Walkable to most places in the city. - Hotel is located in a downtown area surrounded with late night life activities and a view of the city or the river. If you like sleep, don’t get a river view room on a lower floor as you will hear the people on the street yelling and honking their horns late at night as waterside district and their parking garage is on this side of the building. From check in, staff was helpful with check-in and getting bags to the room. The on-site restaurants were great and staff were awesome. The restaurant Grain’s food offerings were not as delicious as the restaurant Saltine. Highly, highly recommended the crafted cocktails from Saltine. Our bartender Carter was awesome and attentive and made perfect cocktails. I have stayed at other hilton hotels and I will say the bed sheets at this one were not very soft at all and felt more like a sheet of paper. Parking garage is on-site for hotel.

The river view was amazing The only thing I would say is that in my room, it was really cold even though I had the temperature on heat at the highest temperature. - Sensenigr (6/5): Almost a good stay - I have some mixed reviews on this property. First, let me start by saying that it is an absolutely lovely property. It is nice and it is a great retreat right near the waterfront in Norfolk. In fact, if you can snag a water view, it is a great view from your room. The rooms are also very nice. I was traveling on business. The bathrooms are spacious and look very newly updated. The bedroom is equally as nice with wonderful beds, newer looking carpet, great pillows and also great storage and wonderful Wifi. I ate at the Grain restaurant at the hotel, and the restaurant was delicious. Our company was having a conference at the hotel, and the entire staff was also great My main issue, and it was a big one was that there was a constant marijuana smoker on my floor. It was so bad on my first full day, that I reported it twice. The housekeeper and I just looked at the smoke coming out from under the door of the room. It was crazy evident what room it was coming from. She reported it to the front desk (as did I shortly after), and they response was that they could charge them once they checked out; however, they would never approach them during there stay. They also refused to let me move rooms. They are constantly smoking. Even right now, as I write this review on my final night -- it is absolutely terrible. It is shockingly bad when you enter the floor from the elevator, and just as bad in my actual room. Just terrible, that they do not want to take any action on it. It really is a lowlight, to what could be an otherwise great stay.

When I tell you that LaCreasha went so far above and beyond to not only make me at ease, but to accommodate and assist me, it’s an understatement. Five star service, hands down.
- Jb0y (6/5): Rough start, then OK - Arrived after a 10 hour drive, intending to valet park and get help with our stuff, including clothes on hangers. Pull up and after stating I needed the car in an hour the guy directed me to park across the street in a space that was immediately taken before I could U turn. SO had to park a bit further from the entrance and across the street. Ended up schlepping our bags and stuff, but the guy DID open the door to the hotel! Check in was pleasant and flawless, but we’re still juggling our gear. Get up to the room, seems fine, but no TV remote. Phone works to get one from maintenance after a bit, but we needed to get ready and attend a family function. Just all kinda stressful. Here’s the deal killer for me. We discover that the frosted glass bathroom barn door DOES NOT CLOSE! There is a stopper, obviously stout and deliberate, holding the door open a good 4 inches, with a decent view of the throne from the desk, if you get my drift. We’ve been married 46 years and learned some new things we didn’t need to know! I kid, but the lack of any attenuation to sounds, smells and humidity was different…why? I can’t imagine fostering a romantic getaway in a room this factual! Parking garage super convenient. In room safe didn’t work. Clean…verified when looking for tv remote with a flashlight. Starbucks round the corner.

- Johan (7/5): - Not so much, didn't get my hilton honor points, they set me as a no show while they knew I was comming in past midnight and there was a blizzard so evrything took longer, then they charged me to much, so know I have to rectify that....... Waiting times at breakfast are terrible, the employees are so busy that they can not greet you and wheb they do they tell you 10 minutes while tables are empty and it takes them almost half an hour to seat you, normally you would walk away and eat somewhere else but we already paid with the reservation for breakfast.

She greeted us warmly, recognized us upon our return and gave us fabulous advice about things to do and see in the immediate area. She was well-informed, very pleasant and graciously responded to my husband's cajoling. I'm not sure we would have been able to do the things we did without her guidance! She deserves a raise!

- Y5596LFbend (2/5): Try again!!! - My family and I came in for the weekend to explore something different. We ate at Grain our first night and we did not see the hype of what people were saying. I ordered chicken wings and they were just ok. Nothing special. My wife ordered a spinach dip and that was watery the least to say and my daughter ordered chicken tenders, that were burnt. Next was the main course everything we ordered we sent back to get re made. Needless to say Grain was not the hype. Second night we went to Saltine that was ok wifey had the snapper 6 out of 10 I had the Ribeye 5 out of 10 no flavor but tender and daughter has fantail shrimp ok. For the amount of money we pay I need better. They chefs need to try all this again.

The atmosphere was polished yet comfortable, setting the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional evening. The food was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor—every dish tasted like care had gone into it, not just ingredients. You could tell the kitchen takes pride in what leaves the pass. What truly elevated the night, though, was the service. Laura and James were outstanding. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They anticipated needs before we had to ask and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. It’s rare to have both spectacular food and memorable service in the same place, but this visit delivered both effortlessly. Highly recommend—and we’ll absolutely be back.

- Ferrer (10/5): Excellent anniversary weekend in downtown Norfolk at the Main ! - The property is beautiful and beautifully maintained . The staff was super friendly and professional. All of the restaurants were superb. Saltine for happy hour ( James and Kareem were great) and grain is always the best brunch!!

When I needed to extend my stay twice they were helpful and considerate. Especially Tay. She is always smiling. It has been a pleasure to stay here.

Great restaurants, museums, and other great things within walking distance. The river view takes your breath away. It is definitely my getaway spot.

- Amelinda (9/5): - The location was excellent. There were loads of restaurants within walking distance. We came to visit Nauticus, which was also within walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable. Joshua checked us in, he was very nice. We had a wonderful experience and would stay here again. I didn't love that we had to pay for parking, I just chalked it up to normal procedure for the east coast. That being said, it wasn't horrible, it was on-site, and we were only staying one night. The cost was added to our bill which made it convenient. Joshua printed off a QR code so we could exit the parking garage.

The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere and attentive, professional staff. Everything felt smooth, organized, and upscale and just perfect for ringing in the New Year. A special highlight of the evening was James, who provided outstanding service as the raw oyster tender. He was professional, knowledgeable, and engaging, adding an elevated touch to the celebration. His skill and presentation truly enhanced the event and complemented the Hilton’s high standard of hospitality. Between the great accommodations and exceptional service, the entire experience exceeded expectations. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend both the Hilton and James for any special occasion.

- CoachJay1 (4/5): Beuatiful holiday decorations diminished by Serious sanitation issue and failed service recovery and management follow-through - Upon check-in, our original room had a clear sanitation failure (urine present on the toilet and bathroom floor). We were moved only after going to the front desk in person, as phone calls went unanswered. Unfortunately, the issues did not stop there. During the stay, our vehicle was left unsecured overnight in paid valet parking with the front trunk open. Later, our room was checked out early and accessed without authorization while a Do Not Disturb sign was displayed, requiring us to leave an onsite meal to address the situation in person. What was most disappointing was not just the initial issues, but the failure of service recovery afterward. Management acknowledged the problems but provided only partial remediation and ultimately closed the matter without fully addressing the sanitation, security, and procedural failures. Diamond benefits were also inconsistently applied during the stay. This reflects a breakdown in management response and accountability rather than an isolated service lapse. Given the handling of this situation, I would not recommend this property until basic cleanliness, guest security, and service recovery processes are meaningfully improved.

Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly nice, professional, and welcoming, which made my stay feel easy and comfortable. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and I had an excellent view that I really enjoyed, especially in the evening. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

From the moment I arrived, Lori, the greeter at the front, set a wonderful tone for my stay. Her pleasant energy and warm welcome made me feel immediately at ease and valued as a guest. During my stay, I encountered a technical issue while attempting to print name tent cards using the guest printers. Despite it being an exceptionally busy week with two conferences running simultaneously at the property, the front desk team responded immediately and professionally. Paige, Olivia, and Isabella worked collaboratively to troubleshoot the problem and ultimately resolved it by utilizing their behind-the-counter printers to ensure I had what I needed in time. Their swift action, problem-solving abilities, and genuine willingness to help made a significant difference during what could have been a stressful situation. It's clear that this team is well-trained and truly cares about guest satisfaction, even during high-volume periods.
