Guest Reviews
- Estrellita (10/5): Perfect - The motel was exceeded my expectation. It was clean. The parking was in-front of our door. Location closed to mcdonald, just across and less than minute walk. Close to anything. Perfect spot.
- natalia (2/5): - Horrible Experience Owner is rude yelling at customers. All he thinks about is money, not friendly, welcoming or respectful to guest. The rooms here are in Terrible condition I am lost how this place is open ministry of health needs to shut down this place immediately. The doors are broken anyone can break into your room, lots of shouting and noise. Rooms stink of cigarettes heavily, while in the room you will be breathing cigarettes.
- Kelly (6/5): Decent room, poor service. - The guy at the front desk on my first day was very rude. He was decent during my check-in, but when I accidentally locked myself out if my room, he straight up ignored me and refused to help. He also told the Skip The Dishes driver that delivered my food that night to go away and wouldn't tell him how to get to my room. This is extremely unacceptable customer service.
- Sharon (4/5): - Chose this motel only as a last resort
- Chandan (6/5): - Overall it was nice . Service was poor . Have to wait 45 minutes to check out because no one is in the office and its locked . Plus they specifically told me to bring key to the office before leaving otherwise they are gonna charge me more
- Allan (6/5): meh - If you’re looking for an hourly no tell motel to take someone for some fun, this will suit your needs. The ac didn’t work and I had to call the desk to have it turned on. The tv only got 3 channels. Luckily we weren’t there to watch tv. The bed served its purpose.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just great until the next morning when the toilet wouldn't flush.
It didn't over flow though. A very minor problem that the Motel had no control of. I brought it to their attention upon checking out.
To be fair, the cleanliness of the bathroom made up for this problem. I was just about to check out anyways. I know they would have corrected the problem immediately, or given me another room. They are good that way.
- Sherry (6/5): - Wasn’t the best experience at all. First off they didn’t have reservation, second I had to wait 45mins for room to be ready and it was 6pm!!!! Would not recommend this property at all. Very uneasy feeling of place didn’t feel safe and I actually didn’t stay the night I left and went else where....
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quick check in. It would be nice if there was a hairdryer in the washroom .staff helpful and pleasant. Great location.
- Jackie (6/5): - Very basic but clean. Very rude staff. Great water pressure in shower.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This property was incredibly dirty!! The room was dirty — hair in the shower, garbage still in the can, washroom walls and ceiling had yellow spots/streaks meaning it hadn’t been cleaned, shower floor was dirty (grip was black), towels rough (not good for sensitive skin or those with skin conditions), and worst of all me and my husband both left with a few strange, itchy bites!! I think whatever bit me crawled in my clothes as I got 3 more bites after I left! Also, they require a safety deposit which we weren’t aware of ($100). Staff was also rude and tried to say we painted the ceiling because of a strange blue mark (likely mold) that was already there when we got there, they were also rude to my husband upon check in and had an attitude with me when I simply stated that I was unaware of the security deposit.
Rooms are 100% non-refundable under any circumstances and no visitors allowed at all.
For your benefit, AVOID!! There are better motels/hotels in the area with relatively the same pricing, trust me!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cozy room with all basic necessities available. Good location.
- Satoko (6/5): Excellent location; conditions needing improvement - Its location along Dundas Street was awesome; it was very convenient for us to move to Toronto. When I called them to let them know our late check-in time, the staff was very kind enough to tell us that they would wait for us to arrive there until 11 p.m. Our room had TV, but an adult channel was not protected so that my minor family member would not accidentally watch it. That room had a microwave. It was too bad that our room was next to the door to go to the stairs and that we heard noises every time someone opened the door, which shut noisily. Some chewing-gum were attached under the seats of chairs. we couldn't find a heater control button and thus we felt a little cold in our room. I couldn't sleep without wearing a shirt, slacks, and stockings on my pajamas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great spot - Nice place to stay quiet and clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel is very average, but I knew that on booking as I live in the area. Was just looking for a nice place to stay for a couple nights and this was it. The rooms are nice, clean and colourful. Check in and out was quick and painless. This was the first time I’ve been on the second floor. The floors in the hallway look like they were taken apart and are waiting on new tiles...was a little ugly but it didn’t effect our stay. Also there are many restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, even a grocery store which is always nice.
- Sasha (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - it was okay and I have an advice for the motel it would have been very good if they gave water
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean rooms. Friendly sraff and very affordable. Will be returning.
- Cyrilus (8/5): - It was OK. Location was good for my purpose anyway. Room interior was so-so good, not so clean. Hallway was NOT clean at all, I think carpet was not layed or in preparation to be carpeted.
- Roger (8/5): Fine - Was fine - toilet did not flush properly- reported this.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Found bed bug bites on my left arm and leg the day I left. Disgusting. Room was not thoroughly cleaned either.
- Christopher (6/5): - Came in late & checked out early. Bed was way too hard & not enough towels for 2 showers by 2 people. We had 3 pillows that were not comfortable. The bed had a top sheet as the fitted (that didn't fit the mattress), a top sheet & thin blanket/comforter. Nothing special. Just soap & something green I'm guessing was shampoo. Not worth the $128
- BrucePinkney (8/5): - The phone system is confusing .
I had to call for some directions and the phone response was very confusing causing quite a delay .
- Tony (10/5): - Very good place for families or Business. I will go back next time.
- Tommy (2/5): Bed bugs and condoms - Found bed bugs and condoms under the mattress. They did not refund my money and l could not stay there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My body has a lot of pimple after a night sleeping.
- Eric (6/5): - Room was under repair
Bad Oder when we arrived
- Capital (10/5): Great place to stay - Great rooms at affordable pricing. Will be returning soon!
- Verified traveler (6/5): more expensive than the similar condition motel - it is a bit expensive compare to the condition of this hotel. Location is good for where we would like to go
- The Barbarian (8/5): Solid Value - Need a place to rest your head for the night? This is a true gem for you!
To be serious though, the motel is good!
The location is decent to get to anywhere in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) within an hour or two, traffic dependent, when driving. If you're headed to or around Yonge, expect about a 30-45 minutes. Reception at the motel is efficient and the staff are hospitable and considerate. Rooms at the motel are in decent shape as well, as the housekeepers clearly care. I wouldn't, however, recommend this hotel to individuals travelling with children. Take it under advisement.
I had two grievances with my room, both of which being maintenance issues. The refrigerator in the room didn't open easily and the ventilation fan in the room wasn't functional. Everything else was more than I had expected.
Suffice to say, should I have business in the GTA in the future and keeping to a budget, I would definitely consider staying here again.
- Brad (2/5): DON'T DO IT - 2 nights
- Daniel (10/5): Thumbs up - Good bed, good tv with hbo
Fast food, convenience stores and some bbq and jerk chicken all within walking
Terrific for the price
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Very good price. Got the king bed and was very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient, made it a easy stay. McDonald's and other amenities in walking distance. Microwave a bonus touch to keep in mind.
- Verified traveler (6/5): There are other motels around with silimar price - Its very unclean room. Would not give late checkout for free where as a lot of other motels do. Would not come back to this one!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Adequate motel - The motel is what it says, no frills and inexpensive. It was adequately clean and the beds were comfortable. Not fancy, but if you'll only be there a few days it's not an issue.
- Linda (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - For just an overnight stay where you’re looking for peace and quiet, I would recommend the Avenue Motel on Dundas. With a bar fridge and microwave, it offered the convenience of a simple kitchen. The only thing that I missed was a coffee maker in the room for the morning. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. We had no disturbances, which was important. I would return on another occasion.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to the ammenties - I had a good experience staying their to do some work. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Gem of a motel in Mississauga ON - Hotel reception is an Indian man who was cheerful and present despite many people waiting for service. Room was basic but clean and quiet. Take rear facing rooms for quiet. Price was very reasonable. Motel was close to shopping and not too far from Pearson airport
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Basic, room smells a bit due to what they use to scent the place. Brought my own candle. The bed frame is exposed. Small pillows
- Mark (6/5): No frills - The exterior of the building made an acceptable impression since I knew I was getting a fair price for a hotel that was a long way from downtown. But the check-in made me super cautious about the cleanliness of the room.
The hallway to the room used to be an exterior walk-way. It was enclosed and carpeting installed. Carpeting was super-gross and in the process of being replaced. My anxiety was not going down ...
The room was clean & had bare floors; a relief. Checked bed right away for cleanliness; acceptable. Decided to stay. Relaxing & flipping thru the channels before falling asleep when what popped up ... PORN! Unacceptable. But too late to move.
Don't go here with a family!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place - It was overall very good. There was some confusion in the booking of the rooms on whether it was a smoking room or not but that was solved. The maids threw out a tissue box i had and i had just returned to my room, and they were still outside and i asked them where they had placed it. They got defensive on how they don't take stuff, and just clean, but i simply asked them where it was, after 10 mins of talking to them i decided to just ask them for a roll of toilet paper since they didn't have any tissue boxes. And they decided to finally tell me they threw it out. Not an important story, but it kinda annoyed me so whatever lol. Wifi was decent, not the best. Couldn't load up simple apps on my phone, but laptop wifi speed was somewhat better.
- Dustin (2/5): Not Clean - It's our own fault for picking the only room left (smoking). It was SO gross. It smelled terrible. The sheets were clean, but the comforter was gross. The walls were mot clean. My brother had a non-smoking room; it was slightly better but not great. You can tell they are trying to upgrade it, but it is still not great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): I didn't know BYOTP was a thing - Needed a last minute hotel after flying into Toronto. Very few non-smoking rooms so we got stuck in a smoking room and the odor was incredibly strong. We tried to seal our clothes in our suitcase so we wouldn't smell the next day but it didn't work. There was no toilet paper provided, nor was there a toilet paper holder in the bathroom! Despite the odor and TP situation, the gentleman at the front desk did his best to make our stay a positive one (and yes he did give us TP when we asked LOL).
- Carl (8/5): They never received my Expedia reservation but, :) - The guy at the front desk was really great and helpful, after giving him a phone call in the evening, he kept the rooms until our arrival at, 2 AM.
- Verified traveler (2/5): It's the epicenter of hell. - We chose this motel purely based on vicinity to a wedding venue, but it seemed decent from the photos. They charge an extra person fee (per night of your stay) if you have more than 2 people in a room and they charged the full amount for each room at check-in which seemed odd to me. I was charged the same amount for each room even though one room only had 2 people in it and should have been the standard rate with no extra person fees! Not from Toronto, so didn't realize until we arrived how sketchy the area is. The front office is locked up tight at night which was creepy, and the person at the desk kept answering the phones while he was checking us in. All the staff we dealt with were rude, pushy and often didn't understand what we were asking, especially when I called to get my money back for the extra charges (update: I'm eating that money because it's not worth calling back to deal with them!). We had to beg for towels, provided with 1 in a room for 2 people and 2 in a room for 3 people. So let's just recap: you get charged an extra fee for a third person in the room, yet they don't even give you enough towels for that "extra" person! This motel is making way too much money off of people who don't know any better like me! The photos are deceiving and if you don't know the area, you really don't know what you're getting into!

- juan (6/5): Bad bad service - It was all good except for the fact that the server guy told me that i had to wait untill 2 pm for me to get the room , i had to pay 13 dollar more if i wannet to have acces to the hotel room right away wich wasnt nice at all
- Steven (10/5): For the price who can complain - The motel bed was not very comfy as two people as it's sunk to the middle. But other then the mattress I have no complaints the staff was very friendly and for the price the room was great will definitely stay again next time I'm in town
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Showed up at 12:30am and they had given away our room.
