• Alexandria (10/5): - If I ever need a hotel to stay near the Bergen airport, this is the one I would choose. It is an easy walk to the airport (about 3-5 minutes) and breakfast is included. I like that they have an early bird breakfast that starts at 4:30 am for guests who have early morning flights. I love the clean, modern design of the hotel. The beds are super comfy. Check in was simple. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. -A special shout out to Fredrik for helping me figure out the lights as well as how to get to the city center. Thank you! All of this made for an easygoing and inviting atmosphere which I really appreciate. Staying here was like a breath of fresh air. This is a hotel that lives up to its name.

You might think for an airport hotel they could provide a wake up call. The location is incredibly convenient, being in easy walking distance from the airport

Breakfast buffet was good and available early for those with an early flight. Restaurant is order via app and then pick up food from counter when they text you. However, I didn't get the text saying food was ready. When I went to look for it I found it on the counter and cold. Staff said he'd been shouting me 6/7 times. Which is odd as I wasn't far from the counter and the restaurant was very quiet. Could quite easily have brought the food over and asked who was waiting. Tech, which doesn't work, over personal service. I complained at reception and got full refund.

Coffee and brreakfast from 4:30 a.m. for those catching early flights. Well appointed gym. Either desk or handy self-checkin. A+

• Sharon (6/5): Wouldn’t stay again I’m afraid! - Pretty basic room, bathroom not the cleanest I’ve seen and the products shampoo/shower gel left my hair feeling brittle and dry. I hadn’t taken my own as they had provided them at my previous property. Little bit upset that there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and had to go to the reception to ‘buy’ a hot drink, after travelling all day it was the first thing that I wanted. There was an awful smell lingering in the corridors on the 4th floor all evening after we arrived… like a burning rubber type smell…most unpleasant. Also wanted a nice meal when we arrived but due to staff illness all they could offer was burger and chips…we decided against that as it is not something that we eat. Would I stay again? Probably not, on arrival to Norway a week before, we stayed at one of the other airport hotels for the same price and was sooo much nicer, with much more to offer. Bed was comfy and staff were friendly

• dhwani1280 (10/5): Great stay!! - We had a pleasant stay at Comfort Hotel Bergen Airport. It’s just a stone’s throw from the airport, very clean, and equipped with all the essentials. A special thanks to Chef Adam who went above and beyond by preparing a vegetarian pesto pasta for my 4-year-old, even though it wasn’t on the menu. We really appreciate his efforts and thoughtfulness. The staff were cheerful and welcoming. The early bird breakfast starting at 4:30 am was excellent with plenty of options. While it’s a bit away from the city center, it’s well connected, so that wasn’t an issue.

Easy check-in, helpful and friendly staff, and a spacious lobby (with a mini pool and ping pong tables + powered work stations) caters to all transit populations. If I had to be picky, I would've liked to see a tea/coffee maker in the room.

• R2396AZpaulh (2/5): Comfort? For whom? - This is the hotel equivalent of a Ryanair flight. Let's start with the positives. It's less than a five minute walk from the airport which is always a welcome thing and well signposted. The staff were cheery and check-in was efficient. Then begin the disappointments... The rooms are clean enough but Spartan and my double bed is equipped with a single duvet laid on the top which doesn't come remotely close to either side of the bed itself. On this occasion I was a solo occupant but had I been here with my partner we would have had to lay in the middle of the bed if we both wished to be covered, preferably without moving unless negotiated. I mean, the mind-numbing pettiness of buying single duvets for double beds... Is it even a saving? 'Comfort' would not be the word that topped the list in my description of the mindset that dreamed up that policy. Then there's the restaurant. This is an endeavour entirely designed to minimise staff numbers and make the customer do as much of the work as possible. (It's for our comfort you see). A tiny menu with five options (the only one of which I wanted was the ribs which were sold out) must either be ordered at reception or via a QR code. You also have to order your own drinks and carry them across to the restaurant; if you decide if you want a top-up back to reception you go. They cover this by calling the area 'Barception' in yellow neon. Once you have ordered you get a beeper and then have to walk to the far end of the hotel in the kitchen to pick up your own food when it goes off. I ordered a glass of red wine after waiting for the barception (see, you're used to it already!) staff to check some incoming guests in. They had a choice of two which she pointed to and I said 'I'll have the Côte du Rhone please'. She looked at me blankly, having no idea which of the two options I was talking about despite the fact it was written on the bottle. 'This one?' she asked, pointing to the wrong bottle. This sounds like I'm being mean about her and I don't want to, as she was sweet. But clearly not sweet enough to merit the training involved in asking her to memorise a two option wine list. There aren't really any local eating alternatives . I know because I asked. You could either get a 400 krona (£40) each way cab into Bergen or order a pizza from the nearby airport restaurant but you'd have to eat that in your own room and then sleep in the stink of it all night. Of course, the fact that the customer does all the legwork means the overworked staff don't get any service tips but one can hardly expect a company that displays such a absence of regard for customers to spare a thought for its employees. Prices for a night start from €100 which is pretty much average for a three star hotel anywhere else in Europe; you might even get you nice four star in Greece or Spain in low season but this being Norway it's considered cheap. If proximity and budget dominate your considerations and you don't mind either overpriced fish and chips or a burger, self service and a mini bedspread then this will do for you: the reason I'm giving it so much stick is that I stay in dozens of similar hotels in a course of a year that for the same price actually do make some effort to treat the customers as if they're in a hotel. It's a good rule of thumb that any hotel which names itself 'boutique' in its title, or any country that uses the word 'democratic' in its nomenclature actually isn't. If it was, it wouldn't need to say so. The comfort hotel exemplifies this rule of thumb.

• Roger (10/5): So convenient for the airport. - The rooms were clean, staff friendly and above all the location was just a couple of minutes walk from the airport. The restaurant worked with an online menu, so you pre-order and your meal is ready when you want!

We were still trying to get food as they were putting it away and putting barriers up. Recommend letting the people that get in before 0930 to still get food.

She was very confidently no kettle any more in this hotel, but the boy besides her told her there are some kettles available. She needs to show more professionalism, more smiling.

Staff, friendly and helpful We were able to enjoy dinner there which was great that we didn't have to search out another restaurant. Breakfast was awesome. So many choices.. delicious.

Check in was easy tried the self check in but i had a problem so was helped at the check in desk,Staff were patient and friendly.Being a strawberry member i had my free coffee . Room was clean and comfortable with a great shower. my son used the gym and we ordered food via the app which was easy to use .Food choices were basic but food was prepared quickly and was tasty enough.We had to be out very early so just managed to grab a quick cold drink and a slice of bread in the morning .I am sure the hot breakfast is good but we didn't have time. Quick walk to the airport so location is perfect.

• Louise (4/5): - Two good things: proximity to the terminal and a pleasant and efficient night manager Fredrik. Huge negative, the loud and thumping music everywhere downstairs in the evening including the dining area AND outside, so no escape. For this reason alone I won’t stay again nor recommend it to friends. The food choices were poor too, one pasta dish plus all fried food for dinner, and very basic breakfast.
