5): - The only thing upsetting was the pool was not in service.
- Sherri (8/5): - The room was nice size and clean. Air conditioner worked great. Check in was simple.
- Jess (10/5): - Comfortable stay. Just a lil overpriced for room quality
- Sherry (2/5): - This property is not fit for humans to stay there. I have pictures to share if you like. On the ad it appears that the lake is right ehind the hotel, not, across the road. Trailers behind the property. Pool was empty except for green slime. Room was so dirty, walls dirty, trim dirty and damaged. Door damaged and you could see daylight around it. Bath fixtures rusty and dirty. A cherry was in the sink. Tub did not have a stopper but clogged with black hair. Light fixture in bath only had 1 bulb in it, other sockets empty and exposed. We only stayed because there were no rooms at other hotels but found one the next am. I paid for 2 nights and want my money back and these people closed. Health Dept should be notified.
- Thomas (8/5): - Very convenient to the lake and park.
- Christy (2/5): - Dirty dirty dirty! Someone was banging on our door in the middle of the night (several times). BUt my biggest complaint was how disgusting and dirty it was.
- BJ (4/5): - Property needs to be refurbished inside. We had to turn the water on so the toilet would work. I ran the whole time. Bathroom walls was dirty. The white bathroom door was dirty.
- Jared (2/5): - The toilet seat completely broke off and bed bugs
- Angela (10/5): - Nice hotel right across the street from the lake. Easy driving distance from hotel to local restaurants and stores. Great staff!!
- Bobby (6/5): - Pros: Exterior was nice and updated, staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, great location, easy parking, convenient, hot water for showers
Cons: Interior walls, ceilings and doors need updated and painted, a single key for door with no padlocks so wasn’t very secure, worse thing was you need a exterminator, killed 8 spiders which were possible brown recluse, 2 on floor, 1 out of my shoe, 2 on son’s bed, 1 on nightstand and 2 in the bathroom over a 3 night span, that is why not a better review
- Jon (8/5): - Out dated. Can use some cleaning up. Doors need replaceing
Overall a quite place.
- Ami Jo (6/5): - Property was fine and served its purpose.
- Melissa (2/5): - The lake is across the street, very close but the place is nasty. The room was very dirty . I think people live in the rooms for long term stays.
- Terry (10/5): - A view of Reelfoot Lake.
- Franklin (6/5): - Its lodging for folks on fishing trips. Interior is older and worn. Not dirty but not exactly clean either. It had a comfortable bed ,hot shower and a small fridge. For the price it is fine for fishing camp.
- Ashlin (10/5): Great deal! - Great for the price! We came here after our first hotel was unacceptable. It was exactly what I expected it to be. Felt very safe. Beautiful area surrounding the inn.
- Dorn (6/5): - Went there to view the eclipse. Inn is pretty 'bare-bones' - old furniture, small towels, minimal amenities - probably fine for most Reelfoot clientele who are there to fish or birdwatch. Fine for me also, as it was very clean and folks were friendly. Just don't expect luxury. No breakfast, by the way. Great location for Reelfoot.
- Deborah (10/5): Would recommend - I’ve stayed here several times over the last year. The staff is friendly and helpful!
- Desiree (10/5): - We loved the getaway, it was peaceful and quiet. Will be back for sure!!
- James (10/5): - The motel was clean and staff friendly.
They have a handicapped room available.
- Verified traveler (2/5): You get what you pay for - The only positive thing about this motel is that is 1 mile from Reelfoot Lake State Park. There was convenience, but nothing else. The room was so worn and dirty. I hated even getting into the bed. The mattresses were saggy and thin. The paint was chipped. There were marks on the walls. The plaster was ripped off by the shower. The toilet seat and the toilet paper holder were so bad. It was one of the few places we could stay at to go to the Eagle festival and the price was right. Ha ! the price was very wrong. We should never have thought that the pictures showed a very inexpensive room with decent accommodations. The safety lock on the door was broken and the locks on the door were from the 1960s or 70s. The key was an old-fashioned key with the room number on it. There was light coming through the door into the room. Even I could have broken down the door. We will never stay there again. We will stay north of the state park and travel just so we feel that we are in a clean environment. I wish I would’ve taken pictures just to show you how poor a condition this motel is in.
- John (8/5): - nothing fancy here, but a clean, warm place to stay in between eagle spotting trips... Bed and pillows were comfortable. Linens clean. Water/shower hot. Have to drive for food, but that was expected.
- TERRENCE (4/5): - Interior of room was dirty, paint peeling, wallpaper peelin. Spend a few dollars to paint and clean. Worst hotel experience in years. Only positive is location close to eagle watching tours
- Brad (8/5): - Room was clean and large. Check in was easy. Nice bed. Bath was adequate. Will be back.
- Gail (8/5): - Good place to stay at Reelfoot Lake. Clean, quiet. Friendly and efficient staff.
- Joyce (8/5): - I always enjoy staying here. It’s very quiet and peaceful the rooms are clean.
- Anthony (8/5): - Much better than the last place we stayed at in Reelfoot. Heat in our room did not work though.
- JoAnn (2/5): Dirty and rundown - Room wasn’t clean and very rundown We were Promised a king bed and was moved from that room to 2 full size beds. Could not communicate with office staff. I think the pictures tell the story.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Good location and the staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is very dated.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and quiet
- Roxanne (10/5): - This hotel was recommended by a friend for its cleanliness and location. The checkin person was very nice and told us help was available anytime we needed it.
- Brandon (10/5): - Thank you
- Tricia (10/5): - I loved staying at reelfoot. The Inn was worth the price. Inn Keeper was nice. You have beautiful view of the lake. You can't hear the traffic.
- Teri (8/5): - We stayed one night and it met our needs. It’s a nice location across the street from the lake.
- George (6/5): - Could see a beautiful lake out of room. The room did not appear to have been swept in a while. There were a bunch of dead bugs and one HUGE live spider. Someone should check the rooms before guest get there.
- Deborah (8/5): - Exceptionally quiet, no frills, everything is in good functional condition, and most importantly, the couple managing the place genuinely cares about making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. It is not luxury, but having driven the whole town, we found it above par for the area. I would definitely stay again. Things to note, the pool was closed for the season & coin op laundry is no longer available. There is a Subway at the local grocery store & other restaurants within 2 miles of the Inn.
- vincent (4/5): - Had to leave a day early for a emergency at home lost our one daystay the day we had to leave early.
- Audra (10/5): - All of it
- Garrott (10/5): - We stayed in Tiptonville at the Reelfoot Lake Inn only because nothing else came up in Expedia. There are several other places we saw near the lake but this hotel was the right price, close to Ridgley, TN, very nice folks at the desk, comfortable, roomy, clean. It's not the Ritz Carlton but we liked it. Can walk to the lake. Close to town, close to restaurants. Why spend more??
- Janet (6/5): - Staff was very accommodating but the room had a strong smell of maple syrup that went through all my clothes and luggage also air conditioner made way too much noise. There were only two or three rooms occupied in our building and they put us all together instead of separating us so that we didn’t have to park all together. But it was quiet except air conditioner
- Jeff (10/5): - Great stay for the price
- Don (10/5): - Very clean
Would stay again
- Michelle (10/5): - Very nice owners. Clean, and quiet place to stay. The Lake is literally across the road from the hotel.
- Michelle (10/5): - Love staying here. We are about to head there again next month.
- Regina (4/5): - Locks on inn room were broke, pool was opend but No chairs to sit in to relax.Bed very uncomfortable, bathroom was very very horrible...the room or eooms need some seriously updates .Convenient location but rhat is all.
- Jimmy (6/5): - Stains on blankets and mold on shower curtain. Needs a little work on rooms.
- Sarah (8/5): - Parking was convenient! Room was kinda shabby and dirty towels were stained. Shower curtain was molded. Bed was stained on the mattress cover. But over all was clean.. no bugs.. semi quiet quick one night stay just to sleep for the price I would stay again
- Tammy (4/5): - The property was beautiful. The rooms on the other hand were not what we expected for the price we paid for them. There was 1 very dim lamp and the vanity lights to see by. 1 very small light in the bathroom. The bathroom itself was very small and the tub was tiny. I wouldn’t stay there again if someone else paid for it. House keeping was not thorough at all. She swept the threshold of the door and our floor was filthy!! Not stall happy for the amount of money spent to stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No pool blues - They need better beds!! They advertise a pool but it wasn’t even open!! Had planned on swimming! Need a few outside trash cans!!
- eric (8/5): - Nothing fancy, just a place to lay your head and it was clean
- Wanda (10/5): - The room was a very basic room, but it was large and clean. Parking was convenient to the rooms. The facility was quiet and convenient to the lake and had ample parking for people who brought their boats. There was also a boat dock directly across the road.
- Melissa (8/5): - Great place to stay on a budget. Friendly staff and great location.
- Robert (10/5): - Liked the rooms were clean overall, housekeeping replaced towels daily, fresh soap, and took trash out daily. Beds where made daily.
Bathrooms are a little outdated as the furniture but overall is a good place to stay.
Most of the time spent at the hotel was sleeping, when I wasn't sleeping we where out fishing.
I would stay here again!
- Lewis (10/5): - Great place, clean and good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint little get-a-way - It was a very pleasant stay. It is was a great price for a perfect little get-a-way. I will always want the same room.
- Sadie (10/5): - I liked that they were friendly and it was old school on some things. I would definitely go back. The only thing I didn't like I didn't have a place to do laundry very close.
- Kevin (6/5): - The room shows a good deal of wear and is not as clean as it could be. The beds were comfortable it was quite and the location was convenient for my needs.
- Misty (8/5): - Beautiful property, room was very nice and clean, was quiet all night, water is right across the street, could see the lake from our balcony BEAUTIFUL…WILL BE BACK THIS SUMMER
- Terry (8/5): - It is right across the road from the lake. Easy access.
- Adam (8/5): - Overall a nice stay. We were just in town for one night. Would stay there again.
Only negatives was the cover missing from the vent fan in the bathroom and the fact that the room still had a physical key.
- Rebekka (10/5): - The staff is extremely nice. The gentleman who checked me in remembered me from a few weeks ago and has always been so kind. The room was clean and nice.
- John (8/5): - Nice owners, price is reasonable.
- James (10/5): - Pleasant operators. Enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Paradise - The location and the stay was excellent. The hotel management was awesome and very helpful
- Marian (10/5): - Great helpful staff.
- Joyce (8/5): - I will be staying again
- Michael (4/5): - room was outdated, the headboard fell off the wall, only one outlet near the bed. The tile floor did not venture to go barefoot. The fixtures were old and dated, and the faucet in the bathroom, well old is the best way to describe it, did not take a shower.
the property was a good location for boating, most of the property was unused and was placed in a room right next to boater that decided to set up camp with grills and a boat right in front of room.
Staff was amazing and friendly
- Jeff (4/5): - The inn keeper was very nice and hospitable. Really liked his service. However, the room was dirty, needs paint, and had several items which were broken or worn. With some TLC the room would be nicer.
- Bonnie (6/5): - Needs a lot of updates done.
- William E (10/5): - Only a half roll of toilet tissue
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Great veiw of the sunset over Reelfoot Lake. . . .The Inn just needs touching up cosmetically inside the rooms.
- John (8/5): - Reading other reviews helped me be aware of some things to bring along with me, but one thing that was helpful was a warm and quiet heating unit. Oftentimes older hotels are just noisy. The bed was clean and comfortable. It was a great value stay!
- Lee (6/5): - Price was 'cheap' but would of paid more if rooms were more maintianed and clean.
- James (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Linda (8/5): - We did a few hikes nearby and this was a great location for all things Reelfoot Lake. Since it was Christmas time, there were few people there so it was quiet. The staff were very nice.
- Hiliary (6/5): - The shower was very dirty, the sink was clogged. There was space around the door which made way for crickets to hop right in the room.
- elaine (10/5): - This is a great spot for a fishing trip. Staff was nice. I had left my driver's license and they got it in the mail for me and it arrived before i got home! Much appreciated.
- Emily (10/5): - Lovely place to stay.
- Terry (8/5): - Room was clean, very close to lake with handicapped dock right across the road. Area was quiet, parking area well lit. Pet friendly. Stayed a couple of nights, would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): stay at Reelfoot Lake - It was very nice and comfortable.
- Les (4/5): - Zero frills, and lots of stains. Large tiled room was pretty much empty. Bedroom and bathroom both had mysterious stains on the walls. One of the pillow cases also had stains. Towels were thin and crunchy. That being said, it's a place to lay your head, and the area surrounding the hotel is incredible.
- James (8/5): - Convenient location at Reelfoot lake for all activities. Clean and very friendly staff!
- Denise (6/5): - Our room was clean but tired. Could use some updates. Small things like hangers and facial tissues in the room would be nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Stay, Great Place! - PROs; Great location, tons of parking, genuinely quiet neighborhood, the check in was quick and the lady at the desk was lovely, in the morning we saw the owner taking a stroll and he was pretty nice! There is a water-access, fishing spot, and nice lounging walkway right across from the hotel.
Cons: Driveway has a dip for where it can flood over, the upstairs would be challenging for bad knees, and it needs a deep cleaning (but is seriously just fine, we'd stay again in an instant).
The area is still recovering from the storm damage, so there are a lot of construction spots but they aren't intrusive or loud. Reelfoot Lake is a wonderful place to visit, and this is the best option in our opinions.
- Pamela (10/5): - The people there was great the rooms were clean no breakfast but for the price no complants thanks
- Vicky (8/5): Stay - Clean no frills hotel. Nice view of lake. Friendly people.
