Mark Stephen (6/5): make sure you request a good cabin away from reception, and with the advertised view of mount fuji - The cottage itself was okay, quite cozy once you get the heating up and running. It can get very cold inside because the cabins aren’t insulated and they just don’t get the kinds of winters we get in canada. So, you do have to pump up the heat. Everything feels like it could do with updating, and there are little things that are in disrepair. In the one toilet, there's a wire sticking out by the plug. The faucet in the shower room drips. Everything just feels like it's been done on the cheap. All-in-all, it’s a good location because of the view, as long as you get a good cabin. We just didn’t appreciate the reception deception! Also, the one staff member seemed to run everything (no one else seemed able to make decisions), and he wasn’t at all helpful, accommodating, or seemed happy in general. The cabins are very large, and you could probably fit 2-4 adults, and a bunch of kids in the loft. It has a full-sized fridge, small kitchen with the basics, a safe (although it said low battery the whole time), and smart TV. The TV’s in the main room where the large dining room table sits. There’s no snug place to sit and watch TV. We used some of the mattress pads and quilts to create a sort of couch on the floor next to the table. It can get quite windy here, being up on the hill, and you may hear things falling on the roof at night, but that's just part of the experience. It feels very much like staying at your grandparent’s cottage in muskoka or haliburton before they got central heating or insulation. There are 2 toilet rooms, and then a larger space with a sink and separate shower room. There needs to be some hooks and rails in the shower room for towels, clothing, etc. There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Also, hooks are needed by the sink. The breakfast was ok: 2 boiled eggs, bread that you can toast, butter, jam, orange/apple juice, 2 slices of fruit, broth with vegetables (cabbage, carrots, potatoes), and then either sausage or chicken. We had booked months prior to coming, and had made certain requests, and when we got there, they assigned us a cabin E1. It was right across from the reception, on the parking lot, which was noisy with cars coming and going, people talking loudly outside, car doors slamming, etc. It was terrible. We requested another cabin and were told that it’s only at that moment that it would be busy around the cabin. I said, “It’s going to be like this every day at check-in and check-out.” We were then told that no other cabins were available. When we started to get upset, the man running reception then said he’ll show us E2. I thought there were no other cabins available! E2 was even worse because, not only is it also across from reception and on the parking lot, it’s recessed a bit, and you didn't get any view of mount fuji. Again, we went to reception and were looking for other places to stay in the area - it's a lot of money to stay at this place and it didn’t look at all as advertised: cozy, rustic cabins in the hills with nothing but woods all around. We asked if there was perhaps another cabin style that we could switch to. He then said that we can look at E3. Again, I thought all the cabins were occupied!? So, we finally decided on E3 which was a little away from reception and all the noise, although still on the parking lot, and not at all like the woodsy experience that they promote. It did have a great view of mount fuji. The whole experience has left a bad taste now tainting this review, but i’ll try to be objective. Also, there was no cleaning service for any of the days we were there (4 days), which was fine for us, but just wanted to mention it – fresh dishes would’ve been nice. You may be able to request a cleaning.

Helen (9/5): The views to Mt Fuji were lovely from our apartment balcony. - Our balcony overlooking Mt Fuji was the highlight. Large unit with a fairly well equipped kitchen. We had a car so the location was ok for us - very peaceful and quiet. The sento was small but had good jets creating vigorous bubbles which were relaxing to lie in. The only place we’ve stayed at in Japan where there was an additional charge to use the sento.

This place puts on a front of being a hospitable traditional country cottage but it is in fact experienced as a greedy corporate hotel. They send you various message convincing you to buy their dinner/breakfast in advance as there are “not other restaurants in the near vicinity” which is just completely untrue. All under the rouse that this will be a traditional home cooked meal when it is in fact not. There is not even water provided in the rooms, no complimentary tea or coffee from a country cottage. We rented bikes on our first night, we were 45 minutes waiting, it was almost dark. Everything you go to do is an extra charge, it feels like they just want you to be constantly spending extra money on their services that are sub par. Very large hills to walk up to even get to the place with no advanced notice of it. Shuttle buses at inconvenient times. Check in is at 3pm and the first shuttle bus isn’t until 3.15 from the station? Just a very inhospitable place.

Nous avions réservé une chambre jumeaux classique et l’hôtel nous a généreusement upgrade dans un de leurs nouveaux cottages avec notre propre ofuro. C’était magique ! Même si le beau temps n’était pas de la partie, nous avons pu savourer pleinement notre séjour. Rien à dire ! Si ce n’est que l’hôtel est assez éloigné (mais des navettes sont à disposition)

Had an issue with the shower, it didn't run hot water but we didn't mind as we just used the second bath. Also, there was no couch to sit on, just a very long dining table, was a bit inconvenient.

Ana (10/5): A Dream Stay with Unbeatable Mount Fuji Views - Staying at this cabin in front of Mount Fuji is a dream come true. It has everything you need for a long-term stay, plus a touch of luxury with the terrace sauna. The loft is impressive and thoughtfully designed for every need. You have the option to host a BBQ, order food from reception, or bring and prepare your own meals. Plus, you can enjoy the view of the mountain from your window or explore the various hiking trails in the area. The area is quiet, making it very easy to disconnect and unwind. Because of its location is a little far away from everything but it’s the charm of it.

Fuji and the following day the weather was terrible. However, amazing property. They deliver your bags to your room as it is a bit of a way away and on a hill. All the staff are extremely nice. They also offer 3x shuttle buses in the AM and 2x return shuttle buses in the afternoon/evening - just have to book the day prior. It is a little far from Kawaguchiko Station though. Would definitely recommend staying here. the extra beds upstairs in our room were great, however the ceiling was quite low and is not recommended for people with injuries etc as you cannot kneel/stand up, you pretty much have to crawl or sit

Peter (10/5): Great location, great views of Fuji and super clean. - The cottage offered Mt Fuji views from the room which was exceptional. The facility was exceptional clean. I have 2 small kids that love to play. I generally clean every inch of the property with disinfectant wipes. But to my surprise, it was super super clean. They even mop the floors!! Great facility, equipment and location. 30min walk to Oishi Park was worth it. Nothing.
Snedden (9/5): Loved our villa - I loved it all. Our villa with private outdoor soaking tub. The breakfast delivery in the morning. The kindness of the staff. The views of Mt. Fuji were incredible! The floors were so cold bc the heat rises and the mini split heads are seated up high on the walls. I would suggest heated floors!

Egor (9/5): Хороший отель с видом на Фудзи - Отель-кемпинг с видом на гору Фудзи. Мы остановились на один день, поэтому не успели исследовать все, что предлагает отель. Коттеджи были чистыми, кровати удобными, банные принадлежности в наличии. С нашего балкона открывался прекрасный вид на долину у подножья горы. Отдельная благодарность персоналу, за то что помогли с решением нашей небольшой проблемы Мы просили принести завтрак в номер к 9:00, но его принесли в 8:00, чем разбудили нас. Было неприятно. У кроватей нет розеток и прикроватных полок. По прибытию, в помещении было довольно холодно и мы долго отогревали его.

gustavo (10/5): The best place to be to see the Fuji - What's not to like, the view, the view of Fuji from your porch just Amazing, location is amazing, near town and if you dont want to drive you can get a bike. They have a public onsen that we did not try and also a Sauna. the cottage was amazin, very clean and you have everything to cook a meal. (you need to buy salt, oil etc.) Water is drinkable in all of Japan so no need to waste money.

Kelly (9/5): - The veiw of Mt Fuji was incredible. The room was comfortable - there were 2 of us in a 7-10 person cottage. We paid extra for bbq which was cooked ourselves and was very nice. The grounds are well taken care of and the staff were friendly. They did not find my booking, and when they did they had to upgrade us to a bigger cottage as the type we booked were full. They did email me with the correct date a day or so before we arrived. It was quite expensive to stay here compared to others with no tea/coffee + an extra $110 for bbq food.

Chonticha (9/5): Size of the house and location are amazing. - The house is very big and can see Fuji View. The location is closed by the major attraction of Kawakugiko. No cleaning service during our stay and the public bath is small and you have to pay.

ANNA (9/5): - La struttura offre un comodissimo servizio di navetta gratuito. L'appartamento è ben fornito e spazioso, tanto che siamo stati comodi nonostante le numerose valige. La colazione inclusa era squisita e l'onsen della struttura (800 yen a testa per l'ingresso) è stata una piacevole aggiunta al nostro soggiorno. Il proprietario è stato sempre disponibile a rispondere rapidamente a qualsiasi nostra domanda. Personale educato e gentile.
