The tub did not declog at all after my first shower, but it was my fault I did not know how to remove the clogging blocker 😅 the guys at the reception helped very fast! - The breakfast was ok, but nothing special.
• Thanneke (2/5): Zoek een ander, beter hotel. Een dat wel comfort biedt. - De ligging van het hotel is erg gunstig. Aan de Royal Mile en op loopafstand van de vervoershub. Het hotel is 24 uur per dag open en het personeel is vriendelijk. Er zijn liften, dus ook voor evt. mindervaliden zijn de kamers bereikbaar Wij hadden een appartement geboekt voor 7 nachten. Kosten: €.3122,00 Euro, zijnde €.446.00 per nacht. Ik verwacht dan een verblijf dat tip-top is. En dat was het dus helemaal niet. Het meubilair was karig. Er was 1 bedbank en 1 stoeltje waar niet op te zitten viel. Een krakkemikkig houten tafeltje met een bureaulamp en een krukje. En een eettafeltje met 2 houten stoeltjes. Verder was er een TV die niet werkte. Een verwarming in de badkamer die kapot was. Op de wanden van het toilet zaten vlekken, idem in de badkamer. De kasten in de slaapkamer sloten niet, omdat het schuifdeuren zijn, en de vloer niet waterpas is. Kortom, de deuren blijven op het laagste punt hangen. Bij aankomst bleek dat er geen schoonmaak was, en geen handdoekenwissel. Dat kón wel, maar kostte per keer 17 Pond en 7 Pond. Maar de druppel was de douche. Adagio bepleit reductie van watergebruik. Aan de douchedeur hangt het cynische bordje: A gift of water. In ons geval betekende dit dat men een douchekraan heeft gemonteerd die het water vermindert zodra warm water wordt toegevoegd aan de koudwaterstroom. Tot een punt dat er geen water meer uit de douche komt. Kortom, om ons te douchen hadden we óf koud water. Óf zo minimaal warm water dat wanneer ik de douchekop omkeerde (gebruikelijk sproeit het water dan omhoog) het water 1 cm opsproeide. Kortom, je werd niet nat in de douche. Een melding bij de receptie leverde niets op. Een hotel dat zijn gasten elke vorm van comfort ontzegt, verdient geen sterren. Een hotel dat met het bordje : A Gift of Water, bedoelt dat ik, als gast, geen gebruik kan maken van het comfort van een werkende douche, verdient geen sterren. Ik vond het bordje bijna een belediging. Ik kan leven met ongemakkelijkheden. En in een hostel van €150,= per nacht… hoor je me niet. Maar bij: €.3122,00 Euro voor 7 nachten. En nul service of comfort? Om je dood te schamen.

• Sheree (7/5): It was okay but I think you could find a better hotel closer to the main part - The location was good and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were not very friendly or helpful. The hot breakfast was very dried out. The bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns were cooked in a conventional oven and had been sitting on the hot plate for a long time.
• Rosemarie (5/5): not as enjoyable as i hoped - Great location We had an apartment which i use loosely for 4 people, this was not adequate for 4 people sharing, very very little room and too much furniture in the main room. Bathroom door was rough at the bottom and we had to go and ask for toilet roll with only 2 supplied on arrival. We also had to keep fixing the rubber seal inside the front door. I have to say from my previous visit, i was very disappointed 🥲

All a bit tired, things not working so well, not being fixed. We stayed here about 8 years ago and thought it wasn’t so good this time, all a bit tatty, cracks on the bathroom mirror, not all lights working, dishwasher coming away from the fixings, chipped crockery, worn sheets, no bedside table. Needs a refurb to expect us to pay these prices!!

A localização é o que há de melhor neste hotel. Acho que, com o valor que cobram, deveria ter arrumação no quarto, afinal é um apart-hotel com tarifa de hotel.

• Stephane (7/5): Bien pour 1 ou 2 nuits, proche gare - Emplacement nickel, au bout de la rue historique et 5 mn de la gare. Bon accueil. Chambre 2ème étage donnant sur la rue pietonne (et non pas la rue principale) calme mais terrasse de bar, pas de vue (vue sur le mur d'en face), fenêtre qui s'entre-ouvre seulement (pas testé la climatisation), VMC bruyante (en soustrayant la carte d'entrée, donc en coupant l'électricité, la VMC se coupe au bout d'un temps. Bon équipement de la cuisine (avec liquide vaisselle, torchon et éponge) et salle de bain honorable. Conclusion: c'est un très grand ensemble avec des dizaines de chambres, pratique pour ceux celles qui prennent un train tôt et ou qui ne séjourneront pas dans la chambre. Petit-déjeuner à 20£, impasse a été faite.

• Silke (8/5): Toplocatie met supervriendelijk personeel! - Supervriendelijk personeel en heel goede locatie op wandelafstand van alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden. Dichtbij halte van de bus tussen centrum en luchthaven. Kamer was ruim genoeg en voorzien van alle nodige faciliteiten. Zeker een aanrader voor een citytrip in Edinburgh en goede uitvalsbasis nabij station om de trein te nemen naar andere steden in Schotland. Het bed was niet super om op te slapen (was een bed dat ingeklapt kon worden tegen de muur), kussens waren ook niet zo comfortabel. Toch goed geslapen door de vermoeiende dagen en geluidsdichte ramen (ook al zaten we aan de straatkant).

The air conditioning (heat) didn't work. It seems that they knew about this problem and still rented the room. They did give us compensation after we insisted.

• Megan (9/5): Comfortable spacious accommodation in an excellent location - Spacious room, comfortable bed, brilliant kitchen space, lots of storage space and very helpful staff. It was very quiet for such a central location. Bedside lighting could be better - not suitable if one person wants to read, and the other wants to sleep. We would have preferred a cafetiere rather than the coffee pod system provided. It was also pretty pricey, but that seems to be the norm for most properties in central Edinburgh

• Cristina (8/5): - It was in the heart of Edinburgh but at the same time in a quiet area. I loved the fact that you could immediately get to any main attraction point. I would have appreciated changes of towels and cleaning the room free of charge on a daily basis or at least every two days. Also in our last day, when we checked out and wanted to leave the luggages at the reception, me and my friend had to tag on our own the luggages and carry them in the luggage room while the receptionist was looking at us. The same thing happened when we picked them up, we had to pick up the luggages on our from the luggage room. I found it very disrespectful.

• Cherie (9/5): An excellent base - Appearance of the building indoors and out. Excellent staff, approachable, very helpful, charming and courteous. The room had everything we needed, storage was good. Loved the quirky hooks for coats etc. Liked the fact you had your own space but also a fair amount of social space. Felt safe, would stay there on my own. Bed was too firm for us but probably that's not the case for younger and less achey bods.
