Guest Reviews
- phillip (10/5): - Perfect for one night stop over
- James (8/5): - Great location, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Room spacious with good amenities.
- P D (10/5): Charming and pretty. - A lovely setting by the river, fantastic outdoor seating area. Friendly staff and great sized double room. Personally i found the mattress was very hard but a very enjoyable stay.
- Andrew (10/5): Definitely coming back - My wife and I booked this hotel for a concert in nearby warwick,to say we were impressed by the location, friendly staff and food in the restaurant is an understatement we cannot recommend this hotel enough, huge room with bath and shower, and a very comfortable queen size bed,5 stars.
- Christine (10/5): - Service and meals were excellent. The building has wonderful ambience. The only fault I could find was some peeling paint in both my bedroom and bathroom. Also it's the little touches that count - like a box of tissues, cotton wool pads, hand cream etc.
- lee (10/5): Couple trip - Hotel receptionist greeted us with a smile and very helpful providing all the information we needed
Hotel room was clean and bed was very comfortable
Perfect location for our needs to and from Warwick Castle
- Lynne (10/5): Great one night stay - A lovely one night stay - the rooms are large and the bed was comfy. Lovely staff and we had a very good meal.
- Hitesh (8/5): - We liked our stay here; it's a shame we didn't use the pub, which seems to be happening. But nice srandeig area. Love the quality of coffee in the room.
- natasha (8/5): - Lovely pub / hotel.
Nice spacious room. Lovely coffee and biscuits.
Bed was a little hard for my liking but that's me.
Food was okay. Nice place to eat but was not the best and was cold
- Barrie (10/5): -
wonderful historic mill, great outdoor patios, authentic ambiance, friendly and helpful staff.
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely but room noisy - The lady on reception was really nice and friendly made the check in easy we were chatting about walks in the area she gave a good walk then Louis walked past and wrote down a couple which was a fab help. Room was nice but right next to patio so was awake till silly o clock with people drinking in the pub it was so noisy. Had a meal there and Lois was our sever the food was really nice and hot served quick. Would stay again just not in that room
- Brian (10/5): Perfect end to our holiday - After camping for 4nights we decided we needed a comfortable bed and a bath on our last night. The Old Mill was perfect for us. Nice staff good food beautiful quiet setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our stopover. Thank You all at The Old Mill Brian & Teresa Moore
- Jane (8/5): Very friendly place - Lovely friendly hotel. Needs a bit of refurbishment but perfectly clean. Although the windows needed cleaning!
- Raymond (4/5): Ok hotel but dont book if you need internet - Hotel was in good location for my meeting, Room was large and clean..The Internet in hotel was shocking ( Really not good when you booked hotel for business trip ). Restaurant staff were poor, slow. Food was ok when it finally arrived
- Robert (10/5): - Kind receptionist and restaurant staff fitted us in when they were already exceptionally busy and almost fully booked. Plus food and service were great.
- Lawrence (8/5): - the restaurant serve good food too
- Martin (10/5): - This was such an amazing pub. Beautiful food and lovely staff x
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great place close to Coventry. Excellent staff ( bar one at breakfast) We ate Dinner there both nights, very enjoyable.Has separate bar and outside area. Handy for visiting places such as Warwick, Leamington & Kenilworth.
The building does need a little TLC but wouldn’t put us off staying again. Not good for public transport though.
- Luke (10/5): Excellent hotel - Lovely hotel quiet, nice bar and food and drink
- Steve (10/5): - Great hotel always stay here when working in the area
- Barry (8/5): - Room needed a bit of ventilation, patio doors couldn’t be opened. Other than that nice place.
- Yan (6/5): - The room I was allocated had windows the others could see through from the staircase, so I always had to close the curtains. The rooms on the websites have much better views over the river and the greenery. My room also looks quite a bit smaller than the ones on the website.
- Paul (10/5): Nice stay - Large carpark. Lovely property. Welcoming staff reception to restaurant. Rooms spacious beds comfortable. Warm at night so open Ur window.
Food n drink is price, food was excellent tho. Outside smokers and non smoker patio over river.
- Lowenna (8/5): - The pub itself is absolutely lovely. Amazing out side space by the river. Beautiful inside. Food was really good. All the staff were really nice and friendly. Good atmosphere especially for a midweek evening. Hotel room was clean and bed was comfy. Shower also had good pressure / temp. Bathroom and some decor a little tierd in places. We really enjoyed our stay and the room was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was also really enjoyable.
- Alison (10/5): - It was easy to find and close to the University and Coventry. The room was lovely with a view of the brook and trees, very relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were helpful. Thank you.
- P (10/5): Hidden gem - Great value great food and good location
- Karl (2/5): Poor hotel policies - Such a shame. Lovely venue, good food, nice facilities and clean. I booked for 2026 in error and realised on check in. Assuming they’d be reasonable, I rebooked for 2025 immediately. I’m now told by hotels.com that they won’t refund my 2026 stay. We all make mistakes….
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - Quite how this hotel gets a rating of 9 (wonderful) is beyond me. To say it needs updating is an understatement. We were horrified looking down the side of the wardrobe in room 20, it was thick with dust, cobwebs, it honestly looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years (pic 1). Moved to room 14, which was cleaner, but both rooms only had 1 cup, 1 towel, 1 glass for 2 people. Peeling wallpaper, scuffed skirting everywhere, mould on the bathroom ceilings, scalding hot water, the bed bases were rotting with awful mattresses (I have thrown better in a skip). Oh and the Public liability insurance in reception ran out last November. Please, go somewhere else, this is one of the worst I have ever stayed in.
- Karen (8/5): - The location was great and perfect for our needs.
The bedroom was large and in good condition. However, the bed and pillows were far too hard for us and the room was extremely hot. We did try to turn the heating down but this didn't seem possible.
The food in the restaurant dinner and breakfast, was average. However, all of the staff were friendly.
- Bev (10/5): Most enjoyable stay - From the minute we got there we were made to feel welcome. The rooms were alittle tired but comfortable. The food was exceptional, great full english breakfast. All staff were friendly and went out of their way to make conversation, especially shy Mark lol and Suraya. We would definitely recommend and will return. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Overnight stay. - Helpful staff, large clean room with good bathroom. Menu limited in the evening but nice wine and the best vegan breakfast :)
- Frank (8/5): - Good price comfortable room
- simon (10/5): Pleasant stay - Really good large room, very quiet, nice view
- Paul (6/5): Needs some work! - Stayed overnight at the Old Mill for business due to location. Met with friendly efficient staff at reception and promptly arrived at room which unfortunately was very tired, some investment to refurbish wouldn’t go a miss. The bathroom was not a pleasant experience, also requiring attention including significant mould.
The pub/restaurant adjoined was reasonably busy but attentive staff made for a pleasant experience.
The location was convenient for me and the large car park with EV charging a plus.
- Kevin (6/5): Midland weekend citybreak - The highlight was the sunday dinner roast. Absolutely wonderful. However, receptionist services seem patchy. Room was comfortable and very warm (for the week that had snow fallen). Some amentities can be upgraded, but wasnt a huge bother if one is not picky for a city break.
- MISS (10/5): Business trip - stayed for 3 nights for business as a lone female travelling felt very safe. Check was prompt and informative. Rooms warm and cosy and comfy. Tea & Coffee making facilities with biscuits. Bed was comfy.
The food was amazing and properly some of the best pub food I've had. Staff friendly and helpful.
- Jonathan (10/5): - A perfect getaway for the weekend - thank you.
- Paul (10/5): - Friendly, comfortable and food was excellent
- Fiona (6/5): Great stay, great staff, great breakfast. - Staff fantastic. Room a little tired but very comfortable, large with lovely atmosphere. Breakfast best ever. Loved the place will be back. Staff made it great.
- Jason (10/5): One of the best. - Lovely place. A little bit out of town but very historic and atmospheric hotel with a fine restaurant/bar. Very nice staff and breakfast was excellent.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Relaxing weekend - Really relaxing and well looked after
- Lee (10/5): - Great friendly staff and great food and value for money
- Michael (10/5): - Excellent staff, good food, nice bar and lovely outside seating next to river.
- claire (10/5): friendly helpful staff - lovely relaxing stay, the staff were so friendly and happy
- Susan (8/5): - Beautiful part of England
- Graham (10/5): Great venue just a few minutes from the city centr - Great pub food, clean rooms, nice location and very attentive & friendly staff make a great mix. We had a very enjoyable stay
- Luke (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel and friendly staff
- Robert (4/5): - This is the third visit to this hotel the parking and location are good however the rooms are getting very tired and in need of decorating
- GR Mackling (10/5): Beautiful natural surroundings and excellent food. - What a wonderful surprise, being surrounded by nature with excellent food and service.
- Carol (10/5): - The hotel is in a small village conveniently situated close to the NAEC at Stoneleigh Park. It has about 20 rooms and a bar and restaurant. There is also ample parking.
- Rhonda (8/5): - Very quiet, friendly staff
- Steve (10/5): Warm and friendly - I couldn’t fault the place. We stay in many hotels and there is usually something we can find that could be better, but not here. Nice big clean room VERY friendly staff.. all of them. Food was great and an all round feel of the place was warm and friendly. Will be back
- Stephen (10/5): Great time at Baginton - We have just had a lovely few days at The Old Mill at Baginton. The room was lovely and clean, very comfortble with a view over the river. The bed was nice and comfy. The rception staff were great, very welcoming and helpful.
We ate every night at The Chef and Brewer right next door. We were served by Megan every night. She was lovely, so cheerul and helpful, she worked really hard looking after all her customers and made sure everyone had exactly what they wanted. In the morning we had breakfast in The Chef and Brewer we were served by Zuz, she was wonderful. The breakfast was good, lots of choice and all delicious. Really set us up for the day. We had a wonderful time and would certainly go back there next time we are in the area.
- Jane (10/5): Fantastic! - Absolutely amazing - great hotel and all the staff were brilliant. Went the extra mile when we needed help - thank you so much xx
- Mike (6/5): Goodish!!! - This looks like a nice place to stay and the overall building looks good from the outside. My issue is simply that they had unfortunately experienced a flood the week before and carpets had had to be pulled up and facilities such as gents toilets were not available, plus there was a slight smell of damp. The food was excellent as was the overall service from reception to the restaurant, but the room I had was very tired and the lighting was antiquated ie having to get out of bed to turn of lights and no usb facilities in the rom at their plugs - Now all this can be looked at as trivial, but I stay in this area a lot and for £100 a night without breakfast, I feel it is way overpriced for what is also available in the area at a less or comparable price, BUT with more amenities as mentioned and not as tired looking concerning the decor.
- James (10/5): - A lovely building, outside area, staff were friendly and helpful
- David (10/5): - Great location. Staff and service very good. No hesitation in recommending it.
- tom (8/5): - Nothing to complain about all good
- Martin (8/5): - On arrival there wasn't anyone to check us in, you have to wait for someone to answer the bell to come around from the bar/dining area. First impressions were the corridors and room were "tired", the carpet was well used and the silicone and grout in the bathroom had mould signs showing it was time to freshen the grout and re-silicone. We stayed 2 nights Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday breakfast area was quiet and the full English breakfast excellent, morning 2, I was still full from the breakfast the day before so just had the lighter options. A special mention must go to the breakfast server who was there both Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday was extremely busy and milk, juices, coffee needed constant replenishment whilst there was a continual stream of arrivals wanting tables, orders to be taken, diners served and tables cleared. She was a credit, calm, polite, courteous whilst always busy.
The hotel has character, a river adding interest, no stress parking and without a doubt we would stay again. It was a relaxing stay for our Son's graduation, just what we needed
- Brian (8/5): - Nice place to stay.
- PHILIP (8/5): Good quality and ideal for Stoneleigh - Another good stay at the Old Mill - my only criticism: dont feature a "Specials" board if you dont have any available currently, otherwise, clean, efficient and pleasant staff and will definitely stay again
- Ray (4/5): - Bed was too hard to sleep on, room had a very strong smell of disinfectant. Room was very dated and in need of update furniture. Window would not close. On a plus note ths breakfast was excellent.
- Tom (2/5): Van broke into - Van got broke into, hotel staff didnt want to help. Said there CCTV is rubbish and cant see in the dark. Wont be staying again
- John (10/5): 2 night break - Our room was clean and comfortable the meals we had were of good quality and all the staff were friendly and helpful
- Alan (6/5): Nice hotel appalling restaurant - The hotel was nice I had a lovely room overlooking the river. The meal I had on Sunday evening was the worst I have had in many years both in food quality (it was stewed to hell) and service.
- SUE (10/5): - Friendly & helpful staff
Lovely breakfast
Nice spacious comfortable rooms
Needs a coat of paint here & there but very clean
- Parmajit (10/5): - 👍👍👍
- Kenneth (10/5): - The hotel is nice , the staff was great !
It’s a decent place to stay and the restaurant is good .
I’d stay there again
- JULIET (10/5): - Great restaurant. Comfortable rooms.
- Sean (10/5): Fantastic service - I’ve been visiting the Old Mill for nearly 50 years but this was my first time staying.
Our room wasn’t ready on arrival but waiting in the bar was no hardship. Our room was super clean but a little dated and tired but comfortable nevertheless.
The Team excelled themselves with breakfast. We made a mistake and were late coming down but the said it wasn’t a problem and provided an excellent breakfast with great service.
Cant fault the the team and overall it was a lovely stay.
- SUSAN (10/5): Clean quiet room - Lovely clean quiet room on the ground floor overlooking the river
- Caroline (10/5): - Lovely room and very helpful happy staff and the Christmas dinner was amazing
- Allan (4/5): Wilkinson - The room was clean and tidy however the bathroom had a faulty radiator, not working.
The sink had no plug which meant having a shave was quite difficult.
- Dean (10/5): - Have stayed at the old mill many times. It's always pleasant, quiet and with nice sized rooms.
- Dale (10/5): Feels like Home! - The hospitality here is first class. You will feel like you are at home. Locals are lovely. A visit to the bar is a must! If you want Yourshires, make sure you are there on a Sunday! Love England!
- Chris (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel in a good location.
- Denise (8/5): - Evening meal was excellent. Breakfast - would have preferred fresh chopped fruit.
- Robert (10/5): - Staff were excellent
- SUSAN (6/5): Lovely location great room - Hotel in great location very quiet. Room large and well equipped overlooking stream and garden. Checkin was delayed as no one on reception needed to find someone from bar area to locate receptionist.....who was outside smoking! Still she was very pleasant and efficient when there not really a problem but didn’t necessarily give a good first impression!
- Chris (10/5): - Short break to see family made easy by helpful friendly staff
- Paul (10/5): - Old building with great character. Friendly staff and good atmosphere
- Fiona (10/5): - From the moment we ad it felt as if we were old friends returned
- David (10/5): Very handy for Coventry and very welcoming - A Large room with ensuite. There is a touch of the Premier Inn vibe with the purple runner on the bed. The fact that every room was let the night we stayed says a lot. Not much in downsides - the bulb had blown in the main room light and the bath panel had been damaged and glued, but perhaps should have been replaced. This was room 6.
- Garikai (10/5): - Nice setting and comfortable overall.
- Colin (4/5): - Wrong room always ask for room 16 given 19
- Craig (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable.
- Marianne (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - I would happily recommend The Old Mill to my friends and family. The room was large and well appointed. The bed was very big and spacious although the mattress was a little firm, which suits me but may not be to everyone’s taste. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the restaurant as the food was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely stay there again.
- Thomas (10/5): - Lovely staff with lovely rooms very clean and the showers are great nice
- Ange (6/5): Disappointing overnight stay - Nice setting and welcome from receptionist was exceptional. However the room was in need of an uplift! The bathroom was large and clean but the bedroom in Room 25 was dull and curtains had rip in it but worst of all was the bed. Very small double and the hardest bed we had ever slept in. I could not settle at all so had to doze in the chair. Safe to say did not sleep at all. My husband has arthritis his spine and the mattress was the worst thing for him so we rolled up the quilt to use as a topper for him to lie on.
Breakfast was the usual help yourself but the cooked breakfast took nearly 30 mins to arrive, and when it did it was dry and served on a cold plate. The porridge was cold so I only ate a bit. No one around to do check backs on the food.
On leaving I spoke to duty manager and told her of the above and she just shrugged her shoulders and said ‘oh well every room has the same mattress’. She said she would look into it but hey we all know that’s a fob off! I expect she said the same thing to the man who was in Room 26 who complained just before me.
Unfortunately would not recommend to stay here unless you like rock hard mattresses and cold and overcooked breakfasts.
- Linda (8/5): - Quiet location on river side. Large bedrooms with good facilities. Clean and tidy. Handy for bus stop into town centre.
- Paul (10/5): Beautiful location and very quiet - After a long day of traveling, it was a pleasure to arrive into such a beautiful location - particularly with windows in my room overlooking the river/stream.
Excellent space in the room and a fantastic shower
I would recommend to book a table ahead of your stay if you plan having a meal as was quite busy when I arrived
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel room was lovely, bigger than I expected and with 2 very comfortable beds. The service on arrival and when using the on-site restaurant was also great. I had received an email suggesting that if we wanted to eat in the restaurant to book a table online and I’m glad we did as it was fully booked on the night. Great food and a really great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Richard (10/5): Picturesque setting - Very enjoyable stay. Just as picturesque as the pictures. Great atmosphere throughout. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Last minute booking 😁 - Last minute booking while out looking for a new car.
Lovely building, rooms spotless.staff very friendly and helpful.
Very well organised regarding The Covid 19 rules.
Amazing food really good choices.
Reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): If you are lucky you will take a nice room - My room was very big and very clean. My parents bedroom, was small, old, The TV was behind the wardrobe and they couldn’t watch tv from bed. The bedroom and bathroom was very dark, not enough lighting.
- Carol (10/5): antidote to my covidphobia - The staff gave exceptional service where nothing was too much trouble and they were cleaning everything so we felt very safe. Food menu was extensive and with some special offers. The manger runs a tight ship where customer service is at its heart. Definitely put this chain on the map
- graham (10/5): - Short mini break for the wife after surgery which she thoroughly enjoyed staff first class and couldn't do enough to help you and nothing was too much trouble
- Bob (8/5): - Very good plenty of ambience through out and comfortable room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Receptionist was lovely. Room was very nice, clean and warm.
