Guest Reviews
- peter (4/5): - Lå ud til floden, flot.
Det var ikke morgenmad og værelset var ikke rent ved ankomst.
- Pranab (10/5): -
- Christa (6/5): Budget option near Denali. - It was quiet with a nice view of the river. The lack of courtesy shuttle was annoying and not in line with other resorts in the area. The food trucks were helpful, but more food options would be appreciated. My biggest frustration however was the lack of fans / AC on the rooms.
- James (7/5): -
- René (6/5): -
- Malini (6/5): - Did not like that food opportunity was less.
No wifi included. In today's times wifi in a property is important.
Room did not have basic coffee amenities. Might be a good idea to add.
Lovely location. Scenic n quiet.
Would still recommend
- Tedi (6/5): - We stayed one night. It was convenient. We were hoping that there was a result coffee shop onsite.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Natalia (8/5): Bueno relación calidad precio - Las vistas No tenía restaurante pero ofrecía food trucks
- ZIYI (9/5): - 到Denali国家公园很近,Staff很亲切 因为地段原因有些小贵,性价比一般般
- hart (8/5): -
- Kanika (6/5): - The staff was courteous. The rooms didn’t have microwave and the reception microwave was available only until 9 pm. After that there is no option to heat up the food if someone needs.
- Tammy (4/5): Beware - stated amenities do not exist - Cabin was fine and location was close to Denali Park Road. Reason for low rating is the lack of stated amenities - there is no guest laundry, no cafe's (just food truck), market had very little in the store and the TV had 2-3 channels. While our focus was to visit the park, we had chose this resort based on the offerings in the resort - like laundry and a cafe for breakfast (esp since the rooms lack a small fridge or microwave). Quite disappointed - and feel the owners need to update the site and be clear that the resort has no amenities to offer.
- Arpit (2/5): - There was a gunshot in the room next to ours. The bullet went through our wall in the washroom and lodged into the opposite wall. The staff had no idea and only found out about it when we reported it in the morning.
- Ayelen (9/5): Cerca del Parque Denali/ Limpio y amplio - Muy linda habitación con vista al río. Muy cómoda y amplia. A 15 mis del Parque Denali. Nos gustó todo.
- Judy (10/5): - Nice size room with wonderful patio to sit outside and look at the River and fall colors. Easy check in. Appreciated ice maker and ease in getting into Denali park.
Nice little convenience store there and Thai food truck was good ( large portions so plan on sharing one order!)
- Rita (7/5): - Love balcony and tub! Too expensive for area, especially charging for a shuttle, when all others in area included free shuttle.
- Alexander (8/5): -
- June (7/5): -
- Qiaoqiao (6/5): - There is only 30 min free wi-fi. You also need to create an account to get that free 30 min. I would not recommend.
- Montgomery (9/5): View was beautiful room was nice - Looked a lot better in person than in picture That there was no coffee maker or refrigerator or microwave
- Jackie (8/5): Nice area - Clean room
Nice view of river
Only negative was when we asked for more coffee and they acted like 6 pouches was too much.
- haragos (10/5): - Absolutely amazing view with balcony watching the beautiful Nenana River.
- Daniel (8/5): - I liked the location and tranquility of the property. I did not like to have to pay fro Wi-Fi and having to request our rooms to be cleaned.
- NJTravelTrio (9/5): - The location was quiet and the room was comfortable. Its backporch balcony faced the wilderness, with surging river below and tree-covered hillside across. This almost-direct contact with nature was a welcome relief after Anchorage. Easy drive to north to Denali National Park's entrance. The Thai food truck's meals were substantial in size. If you want access to stores and more dining choices, those are located 10 miles north, just north of the Park entrance. Cellphone connection was slow and, to use WiFi more than 30 minutes, would have had to pay fees.
- Sathishkumar (9/5): -
- Kathleen (10/5): - Beautiful location on the Kenana River.
Enjoyed sitting out on balcony listening to the water rushing, birds singing and occasional train whistle.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff.. great location.
- Barbara (9/5): -
- David (10/5): - Close to park
- Daniel (8/5): - Nice wooden lodge. View of river out the back window. The whole property is kind of a hodgepodge of cabins, camping sites, and a large wooden lodge. Not bad though. Very close to the entrance of Denali National Park.
- Katharine (10/5): - Very clean and great views
- Oscar (6/5): Would look for other options next time - Close to park and Denali Village No hotel in this day and age should charge for internet. TV channels limited.
- Gary (8/5): - The place is a bit aged but quiet for sleeping and comfortable. Not a great value but fairly priced for the area.
- Sukesh (2/5): - Had called to upgrade to cabin. Cabin cost was over $2400 for three nights. Cabin was extremely unhygienic with old furniture, dark and dingy, and very poor beck room with green film on washbasin. We moved to single room as that was better. Property did not adjust price even though the cabin was inhabitable!
- Yuk Kwan Sylvanus (6/5): - 我不喜歡他們的床太小了。
- Brad (10/5): - Beautiful place on the river. Be ready for the turn. Right on the hill. Great place.
- MICHELLE (10/5): Gr - Was amazing views. The room was clean just came in with a bunch of flies we had to let out. They were very helpful and friendly.
- Iwona (5/5): - Dobra lokalizacja , szczególnie dla osób które chcą odpocząć od cywilizacji. Domek czysty z wygodnymi łóżkami. Brak bieżącej wody w pokojach. Domek za mały jak dla czterech osób.
- christopher (4/5): - Not bad at all. Reason I gave it 2 stars was lack of hot water on my second day. Explained this to staff at check in desk and they didn't even acknowledge the problem
So 2 stars.
- Gasselle (7/5): Nice hotel close to Denali - The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel was a short drive from Denali National Park, and it had all the basic accomodations we were expecting Our last day the hotel did not have power, however, that was not that inconvenient and the power got back a few minites before leaving the rooms.
Some rooms and heating system smell a bit bad.
- Santanu (10/5): - its a nice and beautiful place to stay.
- Jamie (6/5): Expensive for not much. - I booked a double room, 2 beds. We arrived late at night and when we got to the room there was only one bed. My son decided to sleep in the chair and was uncomfortable all night. The next day they were able to change rooms for us but offered no discount for the issue the first night. I paid way too much for an uncomfortable night, and we ended up leaving a night early just to get home to comfort.
- Wade (6/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Buona posizione per visitare il parco. - Posizione ottima. La camera è confortevole. Soggiorno di tre giorni non hanno mai pulito la camera.
- Doug (2/5): - Woke up to no running water or electricity.
- mew toong (3/5): Bare minimum facilities, cashing in for the summer! - No cooking area, Washing machine broken, a very plain facilities.
- Veronica (10/5): - Location The coffee in the room was tasteless
- Lisa (8/5): - Great location
- Melanie (10/5): - Great stay
- Rebecca (4/5): - For the price of the property I was expecting something better.
Everything was clean, but needs updates. No fridges were offered or available. Blow dryers in bathrooms did not work and the room had an awful smell. Room cleaning services were not available everyday of our stay. I emptied out our garbage and asked for clean linens when
needed. Parking also was terrible.
There was two food trucks on the property but nothing else besides and overpriced store. I wished we would have stayed somewhere else, especially for the price point.
- John (6/5): - Adequate
- Altman (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Polite and respectful - Our second stay and enjoyed the stay both times! I needed a first floor and the clerk easily changed the room to help me !
- Nicole (5/5): A little too far from the park, not really work the price. - Nice view of river off balcony. Mostly helpful staff. Crack across bathub, water had soaked under so tub bottom was spongey and soft. Carpet not vacuumed well, dusty.
- Divakar (6/5): Decent comfort for wild Denali National Park - Old cabins, decently clean, costly food, not much service.
- Susanne (8/5): Great location and clean accomodations. - Denali Grizzly Bear is very close to the national Park and is on the main road. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our room had a small balcony overlooking a river which was very nice. The beds were both doubles. The room was rather warm after a sunny summer day. The property is kind of a jumble of buildings and campsites, with food trucks for lunch and dinner.
- Mary (8/5): - Food truck. Beds were gine
- sandeep (10/5): - Best place to stay during Denali visit.
- Roberta (9/5): -
- Sairam (8/5): - The room was too hot and no fans
- Justin (10/5): - Great location
- Schultes (9/5): We would stay here again. Great staff!! - Easy location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet area. Loved our view from deck. Microwave in room
- Mark (9/5): - room, view Store should open at 6 am, not 9 am.
- celine (8/5): Pretty room - The rooms are pretty ask upstairs with river view . The residence itself is a little old
- hiba (10/5): - The staff so nice and helpful
- Lina (4/5): Disappointing - not a hotel - From the moment we walked into the check in area & were greeted by a young lady who spoke pigeon English and was not helpful with info related to the place to the moment we left , we felt we had made a big mistake to have chosen this place . The staff must have skipped charm school & forgot to attend customer service training too . The room was adequate in size , had plastic cheap chairs on the balcony and no amenities at all . No fridge , no freezer nor any place to store our clothes other than a few hangers . Internet :free ½ hour did not work; 7$/h for internet in a place where phone signal is not great makes it an obsolete place that cannot be called a Hotel. Most motels in the USA offer more amenities for a decent price . When we checked in, we were told that we had to go across the road , highway , to another hotel , to use the toilets or have breakfast since neither were on offer in this place that cannot be called Hotel . We paid almost $1500 for 4 nights in a place that is very disappointing. There are a few more places that offer better service and accommodation for similar prices . Book a long while ahead and avoid this place unless your goal is to feel like a mug & be ripped off . Denali park is lovely but not at this price . This is extortionate to be treated this way .
- Sujatha (8/5): - The accomodation was good. Very close to the park. The big negative was that there was only 30 minutes of free wifi.
- Patrick (10/5): - We stayed in an upstairs room in unit B. Nice little balcony overlooking the river. Quiet. Nice breeze through the room if you open the front door. Food trucks were marginal. However, we had a car and there are plenty of other dining options in the region.
- Bob (8/5): - The resort is a very nice, rustic woodsy resort. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
- christy (7/5): -
- SANTHOSH (10/5): - Beautiful property with excellent view of river.
- James (10/5): -
- Amir (2/5): -
Paid $140 for Wi-Fi for two phones over two days. Being stuck in the mountains with no reception, it’s frustrating to be charged so much—feels like you’re taking advantage of guests who are desperate just to get online and manage their affairs. On top of that, there’s no fridge to store anything, and the TV looks like it’s from 2001.
- Andreea (6/5): - Based on the description and pictures, I expected all rooms to be overlooking the river. Incorrect. 3 large buildings were overlooking the river, but several others were not. And of course our rooms did not. What made it worse is it looked like most of the rooms that did overlook the river were vacant.
- ANDREW (10/5): Nice place to stay. - Nice quiet place with a great view. We had a river view room and even spotted some wildlife. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was super friendly.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great room. No elevator or baggage waiter, so you have to tote your bags up the stairs if you happen to be on the second floor. Train whistle was a little loud as it came thru during the night. Other than that, overall stay was good for a last minute booking.
- colleen (9/5): -
- michael (10/5): - Nice room
Right on the river
- Audrey (7/5): - Something other then just food trucks for eating.
- Carla (8/5): - It is a lovely rustic family run resort. Its a beautiful setting amidst great tall pines alongside the small river. It gets you away from the Denali rush yet is close to everything. It is my 3rd stay there and will stay again if I return to Denali park.
- Ayeshi San (8/5): Not bad - The room by the river No decent food. Thai and Chinese food truck was the only option for food. It would be great if they have a decent restaurant.
- aastha (8/5): - The river view from the cottage was beautiful. Lodge is old but well maintained. Thai Food truck on the property had some amazing vegetarian options. The staff were very nice and helpful. They also let us check in 1 hour early without any issues as our rooms were ready.
- Dhirendra (8/5): -
- Nazish (2/5): - Check in took forever. Reception said that I booked through Expedia so I’m not in the system
- Alice (8/5): - Scenic views, amenities and adjacent dining options. Bathroom could've been cleaner. WiFi not available free of charge.
- Rucha (8/5): - Good for budget
- Emily (10/5): - This was cute, sweet, and to the point. Clean with a private bathroom. No AC but the sliding door let in plenty of breeze. Super close to Denali National Park. Staff was super friendly!
- Stephenie (10/5): - Excellent! Clean. The location on the river is PERFECT. The best part of Denali for us.
- breanna (7/5): Great! Would book again - It was cozy, bed was comfy. The rooms and areas were clean. There are no fridges in the rooms. I saw there was a crack under the main door for light to come in.
- CD (6/5): - Nice property better restaurant variety would be better.
- Rebecca (10/5): I love this place! - My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Grizzly Bear Resort. I loved the room and the river view. Also, the food trucks on the property were very good. The resort is close to trails in Denali National Park.
- MAOST (6/5): - Hotel ist i.O., mehr nicht.
Alles eher ein bisschen alt, aber ok. Ringhörig. Kleine Betten!
- Tomasz (9/5): -
- Kynta (8/5): - Great place to rest for a few nights. The food at the Thai food truck was yummy!
- Silke (8/5): -
- kevin (9/5): It was great - Everything went well Store opens too late for coffee, laundry tokens etc
- Chue (10/5): One day in Denali stay - Excelkent stay. Close to Denali and a beautiful view of the Nenana River from my back patio. The office receptionist were awesome. Would definitely come back!
- Nanako (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay.
I booked this place to join the Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour, and everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, the view from the window was amazing, and the shower had great water pressure. The staff at the office were all kind and helpful. Thank you very much!
- YINUSA (10/5): - Great location and clean room
