Guest Reviews
- Gian (6/5): - Out door pool is great and the surrounding as always. Staffs are very accomodating and friendly.there was a typhoon on our stay. Unlucky no aircon working as they are only generators,nd no bubbles on room pool jacuzi but they promise to give us voucher for another night.
- Maurito (10/5): - Soy Y Viento is an excellent place for hot springs. Majority of the water comes from Mount Makiling; it means that the water is very relaxing and cures most your body pai. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food are excellent and very fresh. I do not mind coming back next year; for me to enjoy the hot springs from the pool. Thank you, Soy Y Viento and it is well appreciated.
- lilibeth (6/5): - I felt unsafe especially going down the area
- Sheryll (8/5): - Awesome
- Romana (6/5): - I stayed in this resort two years ago. My recent stay was not as good as the first one. The facility really lacks maintenance. The bathtub has gone brittle that it cracked when I was doing my shower. As I looked out of my room window, I saw this disgusting makeshift roof patch on the resort’s driveway. The elevator gets stuck. The plants around the facility have many dead branches and leaves, obviously needs maintenance. Breakfast and coffee is not hot. Construction going on in the parking area, where there are a lot of trash. On the positive side, the staff are still courteous and hot spring pools are still recommendable. So, I would suggest to pay for a day use of the pools and skip staying in its hotel.
- KEN (10/5): Will definitely return and stay longer. - Wonderful location, staff extremely friendly and very professional!!! Very clean, modern updated, the view is spectacular! Everyone takes pride in working there and they stand ready to do everything to ensure your stay is marvelous!
- Ria (8/5): - We like the cozy vibe of the place.
- 182sundayb (10/5): Family Bonding - We are very much satisfied having selected this place for our family bonding. The staffs are very courteous and helpful, from cleaner, to security guard, cart driver, waiter, front desk and others. Was so thankful for a free upgrade offered. The food at the Bario Fiesta is fantastic for lunch and dinner. Such a wonderful experience.
- uttam (6/5): - Good resort but charges for everything including the towels, shampoo, and key cards. Uses old reusable key card sleeves. The hotel is good but the service is so cheap.
- Sellegi (10/5): 🌟 A Perfect Getaway with Everything You Need! 🌟 - 📍 Location: Nestled in the lush greenery of Pansol, the resort offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains—perfect for a nature retreat.
🙋♂️ Staff: The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Their warm welcome made us feel right at home.
🏊♂️ Amenities: The natural hot spring pools were a highlight—soaking in the warm, therapeutic waters was rejuvenating! Plus, the variety of pools catering to different temperature preferences was a great touch. The pool bar with party sounds added a fun vibe to our evenings.
🚿 Room Accommodation: Our room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with an indoor jacuzzi that was a real treat after a day of exploring the resort. The high-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV with Netflix made it easy to stay entertained and connected during our downtime.
🌊 Water Activities: Whether you prefer a warm or hot dip, the resort’s pools offer something for everyone, making it easy to unwind and relax in nature’s embrace.
🍽️ Food: The restaurant offered a delicious range of local and international dishes. The breakfast buffet was fresh and flavorful, with plenty of options to satisfy every palate.
🐾 Pet-Friendly: We loved that the resort is pet-friendly! They even provided a pet kit with essentials like a food and water bowl, diaper, pet wet wipes, and a plastic bag for poop, making our furry friend’s stay just as comfortable as ours.
- ranjith (6/5): - Nice location. if you do not have transport, it does not work
- martinmm19 (8/5): Nice hot pools l, strange room layout - This resort on a hill over looking Laguna offers many hot pools.
We arrived early around 11am but they wouldn't give us our room before the official check in time at 2pm although the resort was almost empty.
The restaurant offers a huge selection of tasty food.
We took our first meal on the balcony outside the restaurant to avoid the overly ACed interior. Sadly, on the next day, the tables and chairs were moved aside and we had to take the breakfast inside in a run down, diner style place. Too cold anyway!
Our room was a duplex in the main building, a strange layout where you had to climb up to your bed "room" using a very steep and narrow staircase. Poison for my bad knees. The lower part of the room was strangely empty as though someone had removed a table and chairs.
Sadly, the promising pool bar was closed.
- Ara (6/5): - Nice view
- Jeffrey (8/5): - not that fancy but just enough to enjoy the hot spring
- NathanaelN30 (8/5): Travellingpeoples’ Choice: Sol Y Viento - Sol Y Viento is one of the best resorts we stayed in Laguna. Very nice amenities especially the indoor jacuzzi, Costa brava, Cafe Sabroso and Porto Bar. Staffs are also nice. We will be coming back this Holy Thursday 😇❤️ I am bringing my family for a Holy week meditative stay
- GUIDO (10/5): - Staffs are friendly. Clean and secured surroundings. I enjoyed the hot pools and soa.
- robert (8/5): - My wife and I stayed at Sol y Viento for the first time in February 2014. We went because of the hot spring water. This is a large hotel with many pools of various sizes, temperatures. There is an extensive pool area for children on part of the property. We found the pools very clean and enjoyable.
We had two small complaint. First, we found the food and service at the restaurant rather poor. We were surprised at that because the restaurant is advertised as being a branch of the well-know Manila chain Barrio Fiesta, which is known for good, not-to-expensive Filipino food. This branch is below par, though. I suggest Barrio Fiesta management look into it. The breakfast food and service were a lot better than dinner.
The second problem was that our room was a 'loft', meaning the bed is upstairs from a tiny entryway and bathroom. We knew the room would be a loft, but we didn't anticipate how steep and slippery the stairs would be. It's not good for people who might have to use the bathroom during the night.
We will probably use Sol y Viento again but next time we'll rent a different type of room and bring our own food for dinner (there's a 'corkage' charge, though...).
- Ronald (6/5): - The employees were exceptional and very helpful. The overall condition if the hotel is mediocre. They play music too loud during meals and the music was inappropriate for dining. The music played on the weekends was much too loud If you need water or toilet paper they charge you for them. Much more expensive then should be. M
- Honglei (6/5): - Hotspring is the selling point of this resort. Other facilities and services are really not good enough.
- Celso (10/5): - I like the ambience and the scenery
- 528winnied (10/5): 5⭐️ Rooms are cozy n super comfortable! Clean and well maintained, the hot water in-room jacuzzi is spacious- 2x 3 sqm - High speed wifi, cable TV, and other amenities are satisfactory; Food : Cooked perfectly to taste! Makiling breakfast buffet is really memory-inducing.
Their in-house baker: fresh loaf bread.
Service is very personal and efficient. Accommodating and helpful.
- Mariesol (10/5): - The staff were very helpful. The property is nice, however it lacked maintenance. Attention to cleanliness should be done even if the rooms/cabanas show aging already
.
- Monika (8/5): - We stay at the king loft room, its really quiet and quait big. We just need to add one more matresse.
The slides we really would like to try, but the resort dont operate the slides for long time. The stuff dont know any about this problem or what need to be repair. So often we heard at the resto “sorry its not availeble”, and the food really could be much better for the prise
- Reuel (8/5): - Staff were courteous. The person manage the name Mak was very helpful and he’s promoting the resorts.
- mamabelz (10/5): Day trip - For P300 entrance per person, you can enjoy the Hotsprings. Separate toilet and shower facilities available for day trippers.
Food and drinks can be brought in. Bring your own utensils, paper cups and ice. We got charged P40 for a bucket of ice and P100 for towel service.
Barrio Fiesta restaurant available on site. Food can be delivered to tables near the pool.
Hotel rooms available at 2pm check in. I did not stay in hotel. Just a day tripper.
- Donna Laja Mae (10/5): Best resort in Calamba! - Sol y Viento is my favorite relaxation destination near Manila. The staff are friendly and veey accommodating. Checking in is easy and the room is already prepared upon check in including the jacuzzi (it’s warm filled with hotspring water). The food is great as well!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I had a less than satisfactory experience at the hotel due to some issues with the air conditioning, the shower head, and the bed.
The air conditioning unit in my room was not functioning properly, making it difficult to sleep comfortably at night.
Due to the failure of the shower head, I felt like I was in a rural cabin in the 1970s that was completely unmaintained because no one came for a while.
The bed also had a broken spring which caused my back to ache the next day.
These issues were disappointing and detracted from my overall experience at the hotel.
- Magnus (2/5): Not good, description is wrong, electrical dangers - The waterslide was closed and abandoned since years. But it was in the Hotels.com profile, so we where basically tricked to book this hotel. We booked this because we have kids. The room was bad, in a corner and the backyard was the view. Electric cables sticking out from the lamp by the bed, toilet not working, no water innthe bathroom when we arrived, empty minibar. The woman assigning the seats in the restaurant looked angry all the time. The hotsprings was open and actually ok. We ordered drinks and it took 1h to get them, ordered again and it took 1h, 20 min to get that order, then we gave up and went to the restaurant far away on the second floor to order. It took 5 minutes to get them ourselves. Overall it's an old hotel, worn down and not modern. Was probably nice in the 70's or early 80's when it was built, but it's days are over. Don't recommend any westernes to stay here, it caters for the local filipinos. The breakfast was filipino, and if you been to the Philippines you know it means canned beef, pork longanisa sausage and rice. Not eatable for westerners, but a normal breakfast in the Philippines. We tried the restaurant in the evening and it was normal Philippine food, nothing out of the ordinary. Anyway overall it's in my view a 2 star hotel with flaws, and I lived in various hotels all over the world.
- T4730GZellac (8/5): Breathtaking View and amazing private hot springs - Before going to the location, you will come across some slum’s area and poorly maintained road. Afterwards, A relaxing and serene place. The place is huge and great overlooking view. No need to worry as the place has great and friendly security.
The resort is amazing but lacks maintenance in some parts. It has several hot spring pools with different temperatures. The kid’s pool with slide was not functioning. It could be open during summer season.
I love the cottage that we had. It was very clean and nice bed. Also, had a kitchenette and small dining. The best was the private hot spring jacuzzi inside the cottage. There was some minor issues as the bubbling wasn’t working. I called the maintenance but didn’t worked. But, overall it was very relaxing and hot.
In terms of food, the place has a barrio fiesta restaurant. The food was good. The service was amazing.
I will definitely back come here.
- Aaron Toto (8/5): - Staff are friendly and attentive to the needs of their guests.
- cardinaljerson (10/5): Awesome - stayed here with my family we stayed at cabana 2 and 3 with our own indoor jacuzzi and the pool is nice so as their hot spring food is good and staff friendly amd nice and very attentive to all our needs and request , will definitely come back for sure
- bhel17g (10/5): pandemic breather - The place is very nice. We stayed in one of their Cabanas with 1 King size bed. It was raining very hard when we were there but it wasn't a problem for us since we have a jacuzzi inside our Cabana! It was not just an ordinary jacuzzi but it was hugeeeee thatb4 - 5 persons can fit in all at the same time. Water comes from hot spring so, it was therapeutic. It has bubble and jet massage which made it more relaxing.
The staff are all very courteous and attentive.
They only have one resto inside which is Barrio Fiesta so, it was a bit pricey. The food was good. They also offer room service.
They were also very keen on following the health protocols.
We really had fun. On our way home, we were already talking when are we going back to the place, that's how much we liked our stay.
- CherryQ402 (4/5): Good service BUT Old Facilities - I love the customer service. People are efficient, kind and accommodating.
Our cabana room looks very old. Dirty faucet knobs, Broken DoorKnobs and we stayed at 205. The doors are unsafe. Double locks removed maybe pried open before and they did not bother replacing.
Wifi not working. Both Globe and Smart Mobile data super slow.
- sweetkinships (8/5): Relaxing Treat - We were looking forward to coming back here this year. However, due to circumstances such as the Taal Eruption and now COVID-19. We will have to schedule for another time.
We went here during the 2017 birthday of my son. The place is very beautiful. If you're looking for a relaxing treat away from the stress of the city, this is one of the places to be.
There are lots of pools to choose from, the rooms are well kept and the buffet is fantastic. The crews are also very nice.
We will be back soon!
- JuanTomas23 (10/5): Valentines Retreat - We stayed at Cabana 8 for Valentines day. The indoor private jacuzzi was such a treat for couples. The rate that we paid for also includes access to all swimming pools and a good breakfast. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Wifi was surprisingly fast. We had some minor issues in our private jacuzzi but they were right off the bat to fix it as the front desk was very responsive.
Just expect lots of leg exercise going to and from the Giant slides area.
- 907andreww (8/5): Worked out well - Booking this place is incredibly difficult, poor communication. Went with a group of 16 across three rooms. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The water slides are far down from the rooms. A very steep walk -- excellent exercise.
I stayed in a Cabana Room. Very nice. I enjoyed the in-room hot spring. The views are awesome.
The food quality is not great. Tolerable. I was surprised, it wouldn't take much to improve it. We ate out, other than breakfast.
The hot spring is awesome. Soaking my body in the water for a few days, and feeling great as a result forgives much. I'd stay here again.
- ruby101616 (8/5): My Mom’s favorite getaway😊 - Aside from its accessibility, Sol offers a serene refuge after a tedious merry celebration. The air, view, cabana, pools, service- so awesome❤️ Missed the cart though over the wheelchair for my mother
- 257narumin (8/5): Last Minute Christmas get away - My father wanted to spend Christmas out of town, we were originally booked in a different resort but needed to cancel the reservation. We searched for nearby resorts and found Sol Y Viento, The reservations Agent Charise who helped assisted me in getting a reservation is very accommodating, most of the rooms are sold out so we ended up in the rooms that was meant for 10 pax, the accommodation is far from the pool and there is a lot of stairs :) I would also like to commend their bartender James, despite of having few colleagues to assist him, he still did his job well and accommodate us. Will think of coming back again and we might book their suites.
- huhsmile (8/5): Great amenities, not so great food options - Pros:
The Cabana room (7.5k Php) with the jacuzzi is great. Wifi is great. Water is great. Concierge is great, the employees are very nice.
Cons:
Their in-house restaurant, Barrio, has ok to subpar Filipino food. The milkshakes tasted like syrup(the strawberry flavoured one wasn't very good, the chocolate one was more okay) I actually am not sure if I finished an entire meal from their menu. Unfortunately, during our stay, the Pancake House was closed, and their old Japanese restaurant was no longer active. I thought Barrio didn't offer a lot of variation, and also what they currently have isn't something to crave.
They also have a weird policy with their wines. I was about to buy a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from their room service, but I said we might open it late into the night (maybe around 1am) so they could just leave us a wine key. But the room service employee stated that they're not allowed to do it, they're supposed to open it once it gets there (but it was only about 8pm at the time). I felt like it was so weird and pushy of them to police the existence of a wine key in a room that I just didn't buy a bottle from them anymore.
Tldr; amenities are great, food no, food policies no.
- elainecas_07 (6/5): Nice pools, room is another story... - Had very high hopes and expectation with this resort since it is the sister hotel of our favorite hotel in Tagaytay- Alta d Tagaytay. Here are my pros and cons during our stay:
PROS:
- easy to find, near the Batino access road.
- Hot spring pools are very relaxing 👍👍👍
- very nice view of Laguna de Bay and sunset
- friendly restaurant staff
- food in Barrio Fiesta is good but some dishes are not always available
- lifeguard is present in the swimming area
- have guest bands every Friday and Saturday
- accommodated our request to have someone buy us some inflaters outside (with a fee but its okay since its a special request)
CONS:
- looong check in process (the lady had to write in manual receipt the breakdown of all charges with corresponding tax)
- price of room is not equivalent to the quality of the room. Booked the Standard room at php5,300/night with 2 single beds. NO REF, no natural light coming in (we cant open the blinds or else other guests will see us as they pass outside by the stairs), super old, stained bathroom floors, old-smelling room that triggered my rhinitis, bedsheet have holes, duvet have stains. ☹
- Window locks are defective. We already went out to swim for a few hours and when we came back i thought of checking the windows, there was no lock! Good thing nothing was lost. Housekeeping was able to fix it though.
- everything has a charge. We are already checked in, the Standard room we got is good for 2 but still they charged us for the additional 2 kids for the use of the pool (day tour rate). For the price of the room and as checked-in guests, I was expecting use of pool is included already, same with other hotels we have stayed in the past regardless if the room availed is good for two or more.
- rooms are far from the pool. No elevator, only outdoor stairs. Good thing there was no heavy rain during our stay or else we'd be stuck in our rooms.
- Pancake House is closed so we had to rely on their restaurant for our food during our whole stay.
- we didnt get to use their water park/pool with slides during our stay since there was a private event. It wouldve been nice if we were informed about this prior to booking. We were not able to maximize our stay and the php5600 we paid for.
- breakfast food was bland ☹
- ACSA0791 (8/5): Try the Cabanas with a Hot Springs Jacuzzi Inside - Nice place for a family get-a-way with large pools and a water park with slide.
The Cabana Rooms have hot spring jacuzzis which are a great way to relax at the end of day. These are big enough for four together.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
The slight downside is the breakfast buffet. Limited choices and taste isn’t that great.
- josifienf (10/5): Love thi place... - Overloooking om this hotel is awesome.. My family hotel villa is a bit far from the lobby and pool but its good to stay coz its quiet and huge.. have jacuzzi in the room so kids really enjoyed...hotspring is awesome..
- KaranBummi (10/5): Wonderful Stay, Great property! - This is probably the best resort in Pansol. Lets start with the rooms, I stayed in a cabana and its wonderful, the Jacuzzi in the room is way better than you can imagine. The property has 4 swimming pools with slides and a pool side bar and then another 2 pools (1 waterfall) and 2 open Jacuzzi to enjoy the Hot water springs.
Enough onsite options to eat, food tastes good. The staff in helpful and courteous, you also have free onsite parking if you drive there.
All in all its a great place to relax and spend a weekend with friends/family. Also you can visit for a day trip! Highly recommended, will love to stay again.
