Guest Reviews

- salma (4/5): - The property did not have the room we booked so we had to wait there while the receptionist was on the phone and yelling due inconvenience. On the phone she said, âit is your costumer and your problem not mineâ. It felt as if we made a mistake by book the room that was apparently not available. Never going there. But Expedia tried to make it up to us.
- Richard (8/5): - No breakfast available
- Ruth (8/5): - was ok for one night.
check-in was a kind of strange... arrived 3.40 pm check-in was able from 3 .30 pm and found a note at the door, that check-in was at 3 pm and to use a phone number...
did ring the door bell and then someone came...
- Paul (10/5): - We actually stayed here twice- once on the way up and once in the way back. The rooms are good sized and have a good layout. They have fully equipped kitchens and the bathrooms have decent counter space around the sink. The staff was helpful and it was very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
- Alain (10/5): - Clean, quiet and very affordable. Good value for the price
- Robert (10/5): -
- Kristof (9/5): - Clean rooms
Comfy beds
Friendly owner
- marguerite (6/5): - Location and price Dated and rundown but what was expected
- Hollie (10/5): Return to school drive - It was a late check in due to long drive. I called at the Liard Hot springs to say we were not going to arrive untill 1030 pm. They called at that time but it was going to be an hour later. They waited until fornus after opening hours. We were very appreciative for this.
Hotel comfortable. Slept well.

- edwin (8/5): - Forgot we had booked a kitchenette. We were able to dine in and save a few dollars on our trip. Location easy to find and other services -fuel, groceries, dining all available on the same service road.
- Darren (8/5): - Typical motel 6. No breakfast, showing its age. Old style motel. It was ok. We stayed 1 night on our way to the Yukon. On way back we stayed elsewhere. Not that anything was bad with it, there were just better options like a Super8 right next door.
- Marla (10/5): - This is easily *the cleanest* (sparkling clean!) Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. The family that hosts it, is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The parking was so easy, right in front of my room - and the area felt very safe, and the room was also quiet!
There was a clean, lighted, and very well-groomed area for my pup to walk and potty around the back of the motel. The dining options were endless and right outside the door! It was a restful two days from my long drive - very grateful, and would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family too!
- Frank (8/5): -
- Don (8/5): - This was the first night of our five one night stays on our way home from Skagway, Alaska. The room was comfortable, clean and met our needs
- Judy (8/5): - Everything! It would be good if there was a coffee maker in the room. Or did I miss it?
- Luis (5/5): -
- Gordon (10/5): - Front staff lady, possibly the owner.
A very welcoming smile and pleasant to deal with. She even wrote the wi fi code down for me to save me taking out my phone and putting my glasses back on.
I'll be back.
- Michelle (8/5): - Staff was great and accommodating
- Emily (2/5): - The staff greeted us fine- but on check in, the room had an immediate pungent odor of pets and strong cologne. We tried keeping the door and window open but it was clear the smell would not be leaving. We notified the employees who only had a single bed room option left and we needed 2 beds. They told us they could not offer a refund as we booked through Expedia and that Expedia would not refund us either. I phoned Expedia and explained the situation and they offered to call the motel on our behalf and to refund us. Expedia immediately refunded us and also offered us a $25 credit on our account for the inconvenience. 5 stars for Expedia and 1 star for motel 6
- Steeves (7/5): -
- Barbara (4/5): There was - There was not enough towels for every one. The stove had dirty tin trys, that was not good to see.
- Michael (6/5): - I didnât expect much and I didnât need much, as I was just staying one night during my travels. There was no soap provided, only shampoo, so I used shampoo to wash my hands. I founded that to be odd, even for a cheap motel.
- cody (10/5): Work travels - Very comfy and clean centrally located
- Ken (8/5): - Rough parking lot
- Dan (4/5): - Bed smelled
Of
Smoke bath tub was pealing and floor coming apart
- Matthew (6/5): - Very affordable. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Definitely showing its age. For some reason there was no soap in the bathroom, just shampoo.
Had some problems with the door to my room which the manager resolved immediately.
- John (10/5): -
- Breanna (2/5): - Front desk lady was aggressive and all over the place. The gentleman was so nice and I wish he wouldve continued to assist me with my check in. Lady told me no dogs on bed which was fine as my dog doesnt sleep on the bed. There would be an extra $50 charge... for what dog hair? We've been riding in the car for 11 hours with my dog so there is going to be dog hair not only on my husband and I but also on my kids. I also find it comical that you will charge me for that while my kods bed has sand in it and the bathroom wall is actually falling apart. I told the front desk lady there was 4 guest and we only had 2 towels, not even soap to wash our hands.
- Dylan (10/5): - Amazing stay
- Rhonda (7/5): Good -
- Evy (3/5): Not truly pet friendlyâmisleading listing and poor communication - Spacious We booked Motel 6 Fort Nelson specifically because it was listed as pet friendly on Google. I made the reservation through Booking.com (which had the best rate) and clearly indicated we were traveling with a cat. I even requested a pet-friendly room in advance. Motel 6 confirmed the reservationâno mention of any issues.
Upon arrival, after a 10+ hour drive, the receptionist seemed surprised about the cat and asked if I had a cage, saying it was needed so the pet wouldn't leave hair on the bed. I was shockedâthis is supposed to be a pet-friendly hotel. Their posted pet policy says: "we welcome pets with open arms... offering them a comfortable stay at no extra cost." Yet we were made to feel unwelcome and judged.
Even more absurdly, the receptionist warned us that the pet fee could range from $10 to $100 depending on how âhairyâ the bed was upon checkout. This variable fee was never disclosed beforehand, and nothing in their pet policy mentioned cages or a fear of fur.
To top it off, despite their anxiety about cleanliness, the room was not spotlessâthere was visible debris near the entrance.
This is not a truly pet-friendly hotel. Itâs misleading, inconsistently enforced, and poorly communicated. We've already booked elsewhere for our return tripâa place that actually welcomes pets without passive-aggressive policies or surprise fees.
Note that there is not even coffee/tea provided inside the room
- KIMBERLEY (6/5): - Its a tired old motel thats been somewhat modernized. It was difficult to ignore the dust everywhere, bits of food or bugs on the floor, the windows were filthy, the bedspread was stained, we had no extra blankets, just a sheet and bedspread. It was a place to rest after driving all day but it wasn't great. The room had a smell. Express check out is a taped up metal box outside the office- it was just a small detail to care and attention that makes a difference. The positive was great water pressure. It will blast the days worries right off of you- its powerful. It was a bit disappointing as I really wanted to believe it was better. It needs some more love and attention to get anymore stars from me.
- Peter (10/5): - Was good value for the money
- Steven (10/5): - Would stay again
- Sera (6/5): - Price very reasonable for a 1 night stop.
- Denis (9/5): Superb -
- Jeffrey (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing No coffee in room I think is a big no no
- Karen (8/5): - The staff were great. The room was good temperature. The beds were comfortable, however, a bit creaky. Our tv didnât work but they sent someone quickly and he fixed it quite easily.
Good thing I deadbolted the door, as in the morning, the door was closed and âlockedâ but I put my shoulder against the door and it opened easily - both times that I tried to shut it tight! Yikes! I hope they get that fixed.
- Tumbleweed (10/5): Nice place! - Very nice room, staff were great! Convienent to everything!
- Connie (10/5): Great - Big clean room and bathroom. Microwave and refrigerator. Beds and pillows were comfortable.
- Anonymous (10/5): Thanks to the staff! - Clean room! Everything was great.
- Carrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (9/5): Great stay, recently renovated and pet friendly - Recently renovated rooms. Were nicely done! Rooms are quiet, no street noise or neighbouring room sounds.
- Sui (9/5): Superb - Location
Bed is comfortable No coffee or tea in the room
- Mae (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (8/5): - A great motel for the price
- Gary (8/5): - It was a great value.
- Marilyn (8/5): - The room was great with comfortable beds and great kitchen facilities.
To make the stay more comfortable more towels were needed and also more extra blankets as there was only a sheet and thin cover on the beds, with just one extra blanket for two beds.
I appreciated the ground level entrance to our room and the fact that the motel is pet friendly.
The price was good and we will stay there again.
- Karina (10/5): - We had a pleasant stay at Motel 6. It was quiet with easy check-in and parking. The WiFi was reliable. The room was cute and well decorated, and the kitchenette was a great plus. Everything was clean and fresh. Would stay again!
- Curtis (8/5): - It was clean.
- Dale (8/5): - It was ok. Not great
- Brian (8/5): - This is a basic property but well looked after. Staff very friendly and always working to take care of the motel. Room had everything you would need including fridge and microwave. Overall good stay.
- Petrik (5/5): Passable -
- K.j. (1/5): No service of any type - Nothing No ice, No soda machine, No coffee in room, No coffee at office!!
- Barbara (10/5): - Inexpensive, clean and convenient.
- Maksym (10/5): - Excellent
- Caralee (8/5): Very good -
- Dennis (8/5): - I was able to park outside our room which was convenient. good location.
- Karen (8/5): - I have stayed here several times. They often advertise $99.99 per night. They have no breakfast. They have always had clean rooms. The beds and pillows are fine. The shower has good pressure but is installed on the wall at a lower height (probably too low if you are above six feet) and the âbathâ towels are more like oversized hand towels. There is a mini fridge (with no freezer) and a microwave in the room. The parking is right in front of your room. You can easily walk to get food (restaurant or gas station). The rooms are not very sound proof and in my room this time, I could see daylight through the bottom of the door.
- Keven (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (8/5): - Very comfortable and clean.
A very basic Motel 6 type room.
- Phillip (6/5): - First Motel 6 I have ever been told that if my dog sheds too much hair I would be charged extra for cleaning! đĄ Her hair is 1/4â in length and she doesnât shed hardly any. I already cancelled reservations to stay there in 3 weeks on my return trip. There was a bug on my floorâŚmaybe they should worry about that more!
- Evelyn (10/5): Exceptional - Great find, very clean and comfortable itt had everything i needed
- Jason (10/5): - High quality low cost.
- Alain (10/5): - Smooth check-in procees and easy access to rooms
- Karen (10/5): - I was totally surprised with my stay at this Motel 6! My first experience staying in a Motel 6, several years ago and in the states, was horrific. On the suggestion of a friend I decided to go for it and made a reservation. Glad I did. The staff was really nice and helpful, the location was convenient to all Fort Nelson offered and the room was clean.
- Jack (10/5): - Clean. Bright. Pleasant. Basic. Will definitely stay again.
- Jack (10/5): - Very awesome people.
- Michael (10/5): - Rooms look nicely updated. Our room was spotless. Nice tv, nice bed, nice kitchenette, hot shower. Pet friendly was a plus.
- Harold (10/5): Exceptional -
- William John (10/5): Bill - Very friendly
- Nicole (3/5): Poor - The location was nice They will try and nickel and dime you to death. Firstly they falsely claim to be a suite 6 and add charges for pets. Our room was not cleaned or at least not well. Used and dirty cups left, open soap in the tub. Over all motel 6 in Canada is looking like it is run by scam artists.
