Guest Reviews
- Kathy (8/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay. Been once before and will book again. Everything clean and comfortable
- Ryan (10/5): - Great location near all the cool antique and retro shops
- Stephen (8/5): Really Nice Apartments - Really nice apartments, modern, and all amenities and things you’d need.
- Adam (4/5): Indifferent - Was accused ,via a phone call of having extra people STAY in the room, " alerted by the cleaner" apparently. Didnt see a cleaner the 2 nights i stayed there. So assume they live there and spy on everyone coming and going thru the cameras. The tone on the phone was unwarranted and not appreciated. Nice room, overcharged the second night by $27. But good location with easy acces for visitors to come AND go.
- Anthony (2/5): - Google cant find it!
Not a great place, I will never go back!
- Peter (10/5): - Great!! Will definitely stay again.
- Susan (10/5): - Great apartment within the town. Restaurants for all tastes within 0 to 5 mins walking. Train station 1 minute walk away and supermarkets with 5 mins walk. The apartment is set out well with a full kitchen.
- Lauren (4/5): -
I recently stayed at this apartment and found it to be quite challenging in several aspects. Finding the parking was difficult, and the costs for the car stacker car park were quite high. The rooms were small and the entire place was very noisy, with everyone feeling cramped and on top of each other. Overall, it wasn't the most comfortable stay due to these issues.
- Marnie (10/5): - The rooms are good value and well located. Everything was clean and the staff were very helpful.
- Summa (10/5): Will def stay again - Amazing n helpful service
Quality room n awesome location
- Denise (8/5): - Central location. Close to an array of restaurants and cafes. Tends to be a noisy area on Fri and Sat nights.
- Mikaylah (6/5): - Usually stay here and never fault it and I won’t today but there is just a few things that could need a little attention,,
There was a smashed glass behind the air con unit once we got there ,, no dish liquid,, the air cone heater had abit of a funny mildue like smell ,, and there was a few cockroaches but I’m not blaming housekeeping for that as e be from the recent weather changes ,, other then that , can’t fault
- Guy (10/5): Ironing issue. - I had a very comfortable stay. One issue I had however was trying to do my ironing. I could only iron one or two things and the isolator in the electrical box kept tripping. Had to wait a few minites to continue then it would trip again. Very frustrating.
- Kim (10/5): Great alround - Very comfortable and very clean. Great location for our weekend in Newcastle
- Josee (10/5): - Available staff! Convenient!
- Brien (2/5): - Don't book this property unless you own a small car.
- Susan (10/5): Great appartment in a great area! - Great position. Easy access to restaurants and shopping as well as to the sights of Newcastle! The appartment is well set out with all the conveniences. Will be staying again! (Costs involved for off street parking)
- Virginia (8/5): Great - I was a bit baffled by some of the poor reviews of this place on Google. For the price, you cannot beat the space, facilities and comfort this flat offers. The checkin information was clear and efficient. The bed was incredibly comfy and so useful to have a washing machine. Yes, the pub across the road was pretty noisy on Friday night so maybe avoid if you’re very noise sensitive, but otherwise, I’d definitely recommend. Try staying at a UK hotel for twice the price, a quarter of the space and no window, then you’ll see what a bad hotel is like!
- Belinda (10/5): - Great location clean area and room. Slight plumbing issue (strong scent). But would still stay again.
- Adele (10/5): - Great location
- Geraldine (8/5): - Great location
- Craig (8/5): - The apartment was very nice inside & we even got some washing done. Wifi has free & had good signal. For the price you pay, you get a real nice base in Newcastle. The issues were on street parking nearby, which while free, was always taken & we had to walk about 10 minutes to the car. The checkin is a bit tricky & the instructions provided should actually include a picture or step by step with some images. We did work it out, but yeah, just my suggestion. The room was also letting in a bit of light at night time & it is not easy to get it nice & dark for sleeping.
- Susana (10/5): - Excellent staff especially the boss, she helped carry our stuff upstairs to another room. This awesome place is like coming home after travelling for over a week, you can finally do your laundry. Highly recommended especially for family and workers
- Kirk (10/5): - The train noise
- Christina (10/5): - We have recently stayed at Hamilton on Beaumont and were very satisfied. Although the area on our walk from the bus stop in Maitland Rd looked a bit rundown, we still felt safe and the area at the other end of Beaumont St. was better. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, even having our room ready upon arrival from our early flight. The room was very clean and well equipped. The area is excellent if using public transport with train station and bus stops nearby. Security is also excellent with a code to enter the building and a different code to enter your apartment.
- SABINE (8/5): - The apartment is in s great location . Walking distance to lots of restaurants.
- james (4/5): - The apartment was great. Large and well-appointed but unfortunately there was no warning about the noise from the hotel beer garden across the road. It was like a party was happening in the living room and went on until about 2am
- Saagar (10/5): - Great accommodation and pricing
- Verified traveler (8/5): Spacious and convenient - Easy access with code, clean, spacious apartment, convenient location, very comfortable bed!
- Dale (8/5): - Self check in is great.
A little noisy with oub across the road
- Ian (8/5): - Convenient, close to shops and restaurants, spacious apartment, clean and comfortable.
Limited onsite parking, close to railway, main road traffic.
- Glenn (10/5): - Contactless check in was really easy. No on site parking for medium size cars is an issue but overall the place was great.
- Rosa (6/5): Fine but wouldn’t stay again - Apartment was fine for a short stay, but definitely overpriced for what it was and compared to other places in newcastle.
Maybe it would have been a bit better if we didn’t have a street facing room, but the street noise and noise from adjacent train station was so loud.
For $200 a night, and especially booking through hotels.com I was not expecting to be told to clean the kitchen and take out the bins prior to departure.
Shower was tiny and shower head was not adjustable.
Location was suitable for our trip but I wouldn’t stay here again anytime soon.
- Nantana (8/5): - Nice and easy 👌
- Darryl (10/5): Good business option - Convenient to rail and dining. Close enough to Newcastle CBD to be good for business stays with more flexibility than the standard hotel fare with the kitchen.
Excellent option
- Paul (8/5): - Nice and clean
- Tim (10/5): Good place to stay - Pro
Good place to stay
Con
No AC or fan in bedroom
- Sylvia (4/5): - Called an executive serviced apartment, rooms only serviced if you stay over 7 days. Had wet towels for my 6 night stay.
Dirty under bed and behind couch.
Saucepans smelly, unable to use.
Parking was an extra $20 daily.
- Aaesha (2/5): - Disgusting
- Alexander (10/5): - Great location and amenities. Easy to park on the street (although Newcastle was not as busy due to COVID outbreak).
- Helen (10/5): - Extremely clean apartment, comfy bed, ammenities well laid out. Great for an overnight stay!
- Ash (10/5): - Well equipment, neat and tidy and perfect for business travel
- Michael (10/5): - Great kitchen/lounge and nice large separate bedroom (double glazed so very quiet). Huge TVs (x2). Would be great for a long stay too.
Bathroom/laundry neat and very clean, but could use soap/shampoo holder or shelf in shower, and another towel hook in bathroom.
Contactless check in worked fine (they send an SMS will all info and entry passcodes, and a contact number). I spoke with the contact a couple of times to clarify items and they were very helpful and pleasant.
We'll stay here again if we need to go back to Newcastle.
- Shelley (10/5): - Clean, well appointed little apartment in the centre of Newcastle. Love that they have a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Central location with only minutes to everywhere Newcastle has to offer.
- John (8/5): Hamilton on Beaumont - The keypad at the main door entry was hit and miss when entering the code to open the door.
Lots of noise from a nearby hotel, apart from these two issues was ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good facilities and close to restaurants and Newcastle attractions. Easy checking in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great spot, close to pub/restaurants on Beaumont St.
Good amenities.
- Graham (10/5): - Good location. Great cafes bars and restaurants. Easy to get to the city.Nice and clean!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location and walkability to transport and eateries
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Decent sized studio, large kitchen, big shower and 2 TVs. Due to the location, you will hear sound from the pub across the way on busy nights, but understandably unavoidable. A minute away from the train station (I barely heard the trains).
The room did have a fair few fruit flies buzzing around and the aircon leaked water after 15 minutes of use.
Onsite car stacker is accessible via Fern St in a lane way right before the zebra crossing.
Downside for us was that the cleaners making up the rooms across from us in the morning at 0900 blasted music; so that wasn't great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall my partner enjoyed our 2 night stay. For the price we got, it was really good. The only downside is checking into the hotel, I’ve been to many hotels with no front reception and haven’t had a problem, and with this hotel I did, same as others who stayed at this hotel as well. We sat in the car for 40 minutes waiting for late responses and when calling the number that was provided for assistance or help it would go straight to voicemail and say the “line was down”. We also had to ask another couple who was staying at the hotel on what to put into the keypad at the front to get inside the hotel, cause the instructions weren’t clear enough for my partner and I, and another group.
- Gregory (8/5): - Close to transport train station less than 1 minute walk, pub directly across the road which is busy but didn't seem to bother us when sleeping. Close walk 2-3 minute to food outlets, Aldi, restaurants & more pubs. Apartment was very clean & spacious with good cooking facilities. We enjoyed our stay over Christmas and cooked daily during our 9 night stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to everything that Newcastle can offer. Good facilities and we'll equipped kitchen.
- Samantha (8/5): - It was a bit nosiy at times but it was to be expected because of the pubs close by
- nick (8/5): - Very easy and convenient acommodation, comfortable bed!
On the flip side, there was some noise (from people in other apartments). However it came and went and was not a massive disturbance.
- Michelle (10/5): - Our stay was wonderful everything was spotless. This apartment block has everything you require. Highly recommended
- Nadia (10/5): - Best place I've stayed in a very long time. Looking for a nice weekend away for myself and it was probably the best place for the occasion. I will definitely be staying there again! Super affordable as well which was a massive plus for me. Thank you Hamilton on Beaumont!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good value for money and close to eat outs. Clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room size and facilities. Location perfect. Pub was noisey and a few drunks out front caused road blocks.
- Kerryn (10/5): - The apartment was really gorgeous, clean modern and equipped with everything you need
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good value for money. Close to everything. Comfortable bed.
- Neil (10/5): - Always good value!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Good - The apartment overall was comfortable and clean and was provided with a washing machine/dryer which was very convenient.
The Bad - The lack of parking was not very convenient, however the hotel offered $20 per night secure parking.
The street noise from the surrounding restaurant and bars is loud in the evenings even with the doors closed, I was woken up during the night due to party goers on the street making lots of noise.
But overall the hotel was great with the exception of the noise which unfortunately is uncontrollable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very spacious and I love the idea of a full kitchen
- Nik F (10/5): NICE PLACE ! - Nice place to stay . It’s few steps from Hamilton train station. 5 minute from Islington Park ( Nice park with the river ) so many cafe , shops , IGA , Banks etc just walk away .
The Apartment big and nice . I like that big TV in bedroom and also in living room x
Thank you !
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property was nice and very comfortable bed. Very noisy location though on a Friday night. Was woken up during night from nearby bar noise plus drinks in the apartment block.
- JAMES (8/5): - Was great... a little confusing How to get in etc...
But all good once we figured it out. Clearer instructions would have been better.
- Brett (8/5): - The apartment itself was great and well kept. However, getting in contact with reception was impossible and the keypad to enter the apartments took a few tries before it worked. There was a couple already there trying to get in with their code and it wouldn’t enter.
Luckily we eventually got it in.
- Neville (10/5): Excellent - Hi I needed to get away and chill for a night but was so impressed with the apartment I booked extra night, money for value it's a 10 the price and quality of the apartment was well worth it. Also everything as in shops, travel, food outlets it was all just out the door, so close to everything you need for a getaway
- Verified traveler (10/5): - super clean and great facilities very comfy bed will stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very happy our stay here. Great room and great location.
- Robert (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Pleasantly surprised by the quality, cost and size of my studio room, Liked the code entry. Very much liked the signage that insisted on patrons being considerate regarding noise in the later hours of the night. One issue was the very loose therefore dangerous shower head. Pointed that out to the cleaner who said she would follow up. It was Room 4.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - overall the property was fine but it really needs a fan or air con in the bedroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful new apartmemt very tidy , i have fell in love with these unit, very peaceful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room 9 was great 2 nights stay, nice balcony, excellent 5 stars !!! I will definitely stay there again.
- John (8/5): Weary traveller - Comfortable unit. Well appointed. Short walk for a great choice of food and drink
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well appointed. Comfortable. Very easy to stay. Area great for food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It exceeded my expectations. Easy check in-check out. All done by touchpad, very simple . Large and roomy. Very comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked everything. especially communication.
Thank you
- Verified traveler (6/5): - So noisy! Trains, pubs ugh. Shame cos room was nice enough & bed really comfy. Bit dirty around fridge
- Michelle (8/5): Happy stayer - The room was very lovely and also so convenient with washing machine and dryer, also a hairdryer. I loved that there was a comfy lounge as most places only have a bed but since I was staying there for surgery I needed to be comfortable therefore I thought this was fabulous. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the tv on the wall was amazing. I could not fault this room for comfort and convenience it was beautiful. Although the bedspread has several brown stains on it and the bottom sheet had a massive brown stain in the middle of the bed. The pillows also had brown stains on them. So that was pretty gross. I loved the room and it was a great size, as was the bathroom and shower. So close to several different food shops, just a heads up don’t go to Hamilton Chinese restaurant across the road, but the Malaysian restaurant downstairs was to die for, food was amazing. I would definitely stay here again, the room was brilliant.
- Sue (8/5): - All fine except the PIN code to get into the hotel did not work
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was perfect to where I was attending function
- Hope S. (10/5): GREAT AREA! - Place was very nice and I loved the area. Many great things to walk to and next to train station. I was easily able to find street parking just a few blocks away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Couldn’t fault this lovely little place to stay, clean, modern, lovely bedding.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Disappointed that there was no reference/advice to a pub by day/nightclub by night (3am) next door with two children and two adults unable to sleep due to the noise - glass being smashed, loud music and fights in the street!
Whilst the place was clean and tidy we won't be staying again or recommending anyone else to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Apartment was very clean ! Super fast wifi LOVEED it !! Close to shops and cafes and only few minutes from The city
- Verified traveler (10/5): - had a little trouble with GPS finding property, but staff were great pointing me in the right direction.
Extremly comfy bed. Property was great.
Would stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Hamilton on Beaumont provides secure, well appointed, quiet accomodation at a good price point. It is conveniently located near many quality restaurants.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well appointed; good location; would have liked a parking space as difficult to street park nearby
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Located right at busy train station and very close to 2 busy pubs... considering the noise that was going on im suprised i couldnt really hear a lot of it in the room
- Ann (10/5): Great nights sleep - Excellent appartments
- Robyn (8/5): Working away - It was a little noisy but nothing that bothered me too much. I would imagine on the weekend the story would be different. The room was very nice and clean and I was very comfortable there. I couldn't quite work out the parking but I was lucky that my car stayed on the level that I left it on.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Liked It all, clean, convenient area. Easy access to shops close by, 10mims from the beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Affordable, clean and close to everything we needed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The apartment is right across the road from a very noisy hotel/pub and nobody told us the parking was stack parking one car on top of the other even though we phoned the reception they told us nothing until we received an sms 30 minutes prior to checking in
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The apartment was very good other than the hot water which I don’t think was working as the water was only lukewarm. The building is also located in a very noisy area with pubs, trains and traffic noise easily heard. Great value for money.
- Dean (8/5): SELF CONTAINED EXCELLENCE - Excellent security. No need for carrying keys. Entry to the unit complex and apartment by key code sent to your mobile phone. Fresh and pleasant. Coffee,Tea, Sugar Milk, all supplied. Self contained and well furnished apartment. TV in both sleeping areas. Washer/Dryer Laundry facilities in the Bathroom/Laundry. Well appointed. Only down side is the pub opposite which has some late nights with moderate to loud music. Well worth the stay !
- Firulz (10/5): - Easy no fuss access with the door codes, lovely touches like biscuits, tea/coffee sachets & extra towels & toiletries etc. Very impressed & will stay again!
