Access to Ecolucerna lodge is through a motor bote and takes approximately 2 hours.
Due to its location, guests partaking in any outdoor activities must be accompanied by a guide.
There is no public or terrestrial transport to Ecolucerna lodge.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 pay 50% of the rate, children under 5 years don't pay.

Based on local tax laws, all citizens and resident foreigners must pay an additional fee (IVA) of 18%.
* This additional fee (IVA) is not included in the hotel rates and must be paid separately.
To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA) the payment must be made in US dollars and a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented. The passenger won’t be exempt from this fee when paying in local currency. In case of no show the invoice will be billed in local currency, including this additional fee (IVA).

We can access to the lodge [3.7 mi from Puerto Maldonado] only by boat, then we have a canoe once a day.

- Ivica (10/5): - Everything was fantastic . We had excellent time there . Robert is excellent guide from the pickup stationto the end organized patient and knowledgeable. We did two activities per day learned along about jungle and had really good time in nature .John is exceptional cook - every meal he surprised us with different and tasty three coarse meals beautifully arranged. All staff was amazing. Cabin was clean and spacious with comfy beds. Would absolutely recommend it. For us was ok but I know some people wouldn't like to have electricity restricted which effects internet as well. as you depend on wifi in the lodge

- CHUNMEI (10/5): 高級又物美價廉的生態渡假村。 - 非常喜歡Ecolucerna Lodge Tambopata 擁有超大的生態園區 就在亞馬遜河旁邊 園區生態非常的好，拍到很多美麗的鳥跟動物。。透過 Booking .com.訂房，得到了特別優惠的房價。優惠的房價裡包含機場接駁跟早晚餐還有一次園區的漫步導覽 度假村也給我們搭一次船出去亞馬遜河 欣賞生態跟釣魚。我們的木屋房間寬敞又舒適，非常的高級。早餐跟晚餐也非常的美味 可惜我們只訂到一個晚上的住宿。這裡的WiFi只能在餐廳附近得到強的信號，晚上9點過後是限電的。但是亞馬遜河流域附近的度假村，大部分都是這樣的模式。超級推薦

Perdimos la primera mañana, a pesar de haber cogido el vuelo muy pronto y tuvimos que hacer tiempo en puerto Maldonado. Nos hicieron pagar early check out y aprovecharon para llevar a otros huéspedes de excursión, cuando se supone que te hacen pagarlo porque tienen que mover un bote para ti solo. Esperábamos más de las excursiones, quizá el guía tuvo que ver. En definitiva, mala relación calidad-precio
- Charlton (9/5): Amazing value for money but slightly confusing to book (read for help) - This place felt like a real bargain compared to the jungle trips my other friends took (came to Peru for a wedding but split off after for different jungle adventures). Well worth the money for the 4d/3n Wild Tambopata experience. The cabins are F'ing brilliant and I absolutely loved sleeping the sound of the jungle. Really good value for money. It's cheaper through here than the website we ended up paying $332usd total each for the 3 nights all inclusive with the package for 'Wild Tambopata' which was I think $375 total through their site. But the site has better details to understand what's going on. The advertisement on here was a bit confusing to look at but it's a bit more clear when you look at the Ecolucerna website. I still booked 3 nights all inclusive through here as it had a discount then they messaged me through WhatsApp to select the package options. I don't recommend going with the Claylick McCaws package as you have to switch accommodations halfway through which they don't make clear. This is because their distance to the McCaws is too far to get there in time. However the Wild Tambopata experience was superb value for money and I would happily stay here again.

Il capo delle guide, Peter, inesistente e senza entusiasmo, una persona inutile se si considera il ruolo che dovrebbe ricoprire con gli ospiti del Lodge. Cambia lavoro che è meglio….!!!!

- Anselm (7/5): Difficult communication beforehand, but nice place - - nice place with amazon feeling - nice huts - good vegetarian food options - games available and a very nice comunal aerea - staff nice and helpful (once you're there) - connected to community projects which we liked a lot The booking information is not correct and the communication with the place was at first very difficult. There is no check-in possibility at 7am, like on booking advertised. After making the reservation through booking we were informed that the check-in is normally between 11.30am and 1.30pm, but in our case it was even later (at 2pm at the boat, and at 3.30pm at the place...). There is only one boat available to bring you to the place and no possibility to get there otherwise. As well the check-out was not as advertised, we were told the night before check-out, that our boat would leave at 7.15am in the morning and that it would be the mandatory check-out because again only one boat would be available for the day... As well, we booked the basic package (only accomodation). After having finalised the reservation we were told that we have to pay mandatory extra for the transport and food. That would have been fine, if we would have known, but since it pretends that there are different options, we were a bit puzzled by this, especially because the reservation could not be cancelled without us paying the cancellation fee of 50%... Our questions per whatsapp messages were almost not answered by the staff, only after their manager took over at some point the communication got a bit smoother. After all, its a nice place and if you book the all inclusive package and adjust to their timetable, you will have a good time, you can just sadly not rely on the descriptions you find on booking and I guess it's best to not expect that communication regarding your needs will be easy before getting there. Last remark: we talked as well about our struggels at the end with the manager, Silvia, who understood the difficulties we had and she said they are working on it, hopefully next guests will have easier communication

She reached out numerous times regarding the booking of programs and transfers which could have been communicated and finalized in a much easier way. The cost for transfers from/to the airport and food cost the equal amount I paid for the accommodation. This really doesn’t work out. It was difficult to understand what the programs include and in the end I just let it be a surprise. Payment was another trouble, I was sent a link for payment which doesn’t work as the remoteness of the place does not send sms for verification and was told by the owner that this is the last day to settle payment, tho she is aware that one is on a tour and that WiFi is very limited to the lodges restaurant. When requesting a later check out than 8:30 am this could not be accommodated.

- Viorica (10/5): Jungle feeling with comfort and good food - The rooms were spacious and comfortable, nice views outside. The meals were delicious and varied and we got juice and water as well. We booked the wild Tambopata tour and was great. Was a great place to relax at the end of the Perú trip. The tours were informative and fun and the day also had time for relaxing in the hammock. The transfer was well organized and the boat trip was comfortable. Getting the information about the costs of the tours extra to the booking on booking.com was complicated and took lots of time. There was diverging information online regarding the policies and rules but when we got there everything was ok. The breakfast was the same every day.

- James (9/5): Superb - The lodge is adequate and clean. It is a small place but includes everything you might need. They provide a hot chocolate and a snack occasionally and the food was healthy. Portable water provided throughout. The portions of food were modest but tasty. Otherwise it was fine for a remote lodge.
- Hristina (7/5): Cool experience but wouldn’t repeat or would look for a different lodge - Beautiful space, friendly staff at the property. Robert, our guide, was wonderful and we’re super grateful for him. Loved the bungalow- houses and the patio! The communication with the sales team — so complicated and difficult. I booked through booking unsure if the price includes board and activities (it doesn’t!!) and then I wasted days and hours trying to comprehend the different options and pricing + pickup arrangements. One thing you see on their website, another they tell you in chat. For the price that you pay (which is very high for local standards), the booking and sales experience is bad and not smooth at all. You have little control over what days you do what trips. Lunch is too early, dinner is too late — no flexibility for that either. It would be nice to have access to some fruits or be able to buy some local food from them whenever you want. Also, we happened to be there when the weather wasn’t warm and there’s no hot water so be warned.
- Zohrab (1/5): Really bad communication - Beautiful place in a beautiful location. The tours were great but the rest of the experience was bad. Take extra food with you if you don't want to go to bed hungry. Service was really bad. When I booked it here I was given a price however a few days before the trip I was contacted and told that they were an all inclusive resort and the price is different due to the cost of the meals, the tours and the transportation to and from the airport. They give me a few package options for the tours and with the one that I chose the price of the booking more then tripled. It actually quadrupled. There was not time to change the travel itinerary so I decided to go with it. Arriving at the airport we were greeted with a very dirty gentleman who directed us to a tiny, very dirty, very old and falling to pieces, car. There were 4 of us so in order to fit in the car we had to hold our luggage on our laps. I figured it was going to be short ride to the river based on the resort information on booking.com so we just sardined ourselves in the car. He took us onto a highway ride for about an hour. The driver unable to speak a word of English to answer our questions of where we were being taken to, we were sure we were going to be robbed. After an hour he turned onto a dirt road on which we continued for another 40 minutes. I was sure that even if we were not robbed, we were sure to get stranded as the car would completely fall apart. It did however make it to the river, which we rode for another 40 min to get to the resort. The resort was beautiful in the middle of the forest. We had a beautiful night tour and slept in a beautiful cottage. The next morning we had an amazing tour watching the macaws but after the tour we were told that we had to go to another resort. WHAT? I showed them my papers that I had booked 3 nights but they told me that this was not the resort that I had booked: it was part of the tour package that I had chosen. So we packed up again and took the same torturous trip back to Puerto Maldonado, where we had started from, but this time from there we had to take another boat for about hour and half the opposite direction to the river.

- Annija (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, the lodge is in the middle of the jungle. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Both in the lodge and during tours you can see and hear many animals and birds, interesting fauna. Stayed there for 4 nights and it was one of the best experiences i had in Peru.

- Eric (9/5): A unique experience -- would definitely recommend! - Each day three large meals were served. The food was tasty and provided plenty of energy for tours and other activities. I was lucky enough to see a giant anteater, a king vulture, several caimans, a number of capybaras, giant rover otters, monkeys and numerous different bird species. The guide, Robert, was friendly and knowledgeable, with a great eye for spotting wildlife. The lodge itself was rustic but beautiful, tucked within the forest and providing a relaxing place to rest when not exploring the Amazon.
- Anton (10/5): Ten-day chillout in calm location. - Beautiful peaceful location. White sand beach begins 400 m away. Rooms are spacious and clean, bed comfortable, kitchen remarkably well equipped, and great shower. Patio faces sea. Town of Las Galleras is 20 minute walk along the beach but there is a bar 100 m away and good restaurants closer than the town. Owner provides excellent smoothies every morning.
