Guest Reviews
- Thomas (3/5): - The cleaning lady was extremely nice and helpful. The bed frame was broken, the sheets were stained and covered in someone's hair which makes me believe they were never cleaned from the last person. The bathroom ceiling was water damaged and all brown. Seemed like the fan would fall out soon. There's Graffiti on the inside of the bathroom door. I showered and when I got a towel it was stained like someone wiped their butt with it. This didn't feel clean at all.
- Guest (4/5): Bed was comb - Over bed lighting didn’t work. There was no soap for showering. Toilet roll holder was broken.
Walls needed painting.
- Shauna (5/5): - Location, friendly staff Room had roaches, bathroom ceiling tiles falling down
- John (10/5): - Urs
- Bruin (1/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): - Enjoyed begin able to walk to places to eat conveniently place around all kinds of places to go and shop dog friendly great place to stay
- Deborah (10/5): - It was😆greatlike my stay enjoyed begin here
- Ying (9/5): 全新装修的 - 全新装修的。早餐特别棒 停车场小,路烂
- Mike Lingenfelter (9/5): -
- Pushpinder (2/5): - No facilities not even drinking water and ice basic room
- Ron (10/5): -
- Guest (6/5): - Ok for a quick stop on our travels. Very helpful when TV didn't work. Just a very old and rundown property.
- Betsey (6/5): Okay but No Pool as advertised - NO WORKING POOL. Just a big empty hole. Apparently, it has been that way for years, but the pool was not repaired and sight info was never updated.
- Stephen (6/5): - Older motel.
- Crystal (8/5): -
- Carol (2/5): Very deceiving - The room smelt like old cigarettes, the bedspread had holes in it, the sink drained slow & toilet seat needed to be replaced. Ice machine not working & pool empty & needed to be removed or replaced. Worst stay I've ever had.
- Whicker (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bitches (7/5): Good - Nice friendly owners and employees It was 👍 bed ne
- Bitches (8/5): Very good -
- Leonard (10/5): - I'm quite happy with the room I got at this price
- Tiffany (3/5): Poor - Hair on bed. Plugs didn’t work for chargers and very noisy area
- Marsh (6/5): All in all it was a ok stay - Nice place The air conditioning was poorly worked and the toilet leaked
- Robert (8/5): - Very quiet place staff was friendly
- Jackie (2/5): - Police were there investigating a domestic situation as we were checking in. The room smelled bad. Sheets and blankets had burn holes everywhere. There were no towels in the room.
- Jesse (2/5): Will not return. - Bathroom Ceiling had a 3 foot hole where water damage had caused half the tiles to fall. Switched rooms. Second room had no washcloths, no toilet paper. Shower fixtures half screwed in, with sharp screws hanging out. In a 3 day stay, only half the time was there hot water. Wifi inoperable. Light bulbs burned out, other lights unplugged. TV remote missing a cover and batteries taped in with scotch tape
- Main (2/5): Worst Stay in my Life - The staff misbehaved, their Wi-Fi net is absolutely poor, they even did not fixed it after repeated requests. I stayed with my family 12 x days, they said we have given you rooms, but Wi-Fi is free, so it’s not our responsibility to fix it. The rooms were dirty. Horrible condition and horrible stay.
- jackie l. (4/5): - The bed was the best of the room
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- DRUANNA (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised with this property. They have redone the interior of the units and everything was nice and clean. I would stay there again.
- Lindsay (1/5): Bad - Room smelled like pee and mold
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cheap prices is what you get. - The pictures on the hotel.com isn't what I walked into. To get to the hotel you go through a gas station, waffle House parking lot. You basically pay for what you get. No morning breakfast available, small parking lot, and it's good if you don't like quality, comfort and cleaniness.
- Alexis (10/5): Okay not bad - It was alright
- Angela (6/5): It’s a so so kind of place - Definitely not a 4 star hotel! It was ok for what we needed at the time but needs ALOT OF RENOVATIONS. No soap to wash hands and would definitely not shower there. Our sheets had burn holes from cigarettes. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Parker (10/5): Exceptional - Great Service Yal are much appreciated. Happy New Year's and God Bless No complaints
- Monica (1/5): Bad - Trash! Will never do it again!!! Staff horrible! Then wanted to charge me 200 deposit for my service animal!!!!!
- Lintz (3/5): I wouldn’t recommend - The staff was super nice. It was loud all hours of the night. There were men yelling and hollering. The cops showed up and beat on the door next to me for twenty mins or more. The lady next to us was loud you could hear everything. The shower was filthy the comforter had burns in it. The actual bed itself looked like it had pee stains all over it. We left a day early because of all of it. It was definitely a waste of money and we should have gotten a refund.
- Kunwar (5/5): Will never go back there. - Can't think of anything.Staff was OK. Almost everything.
- Joyce (8/5): Older hotel but nice - When we checked infront desk clerk very friendly. In room we could not get tv to work but clerk came and fixed issue right away.
They don't have phones in rooms, but with everyone having cell phones now there really isn't a need for them.
Bed wasnt bad (meaning neither of us woke up with sore backs :-) ), room was clean.
Nice area of town and close to food establishments.
- Kayle (7/5): Good -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Gregory (6/5): - Didn't like one single thing about it.
- Renat (10/5): - Good
- Carrie (10/5): - Love staying at this hotel for convenience
- Nicholas (10/5): - Very enjoyable
- Jennifer (2/5): - I had to sign a paper that stated we would not smoke in the room. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burns on the sink, floor and linens. There were spider webs with dead bugs in the bathtub The check in process was terribly long like she had no clue what she was even doing. This was the worst place I’ve even stayed. Definitely not recommended.
- Ruby (1/5): Nasty - Nothing discussed The place was nasty blood on the sheets cigarette burns in the covers and the smell was horrible like mold in the rooms
- Marsh (4/5): Disappointing - Good air conditioning Room not clean bed had holes
- Norma (2/5): - Dirty smelly rooms. Loud people all night. People bugging you kicking on your door at night thinking it’s funny. TV remote doesn’t work unless you are standing super close right in front of it. Never has any extra blankets or pillows. Absolutely would not recommend. Oh also, ceiling is falling through in rooms.
- bhadraiah (6/5): Not the best budget place - Room, carpet, towels did not look clean. Flies in room.
- William (8/5): - Quiet, peaceful, but tv didn't work
- Dennis (2/5): - Bedspreads had cigarette burns in the and sheets too. Carpet was very old, torn and stained. No water pressure in the sink. The shower head was broken. One bed had yellow stained pillow covers.
There's some sort of night club next to this property and I had to listen to very loud drums and Bass music until the club closed at 12:30 am.
This place was a joke. Never stayed in such a filthy place.
- Angela (10/5): - I was extremely satisfied with my recent stay at Countrside Inn, especially for the price, you can’t beat it! Where I am from you can’t find a hotel for less then $70/nite and if you do I promise you will be sharing the room with coakroaches and bed bugs. Not at CSI! The furniture and linens in the room were dated, but everything was absolutely clean, including the bathrooms which is most important to me. The staff was great and very helpful. The lady that works at night helped me feel very safe as she walked the entire property on a less then hourly basis making sure that everyone was being quiet and that nobody that was not a guest was not on property. That made me feel very safe considering I am a single white female in a strange town all alone. So thank you for that CSI. My only complaint, and it wasn’t even an issue for me but they do not have any amenities at all but what can u expect for such a great price. I would highly recommend CSI to travelers and out of towners needing somewhere to sleep during a long day driving or even to someone who is only going to be in Richmond for a short time due to work or something I hear that the weekly rates here are great as well. I gave CSI a 5 star rating, it’s not the Hilton but, you definitely get what you pay for and i would stay at CSI again anytime I go back to Richmond. Thank You to the staff for being so great!
- Joya (2/5): - I asked for a non smoking room, but the room smelled like smoke, and the bed sheet had cigarette burns on them. The WiFi didn't work. The furniture was old.
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing -
- Preston (5/5): Don't waste your money on this place - Beds were soft and rooms were warm When they locked me out of my room when i paid them for 2 nights they put in the system 1 night got back to my room couldn't get in and went to the office and they looked it up and found out I paid for 2 nights my paperwork said 2 nights so got another card to get in room in my opinion I should of gotten the 2nd night free due to their mistake my stay was from 3-22 and 3-24 , 2024. Probably won't ever stay there again
- Melinda (8/5): - Kind of a sketchy area; non-smoking room had cigarette burn holes in carpet, bedspread, and sheets. Room was smelly. In a brighter note, staff was extremely friendly and courteous.
- Blevins (5/5): Suck - Not seen roaches
- Hill (3/5): Probably won't be back. - Price was reasonable. The bed was like sleeping on a box, the pillows were worse than folded paper. There were no linens in our room.
- Lloyd (2/5): Avoid this place - Started out with a TV that you had to manually turn on and off. Manually turn the volume up and down. To being locked out of my room due to key card not working and the manager having to come over from another hotel to use a master manual key to finally unlock it, after I stood outside in freezing temperatures for almost an hour. Had to get towels and wash cloth from front desk due to none being in the room. That's how I got locked out of room. Shower did not drain and when I stepped out of the shower/tub, that did not have a slip proof bottom, I slide and fell hurting my back and neck.
Told the young lady at the front desk I wanted a refund, less then $60, and for a manager to call me. Neither has happened.
- James (1/5): It was a nightmare stay and Ill be calling the health department and reporting them!!!!! - I didn't like anything about this place. The staff was a nightmare the manager wouldn't do anything to fix the problem.
OVERALL DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The room had a gross smell to it. The bed sheets had blood on them. I was told there was nothing they could do about it. had to get new sheets to cover them up. There were burn marks on the blankets and sheets. The door wouldn't lock. Trash and beer cans/ bottles all over the place on the outside.
PS I wish I could give this place a 0 out of 10 or 5. Trashes place I have ever stayed at.
- Briana (2/5): - so noisy, there was a woman outside our door the entire night then around 7am she ended up screaming an woke us up 3 times, so we finally called the office and they removed her. then we were trying to get dressed an the room service woman came and knocked an we responded “one second” and then we heard the beap of the door where she totally was trying to come in the room. note im but ass naked so of course i didnt have a good response to it. the wifi sucks ass. rooms half clean. if there was a negative stars id totally give it. but if your looking for a cheap stay thats your spot i guess. the ladies in the front were high off their ass on drugs , totally not professional. i would recommend going elsewhere for something worth your money
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - The availability of rooms after being at the hospital all evening after being in an accident.
- Richard (1/5): Would NEVER stay again. - 1st receptionist was nice in getting me into 3rd room that lights, TV and no graffiti on wall. Was told my reservation was not on computer so signed me in as walk in. Funny cuz I had reservation on my phone. Final room TV did work with remote except to change channels. Sheet were paper thin. Had no towels. Night shift lady was miserable asked for towels and she wasn't responding. Asked again and she asked me to back away. I asked why such big deal to get towels. She said she was checking in a lady standing 10 feet away on phone getting website to translate Spanish to English. After 20 minutes I got my towels being told they were stained but clean. Told her this whole place was stained. I slept in my clothes. That's how bad this place was Read section on what I liked. Mistakingly filled in as how my experience was.
- Brock (2/5): - Holes in walls, holes in bed spreads, tv worked for about 20 minutes. Wifi in and out, then out. Party outside, law was called and a ambulance around11:30pm. Beds uncomfortable, furniture dirty. Reservations for two nights, but left after one night.
- Thacker (2/5): nasty place I ever seen would even if they paid me - well the price was cheaper than what you were going to charge it was 54 dollars but know wonder why the place was a disaster and I will never stay their again cockroaches everywhere I mean running around everywhere can me out of the frigre and the mic I a sk for a different room but was told they wear l book up but counted 4 rooms emptry on the way from the office everythingn person working the desk inwent and ask fur better pillow s and was told no could but they were flatter than pancake
- Michael (1/5): Nasty dirty pretty much sums it up - No breakfast wouldn’t eat there if they had breakfast
- Kayla (5/5): Passable - For just a few hours sleep, this place worked. Price was good, so was the lady at the front desk, she was super helpful! The place was a bit sketchy, beds weren’t that comfy and only 2 pillows per bed.
- Wayne (2/5): Bedbugs - Bedbugs. Did not stay!
- Michael (1/5): Nasty - Bugs in room
- Jessica (1/5): Bad - Close to campus The floors was dirty
There was some ones underwear behind the night stand
- Amanda (6/5): Quite little place - It was kind of stinky in the room and it was a hole in the wall. The ceiling needed fixed but there was no bugs or mold
- Manubhai (2/5): - They need proper cleaning and maintenance for this motel. I suggest never ever go with this motel.
- Patel (1/5): Bad - Nothing. The sink is bad.
The bathroom is not clean.
Toilet flush is not working.
Beds are not queens size.
No shampoo pouch and body wash pouch.
Electric fixture was broken. Nothing
- Patrick (2/5): Very poor -
- Jacqueline (1/5): I could not stay there! It was to bad! - The room was very nasty! Stains on the comforter. Looked like someone drew smiley faces on the pillows. Smelled horrible! Half the ceiling tile was removed over the shower! I could not stay there and asked for my money back! The lady working the deck was nice and refunded my money
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Stepehen (4/5): - The room and hotel is under renovation. My room had big black waterspots in bathroom. Electrical covers missing and rug was pulling apart. They still owe me one day refund!
- Mark (4/5): - I'm really sorry to say that this room and experience were a disappointment. We requested and were given a non-smoking room that clearly smelled of smoke, with 10-12 burn holes in the top sheet and bed spread, pillows that smelled of smoke on one side, and 15-20 cigarette burn trails on the top surface of the bathtub wall (we took photos so as not to be held liable). When we asked if there was another non-smoking room that we could move to, that option was not available, and we were asked if we wanted a bottle of Fabrieze. The television remote worked only partially, the toilet had a loose connection to the floor and rocked back and forth, there were cracks in the sink, old furniture that may date back to the 70's or earlier, and an overall, rundown appearance that was (sorry to say it) demoralizing. At a cost of $60 for the night, I think it's fair to say that we got what we paid for. And though my wife and I were disappointed enough to consider getting back in our car, absorbing the cost of the room, and completing our 16 hour drive through the nighttime hours, I believe that this room and experience could possibly feel adequate to people who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive hotel/motel room. So I wouldn't want to "knock it" for them. And though this review is not an affirming one, my wife and I do wish the Countryside Inn all the best for success in the future.
- Cynthia (2/5): - There is a sign in the lobby that says “No refunds after 30 minutes of check in.” That really just says it all. I think it’s highly likely that this is a bit of a flophouse for locals, not a rest stop for weary travelers.
- Amy (1/5): Bad - Nothing place was disgusting. Drug use an obviously homeless people hanging around Same as above. First room had holes in the sheets , second room had a few tiles in the ceiling rest were missing.
- Greg (2/5): - TV remote was missing batteries,
No phone in room to call the front test to request help.
Non-smoking room.... cigarette butt in toilet when we entered the room. :(
Tile ceiling in the bathroom was missing ceiling tiles.
DO NOT STAY HERE - IT IS CHEEP BUT STILL NOT WORTH THE PRICE?
- Sapphire (10/5): - It's not that bad
- Sualim (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Fenwick (1/5): Bad - Location It was disgusting
- Rodolfo (2/5): - The rooms were filthy, the blankets had burn holes in them. Would not recommend anyone to stay there. We were refunded our money.
- Ellen (4/5): Pretty sketchy - Ok I got this room for $49 and it is exactly what you would expect for that price - a dump. There are no amenities outside of a microwave and a tv.
The furniture is old and falling apart. The room reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a no - smoking room.
This is the first place I really wanted a chain on the door (but there was none)
- Baker (9/5): I'm glad that I decided to take a break from the stress of everyday life - It was quiet for me to get some sleep and I was well rested . And the staff was very nice and friendly. They were very good about asking me if I needed anything and made sure that I had clean towels and toiletries
I really appreciate all the accommodations. I had a microwave and refrigerator and the air-conditioning was very cold and I was thankful for that because it was so hot those days I didn't like it when I had to go but I'm sure I'll be back soon
- Gloria (2/5): - I do NOT recommend this hotel. The shower head was missing in the bath tub. This was reported to the office.
The tub and sink had old cigarette burns along the sides. Our bed sheets actually had a burn hole in it!
A very unpleasant experience ...
- Doug (1/5): bad - na flees and bugs everywhere
- Anonymous (1/5): I paid $165 for three nights two nights the refrigerator did not work tonight I slept on the same linen that had holes a - This property I would not recommend The Poor accommodations, broken equipment, the light
- Matthew (8/5): - Place could use some painting.
- Phillip (8/5): Very good -
- Missy (10/5): - We arrived for check in and there was this wonderful woman behind the counter she was so inviting. We asked some questions about what there was to do around the area and she was very knowledgeable and gave us some good ideas. Thank you for being so accommodating!! If we are ever in this area again we will stay here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pictures on the website looks great but it's not that way. Room was smells of dog urine, curtains and chairs nasty and dirty
- Tim (8/5): Dam Dive Trip, Day One - When traveling by myself, I look for inexpensive. All I need is a good shower, and a comfortable bed. Hopefully, in a clean room. This Inn fit the bill nicely. Thanks for a nice stay!
- Isaac (4/5): - Room and property dated and dirty.
- Steven (6/5): - Bare bones. No frills. Got what I paid for, a bed and hot shower. If you want more than that your gonna pay more. No pool, no breakfast, no movie cable channels, no gym, no media ctr etc....
- Josh (4/5): - It was not very clean at Ll
- ashley (2/5): - Stood in the lobby for 30 minutes and nobody was there to check me in. Called 4 times and nobody came. Had to leave and stay somewhere else
- Charles (10/5): - It was a very relaxing wonderful stay
