rupert (8/5): A comfortable and economical , friendly place to stay in the centre. - The staff were all very helpful and always cheerful. There is a Supermaxi supermarket 3 to 4 blocks away up a slight hill and is well stocked with everything of immediate use. The kitchen was quite clean and the oven worked well. There was hot water most of the time, so showering was fabulous! Outside is a little garden growing a variety of small trees and flowers, a nice place to relax when the sun is out. Major banks and atm`s are two to three blocks away. My room was very large and close to reception and kitchen. The bed was a bit lumpy, but comfortable never the less.. a bit cold at this time and surges of rain, so I asked for another blanket. The shower was hot, but the walls needed more attention to clean off residue.

Cesar (9/5): Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding, zeer vriendelijke mensen. - Kamers zijn simpel maar precies wat je nodig hebt. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaar en peraoneel die altijd voor je klaar staat. In de avond wordt afgeraden in de buurt rond te lopen. In het hotel ben je volledig veilig.

Jens (8/5): Prijs-kwaliteit zeer goed verblijf - Prijs-kwaliteit top. Vrij luidruchtig (telkens aanbellen van de klanten, ook op zeer vroege/late uren) door matige isolatie. Voordeur staat bijna hele tijd open, waardoor het binnen en tijdens ontbijt zeer koud was (wel voldoende lakens aanwezig). Warmwaterkraantje in badkamer werkte niet.

Y el desayuno hoy delicioso. Si volveremos. Como recomendación si pudieran contar con calefacción en algunas habitaciones para tener una temperatura adecuada en la habitación, mi esposo tuvo mucho frío 😖

The people at the reception were pretty nice I would recommend a variety of bread for breakfast or maybe a bigger portion of fruit but considering the price, I don't complain too much

Unfortunately, Covid has been really hard on those businesses. I hope to see them revitalized, it was a hopping place. I’d still go to El Arupo.

The property itself is well maintained, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Anna was an absolute sweetheart, always smiling and helpful. She made us great eggs for breakfast.
Joel (8/5): - The staff was very friendly, although they apparently didn't speak English. Also I was frequently awoken by either noises outside, from other guests (another guest said he had similar issues), or just the fact that my room literally had no blinds at all. Other than those issues, the place has good breakfast and a nice policy of allowing you to stay inside the Hotel after your time is up (also WIFI which is always nice).

Tour bus pick up at the corner. ATM’s Great staff. Remarkably, as close in as this place is, the street is only 2 blocks long. No through traffic. Absolutely quiet. No barking dogs.

Suzanne (2/5): Beware of Thieves!! - On the 6th Feb, 2019 while I was out touring the city, a thief broke into my room (#9 on the 3rd floor) and ransacked all my luggage. They took my laptop, my iphone, ipod, half my clothes (smaller items) and about $300 cash. The hotel manager said it was "the man next door," but you will have a hard time convincing me it was not an inside job. When I asked to phone the police, I was told "We could, but it wouldn't do any good," so I went to the police station and filed my own report for my records. Beware of this hostal. Do not leave ANYTHING of value in the room (in spite of the false sense of safety given by the locked gate) and do NOT leave your key in the key box behind the front desk when you go out, visible for all to see!

Verified traveler (10/5): - I found this place while in Ecuador because the original hostal we stayed in was super hard for the drivers to find and away from most things. This one was appealing since the reviews said it was near Plaza Foch which is a popular spot with many restaurants and bars. This place is about a minute or two walking distance from it but also a main street for other restaurants or hotels if a tour requires you to meet at the hotel for pick up. The neighborhood felt safe for two female travelers. The hosts were super nice during check in and throughout the stay. Ask the hosts about return to the airport. We paid the same price as a taxi and the person returning us to the airport was prompt and friendly. Place was a decent size and showers are hot. Beds and floor make noise if you are trying to be silent at night but beds were pretty comfy. We stayed for three nights and it was a good experience. Cute and cozy place for a very reasonable price in a good area. Highly recommend.
