The breakfast room is absolutely charming and the food is delicious. WIFI is strong and stable. The pool is in excellent condition and cleaned daily. The little bar is so charming- a pool table and large sitting chairs, plus a side-room for reading. We cannot think of anything to critique.

- Janine (10/5): - Location was excellent, beautiful surroundings, peaceful and very quiet with a wonderful birdlife. There is an outdoor area to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We were upgraded to a spacious family room that has an interleading 2nd room to accommodate children. It looks like stables from the outside. 4 or 5 next to each other that have been converted to beautiful rooms. The cottage we stayed in is a family room that has been renovated and is decorated with such attention to detail in every room. There is a leather couch to watch T.V . The main room has a 4 poster bed, very comfortable, linen is crisp, clean and pillows are of an excellent quality to ensure a good night's sleep. Bathroom is very spacious, new, and clean with 2 basins and a beautiful shower. Beautiful kitchen with a new fridge, tea, coffee, hot chocolate was provided. What more would could we ask for. I thoroughly enjoyed the filter coffee in the morning! Thank you so much for the wonderful spoil Lelani & Andre. I would highly recommend Haggard's hilldrop.

Pas d’intimité quand il s’agit des 3 adultes. Lit tres confortable. Le staff du petit déjeuner était encore en vacances, donc pas de petit déjeuner proposé mais une adresse donnée. La famille qui gère l’établissement est très agréable et serviable.

- Unashamed (10/5): Fantastic half way stop between Kruger and Durban - This was the perfect place to stay for a night stay en route from Kruger to Durban. We had our 2yr old with us. The rooms are incredibly spacious. We had booked a twin room but we were upgraded to a family room which had 2 bedrooms and a kitchen area which was all very clean and had all the necessary amenities. I can highly recommend paying extra for the family room! We will definitely do that for future travels. The location was spot on, just off the N11 and the mall was a 2 min drive away so restaurants and petrol station are right there. Really convenient. They offer breakfast and dinner but we didn’t try the food because we had food with us after self-catering in Kruger. Check in & check out was friendly and seamless. The gardens and pool were immaculate and the historical building was a treat to stay at too. Honestly you can’t go wrong staying here.

The whole area was beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. Two suggestions : Please replace towels ...the ones we had were quite old. Secondly the TV picture quality was not good or clear.

- Zamandlovu (10/5): Comfortable, roomy, with very kind and considerate staff - The property is very quiet. The mature trees surrounding the property make it a perfect spot for quiet reflections during your stay. The staff is also incredibly kind and accommodating. This is why this is our first choice accommodation in Newcastle. I’m not a fan of the small showers. I think there’s enough space to create roomy showers, especially as the rooms don’t have baths. But the showers do the job.
- Caitlin (8/5): Beautiful and comfortable spot - Jade, one of the staff members, was fantastic. They were very accommodating in many ways. The bed was comfortable and clean place. There were beautiful, well-maintained gardens. They had inverters/generators for power problems. Unfortunately the power went out and thank goodness for their inverters/generators to keep the lights on. Unfortunately the power-hungry aircons could not remain on during no power and it was a very humid night! This was nothing that can be controlled however.

- Loshnee (10/5): A beautiful peaceful family holiday! Will be back! - The property is so beautiful and gardens so well maintained! It was peaceful and beautiful and the staff were all so super friendly and accommodating. The pool and bar facilities were excellent. A great suite was provided (suitable for families), so we had an amazing stay with our little ones (9yo and 3yo). They enjoyed the pool thoroughly. Close to the Newcastle mall and BlackRock Casino. Roads are in good condition if you are not using an SUV, a family car is sufficient. Nothing. Everything was lovely. I recommend carrying mosquito repellent in the summer as the gardens are lush and you will get bitten lol.

- Di (10/5): A great find. - Haggards is a historic property with beautiful gardens and excellent facilities - like the fully stocked honesty bar with pool table and sports TV and Braai area. Lovely pool area and breakfast room. It is located in a great and private location. NA
