- Vinessa (7/5): Good stay, evil a was warm and friendly and attentive. Plenty of space to spread out - Great location inside Navaridas, Was advertised as have amenities that were not there

Elvira was ontzettend aardig.

- Idyllisches altes, liebevoll renoviertes Winzerhaus in ruhiger Lage.

- Grant (10/5): A beautiful hotel in Navaridas. - The property is wonderfully unique. We were advised it was originally built in the 13th century and the owner has very thoughtfully kept original details and combined with modern amenities.
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Stylish. Ancient. Peaceful. Nothing
- Sonia (10/5): Great place to disconnect from the city - Everything: beautiful, traditional, quiet, clean and cozy. Elvira, the owner, makes you feel at home. Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): Our hostess, Elvira was very friendly and wonderful at making us feel welcomed. I would definitely come back! - It was very charming and very clean. It was a cute little town surrounded by vineyards.
- Ana-yvette (10/5): Magical stay! - The property is so charming! The town looks like a fairy tale. The location is perfect to visit wineries. Close by are Laguardia, Haro, Logroño for wine tours and pinxo bar hopping. We enjoyed listening to the birds chirping everyone and the delicious breakfast. The hosts were lovely! Nothing to say here.
- Marianne (9/5): We had a lovely time. The only sad thing was we could not stay longer. -
- Zachary (10/5): A very special place. Wonderful building, beautiful scenery, top-tier hospitality. -
- bcsoma (10/5): Lovely place with lovely owners - We have just checked out from Carpe Diem after a weekend of Rioja Alavesa visit. We had a great time and felt like at home, Elvira made our stay as warm and welcoming as if we had visited our Auntie from Rioja. If you are looking for a personal touch, this is place is highly recommended.
- MisterMike53 (10/5): Carpe Diem - A perfect Getaway Spot - We stayed here last year and came back with friends this time. Carpe Diem is located in a little mountain village in the La Rioja region of Spain, very close to LaGuardia. As you come onto the street where Carpe Diem is located, you come into a beautiful courtyard, with a little park and fountain. Carpe Diem is located in the right corner.
This stone building was built in 1744 and had been beautifully made into a terrific guest house. The first floor stone entry would have been the stables when it was built but today is a wonderful entry with a nice room to the right where you check in.
Our hostess. Elvira, was very friendly and accommodating, between her limited English and our very limited Spanish, we managed to make ourselves understood. As we were the only guests, she allowed us the opportunity to choose our rooms. The PLUM room was painted in plum colors and overlooks the courtyard. The VANILLA room was painted cream/yellow and my wife swears it smelled of vanilla, not sure how Elvira did that!.
The linens on the bed and curtains looks to be hand detailed; also the towels too. The windows in both rooms (which are on the 3rd floor - 2nd if you're European), overlook the courtyard, which the residents take great pride in keeping beautiful.
The 2nd floor is the dining room/breakfast room which has a little outdoor patio which we utilized a couple times for lunch or snacks before dinner, In here you can see the stone walls of the building and how nicely they've fixed it.
Breakfast was orange juice, coffee and hot milk (leche). bread or toast, jam or honey, cheeses, meats, fresh tomatoes and their own homemade olive Oil. All very good. Also each day a special cake made by their daughter, Lorea.
The family also has a winery, in fact we found a bottle of their wine in our room when we checked in. We made arrangements to do a tour and tasting which was done by Elvira's husband, Javier and translated by their daughter Lorea. It was fascinating learning about the land they grow the grapes on, going into the cellars and tasting right from the wine tanks, and learning about their process.
This is a great place, very reasonable, close by to most places in La Rioja, especially Haro. Elvira is very friendly and will help you with any suggestions if needed. Her husband and daughter are very friendly as well. I highly recommend Carpe Diem if you really want to stay in a unique place, run by friendly folks, in beautiful, sunny Spain.
- RonM812 (10/5): Great Hosts and Great Wine - We intended to stay one or two nights and liked it so much we spent our last 3 nights in Spain there. The hosts are incredibly friendly. We started with a free wine tasting at their winery a few blocks away, enjoyed the breakfasts included in the very reasonable rates, and had a very comfortable room with great views. It does help to speak a little Spanish.
- Kian19 (10/5): A perfect Casa rural! - We totally fell in love with this beutiful Casa Rural. After giving up on finding a place to stay in Laguradia, we started driving on the roads hoping something would come up. Thats when we saw this small sign with the magical words of CASA RURAL.
This beutiful rustic place is in a very small and very beutiful village right outside Laguardia. If you want to find peace and quiet this is the place for you.
You have a great view over the wineyards from your balcony!
The owners of the place are very kind, generous and helpful. At our arrival we were given a bottle their own produced wine as a present.
They make their own olive oil whick is served with the best breakfast, where they also serve you a homebaked cake!
- GlobetrottersSweden (8/5): Romatic rooms in Navaridas - A little place in a small villgae, Navaridas, in Alvas in the vine region of Rioja. Just a few kilometers from Laguardia. The room was so romantic and with nice decoration in a traditional style. OK breakfast with coffee, juice, ham and cheese to the baguettes. Good wine as well. The only problem we had was to find the place. There is no signs from the road and the sign on the house was not very commercial (which is good) but not easy to see. Good to call in advance to check the booking.
