Guest Reviews
- Desiree (10/5): Perfect stop over on our way to Cappadocia. - Lovely friendly owners Nothing
- Anne (10/5): - Our host went out of his way to assist us even driving us to a restaurant when we got confused about where it was. Very helpful and very pleasant stay.
- Anna (9/5): -
- Leszek (10/5): You can feel atmosphere of Ottoman home. - The atmosphere is that of a true Ottoman home. You walk barefoot on the numerous rugs. The owner is very friendly and serves excellent breakfasts made with local produce. All is great
- Semih (10/5): - Temiz bir ortam güzel bir konaklama oldu
- Deniz (10/5): Excellent place.i would recommend it - It was a lovely place. They were accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional! The beds were a little hard, but we had a good sleep.
- Guest (9/5): -
- Behram (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Made me extremely comfortable. The setting and interior was very nice.

- Paul (8/5): The host and his family are very welcoming and extremely helpful and generous with his time to ensure you make the most - The property is authentically Turkish, conveniently located for the city centre, clean, comfortable and a fabulous breakfast - highly recommended Nothing really, there is some building works opposite the hotel, but this was not a problem
- Rachna (10/5): - I rated the area where the property sits high but currently there is a great deal of construction. I understand that in a few months, it will be done. We love it.
- Yphiking (9/5): If all of construction work is completed , that will be a perfect place to stay but not this summer. - The location is perfect. we can walk to all of places we were planning to visit, and car parking is no problem. The hotel building is a typical Turkish residence building with a cute garden. Recently some construction work is next to the hotel..... of course a lot of dust and noise around the hotel building when we stayed.
- Aleksandr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Borislav (10/5): Exceptional - The manager was exceedingly kind and willing to help.
- Skye (8/5): Very good - Very accommodating staff and generous breakfast, it was a lovely homely stay and close to the centre of town.
- Karin (10/5): - The hotel was wonderful and the staff were amazingly accommodating. The only downside was having to be let out and let in every time we wanted to leave or return. Offering guests a key to the gate would be a good idea.
- Shamsul (10/5): Excellent. Tqvm Mr Muammar - Safety
Services
Near shops
Near masjid
Good breakfast
- Catriona (10/5): A perfect place to explore Konya - The location in walking distance from major cultural and historical sites was perfect. The property is itself beautiful and the room spacious and decorated in traditional style.
The hosts were most hospitable providing helpful recommendations and help with tickets and communication
The breakfast has a great choice including seasonal fruits, cheeses, local flavours and cooked eggs Really there was nothing I didn’t like
- Peter (9/5): Great private guesthouse in Konya. - Very clean, friendly owners, great homemade breakfast. Close to all major sights in Konya. The word hotel is a little misleading, it is a private guesthouse where you ring a bell to get in and take your shoes off before entering. Beds could be more comfortable.
- At (10/5): Perfect place to stay and visit main Konya attractions. - Green oasis in the heart of Konya. Just five minutes on foot to the Mevlana Museum and 10 minutes to the old market. The owners are very friendly and doing their best to make your stay comfortable. Hotel is very authentic and clean. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Also, don’t miss their shop with a great selection of handmade rugs! None
- Clinton (7/5): Good - Location perfect for local attractions, but ..... .... In the middle of major construction site. Will be great when construction is done!
- Lee (10/5): Everything was just right and the people were lovely - Beautiful old Ottoman house, well looked after Nothing
- Phoebe (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (9/5): Superb - you can feel that the home- hotel itself is welcoming, as it was a turkish home in the past. The place is traditional and I felt that this is my house or a warm place I belong to. The hotel is really a precuous place and only people who appreciate home will feel it.
- Raymond (10/5): Perfect position. Close to Mevlana. - My second stay. Very helpful owner. He organised a wonderful guide. Beautiful breakfast. The best I had in Turkey. All good
- Chris (7/5): Great staff, lovely room aside from mattress. - Great old konak near center. Room right off lobby and bed was really hard.
- Meeyoung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mitra (10/5): - The host, Muammer, is a gentleman. The immediate surrounding area is under construction, and may be a little challenging for a female traveling alone, only walking back at night that is, but overall it’s a wonderful place with a wonderful host. Breakfast was really good. I loved staying there.
Next time I visit, I’m sure the construction is going to be completed, and we will have a bunch of beautiful shops right outside of the door. Overall 5++*****
- Katherine (10/5): Lovely owner very helpful - Lovely family run
Owner very helpful booked our train tickets and ordered taxis Nothing
- Judy (10/5): If you go to Konya, must stay here - The staff was very kind and gave us a lot of useful information about Konya. The facility was very clean and well maintained. Awesome hone made breakfast! Nothing
- Farkhondeh (10/5): - The best host.
- Lindsey (10/5): A lovely small hotel in a great location, with kind hosts. - The hotel was in a great location - very central and near Konya’s sites, as well as being easy to reach Catalhoyuk. The owner and his family were perfect hosts, helping us out whenever required, providing tasty breakfasts and offering excursion and restaurant advice.
- Omar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (9/5): Lovely B&B, feels like a home stay! - Excellent on everything, but beds. A little too firm and would love an additional pillow. That is nitpicking as in the middle of Turkey where preferences for mattress firmness might differ!
Owners work so hard to make you comfortable and enjoy the stay! Stay 2-3 nights and visit Neolithic site of Cataholyuk. The museum at site is world class. Wish we had stayed another day! Also visited largest wooden mosque in Beshehir, on owner’s advice wonderful suggestion! Nothing
- Ramses (10/5): - I spent two nights at the Konya Dervish Hotel last week and really enjoyed it. The location couldn’t be better, it’s right behind the Mevlana Museum, where Rumi’s tomb is. All the other main sights in Konya are within easy walking distance too.
I was actually surprised by how clean, well-organised and calm the city is. It has a really pleasant feel to it.
The hotel itself is small but very welcoming. The owner, Muamar, is a kind and helpful man, and the lady who prepares the breakfast is also very friendly. They serve a proper Turkish breakfast with lots of choice, a great way to start the day.
My room was on the front side of the house, it was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. I slept really well. Around sunset (about 5.30) you do hear the call to prayer quite clearly, it’s nearby. But that’s part of the atmosphere in a religious city like Konya!
If you’re visiting the Mevlana Museum or other Rumi-related places, this is the perfect place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it.
- Elizabeth (10/5): We were there for only one night but wished we had stayed longer. The kind host could not have done more for us. Delicio - A clean, comfortable, friendly, welcoming, traditional Turkish boutique hotel Nothing
- James (9/5): Comfortable and felt taken care of by a competent, compassionate staff - The property was close to the Mevlana Museum and was quite clean and well maintained It was very close to a huge construction project
- Emil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (8/5): Great! The hotel manager was especially helpful and puts out a beautiful breakfast buffet -
- Isibrahim (10/5): Good - Simple breakfast with scramble eggs. To leave and enter the hotel, you need to call the staff to open the gate. I feel secured staying in that hotel. No shoes allowed inside the hotel into the rooms, which assured me the floor inside my room are clean.
- Abdul (9/5): Superb - Muamar the manager was really helpful and efficient. Property was clean, great breakfast spread, amazing hospitality.
- Paula (10/5): Beautiful, clean house, perfect stay - Beautiful Ottoman house, very clean, personable owner always willing to help.
- Yifan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yuan (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful - This vintage house is amazing, very beautiful, quiet, and spacious. The location is also excellent, within walking distance to all the sights, bazar, and restaurants around. The host Muammer is very kind, friendly, and patient. He has offered us great choices regarding local restaurants and fruit markets, and he also helped us with booking buses and other things. The people here in Konya are extremely nice and friendly, and the pace of life here is just as gentle. We have truly enjoyed our time here in Konya. And we will also highly recommend the Dervish Hotel to everyone!
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house with spacious rooms and fine carpets. Our host was extremely helpful in arranging outings and buying bus tickets for our next stop. There is a lot of construction in the neighborhood which is unattractive. However, there was no noise or other inconvenience.
- Sharifah (10/5): Wonderful stay at the Konya Dervish Hotel, and we cannot wait to go back for another stay. - Breakfast was amazing, with a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and gracious. The rooms are clean and comfortable for us. The host also runs a carpet business, which is a must visit as well. There was some construction ongoing nearby which was blocking the hotel a little and our taxi had a hard time finding it as the Maps were not updated. Once there, the hotel is walking distance to many sights in Konya
- Elizabeth (10/5): Boutique hotel heaven! - To say we loved the Konya Dervish hotel would be an understatement. It is a small, boutique hotel and honestly, we felt like we were with family. It is a beautiful, historical hotel filled with warmth, care and love. The rooms, the grounds, the people are all perfect! You can feel the passion and dedication of the owner and the staff from the moment you reserve a room to the time you bid your farewells. The breakfast is an incredible spread of fresh fruit, breads, veggies, cheeses. It was more than we could ever eat and delicious. The hotel is walking distance to the Mevlana museum. We had amazing conversations with Muammer, one of the owners and are so incredibly humbled and grateful for his hospitality and kindness. This hotel deserves an A++ and we cannot wait to return. Konya and the Konya Dervish Hotel stole our hearts. It was perfect - nothing we did not like.
- Francesco (8/5): Highly recommended! - The hotel boasts an ideal location, featuring comfortable rooms and a delightful breakfast. What truly distinguishes it, however, is the remarkable staff and their heartfelt kindness. From beginning to end, they went the extra mile to assist us in planning our stay in Konya. Their commitment to guest satisfaction creates an experience that is both unique and unforgettable.
- Yiqiong (10/5): If you travel to Konya and do not live in Dervish Hotel, then it is your loss. - The cats, the carpets, the paintings, the staff, the fragrance, the books, the generosity, kindness and wisdom of the people here. My stay is too short.
- Aziz (10/5): - This place has a soul and attracts like-minded seekers of truth and reflective meditation. The owner is a gold mine of spiritual richness and the simple furnishings are a perfect setting for sojourners. Absolutely loved it.
- ZIAD (10/5): - Great hotel and service. One of the best hotels in the country for this price range, in fact.
- Victoria (10/5): Characterful guesthouse with wonderful hosts - We loved this place! Full of character with friendly and helpful hosts. Large room, comfortable beds. Within short walking distance of the main sights of Konya. Private parking and delicious breakfast. Nothing.
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful helpful hosts, delicious breakfast, warm and comfortable. A short walk to the attractions of Konya. Our hosts restaurant recommendations were spot on.
- Angie (10/5): An amazing stay in Konya - Many thanks to Konya Dervish Hotel for a wonderful time in this very special city. The building is beautiful, comfortable and clean, and there is no smoking inside. The location is amazing - it's so close to the major sites in town! Breakfast is nice, and they even have gluten-free bread. The owners are very lovely, and we felt at home almost right away!
- Neil (10/5): Central and convenient old mansion house - The location was very central for the Dervish museum and the town. Exceptionally renovated old mansion. Very helpful owner and well managed hotel. Hotel might be difficult to find.
- Mohammed (9/5): Great location, good breakfast and great conversation with Muammar - Great host Everything was great nothing to change
- Zaman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Akemi (9/5): Great location, great hotel, great value! - The breakfast was amazing. 8 feet of counter space covered in fresh fruits, cheeses, breads, olives, etc. The location was very convenient, right between the Mevlâna Kültür Center and the Mevlâna Museum. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff were very nice. They were helpful in calling a taxi when we left.
- Norman (10/5): Boutique hotel in a restored Ottoman house close to all the sights - An Ottoman house lovingly restored as a boutique hotel. The host was very helpful, and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and for places to visit. Konya is both a large modern city and a city with deep history, but the highlight is the connection to Rumi. His tomb is there and the Mevlana cultural center is a major tourist center within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel got us tickets for a whirling dervish performance Nothing
- Rakhi (10/5): - Very well maintained property, run extremely efficiently. The property is a heritage building, but beautifully maintained. Our room was surprisingly large for an old property, and had all the conveniences we needed. Located at a very convenient walking distance from the Mevlana museum & information centre. Sumptuous breakfast and very friendly and warm service. It's also helpful that the manager (owner?) speaks excellent English and is extremely personable & helpful.
- Sarah (10/5): Wonderful experience - Very nice hosts, so helpful, spotless hotel with delicious breakfast. The best location possible for visiting Mevlana complex, mosques and Bedestan. Everything was great
- Sakshi (10/5): Exceptional - This was one of the best stays I've had. A beautiful Ottomon style guest house with lush carpets everywhere and a fantastic Turkish style Breakfast with fresh coffee, fruits, nuts, cheeses and delicious breads and other local condiments. The host was exceptional with his help, hospitality, local tips, knowledge and care. They also organised local taxis and trips for us. Location is also great, few minutes walk from Rumi Museum and the whole old city. Thank you for sharing your culture and experiences so generously. Konya is a lovely city. I would love to come back and stay here again. Nothing.
- Stamatia (8/5): Nice traditional house turned accommodation. - Friendly and helpful staff. There is lots of public parking around the building. The room was nice. Spacious and decorated in an antique way. The mechanism to flush the toilet was sticking and the water would run if you didn’t push it up manually. The shower door was extremely difficult to open. There should also be a small table to put objects on near the sink that is only a bowl. Breakfast was
minimalistic. Other than hard boiled eggs there weren’t any hot items. Overall nice place just a few bathroom oddities.
- ケイコ (10/5): Wonderful hospitality! - Very comfortable stay at the traditional Turkish-style lodge, located near the city centre and major museums.
- Maja (10/5): Exceptional -
- ismail (10/5): - Temiz otantik ve ilgili arkadaslar
- Lynne (8/5): Very good -
- Traveler (10/5): Lovely stay - warm and welcoming host, comfortable beds, good location for walk to town or sites
- Michel (1/5): Oversold room - Never got to check in. We had prepaid our stay and when we got there we were told they were oversold and had no room for us. We need a refund of the prepaid amount See above
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very lovely family-run small hotel in a traditional Ottoman house. Five-minute walk to the Mevlana complex and other sights in central Konya. The innkeeper speaks English and is very helpful; the room was comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. There is parking on the property. Highly recommended.
- SHANAZ (8/5): - Nice homely hotel with a warm personal touch. The owner and his wife are lovely and extremely helpful. We booked a 9pm show and i was worried about walking back to hotel late at night. The owner said to text him after the show and he would gladly pick us up. As it turned out, the area is very safe and it was a lovely night, so we just walked back. It is in a quiet part but the action is 2 minutes away. Wonderful stay.
- Stephen (10/5): Good stay in fascinating genuinely Turkish city….not touristy - Hotel itself very nice old Ottoman house but immediate surrounding area rather unattractive.
However it is only two hundred yards from Mevlana museum and much smarter environment so location perfect.
Manager extremely helpful and friendly and full of useful advice.
Good breakfast and all parts of hotel spotlessly clean.
Good value for money.
- Charles (10/5): - The staff were amazing and could not have done anything more to ensure we were comfortable and provided excellent local knowledge, breakfast was fantastic, room and facilities were pristine, absolute delightful stay, sorry it could not have been longer, thank you very very much
- Alastair (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and informative owner. Great breakfast. Perfect location close to Mehlevi shrine and centre of old town.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Excellent accomodation,very comfortable.
Great very knoledgable and hospitable owner.
Great location easy walking distance to mst Konya attractions. Nothing
- Tugce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ava (8/5): Very good -
- Laurel (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very helpful. Upon arrival he provided us with a map, dinner recommendation, and feedback on how/where to park safely. Breakfast was very fresh and offered a lot of variety. The old Ottoman house was clean and comfortable. What a privilege to stay in such a historic and well-care for home. Close walk to the Mevlana Cultural Center and other sites within Konya. Sometimes took a bit of time to be let back in the gate, which is locked. Only an issue for us because it was very hot while waiting outside and it was time for us to leave.
- Brittany (10/5): We loved everything about our stay at the Konya Dervish Otel - Where do I begin? From the moment we arrived until we drove away, everything was perfect. The owners were amazing, the staff was amazing. They helped us get into a free Dervish show (which was so beautiful), advised us on the best food in town (ended up being some of the best food in Turkey). Thank you so much, we will absolutely be back. Inshallah 🙏🏼🌺 Loved everything!
- Jennifer (9/5): OUTSTANDING OTEL - Muammer, the hotel manager, was superb. He was so accommodating in every way going the extra mile. Recommending restaurants, lifting us to the Whirling Dervish ceremony. Nothing was too much trouble. Would like to have had our own key for the front door,as well as a kettle and fridge in the room.
- Adrienne (9/5): A lovely stay. Our host was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. - Beautiful authentic property in a great location to all the sites. Nothing
- Sylvia (10/5): Exceptional - From the minute we checked in until we checked out they were just lively owners. Nothing
- Emma (10/5): Exceeded our expectations. It was a delightful place to stay. - I don't usually write reviews but our experience at the Dervish Hotel was so good that I wanted to say thank you and recommend this hotel to others. The location is perfect for the historic centre, with restaurants, shops and historic sites all within a short walk. The hotel is a beautifully restored Ottoman house and the rooms are a good size, comfortable, and immaculately clean (including the bathroom which has a nice strong shower). Air conditioning works well but we were also able to sleep with the windows open and no air conditioning (in the height of summer) which is always a bonus. The breakfast includes a good range, including home made jams and fresh fruit and a variety of lovely fresh breads and we were offered freshly made omelettes each morning (I'm sure other cooked eggs could be requested). What makes this hotel really special is the family that own and run it. They are exceptionally helpful and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Muammar gave us excellent tips about restaurants, things to do and transport around the city and was always happy - and able - to help with all our requests. This is very much a small family run hotel so the facilities are not as extensive as large international hotel but its has a lovely garden that you can sit in and the level of care is amazing. I'm sure every guest is made to feel as welcome as we were. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Konya!!! Thank you Muammar and family for a lovely stay!
- Joost (9/5): Great and charming stay in Konya. - Great location. Very charming! Comfortable beds. Great host! Really good breakfast. Parking across the street. Nothing
- Raffaella (9/5): Superb -
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiara (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hotel, the owner is very kind. We had a wonderful stay. I would go there again.
- Catherine (10/5): A charming, wonderful dervish hotel. - This hotel was wonderful that was also historic. The room was beautiful (particularly the bed!), the bathroom perfect, and the garden charming. The head of the hotel was a fantastic person, who pointed fabulous places in Konya, as well as a terrific person (in Turkish) that helped me out in the hotel. Oh...and the breakfast was very yummy! Nothing.
- Saar (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was marvellous: fresh, with high quality products. One of the best we had in Turkey. We really had a great time. Thanks to the tips from the host, we are able to see a (free) performance by the dervishes.
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional - What can I say, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with easy access, lock up parking and freshly picked apples! This place feels like a family home but with all the benefits of a great hotel. Hospitality was second to none, lots of recommendations from the owner on the best places to eat, places that mainly locals go to, as well as all the best attractions. We felt so looked after. The owners are the most friendly and helpful people. The location is walking distance to all the main attractions. Breakfast was also amazing featuring loads of locally sourced and home made products and produce. We would highly recommend staying here for the best Konya experience! No negatives!
- Alper (10/5): Highly Recommended - During our recent visit to Mevlana Türbesi, we had the pleasure of staying at The Konya Dervish Hotel. It was an unforgettable experience! The hotel’s proximity to historical sites, including Mavlana, made it an ideal choice.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely staff who kindly asked us to remove our shoes before entering the amazing old mansion. This attention to detail reflected the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness. Fresh slippers awaited us, or we could walk barefoot on hand-knitted kilims—a testament to the immaculate environment.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and exceptionally comfortable. As discerning travelers, we appreciated the meticulous upkeep. Not a single water mark marred the shower head—an impressive feat! Undoubtedly, this is the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed.
The friendly and helpful staff at Dervish Hotel made our stay truly memorable. From parking to check-in, their warm hospitality put us at ease. They provided a local map and took the time to recommend must-see places and dining options.
The top-notch open buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations. Alongside a wide selection of nibbles, they even prepared omelettes to order—a delightful touch.
The hotel itself is a masterpiece—a gorgeous building exuding old-world charm. The high-quality rooms and impeccable service perfectly complement the elegance.
In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend The Konya Dervish Hotel. It’s not just about comfort; it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in authentic Turkish culture and hospitality.
