Guest Reviews
- Gillian (10/5): Stress free bliss - We love love loved our stay at Bray View cottage, it was just perfect for us and our dog. It's a gorgeous peaceful spot and exactly what we needed, the cottage was fantastically equipped with everything you could need. It was comfortable and not pretentious at all so we could really relax and feel at home. Jess was so helpful and easy to communicate with, she helped make our long overdue break a totally fabulous stress free experience.
- Rob (8/5): Nice property just needs a good clean - Ideal quiet location for what we were looking for. Good space and nice layout.
The beds weren’t terribly comfortable, but it was the cleanliness that really let the property down unfortunately. Cobwebs, general grease in the kitchen and an overriding smell of dog in the lounge.
- Peter (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Lovely comfortable cottage. Lovely shared garden with play area for children.
We stayed 2 nights and felt at home. Would definitely recommend.
- Andrew (8/5): - Friendly, helpful admin. Very quiet and a large play area for children however space was limited in all rooms. We had to move a sofa to sit at the table and walk sideways into bed for example. A single bathroom for 2 couples was also a limitation but our choice after all.
- Michael T. (4/5): Not what we expected. - The photo in the advert is not the property we sayed at. We had no contact whatsoever with the property manager after they had taken our full payment. They did not answer emails, and we didnt know when we set out from home if we would even get in the property. We left a lot of supplies and food at home, thinking we would probably end up looking for a B and B somewhere local. The first contact we had from the owners was when we were driving down which was a demand for a further fee for damage insurance. The property itself was fairly comfortable with the exception of the bed and pillows! The shower wet room was very small with paint peeling off the walls, and no bathroom privacy blind. We read on the reviews there was a well stocked welcome pack, but this isnt the case. After a 6 hour drive we had to set off in search of a supermarket for milk and bread, having left it all at home. A few Oxo cubes, and some sugar saches does not make a welcome pack. The lack of contact from Home Away and the owners was very disappointing.
- Christopher (6/5): Nice stay - Uncomfortable bed - Nice little cottage, however the beds were very uncomfortable. I would stay again if they invest in some semi decent mattress.
- Cook (8/5): - The property was well supplied like walking in to your own house. Tea, coffee, bread milk.
Quiet and cosy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place is fabulous, we would definitely love to come back!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect rural dog friendly retreat. - Lovely cottage and beautiful location. When we arrived the cottage was warm and inviting. There was milk and butter in fridge. Bread, jams and biscuits on table. Lots of clean towels. A large field to exercise dogs. Great pub the Rising Sun two miles away. Would love to go again. Thanks to Jess.
- Louis (10/5): Excellent Accommodation - comfortable small cottage
- Peter (4/5): Bray Cottage - Bray Cottage - has great potential but oh so tired and with one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. With a little investment the cottage could be great. Yes, it's low cost and that is taken into consideration but.... The welcome pack was a nice touch, and the garden was great for our small dog, very safe and secure.
Location is very quiet and well off the beaten track with not much other than self entertainment. We found it a great place for a base for visiting / walking on both coasts. The local pub (2.1 miles) is very friendly, well stocked with a range of wines and beers, and serves excellent food, you will need to book. Oh, and you can even take your dog in with you.
If they changed the bed I'd definitely go again.
- Deborah (10/5): - Really lovely cottage in a fantastic location if looking for a relaxing peaceful location
- emma (10/5): Homely holiday cottage - Lovely cottage, we enjoyed a weekend stay with our 2 small children here. It was very welcoming with a basket of goodies provided on arrival such as bread, jam and biscuits. Also milk was there to start you off and all washing up utensils , tea towels and cleaning products. The cottage was clean and cosy. The playground in the garden was brilliant for the chikdren and the views were great. The only bad points were it wasn't very easy to find and perhaps could do with a bigger sign at the gate, the double bed was very squeaky Everytime you move it was quite noisey and also was a shame the grass was a bit long outside and the garden could do with a little tlc. But overall really nice stay and would recommend.
- Andrew (10/5): - Lovely break even on the last day of Winter.
- carol (10/5): Very clean - Home from home, really relaxing and cosy
- dave (8/5): great for a break.. value for money - nice and clean. play area for the kids and big garden . nice if you want to be away from a busy city . only negative is there was no wifi in the location
