Guest Reviews

- Doreen (10/5): - Friendly staff ,good food ,clean room . Shower was too hot could not turn it down .fridge did not work . Children running wild late at night . We made the most of our stay and would go back again if in the area

- lee (10/5): - Overall very good
- Eric (8/5): Pleasent stay. - Functional neat clean and tidy with friendly staff both on arrival and at breakfast. I would use this hotel again. Handy for Town and Beach and Station.
- William (8/5): Stay at grovner house Clacton - Really enjoyed stay very comfortable clean and friendly staff breakfast was disappointing felt like it had been precooked and heated in microwave but would stay again next time in Clacton
- mandy (10/5): - An excellent place for price paid and staff were extremely helpful.
- Kenan (10/5): - The staff where amazing and it was in a good location, the bed was comfortable
- Mike (6/5): Terrible attitude - The hotel was fine, decent rooms & parking facilities, however the guy behind the bar selling flat beer from cans at £5 a time, was very rude & refused to refund or even change the undrinkable beer, apparently it was our fault?? Go figure.
Won’t be staying at this hotel again.
- martin (8/5): - Breakfast was very good. Staff are very friendly. Nice location close to the beach and the High Street.
- Paul (10/5): Clacton one nighter - Very helpful at check in as we had arrived very early . Good breakfast friendly staff . Location great
- gary (10/5): - Friendly staff. Room clean fresh bedding. Staff came in everyday day to check towels and to clean the room. Nice breakfast. Enjoyed it that we stayed an extra night.
- Ann (10/5): clacton stay - a very nice 3 night break which was located perfect for town and sea front, no complaints whatsoever and very welcoming staff
- mark (6/5): - good room and place to stay nice breakfast.. could do with a lift to the top floor as stairs are steep
- Terry (6/5): Slightly embarrassing - We walked through the frontdoor and to the right there was a door open leading to another room with three more beds in witch all had men sleeping on. This was not a one-off the door stayed open throughout our stay why ??? It looked and felt a little alcwould.
- C P (8/5): Good value stay - Met on arrival and shown my room straightaway. Very nice decor with en suite bathroom. Free wifi. Didn't have the chance to take up the offer of breakfast as we were visiting friends who obliged. But overall a lovely stay and would definitely stay again.
- robert (10/5): Great Grosvenor - Very clean and tidy,good staff,helpful and courtious,great breakfast.
- Geoff (10/5): - Lovely stay..had everythimg I needed..
- donna (10/5): - Very impressed with the hotel. Our family room was amazing lots of space.
A very special thank you to the caring and helpful young lady who works in the dining room and served our breakfast. She was a great help with my daughter with special needs x
- Verified traveler (10/5): Extra day - It was just a one night stay with friends as an extra day to our holiday. Room & staff were lovely would recommend.
- Wendy (10/5): Really enjoyed our short stay at this Hotel - The family room was perfect for myself, my daughter and my two small grandchildren. The ambience of the Hotel was good and we would not be able to fault it from our personal experience of the hostess/receptionist.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient overnight stay at a reasonable price
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great value for money. I chose this hotel because all other hotels available were double the price or had bad reviews. I was happy with my decision. You get what you pay for - my single room was very small, but I had a good night’s sleep and a filling breakfast in the morning.
- Annika (6/5): Good and not so good points. - Big room and big bathroom. Stayed 2 nights. Family room with 4 single beds which were very comfy. When we moved two of them together there were a lot of dust and rubbish under the beds. A lot of dust on top of the fridge. No spare toilet paper roll (luckily we had some kitchen roll ourselves). Tea, coffee or milk was not topped up for day 2. Lovely full breakfast served.
- Michelle (8/5): Ideally situated - Ideally situated for all amenities, the double room was very small but the comfy bed made up for it. There’s was plenty of choice for breakfast which catered for all tastes, toiletries in room.
- Freda (8/5): - Great value for money, in good position in town and very clean.
- Lee (10/5): Great stay - Lovely stay great location lovely people. Only thing which wasn't that bad was the second single beds in the room where a bit squashy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic room, clean, great size, free tea and coffee and water with a fridge, breakfast great and very accommodating towards a vegan and 2 fussy children. Best B&B I've ever stayed in!
- John (10/5): Would go out of my way to stay here. - This is a super guest house with a useable and good size car park. The room was a good size and clean with plenty of ower points at waist height. The breakfast is superb with lashings of tea or coffer on tap the food is terriffic. Breakfast is pre booked on check in so collect your thoughts on what you want and at what time.
- Wendy (8/5): Short stay - Lovely people and great location if you are looking to visit the beach. Bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
- Sarah (8/5): - The Room was clean, the bathroom was nice, there were a few marks on the bedding. The staff were lovely and were great at catering for my son who is dairy intolerant. Great place to stay location wise, and quiet so good for families.
- Beverley (6/5): Water issue - There was a water shortage manager did supply additional bottles of water
- Diane (8/5): Very good for a short break. - I stayed in the Quadruple room with my 2 boys and it was a really spacious room and nicely decorated. It came with the added bonus of a big jet bath and Netflix, etc on the tv. Breakfast was nice, with one poor lovely lady working on her own. Location was good as 5 mins walk from the busy pier, etc so its quiet.
We had a big wardrobe in the room that was held together by silver tape and only had 1 coathanger in it. The beds were on the small side and quite soft.
I do feel it was slightly overpriced but would stay here again if I could get a discount/deal.
- Alan (8/5): - Nice clean hotel.
Very pleasant staff.
- Danielle (10/5): Lovey hotel! - For a last minute booking I wasn’t disappointed. The people were lovely and the room was perfect! Will be back!
- Retiredlady (8/5): - Convenient for railway station - a short walk away! Very comfortable bed - slept really well. Good breakfast. Wish there was a lift as my room was on top floor - stairs rather steep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location, staff very friendly easy check in,the rooms were very worth the money .
- Patricia (8/5): Would definitely recommend this hotel - This was a lovely hotel couldn't fault the staff the property was spotless the only issue we had was being given a room with a small shower and not the room I booked which had the bath so I was unable to have a shower or bath the breakfast was to die for wish I could find out were they got the sausages as I love them .will definitely go again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, car parking very good, lovely big room and very helpful and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean friendly staff and close to the pier, would most definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good size room , clean and very nice breakfast. Parking free too.
- Hayley (10/5): Great for our overnight stay. - We were there overnight for a family occasion. The room was lovely, very big and comfortable. Having two teenagers with us, Netflix on the tv was a bonus!
The only thing I think could be improved on is there being breakfast options on a menu. We were asked what we wanted when we didn’t know what was on offer. Our full English was very tasty though and service was very good.
All in all, a very comfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean room, pleasant staff, free wi-fi
- tony (8/5): Nice hotel, 5 minutes walk to the seafront - Nice hotel, 5 minutes walk to the seafront. Room was nice and tidy. Great breakfast. Parking on site.
- Maureen (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful, mine was a lovely room.
- Rebecca (6/5): Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. - Pleasant , would have been better if the weather was better.
- Miranda (10/5): Good service - Well we found the beds really comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful and we would love to stay again.
- Amanda (6/5): Grosvenor House Hotel - close to town , pier beach - I had a warm welcome when I arrived. very conmfortable room, I had asked for a bath in my room when I booked but unfortunately the room with the bath had been booked before me. . I had a shower in the ensuite which was good. The flooring in the bathroom was tiles and I found them cold to walk on without shoes on so I always had the bathmat on the floor to combat this.Very comfortable bed, I slept very well every night. Continental breakfast was plentiful.
