- lemonelemi (4/5): Lovely venue, great staff, hideous food. - This was perhaps the worst cream tea I've ever had, and I've had a few. Can't fault the staff, they were lovely, friendly and helpful. The venue is beautiful and the dining area a lovely space with lovely views. But the food? When you go to venue like this you expect something a bit special. What you don't expect are slices of cheap white bread with a minimal filling and nothing like the description on the menu and photos on the website. There was a bagel cut in half, that was so rock hard and cold I couldn't eat it. My husband forced it down because he hates waste. The cakes were the biggest disappointment....not as advertised amd nothing like the photos, and more like a selection from Asda bought in at the last minute. The Portuguese tarts had tough soggy pastry so we know they weren't fresh. The mini red velvet cake might have been a Mr Kipling mass produced thing that tasted of nothing but sugar. There were a couple of chocolate triangles with bits of crunchy, another supermarket cheap delight! Two very small coffee cakes which were OK. The scones were fresh and light with a good portion of clotted cream and jam but by the time we got to these our appetites were overloaded by the sugary nasty cheap cakes, so I left most of mine. If you're going to offer a cream tea, do it properly. Source your local artisan bakers and use their patisserie, not something picked up at the supermarket. Make sure all the food is fresh. Be creative with your sandwich fillings, and make sure the bread is good quality not some gooey cheap rubbish. And ditch the bagels. They were vile. Also, when you serve a cream tea with china cups and saucers (which by the way wa lovely) try to pair up with a nice china teapot not the stainless steel one that looks like it's been borrowed from the local greasy spoon. Creating an impression on your customers is going the extra step, the little things that make it special. Sourcing local patisserie suppliers etc. Is that so hard? And honestly, if Oddfellows try to say these were sourced from local bakeries, I'm afraid they need to change their suppliers. It was our first time here. We won't be visiting again. The only reason I gave it two stars is the staff were lovely.

We had a problem with our bed which was dealt with very well by the night porter initially, then by Michelle at breakfast the next day and followed up by the manager Ernest. They quickly offered solutions to the problem and ensured we had a great stay. Restaurant at the hotel was lovely too. Highly recommend

- Daniela (8/5): Good value for money . - It was Clean it’s in very nice surroundings. The interior design is very interesting and modern. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly. I didn’t feel like I was staying in a five star hotel. I’d say it was maximum 4 star considering there was some things broken in my room, there were two different kinds of bulbs in the bathroom . No conditioner or moisturiser. I had to walk by the open kitchen door in order to get to my room and it smelled of frying fat and I did not feel that was appropriate for a five star hotel. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing. There was no choice of bean to cup coffee , only filter and the breakfast was à la carte rather than buffet style but I guess that’s just preference and I’d say the food was average. It was definitely a good value for money and absolutely fine, but I was just surprised that it was classed as a five star hotel. I got a very good discount so I’m happy but wouldn’t have wanted to pay much more for this hotel.

- 611zinac (6/5): Great Location and Breakfast, with Housekeeping Concerns. - The hotel is in a very convenient location for Manchester Airport, making it a practical choice for travelers. Breakfast was a highlight, with a good selection and particularly attentive, welcoming service. Housekeeping, however, could be more consistent, especially regarding laundry standards. Although the bedding appeared clean, some items showed visible staining and a grey tone. Overall, the hotel offers a great location and strong breakfast experience, with room for improvement in housekeeping. The duty manager was professional and apologetic, offered a discount, and assured that the issues would be addressed.
- benmerritt92 (10/5): 5* - 10/10 !!! Beautiful stay! - The Kendal Suite is an absolutely lovely room. The staff were friendly. Beautiful grounds. Lovely food and drinks in the restaurant. I paid for the rose petals and birthday plate and requested champagne glasses as i was bringing my own. They left me a bucket of ice and 2 glasses as requested. Communication before my stay was great. The minifridge and drawers have great choices in. Comfortable bed, beautiful roll top bathtub. Great bathroom. Absolutely give a 5* - 10/10 review. Definitely recommend staying at Oddfellows on the Park. If i was to be nitpicky, i’d say i was a little surprised to not find a hair dryer in the room. But that’s being really picky! Fantastic stay!
- Sergio (5/5): Okay, but below expectations. - It was located on a beautiful park. A couple of the members of staff were very attentive. Food in restaurant was good. Bathroom in room was good. Bed was too large for room and situated in the middle of the room meaning you were forever having to walk around it like a roundabout. Lights in room were too dim/misplaced. Room had a lot of furniture in it making it overcrowded and not much of it was functional. Chairs were just strewn in the room. Rooms had names and numbers which was just confusing. Blinds in rooms felt cheap as did most of the furniture. Pricing structure of the breakfasts made little sense. Charge for early check in was steep. Staff often absent from dining room and bar meaning the wait to be served was often unacceptably long. Mini bar was chargeable which should be free given the nature and price of the hotel. Some staff were aloof and standoffish.

Food in the restaurant was amazing for dinner and breakfast. Steak was one of the best we have had in a restaurant. Would really recommend half board option. Drinks service at dinner was slow due to lack of staff. Drinks arrived after starter. In room lights and lamps need a dust. Otherwise great place to stay and would stay again

Room was lovely and breakfast was fab too Shower was nice We arrived early, as it was a hot day and there is a park nearby for children it was chaos (which I understand isn't the hotels fault ) it just set us off to a bit of stressful start as parking is very limited, we were put on the top floor which is fine on the way up the cleaners had left stained bedding on the landings and there was a musty smell outside our bedroom and also in our bathroom. Outside area was a little bit untidy and the service in the bar for a drink was quite slow as only one person serving and a bar full of people. I do think the price I paid probably doesn't match the experience. We probably wouldn't return

- Passenger23124378767 (10/5): Unique Hotel with Outstanding Hospitality - I had such a wonderful stay here, Oddfellows is an incredible place with so much personality. Quirky, charming, and so unique in the best possible way. Communication from the hotel in the run up to my stay was excellent and made me feel like I’ll be welcome when I arrive. My room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and had everything I needed for a really comfortable stay. You can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into every detail. The staff truly made my stay - warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout. A special thank you to Lisa and Aidan for their lovely hospitality and for making me feel so at home. I’ll be back as soon as I can — such a beautiful and memorable place to stay

Didn't have dinner in the Galloping Major but only because it was booked out (should've reserved in advance...). Breakfast was perfect. Genuinely couldn't fault the entire stay at all. - 340katieh (6/5): Perfectly adequate but not 5* - We had such lovely high hopes but unfortunately our stay wasn't great and certainly doesn't warrant the 5* price tag. Fom the outside, this hotel is beautiful. We were fortunate to get a parking space, and Mandy on reception was really helpful in allowing us to check-in early. However, the room (and breakfast) really let our experience down. The bathroom was full of dust, there was no milk for tea and coffee, the carpet was faded and grubby, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. Breakfast consists of shop-bought pastries and cereals, or you can order from the hot menu. Our sausage baps came in cheap bread rolls and the coffee tasted like it was from a vending machine. We wouldn't recommend.
- Jessie (9/5): Quirky hotel, very nice beds - Rooms were quirky and very comfy, location was handy but a bit tricky to find. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were really helpful and nice. We didn't realise how close to the flight paths of Manchester Airport it was, but the noise didn't bother us all all surprisingly. The reception desk was close to our room so the enthusiasm of the receptionist was a handy alarm!

Nice helpful friendly staff. Great chef and food . Easy to park. No lift if you have walk g difficulty Not sure about the bedroom layout. Not for me. The bathroom facilities faced the bed so not a lot of privacy if you like that kind of thing. Beautifully decorated and clean though

- wendy (10/5): - lovely setting in the park, for walking, playground for children wild life. The room was amazing had everything you needed, bed very comfortable, great shower. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

The staff couldn’t do enough. I’d recommend a visit especially in good weather as the room looks out over the lawns

The food in the restaurant was excellent. Great value for money all round. Only one little hook for 4 towels. Not really an issue though.

- 494mike (10/5): Delicious afternoon tea - From the very friendly welcome at reception we were taken through to the Galloping Major, a gorgeously decorated multi purpose dining room for our afternoon tea. Our server Lisa explained the menu of different sandwiches, all delicious. The cake selection was scrumptious especially the fresh scones. Flavoured teas & various coffees are included. Lisa was the best part, cheerful, smiling and nothing too much trouble. We would definitely recommend an afternoon tea at this lovely hotel.
- judithpF3695CR (4/5): NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY - Arrived to see a beautiful building in a very nice setting - car parking is very difficult, not enough spaces for hotel guests. What a shame the refurbishment inside was so cheap and tacky Amanda on check in went above and beyond to help us. First room allocated was like a big cupboard, dark and dingy. Amanda moved us immediately, first impression was good, then started to see the dust everywhere, the mirrors in the bedroom and bathroom were filthy. Complimentary tea tray was very poor, The stool provided at the dressing table was far too low, i had to put 2 cushions on it to be able to use the mirror (which was very dirty)and very uncomfortable. No view from window as it had been frosted out. such a shame Bed was ok, pillows very hard (suggest you take your own).Bed linen, cheap and scratchy on the skin bathroom was a "wet room", water from shower soaked everything and took ages for the floor to dry out so couldn't use the toilet. The mirror is placed far too high. Breakfast -Not good, i ordered the porridge which was like wallpaper paste and the fruit salad with yoghurt which consisted of chopped apple and a few grapes, not good. Coffee was ok. Would i stay here again? NO, far too expensive for what you get

Unfortunately the hotel had a couple of issues with the electrics, so we were unable to have a meal I. The restaurant. However, the staff were very accommodating of this and complimented a couple of drinks each for me and my wife, which was a nice touch.

Plenty of choice and setting was excellent in a private room, wasn't disturbed by anyone outside of our group. The place was very nice and would definitely use it again Thank you

- Paul (10/5): Another relaxing stay - We like the hotel location, friendly staff, quality of food at breakfast and dinner, comfort of the rooms and public areas and the general ambiance. We've stayed a few times and it's and easy choice to return to. Nothing major. If there are issues, the staff are empowered to work around them to make guests happy. In our experience, if something isn't right, ask and they'll try to fix it.

Martin the chef was amazing, the meal we had was cooked to perfection and breakfast I asked him to cook my scrambled egg loosely and he cooked them to perfection, hotels always need great staff. Well done to all. The pillows were horrible and lumpy synthetic and duvet heavy and synthetic, but the room was gorgeous and will stay again and take my own pillow

Dinner was delicious and breakfast was good too. Beautiful building in an attractive setting. Room 16: the outer wall was covered in unpleasant marks that need cleaning off or re-painting ! One individual packet of biscuits between 2 people is rather mean ! Having recently returned from a 6 weeks tour of NZ with stays in Singapore and Sydney, we expected the toiletry provisions to be up to their standard e.g. there was no face cloth, hair conditioner, body lotion or shower cap. These things may seem small but they make a big difference.

- Sightsee09532358976 (6/5): Excited then disappointed - What a beautiful house, grounds and pleasant staff. We booked the hotel as a short stay for my 60th birthday but I have to be honest it was a bit of a let down. On arrival there was no one at reception for a while so we stood there waiting and waiting eventually someone came, checked us in and trotted off to our rooms. Entering the room which was lovely we found that we had no tea bags,only two little sachets of milk. One and half toilet rolls, no hand wash. No welcome pack with WiFi etc. The room itself was really cold so I had to go to reception and ask for a heater. We booked an evening meal and we decided to have a drink in the bar beforehand, we stood at the bar for sometime until it got a bit frustrating so we went back to reception to ask if anyone was on the bar? Eventually after sometime someone came and we were served We fully appreciate staff are busy and of course we were told the heating was playing up but overall our expectations and experience was a bit of a let down, I'm only 60 once and I was a disappointed with the experience. Shame really as it's a nice house.. expensive mini bar and tarrifs at the bar but food was reasonable. Breakfast was nice but food cold. Pity it was a lovely house though.

- Stephanie (6/5): A wonderful location. Wish we had visited in warmer season. - The decor was imaginative and the location was beautiful. The bar area was lovely and staff were friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great. There was a fan heater in the room that was the only functioning heating. It switched itself on automatically every 20 minutes or so and was so noisy it made it impossible to sleep. When I mentioned this at reception when asked how our stay was, the response was disinterested and it was obvious they were aware of the issue. Disappointing.

Excellent range of food available. The only downside for us was that it was possible to see into the toilet from the bedroom. This was the only negative for a room which otherwise was wonderful. - Graham (9/5): Very confrontable hotel wig friendly staff. - The room was amazing, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The food for dinner and breakfast was very high quality and the staff were very friendly. The only down side was that there was no soap in the dispensers in the room, no deals on how to connect to the Wifi and no instructions on how to contact the reception via the phone to get these items fixed.
