- Kelly (2/5): Dont recommend. The other 5* hotels in Coimbatore are all far better than the Radisson - Cafe: I bought 2 cakes to take back home. One good thing I can say about Radisson is, their cakes were amazing. Such a shame the restaurant and the overall stay experience were terrible. The room: nice size and space, compared to residency or vivanta, the Radisson has the largest and nicest bathrooms. But the AC made the room smell mouldy. The staff: most were friendly and polite. John the travel manager was very lovely and kind and made the booking process very easy. The attendant who first carried the luggage to my room was very kind, I think his name was Balaji. However the drivers employed by Radisson are really bad, there's non existent communication and trips are very poorly organised, the worst I've ever had. And as I mention below, one of the check-in staff was rude, extremely slow, and unhelpful. Check-in experience: extremely slow and disorganised. Asian girl at the counter not very friendly. It took 30 minutes just to check-in. I was exhausted after a long day, it shouldn't take that long, there was no queue. But the process itself was far too long. Additionally the hotel charged me in GBP without asking how I wanted to pay. I always pay in INR. So I got extra fees from the conversion and bank charge. I queried this because the hotel should always ask first, but they didn't offer to refund the extra charge which was their fault. Asian girl just stares at you with a stone face while confirming that yes I wasn't given the choice and got overcharged, with a 'so what?' type of vibe and zero apology. Trip to Ooty: the Radisson car was the worst and oldest badly maintained car I've been in during my entire stay in India. You pay premium price for poor quality. The window was completely blurry as it had a protection sticker on the glass and half of it was peeled off, leaving sticky residue all over and obscuring the visibility. Additionally the windows only opened half way, so you couldn't even enjoy any view because the blurry half was in your face and ruined the experience. What's the point going to Ooty when you cannot look out the window for views!??? In the first 5mins of being in the car I was itching like crazy as it had mosquitos inside. The other passenger side window had large scratches and marks all across the blurry sticker which again obstructed the view, and the back window was cracked. If you are spending the whole day in a car it's important the car is good. For comparison I've never ever had any of these issues mentioned during any uber car ride whilst travelling in Coimbatore (and I've taken well over 70). Nobody informed me before the trip I needed small change for passing tolls/entry roads but the driver was asking for extra money for it.

I had also sent a request for early check-in and early check-out (around 9 PM the same day), but there was no response—most likely the property never received it from Booking.com. At check-in, it was clear that the staff were not properly trained. They were unable to retrieve my booking and said they would need to wait for the reservations team to come in. I arrived at 7 AM and was told everything would be sorted by 9 AM . However, there was no proper handover to the day staff, and when the next shift came in, they had no idea about my situation. At 9 AM, I had to explain everything again to a new set of employees, who then asked me to pay an early check-in fee of ₹3,500. Eventually, the issue was resolved by around 10:30 AM, and I was given a room with an upgrade. Overall, the experience was quite frustrating. The lack of communication between staff, poor coordination, and attitude made the process unnecessarily difficult. I doubt they will do anything on this review as well.
