Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): Quiet, cosy, romantic and stunning getaway in the forest. - So so quiet! The place was exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfy, it was warm and cosy even tho it was raining and 2 degrees outside. Lots of extra cosy blankets provided, the spa was great. I loved the design and the decor. Will definitely be back! I can’t really think of anything to be honest!
If I had to, maybe thicker and bigger towels? Haha that’s just splitting hairs really
- Melissa (6/5): Pleasant stay - The room was very cosy and inviting. Netflix streaming services were great Not enough fire wood for two nights and coffee and sugar satchels were old. There was no welcome bubbles or chocolate. Unheated kitchen area. For the price we would have liked an 11am checkout and 2pm entry. Outside area could have been nicer to enjoy
- Tamara (6/5): - Garden, location. Kitchen bits are not organised very well.
Towels were incredibly thin.
Place was very cold.
The microwave was powered off which requires you to figure out how to get it working again - must set clock for it to function.
Hot water takes a long time to appear.
- Raso (8/5): - The wood heat didn't provide any heat.
- Brian (8/5): -
- John (9/5): Great place to stay. Perfect location and the surrounding gardens are beautiful. - Location and the size of the rooms. Very comfortable bed. Fire place didn’t work too well.
- Patrick (7/5): Good -
- Gerry (8/5): My sisters and I loved our two day stay would definitely recommend the Beech suite. - Loved the main room with the fire place everthing was exactly what we expected just beautiful thank you . Just a safety issue we felt what is needed is a handrail on the wall coming down the stairs from second bedroom it’s a little dangerous especially if you get up during the night.
Maybe a little extra wood for the fire..
- Blair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (7/5): Lovely stay, would stay again but needs better heating in second room - The location was perfect for us.
The cottage feel was divine and it was exceptionally clean!
The main room was so cozy.
Supplied with all the essentials. The second room was freezing cold, only a small electric heater.
The glass door really needs a cover as the light outside beams in all night.
The TV is very dated.
- Dylan (9/5): Superb - Plz get a better shower head.
The wood storage system could be better. Also get some new fire stokers
- Clint (9/5): Cozy - It was away from the main road and nestled among the trees. The bed was comfortable, and the fire was cozy. But being in the mountains was cold, so the reverse-cycle air conditioning helped when needed. The fireplace only had a small amount of wood, so we ran out on the second night of our three-night stay. If you need more, it is at your own cost from a petrol station, or you can bring your own. The driveway is a little hard to navigate, but otherwise, it was a great stay.
- Darryl (3/5): Never Never Land - The location was close to both Sassafras and Olinda villages but not walking distance because of the busy, windy road. The property presents as a luxury stay but the only luxury was the amount of space offered. Do not be deceived by by the rustic rock and wood look. The rooms were dusty with cobwebs, the kitchenette lacked a working cooking surface, and very few pieces of crockery, the towels provided (1 each) were so thin that you could almost see through them. Outside was overgrown and boggy - no art about this garden. We complied with the request to do the dishes without provision of cleaning clothes and only half a tea towel and to cap this off the cleaning fee turned out to be $185 per stay.
- Ashley (9/5): Superb -
- Breanna (9/5): Great - I liked the way it was set out with the fire heater The tv signal was really bad so it was nearly impossible to watch anything, would of been good with a smart tv
- Ray (8/5): Charming older style residence in beautiful garden with flowing creek. Wood fire was well used. 😊 - Instructions challenged this older guest 😊
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Sometimes unfortunate things happen .. the sewerage system blocked .. …. But I was kept up with t - Just very confusing collecting the keys …
- Rosa (10/5): I would definitely return! - Such a lovely garden and comfortable space to spend a weekend and only minutes from the Botanical Gardens and Olinda township. Loved my stay there! There was nothing that I didn't like! I would come back!
- Sean (9/5): Superb -
- Nichola (9/5): Cosy & relaxing weekend in Olinda - The room was beautiful, high ceilings, lots of wood paneling/stone work, spa bath and a real fire.
The heating was on when we arrived so was nice and cosy. We liked that there was basic cooking facilities so could make breakfasts/ lunches ourself. We had an amazing weekend and even managed to spot a wombat on one of our walks. Nothing, everything was great. We will be back.
- Warwick (10/5): Great -
