Guest Reviews
- Michael (4/5): - Reception was fine, staff friendly and polite but this property is not good value for money. While clean enough the accommodation is very tired and is right alongside a busy road and the window wouldn't close. The bathroom is very cramped and would not suit the larger person. At the price breakfast really should be included. We've stayed at far nicer accommodation for nearly half the price and with breakfast included. Previous occupants of our room had used the kettle as a teapot and, while not the act itself is not hosts fault, we found stale tea and teabags in the kettle when we came to use it. Also, be aware that if you would like to walk into the town centre or the castle, it's a long uphill climb back to the property. This didn't worry us but wouldn't suit others. The property was a poor choice on my behalf.
- Ed (8/5): Good pub with clean comfortable accommodation - Comfortable overnight stay in a pub. No evening meal available on night we stayed which was a little disappointing but host offered to help order take away for us. Good location. Very small bathroom but shower nice and hot. Some lose fixings need addressing but not an issue. I would stay again
- jean (4/5): - No one to check me in ,waited 1 hour. room was not ready.
On return hotel in darkness. lighting inside very poor. room key written not printed, was difficult to read, making room entry difficult. room door opened outward, gave cause for safety concern. slept with light on did not feel comfortable. window could not be closed. no breakfast available. poor tea and coffee facilities in room, no shower gel or shampoo, only hand wash. showerhead loose, couldn't regulate water, and awful smell from pipes.
- David (10/5): - Friendly & Welcoming!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ideal stopover within walking distance of Alnwick. Exactly suited our purpose
- lawrence alan (8/5): - Cheap and cheerful, friendly staff, good prices for food and drinks,
- Mark (4/5): - Overpriced, requires a modernised refurbishment.
- Amy-Jane (8/5): - Cute little pub, amazing food and friendly staff. Very close to town centre
- Christine (10/5): - Everything was fine except breakfast wasn’t available. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and peaceful
- Michael (6/5): As above but room facility require upgrading - Very friendly helpful staff
Excellent location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely customer service, and an excellent stay, good location for a quick walk into Alnwick.
- Pamela (10/5): - we liked everything about it from the moment we arrived
- A (8/5): Great short break - A very friendly and welcoming place, perfect base for a short visit to Northumberland. Knowing it is essentially a pub with rooms, we weren't expecting hotel standards. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, perhaps the bathroom needs a revamp but it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was superb - a very hearty full English which set us up for the day. We ate there both evenings too. Due to Covid19 there was a limited menu but the food was good - very generous portions!
Susan and team were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
- Angela (8/5): Clean and comfortable stay - We only stayed one night and didn’t eat there but it was a comfortable stay, rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms face directly on road, but there wasn’t a great deal of traffic so we weren’t disturbed. It’s a bit of an uphill walk out of town (if you’re not driving) but quite manageable.
- Gary R (8/5): - Delicious evening meal and breakfast, nice friendly staff, little bit further from the centre of Alnwick than we are used to and the drinks were a little bit pricey.
Would definitely stay here again, welcoming little boozer with nice clientele
- Stephen (6/5): Adequate but not worth the money - This hotel is perfectly adequate for a one night stop over but is no where near worth the price we paid for a night
- Deborah (10/5): Almwick mid week break - The welcome was warm, food was lovely and the room was very comfortable. Great value for money.
- Mrs L C (4/5): Nightmare - Hotel needs to be cleaned updated staff need to work in a good hotel to get some Ideas on how it works defo need new cleaning staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely welcome and splendid host - very good price for Alnwick and we had a lovely chat with the host. It is part of an inn which makes it even better
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Good full breakfast in the morning
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff there are really friendly and cant do enough for you . The rooms themselves are exactly what you expect from a small hotel and bar, comfortable and have everything that you need for a short stay. The breakfast was lovely as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Concert stay - Stayed here for our il divo concert trip . Really convenient and friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hidden gem, on outskirts of town, easy walk down hill to centre.
Room clean and comfortable, with added bonus of a cereal, juice, tea, coffee and English breakfast. Would stay again no problem.
