Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Close to the attractions.
- Kathleen (8/5): - Clean room, close to attractions
- Jeramia (8/5): - It was close to the Main Street.
- Joshua (10/5): - Great place!
- Kim (10/5): - The microwave was a little dirty but the interesting historic features and 70’s vibe made it full of personality and worth it, hence the 5 stars. The manager and owner were very responsive and helpful when I had a problem (my own fault) with the door. Tombstone’s 1st lodging house - 1879 - and location ideal and very walkable to all the action. We stayed in room 4 Doc Holliday. I’d definitely stay there again!
- Rachelle (10/5): - It was quaint & adorable!
- melissa (10/5): - Very neat place to stay with some history . The manager was very helpful and friendly . Basic amenities but if you ask , I'm sure the manager would be able to get what you need . Very close walking distance to main buildings of tombstone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Is a once only experience. - Is a historic building so you cannot expect perfection. Room was clean but bed was soft in the middle and bathroom suffered with a mildew smell.
- Dan (2/5): Terrible place to stay - There is no way to contact the office, because there isn't one. The fan in the room would not work without the light being on. The room 2 queen size beds in separate rooms. Air in one room,no air in the other so with no air and the fan not working unless the light on, made it a little difficult to sleep, so i had to take the light bulb out.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Our stay in the Wyatt Earp room was better than I was expecting for such an old building. It was clean with a decent working AC and bathroom. I would have given 5 stars across the board except I had an issue with not being able to turn on the overhead fan without turning on the light as well. So to have no light, I had to have no fan. That wasn’t too big of a deal in the long room. I would definitely consider staying here in the future!
- Lori (10/5): - We loved this room. It’s within walking distance to town. We did move the loveseat to the end of the bed so we could see the tv and I wish there was a table for making or eating food. The decor fits perfectly into the Wild West theme and we enjoyed sitting out on the bench in the evening enjoying the Mountain View.
- James (6/5): - Very cute but outdated. Old windows with no screens. Ceiling fan would only stay on if light was on. Only one wall AC in back bedroom that was horribly loud and extremely old, for entire area. Tv had no local channels. APPs only. Only 1 tv. No table. Back bedroom window opens to see the wall of the next building. Very cute property. Historical property but if your looking for modern amenities this not the place for you.
- Samuel (10/5): - A very nice place- exceeded my expectations-
- Lieutske (8/5): - Thank you for accommodating our fleeting stay!
- Anthony (6/5): - Beds were comfortable. Bathroom had to be cleaned.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Our room was clean and comfy
- Kelly (10/5): - Great place to stay! Plan to stay again next visit to tombstone.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great old property with a lot of history. Short walk to main street.
- Ebony (10/5): - Beautifully authentic. The back room stays really cold and the front room was really warm, but otherwise absolutely loved our stay. Staff was polite and accommodating. Gorgeous views of the mountains.
- Stephen (10/5): - We had a brief but great stay.
The room was clean and more spacious than anticipated. The managers were right next door, friendly and helpful
Super close to all the spots in Tombstone.
- Brett (4/5): - the air conditioner made a lot of noise and there wasn’t a tv in the bed room
- Amanda (8/5): - Shower needs a curtain that reaches the floor and a shower head that lets water out but overall all very quaint. Great experience overall but not for a bougie person 😉
- Bruce (4/5): - We liked the fact that it was the oldest lodging in Tombstone, and it was in walking distance to the town.
We didn't like the uncleanliness of the room. Dirt, garbage was found under the night stand, the kitchen sink is grossly dirty, especially the drain. The shower floor was a bit scary. The windows were not secure, there was no lock inside to keep anyone out in case they knew the code to the door's punch in numbers. We blocked the door with a cane. We tried to lock the windows, they are very old and stiff. It was noisy from the main road, huge trucks passing through in the evening and night that didn't during the day.
- Kyle (8/5): - Clean and walking distance to all historic tombstone sites and attractions.
- Tammy (8/5): - This property is unique in the fact it is one of the first motels in Tombstone, but that also makes it an old property. The shower was very small. It is within walking distance to the attractions in Tombstone. It was clean and we would stay again.
- Bridgett (10/5): Will rent again. - It was a nice place for the cost.
- Trina (10/5): Great stay - There was a side porch/patio. We were very late checking in and was sent a code to use to get in, which was great! If we needed anything we just asked and they were very helpful. This hotel is a 1870 something so remember that. Close to everything
- Dalyce (10/5): - Loved how cute it was.
- curtis (10/5): Dream come to life - Great. The free breakfast across the street was over a third of the price of the room if I had to pay for it.That definitely was awesome plus to renting this room.Location of all the sites was one block.Beautiful room and clean.Would love to come back and stay Forever!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Being two blocks from Allen street, most things walking distance. Quiet and comfortable. Will stay here again!
- Diana (10/5): Friendly staff and charming stay - Quaint and charming stay. Fridge, micro, coffee pot, and working tv. Comfy beds. Easy access to main attractions. Friendly staff.
- Jeremy (6/5): Old in a good and bad way - Very old room with a historic appeal. It’s not the Ritz. The door was very difficult to open, the room was quaint and dirty feeling. We chose not to shower as we thought we might get dirtier or electrocuted. Both probably not true. The location was great and the historic feeling of the building made it worth the money. I’d probably stay again for 1 night but not longer.
- Christopher (10/5): - Outstanding, unique accommodations within a short walk of old Tombstone and all the attractions. Not only two beds but two rooms in the unit for my son and I, with a kitchen sink, fridge and microwave. Wonderful artistic touches as well. A
- Rita (10/5): - It was wonderful to stay in a historic location, the room was really affordable the beds were really comfortable and it was within walking distance of all the neat stuff
- Laura (10/5): - Everything in this motel was wonderful! The room actually had two rooms, plus it had a small kitchenette. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located two blocks from the center of town. I highly recommend it!
- Steve (8/5): - The property was nice & clean. It was very easy to walk to Allen St in Tombstone since this place was on Fremont St.
- Tamara (10/5): - For and old place, it is as expected to not be like the Hilton. However, it is very clean, everything we needed, comfortable bed, cool room, internet services, small kitchen, and plenty of space. The service was fast and friendly. & very close to all the events.
- Christy (8/5): - The bedroom and bathroom are tight and the decor is aged (intentionally). Everything was very clean. It took a bit to raise the clerk when we got in and when we were leaving, but he was very friendly and took care of what we needed. It’s kind of a strange set up as there’s no actual office. Parking was right in front of the room door. A very convenient location.
- Mary (6/5): - The town lacks a selection of nice places. While the room was clean, the facility was not. Walking distance to the okd town was a real plus! Myself i didn't feel safe ib that area would not recommend to single women.
- Natalie (10/5): - What an experience to stay at Tombstones first lodging house. We loved it!
- Cerretta (10/5): Tombstone - We stayed at the San Jose house. It was clean and comfortable and a great location. Jose was very nice. As expected an older hotel but I would stay there again.
- Byron (10/5): - Close proximity to historical sites.
- Room (6/5): - It was clean but also Needs maintenance.
- Brian (6/5): - The property was clean and close to attractions and dinning. However, the shower was very disappointing! The low-flow shower head was so weak that it took over five minutes for any warm water to arrive. I even turned on the bathroom and kitchenette faucets to speed up the process thus eliminating any water savings the low-flow shower head would have saved. What would have been a 5 minute shower, turned into 20 plus minutes of running water. Very disappointing to wake up too!
- Neal (8/5): - Old western town not a big city. It was a pleasant stay. Wish shops in the area were open past 5pm.
- madeline (10/5): - Good
- Sherry (10/5): - Unique. In the heart of town. We could walk to everything. Comfy mattress. It's one of the oldest buildings in Tombstone. Very clean.
- Karen (4/5): - There was no where to check in. You called a number and they might or might not answer. We still have not received a bill that we requested. This shouldn’t even be on an Expedia list
- Susan (2/5): - I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. No hot water, had to request bedding.Best part of stay was it is a short walk to everything.
- Joshua (10/5): - Building was built in the late 1800's really cool aesthetics and history. perfect for visiting a place like Tombstone. the amenities are limited which is to be expected of a historical hotel however the check in was really easy and the communication was grate. Located in walking distance of most the attractions in Tombstone I was absolutly trilled with my stay.
- Robert (2/5): - If I could give this place zero stars I would. The heat did not work in the room, there are no towel racks plus the room was filthy. Bonus: the holes in the walls where the towel racks USED TO BE are patched, but not painted.
There is no reason to stay here. EVER. Sleep in your car.
- Kathryn (10/5): Awesome place to stay! - We planned a short trip to Tombstone, and it was our first time there. We wanted to stay somewhere unique, and this fit the bill! Just a few blocks from the main street, it was a great location. The room was cute and the bed was really comfortable. The manager was amazing and very accommodating. We'll definitely stay here again!
- Dolores (8/5): - Happy that I was close to everything.
- Kay (8/5): - The one and only heating device was so loud we could not sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Definitely one of the oldest places in tombstone - The bed was clean, but the floors, bathroom not so much. Definitely an experience. Shower was tiny and warm water took 5 minutes to arrive. It was within walking distance of the main tourist area.
- Timothy (8/5): - Only complaint was no hair dryer or creamer in room. Bed was soft for my taste, but would stay there again.
- Allison (2/5): Giant lack of communication and hospitality - I had reached out to the property multiple times (as their instructions ask) because I was going to be arriving late. I never received a response from them or a call back.
When I arrived I rang the bell multiple times (as instructed on the door) and made attempts to call the number listed on the door and there was no answer.
Due to this I was unable to utilize the room and had to find another place to stay for the night.
I did what was asked of me and I did reach out to let the property know I would be later. But they did not hold up there end. I was unable to stay in the room that was prepaid for due to their lack of return communication and hospitality.
I fully intended to stay in the room that night and was physically unable to due to the reasons listed above.
I am incredibly unhappy with this lack of hospitality and customer service.
Don’t bother trying to stay here.
- Charlene (10/5): Great place to be in Tombstone - This was an easy check-in. The rooms were warm and clean. You can stream, which is a great option not all small hotels offer. It feels authentic to being in Tombstone. It was an excellent stay.
- Chris (10/5): - One of the best and easily affordable options in town. Close to just about everything, Allen street is literally a block away. Now this place is old, however, it has just all the amenities you need. It's quite rustic, so it's not like a Hilton or something. I've stayed 3 times and I will be back again.
- Mark (8/5): - Good location
- Mark (8/5): - Good location
- Alyssa (10/5): - The room was clean, comfortable and within walking distance to attractions.
- William (10/5): - Great lodge!! Close to everything- food, saloons, activities. Parking right outside of room. Has heater/ac, clean room. Extra Sink and coffee machine
- Faith (8/5): - This property was a plesant suprise. Tge beds are comfortable and the location was convenient. Unfortunately my email and phone messages were never returned so I was not able to make arrangements to check in at 3 like I wanted to. The office hours are from 5 to 10 pm. Overall we were pleased with our stay. Even for New Years Eve the area was quiet, tge room was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. We will stay again.
- Jason (10/5): Nice room great location - It was a nice, old west style room. Room was clean with very comfortable beds. It's only a block from historic Tombstone so couldn't ask for a better location. We would definitely stay here again!
- Kenneth (8/5): - We picked it for the history not the comfort. And that’s what we got.
- Debra (6/5): - Historical part was amazing
The property not so clean.
- Kamran (2/5): - Nothing
- Rick (6/5): - Felt like stepping back into the Wild West. Large gap/draft under the front door and cracks around the windows. Dust on lampshade, let shower run for 5 minutes to get hot water and drain was slow in shower. Shower curtains were yellow at bottom. Bed was comfortable.
- Mark (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, cozy, accommodating and very historical.
- Joe (10/5): Great stay - Great stay. Easy to check in/out. Room was clean. Have to understand it’s a historic building and not expect a new build. No complains. A block away from the main strip.
- Jennifer (10/5): - It was a wonderful cute little place had a old feeling to it.
- jennifer (6/5): - Ceiling fans had alot of dust and the air filters on ac unit. Needed papertowles and no foot towel when getting out of shower. Dirty. I had to go to doller general to get cleaning supplies
- Jose (10/5): - Everything was good. Close walking distance to the crystal palace. If you sit outside late enough you can hear what the ghost tour has to say about the hotel room you're staying in lol. Fun trip the kids loved it. Would highly recommend
- Jeanne (8/5): - Older property which gave the Tombstone experience a more authentic feel.
- Michelle (2/5): - We checked in at 3 pm and left at 3:40 pm. Overall the worst experience in tombstone we've ever had.
Room could have used a deep cleaning. Black gunk around the drain in the sink. The area we were allowed to park was the middle of an ant bed. They took the money out prior to the stay. Expensive lesson but we won't go back.
- Ruben (10/5): - Great small management. Attended to my needs.
- Matthew (4/5): - When we got there we were greeted by a huge spider. The place is dingy and literally falling apart. The walls were wet. When we got back from diner we found a scorpion in the sink and multiple roaches! We almost slept in the car. There was a huge gap under the door were bugs and rodents can walk right in. Says Wi-Fi but there was none. Says room service. This was a joke. Don’t stay here. It’s like a tent with holes in it!!
- Evelyn (10/5): - Due to allergies. We had to leave early. Room was musky with old smell.
- Rob (10/5): - Being that the property was built in 1879,it was awesome! All
- Vianey (10/5): Very nice. - I very much enjoyed my stay. The bed was a bit too high and feel like the air conditioner wasn’t as cold. But overall, really enjoyed the stay and history of the hotel.
- Terri (10/5): Fun - Very quaint old hotel very close to historic Tombstone! Amazing view. Slight road noise.
- Kenneth (6/5): Unimpressive. - With some effort this could be a quaint, old, historic place to stay. Unable to speak to the management after multiple attempts by phone. Left messages no one returned my call 4 days before my visit. No bedding for hide-a-bed.
- Deborah (8/5): - It was unique, close to everything and liked the way the 2 beds were set up
- Steven (8/5): - One of the better options if you want walking distance into downtown Tombstone. Don't expect too much as building was originally built in late 1800's. Room was clean and manager was attentive.
- Heidi (6/5): - Hotel was mostly clean. Shower curtain needs replacing as it was mold at the bottom. Air conditioner mad a lot of noise so my husband was happy. He sleeps with white noise. Overall the hotel was run down. Could be a cute boutique hotel with some updates.
- Janet (10/5): - Nostalgic close to attractions and feel of the area. Loved are stay at the San Jose House. We definitely will be back.
- Keeli (2/5): - Checked into this property prior to doing a ghost tour, unfortunately we did not check the beds prior to doing the ghost tour and when we returned to the room at 11pm, discovered the bed was full of what looked like roach droppings. We also found a dead cockroach in the shower. Contacted the office with no answer. We ended up driving an hour to find a hotel with availability in the middle of the night. Two days have past and management has still not called up back and we have no received a refund for a room we never even stayed in due to it’s condition.
- David (8/5): - It was built in 1879
- Joe (10/5): Oldest Hotel in Tombstone - Did not know the history of this hotel before we stayed there. Make sure to look it up first pretty amazing stories come out of this hotel, Jose was super nice and friendly had no problems with the place at all. Have to remember that it was built in the 1870s had a great time, especially after reading
- Anna (8/5): Sweet hotel - It was very comfortable and unique, definitely would stay there again, easy to walk to allen street,
- Kenneth (4/5): Rustic Room - Let’s call this place Rustic. It’s located at the edge of Historic Tombstone. That’s the great thing about it. Other than that, it’s really just a very old house that was turned into three connected units. Located anywhere else this location would be a 1 out of 10.
- Leonard (10/5): - Really unique and old west feel. Small, easy parking, responsive management. Nice front porch .
- Angela (10/5): - What an awesome place!! Very comfortable and clean!!
- jason (10/5): - enjoyed staying once again thank you!
- WENDY (4/5): - Old hotel. Which is okay, I dont mind the older hotel but it smelt like cat pee. Would not stay again. Was hoping it would go along with the Tombstone atmosphere and it did, except for the smell.
- Joseph (6/5): - We thought it would be cool to stay in the oldest guest house In Tombstone but really it’s just old. AC sqeaked continuously. Kitchen sink/ cabinets were really worn. GREAT location though.
- Ozzy (10/5): - Historical value and very near all the attractions
- Jason (8/5): Old but comfortable - It's a great spot. An old hotel with a history. I guess that's why it's hard to make it a top notch hotel. There are some things that are probably better kept as they are. They've done some modernisation, but maybe a few more ways to enhance the stay, like having the manager more available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Georjann (10/5): - I loved staying in such an old historical building. It was very centrally located and walking distance to everything in Tombstone. We stayed in room 4, Doc Holiday room. The bed was comfortable. The tiny bathroom was clean and functionable. I wish they would post the WIFI password in the room. We would definitely stay here again.
