Guest Reviews
- Linda (8/5): The right place at the right time and very good value for money. - Location to the hospital was important. Friendly staff, good quality, fair prices. Charming environment as well.
- David (6/5): - Nice clean room Room hot
- James (5/5): Room was ridiculously hot so had to have windows open but due to being right next to very busy road the noise was very l -
- Nicola (8/5): Another lovely stay. Love it here. - Perfect location. Loads of parking. Very comfy room. Very peaceful. Great food and lovely pub. Breakfast was excellent. Could just do with refilling low drinks/pastries as not much choice on second morning. Bathroom could’ve been cleaner and shower pressure poor. Bathroom bit tired. But minor things. Would be nice to have option of charging car.
- Denise (10/5): Great location - Location was perfect, comfy bed and a good breakfast. Staff were friendly. Shower door did not close properly and door to room needs some maintenance, a bit tight to close.
- Marie (8/5): - Location for Chorley hospital The room was cold
- williamson (3/5): -
- Niki (7/5): 3 night stay with breakfast - The cooked breakfast was excellent 👌, continental was not well stocked especially juices and pastries but all very nice.
Key system excellent Rooms small, but clean

- Jane (9/5): Very nice comfy hotel, great food and location for M61 - Friendly helpful staff - nice restaurant and bar on site, good parking, comfortable room The very hot room, despite turning off radiator, extremely hot water pipes around skirting boards made us quite uncomfortable during the night. Not sure why they weren’t turned off or down at night.
- Marian Cros (8/5): - The hotel is on the main bus route. The restaurant food was delicious and the breakfast was very good. Everything was fine, nothing to complain about.
- Adrienn (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Cost effective, clean, good access, great breakfast and lovely staff - Clean tidy and fine for a brief stay Personally too warm even with radiator turned off. Very firm mattress.
- Chris (10/5): Friendly stay and comfortable stay. - Quiet and comfortable Nothing that comes to mind. All was good
- Maureen (5/5): - The mattress and pillows were very hard although the bedding and towels were clean. Some work needs to be done to repair woodwork around the bathroom door. The en-suite was very small and I had to keep the bedroom door open to use the sink.
- Scott (8/5): - Convenience The pillows
- Valerie (9/5): very good i will be back - The whole experience. The staff were very welcoming and keen to please. They worked as a team. I entertained family to dinner and they were pleased with the whole experience. Breakfast very good value Nothing really
- Dene (10/5): -
- geoffrey (9/5): Very pleasant hotel - would recommend -
- will (6/5): -
- Tina (9/5): Good location, good breakfast, clean and comfy bedroom, good value - Compact bed room with everything I needed very clean. Staff very friendly. Great location with a good bus route to and from Chorley town takes about six minute. Although next to a busy road, I hardly heard the traffic. Good breakfast plenty to eat. Good value stay. Nothing wrong at all. Excellent would stay there again.
- Lin (10/5): Fabulous - Customer service is second to none. We had an evening meal, the food and service exceptional. Breakfast was the same. We travelled for a wedding and the accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend Nothing!!!
- Paul (7/5): - , ,
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Trisha (6/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Great time meeting up with family and friends - The location, the warmth, the attentive staff Its a bit dated and guests have no control over the heating
- Andrew (4/5): Needs Maintenance work - Location was handy for my requirements Windows were covered in cobwebs and wouldn't close so loads of vehicle noise all night.Shower was tiny . Tatty room
- Gareth (10/5): -
- gibbons (8/5): - Location also nice clean room comfy bed
- lee (4/5): Unfortunately I was totally underwhelmed as was my partner - The location This is billed as a hotel. It is far from being a hotel
It needs closing and given a top to bottom thorough clean
I made a reservation for dinner via the AIBot and then got a call from a human asking if we could come earlier as they had chef problems
I was just boamy flight to England so given it was billed as a hotel I thought 20:30 in the evening was not an unreasonable time and being a resident
A pub with rooms is from being a hotl
- Rabulo (7/5): - La ubicaciĂłn El desayuno
- Mark (8/5): -
- Trevor (8/5): Value for money, comfortable but noisy - Close to where I needed to be the next day Too noisy near the main road
- Pat (10/5): -
- Makinson (8/5): -
- carl (8/5): -
- Dan (8/5): Good nights sleep. - Was comfortable and clean
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only negative was grout around shower needs freshening up. But all in all no issues.
- pete (6/5): Adequate - The staff are great. The windows are in poor condition and draughty. Entrance is awkward as the hotel is on a busy intersection.
- Scott (7/5): -
- Jeff (9/5): Excellent - Clean and welcoming
- Leon (8/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): -
- James (7/5): - Location great staff Bathroom a little tight for someone neatly 6ft
- Darren (10/5): Love it here and highly recommended. - The staff are (and have always been) the nicest I have met. Super helpful and friendly. Lovely people and a credit to the organisation. Food is always excellent and great value for money. Love it here and a superb location. Like most hotels, there is always a bit of wear and tear but nothing a quick lick of paint would not fix. Nothing major.
- Nicola (6/5): A nice stay. Good value. Could do with a little attention to detail. Grout in en suite. But tired in places. - Perfect location. Really clean. Lovely decor. Nice and warm and cosy. Toilet cistern was so noisy my husband had to switch it off or it would’ve kept us awake all night -was making a right racket. Very low pressure on shower. No shower gel in en suite. Rooms are very small and quite dark but was fine for one night. Very well appointed. Good value for money.
- Morwoodbb (9/5): I enjoyed my stay and would book again when staying in Chorley - Enjoyed my stay, staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Little dissapointed in the breakfast as it was lukewarm apart from the egg which made me think it had been precooked.
Had a meal in the restaurant with family and it was beautiful all round. Breakfast could have been better.
- Amy (10/5): Affordable, pleasant stay with great service. - Great staff, very helpful and friendly! Very nicely kept and clean, tidy rooms, great service and lovely quiet building for the hotel rooms that avoids the noise of the pub itself. Parking spaces right outside as well so very convenient and in such a convenient location for travel being just off Preston Road. Room was very warm - uncomfortably warm even! - all the time, shower water pressure was terrible and the shower hose-head leaked a lot! That was it, so just small niggles and nothing significant that was a problem.
- Rachel (8/5): Kind, welcoming and friendly. - We didn’t actually end up staying at Hartwood Hall as our room had been flooded but the lovely manager Nathalie contacted us as we were leaving home to inform us and let us know about availability in a nearby hotel. We booked that hotel and Nathalie said she would reimburse our Hartwood stay but because we had then had to book so last minute at the alternative hotel it had cost more so she kindly gave us a free meal at Hartwood on our first night to make up the difference. All staff were super friendly and knew in advance about our circumstances. Food was lovely.
- Stephen (9/5): Excellent l would definately use this hotel again - The room l was given was clean and spacious. The bar and restaurant areas were well laid out and well presented. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Nothing
- Bev (7/5): - It was small but cosy the beds were a little yo hard but other than that we had a good stay
- Curtis (7/5): -
- Chris Golds (3/5): I wish I had gone somewhere else. - Not much The food, the charges, the bathroom size, the breakfast
- Steve (7/5): - Breakfast nice. Road busy so kept waking up with traffic noise.
- gillian (10/5): A perfect place to stay before surgery at the local hospital - The room was perfect and the food was very good and great value for money. I liked everything
- Joanne (5/5): I wouldn’t stay again - The lad who checked me in was lovely but apart from that pretty poor. Room was far too hot, mould in the bathroom, very noisy rooms, bar closed at 9.30pm and breakfast was cold
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Rob ( Vaporline Ltd) (3/5): Disappointing to say the least. - Not a lot . Ate there in the evening, what a mistake. Ran out of most of the food and steaks so settled for a rump steak. Bad decision. Ordered a draft IPA , even that was not on , so what draft ales have you got.....none. Service with a smile ....not. Lots more work to do in the area , will we return......Noooooo. Will our other contractors be using your establishment now....Nooooooo.
- Isabella (10/5): Great ideal location nice clean hotel friendly staff - Convenient location clean rooms Heating wasn’t the best but it wasn’t freezing
- Ian (10/5): excellent value will definitely book again - pleasantly surprised at the quality of room for the price
the breakfast was superb and included sour dough toast with salted butter a real treat nothing
- Martin (6/5): -
- Debbie (6/5): Reasonable rooms with friendly staff. - Friendly staff. Pokey room, noisy.
- Ashleigh (8/5): - We thought is was very cosy for a couple
- Angela (4/5): Over priced very small room - Location - we were attending a family function at Hartwood Hall. Buffet - hot food was mostly slightly warm, deep fried food very greasy,
Accommodation poor standard of cleanliness (eg needed vacuuming, shower door dirty) & room very small. No pillow protectors & grimy pillow, the other was very hard so didn't sleep much.
Breakfast wasn't great. No forks, no juice, no fruit, no side plates. Ran out of butter, hot water & coffee. Had to keep asking for things. Food was ok but left most of the bacon as it looked under cooked. Poached egg however was spot on!
- Lewis (9/5): -
- Matthew (6/5): -
- Heather (8/5): -
- Patricia (6/5): A bit disappointed with the room and breakfast - Staff were very friendly and helpful The room was quite small and too hot and the radiator couldn’t be turned off. The sausage on the breakfast was inedible.
- Eileen (9/5): Excellent - Incredibly helpful staff made our stay for a night very good . I am gluten free and so advice from Naeve and help from staff was so good.
- Samantha (10/5): - Excellent friendly staff would stay again
- Lorraine (9/5): - Location from the motorway and the office was perfect and I be staying again. There is nothing to dislike.
- Julian (4/5): Eclectic - Convenient for work Just bizarre issues every day.
- Helen (4/5): Practical but would not return - Room was spacious, good amount of plugs. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Plenty of parking available. Nice yoghurt at breakfast. Cupboard in room (hair dryer) dusty. Shower was temperamental and not powerful. Room was very warm. Breakfast extremely limited and no milk. Need some music or similar in breakfast room to help atmosphere. Staff were not in any way urgent!
- Stephen (10/5): -
- kevin (6/5): Position well - Location for my next days work along with the price. Rooms need some love
- Carole (7/5): -
- andrew (10/5): Great Stay - Room cosy and comfortable....was expecting a single bed....but was pleasant surprised to be upgraded to a double room....best night sleep in 3 nights of hotels....
Great location, minutes from the motorway junction....ample parking, a well stocked bar and restaurant. Even pool table.... Bar was closing at 10pm.....only arrived at 0930pm.....would of been nice, to be able to chill out for a while.....it's a lonely place travelling around the UK....solo, the evening rest period, helps everyone to at least keep the human interaction....
- Graham (9/5): -
- Joe (2/5): -
- Janet (6/5): -
- David (8/5): - Cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Room was smaller than I would prefer - but had everything I needed.
- Anita (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Friendly, welcoming staff - The room was clean and functional. There was a restaurant which was good value and a continental breakfast from 7am
- Peter (8/5): - The bar and restaurant are nice. The hotel room was a bit small. And maybe slightly overpriced.
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Kenneth (9/5): - Excellent breakfast and hotel stay was good value. Nicola particularly helpful and welcoming. The only negative was the shower which was temperamental changing rapidly from comfortably to cold. This needs to be addressed. See above.
- Trevor (9/5): Great - Great location , cooked breakfast was fab Could do with double glazing
- Steve (7/5): Ordinary Pub Accommodation - Well co-located with a nice pub and restaurant. Quite small room
- Drashell (9/5): Ideal pick for this area. - Great Location, close to bus stop, the beautiful temple, and a few good restaurants. Room was smaller but still cost and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Very secure with a locked entrance but the area felt safe regardless. Even though it’s owned by the nearby restaurant it is in a separate building so there was no noise from
The pub in the evenings. I would stay here again and also recommend. Nothing, I enjoyed my stay.
- Nicola (6/5): Great staff, location & food but a working shower would’ve great. - The rooms were a little tired but the single room I was in didn’t have a shower that worked, from what I understand they get someone out regularly to fix it - maybe need to change contractor. Shower actually didn’t work at all on the second day.
Moved rooms but was very strong smoking smell so 3rd time lucky .
Food was great in the restaurant but the staff were all great. Really friendly and helpful. Shower in room 9 - please get it sorted. I will be in the area for another 2 weeks but will book elsewhere. Really disappointed as the restaurant and staff were great.
- Chris (7/5): Good location, plenty of parking. - Nice Pub, good food choices. Maybe a little understaffed at the Bar with a little wait now and then but OK Bathroom was a little tired, cubicle shower with little to no water pressure which is very important to me when choosing a hotel.
