You can easily walk to some good restaurants and beaches. The air conditioner leaked. After a night they upgraded us to their best room.

Sue (6/5): The Fred is not quite living up to its potential - The location is great: right on the water, with wonderful views and sunsets. The outdoor area is expansive and aesthetically appealing and inviting with the bar/restaurant, and pool and hot tub, and it's nicely landscaped. The exterior of the hotel looks good, maybe recently painted, and our rooms were nicely appointed. There were restaurants and beaches within walking distance. I love that the Fred is pet friendly. We stayed in two different rooms. The first one had an odd odor. The staff tried to correct the problem with an ozonator machine and dehumidifier, but it made only a small difference. The second room we stayed in was quite nice, with no odor, but the mattress sagged - a LOT, and the light next to the bed didn't work. The pool has yellow algae. I also didn't appreciate the continuous music throughout the day, but that's very subjective.

Chris (9/5): Charming hotel in Frederiksted! - Our flight was cancelled and we needed last minute accommodation - this hotel saved us! We enjoyed our stay. It has a great location on the water, staff are very helpful, and overall a good value. We had an ocean facing terrace that was very nice in the morning with coffee. Good breakfast as well. The building is very old. They’ve done a good job with the furnishings but the age shows, particularly in the bathrooms. We found it charming - the hotel, like much Frederiksted, has a laid back, bohemian vibe… you need to embrace it!

Kerry (9/5): Fredericksted, St. Croix, USVI is one of our favorite getaways and I hope to stay at The Frederiksted Hotel again. - The location was across the street from the ocean and within walking distance to our interests. The staff was very nice. The breakfast restaurant in the courtyard was very convenient and has a great reputation. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and we loved the patio with an ocean view. Parking is a small issue.

Janet (8/5): Excellent Location, Cold A/C Window Units, and Friendly Staff - The Frederiksted Hotel is in an excellent location for easy walking to restaurants, shopping, and the pier for water activities. The small window a/c unit did a great job keeping my room cool, reducing humidity, and drowning out any noises. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I was in a farthest room for hot water. I learned to let the hot water run a bit (wasteful) in order to have a warm shower. The mattress was softer than I like. I didn't have pleasant view through my window. I didn't like that I couldn't get breakfast (anywhere!) until something opened at 8:00 AM. I'm an early riser and like to fuel up before I do an 8:30 AM or later activity. There's a cash-only breakfast restuarant on the ground floor that opens at 8:00 AM. By the time it opens and you get your order in, it can be 8:45 AM before you get your food. I solved this by getting breakfast items for my room from a grocery store a few streets over.

It is an older hotel so not the most modern facilities, but it was comfortable. There is no elevator so just be prepared to climb stairs. with your luggage.

Paul (8/5): The Frederiksted Hotel came through when we needed a place at the last minute. - Our plane got cancelled so we booked the hotel at the last minute, and we were glad to get a room. We had minimal time in the hotel. The reception area was clean and efficient and the staff member was very positive. The room had a little kitchenette that we didn't use, but it would have been nice if we were staying longer. The double or full size bed was ok. but it kind of sunk toward the middle, but it worked out ok for our one, short night needs.

susanwX5682JO (8/5): A Great St Croix Day and Stay - Location! Location! Location! We have been here twice and will go again! Views are amazing, room is great, and staff is attentive and friendly. Especially Roxy! Esterlyn’s restaurant (in the courtyard not actually a part of the hotel) has homemade breakfast at a reasonable price (we got breakfast they’re everyday). It’s walking distance to great restaurants and snorkeling. First time we stayed we didn’t even rent a car!

Greg (10/5): Right across from the ocean and a beautiful view. - The property was very clean and right across from the ocean. The view was beautiful. The 2 women that ran the front desk were very polite and helpful. Overall the property was exceptional. The room we stayed in was the King size bed on the 2nd floor. The view was amazing. The court yard is a neat area also. Breakfast is delicious and priced very well.

Cynthia (4/5): - Staff was very friendly. Advertised pool access.No pool on premises and the accessible pool was a hike plus a fee to use it. Surrounding area around the hotel demonstrated just how broke Fredericksted is. The town needs a homeless shelter as many of their poor mentally affected are either walking around the streets and a few permanently in the park across the street from the hotel. Our room that had been updated had broken floor tiles, sub par tv and air conditioning. On the plus side the king size bed was very comfortable and Esterlyn’s breakfast bar at the hotel was great.
Laura (7/5): I was underwater scuba diving most of the time. - Great location to downtown Frederiksted; onsite restaurant is only open 8-11 for breakfast and cash only, that said it was very reasonably priced and good food. Several area restaurants, but some are closed on certain days, some are only "bar" food. Good ones were the Flyer at the Victoria House and 69 hidden behind a dive shop near the pier. 2 "grocery" stores nearby - one is like a gas station convenience store; the other was slightly larger but limited selection. Kitchenette has a frig, and stove and microwave, but no cooking utensils. Dishes to have a bowl of cereal were borrowed from the community kitchen and no kitchen sink. Other rooms had kitchen sinks, but no stove. no one had utensils. This location does not have a pool, the pool is a couple blocks down and is $25 for a pass.
Katherine (8/5): Worth a stay, nice home base in Frederiksted - The staff were great, location is central and lovely. Room was clean and comfortable. The place is a bit dated, and the water pressure was not great.
Marilyn (8/5): - The location was perfect. Love being right at the water. Plenty of benches for people watching. Did not like the fact there are no elevators, but I managed slowly with my cane. I liked the island charm feel of the property. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. I would stay again if the price would come down a bit.

The staff went out of the way to ensure my after hours check in went flawlessly. Restaurants in comfortable walking distance. Very friendly atmosphere I dislike the cavalier attitude of the government authorities. Something should be done in governance. It is hard to believe that this Island is governed by the United States of America. Roads could also be improved.

Mary Lou (10/5): - Manager and staff are friendly and helpful. Great room: nice decor, comfortable bed and linens, nice kitchenette. Could hear street activities but 10p quiet time respected by those outside and inside hotel. They even have a community kitchen w/ a full size oven and stove top, sink, microwave, and full size fridge. They had utensils, pans, and a dish drainer and dust soap, herbs, salt/pepper. Wait there’s more. They have a coin operated washing machine, and dryer. The office has snacks, candy, beer, wine and clothes washing soap at reasonable prices. They even had plenty of quarters to dole out! Definitely recommend and plan to come back!

Allyson (6/5): - The hotel itself is good (aside from them allowing people to do laundry in the middle of the night and the washer and dryer is in the hall and neighboring rooms have shutters for windows so it's loud). The homeless folks with mental health issues wandering up and down the street around the hotel and the people with the loud music and dog across the street was rather interesting. Everyone says it's safe but being a solo female traveler I didn't feel comfortable walking solo, especially if dark outside.

Trip799035 (10/5): Awesome Experience!! - My Husband and I flew in to St.Croix in October for a new start and decided on staying with the Fredericksted Hotel. We booked a one night stay but unfortunately it turned out to be longer than we expected. Let’s just say that throughout our one month stay the staff was awesome. Montgomery (The owner )Roxy (Assistant General Manger) Jamisha( Front Desk Assistant) & Delroy( Groundskeeping) we do appreciate you guys for everything you’ve done. We felt welcomed. The staff here treats you like family. My husband and I really do appreciate the support that this hotel provided to us. I’ll definitely recommend The Frederiksted Hotel. Friendly, Safe, Happy, Great Breakfast, Perfect View, & great deals. Highly Recommended.
Paw (8/5): - One-night stay. Issues: Someone had wrecked the outer layer of one of the windows. I was not informed about that before entering my room. Wifi quality was so poor that the room TV couldn't reliably stream a video off Netflix. Beyond that, great location, great staff.
Ann-louise (7/5): Good - The balcony faced the ocean, so that was good. There is an awesome breakfast place downstairs. Location of Hotel was ideal for us. Also want to add, the staff was the very best!! They were very flexible and responsive! Although hotel was clean, there was a dead bug squashed in the corner of one of the draws. There are gaping spaces in door so was always concerned something would crawl in. Water was never hot...only tepid..Otherwise, no other issues.

They were even proactive in letting us know that the breakfast area was flooded due the heavy rain and made suggestions of other places to go in the area. The hotel needs repairs and the homeless/drug addicts that stay around the hotel all day and night made us feel a little unsafe.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was not very clean at check in, the bath mat in the tub is sponge like material and covered chips at the bottom of the tub and sand.

ericgM1130SS (6/5): Comfortable bed, friendly staff - The staff was very friendly and the bed very comfortable. The only issue we had was with the shower not draining. My wife did not like standing in two inches of soap scummy water. We brought the issue to the attention of the staff, but their only reply was that they were aware of the problem. For what the hotel charges per night, I expected better.
