Guest Reviews
- Homeros (8/5): -
- Christoph (9/5): -
- Lennard van Kesteren (8/5): - We stayed at the two bedroom apartment. It was clean and spacious. Not bad at all for the price you pay. Staff was very helpful and even walked with us to our apartment to show us around. Breakfast wasn't served until 8.15. We had to leave at 7.45 so weren't able to have breakfast. Did not see or hear the owner as mentioned in other reviews. The neighbourhood is indeed very bad though.
- Miroslaw (5/5): - Die Lage. Die Appartement Tür war defekt und nicht schließend. Für Gruppe 6 Personen zu klein. Wenn das Sofa ausgezogen war, könnte man die Schlafzimmer Tür nicht schließen.
- AHMED (1/5): Very disappointing experience. - The location was average and didn’t feel very safe Very disappointing experience.
I had already paid my booking in full, but when I arrived, the receptionist forced me to pay an extra 33 euros or I wouldn’t be allowed to check in. She said it was a mistake from Booking.com and told me to cancel my original booking and make a new reservation directly with the hotel. She also told me to complain to Booking.com for a refund. My family and I felt badly treated, and when I asked for help with the Wi-Fi (which didn’t work), she completely ignored me. Definitely not the service I expected after full prepayment.
- Fatema (10/5): - Vert good service and Apartments.
- Dario (9/5): Superb -
- Josef (7/5): Good - Decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Walking distance to the city centre.
- Mairead (9/5): Superb - Georgia was so helpful and gave us great advice in local things to do and where to eat. I don't often leave reviews but the way she looked after us was exceptional
. We loved the apartment, the location, the beautiful town of Batsi, and the friendly people, an added bonus was the great vegetarian food available in the traditional restaurants.
- Kastriot (1/5): Bad -
- A R (4/5): Don't be so rude. - The apartment looks better in the pictures. Half of everthing works. The lift is tiny. They changed the price of the breakfast option. The staff are helpful, though their English is limited. The manager is rude and insulted my son.
- Zoltan (7/5): If you are looking for a place to return after a long day this is a good place to stay. - Great arrangement of rooms, comfortable size beds and kitchen. Decent restaurants in the area, tourist sites are close, popular destinations are a few metro stops away. Mold spots on the ceiling in the bathroom. A few blocks down there are homeless camps. Streets are dirty.
- Ligal (9/5): Superb -
- yifat (6/5): - We put things in the safe in the room on the last day the safe was not opened and they forced us to pay a safe breaker they didn't take responsibility
- Umberta (7/5): Good - Air conditioning Breakfast
- Maohang (8/5): The stay was good, but the - Location was great, realitively close to the city centre, not too far or close away from city or airport. Metro station really close by. At night the the area seemed a bit sketchy with police up and down the streets.
- Majid (1/5): سيئه جدا جدا جدا ولا انصح به - I did not like anything. The place is not clean and the furniture is not suitable. When I went to sleep, my body started to itch because the bed was not clean. The breakfast was very bad and the service was not good. Nothing I liked at all. The way the hotel dealt with me was fraud and deception. I booked through Booking.com and paid the fees due through Visa. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was surprised that if I did not pay 40 euros, the reservation would be cancelled. I was forced to pay because I had my family with me and we arrived tired from traveling. So I demand that Booking.com return the amount I paid in cash to the hotel.
- Dinesh (10/5): Nice Apartment for Small Families of 3/4 - Location
Cleanliness
Air Conditioning
Everything was good. Lift to go to apartment. Very Small. Can fit only 1 person at a time.
- Naamar (7/5): Basic clean apartament with friendly staff in a bad area for kids - Relativly large apartment, clean with friendly staff Bad area if you are planning to walk with kids
- Marek (5/5): Ok for the price if you're planning to stay for one/two nights - Location was OK, in the city center, maybe a bit too loud at night because there's a huge roundabout next to the hotel.
Staff was nice Outdated information cards in the room - there was wrong hour about the check out and the wrong password to WiFi.
Also there was no electricity in the room in the morning plus no hot water. Fortunately that issue was solved quicky.
Breakfast very minimal, only a few slices delivered each time, so we had to get what's there instead of what we liked
- Dilyara (10/5): Smart price for very good apartment - We visited Athens for 2 days/nights. Meni Apartments Hotel has very good location: Metro station just within 2 min walk and City Tour Red Bus is 2 min too. We were 5 people in spacious and very clean two rooms apartment. Thanks a lot for comfortable accomodation!
- Peter (10/5): Very good location to get around Athens by transport. - A great place to stay, and great value for money. Not the prettiest neighbourhood, but very convenient and right across the road from the Metro and bus X52 that takes you to the central bus station of Athens. Very important if you dont have a car, as our 3 attempts to catch a taxi was denied by the 3 rude , uncultured taxi drivers. ( not far enough to make it worth their while)
- Jeffery (8/5): - See lots homeless people on the street.
- Conner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivienne (8/5): Very good - Comfortable beds, great aircons, great blackout shutters and curtains. Not much in the way of cooking utensils - no pots. A little noisy at times.
- Moe (8/5): - We got better than what we pay.
- Ralph (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a spacious and well maintained apartment that fit our needs and then some. We are thinking about staying here again if we find ourselves in Athens.
- Virkietienė (9/5): Superb - the location is great, but you can hear the street noise. The apartments are great. the ratio of price and location is very good.
- Mark (3/5): Don't stay here because of the unsafe Location and the Manager of Reservations rudeness. - The flat was renovated and clean. There was enough space for 4 people to be there comfortable. The person that checked us in, as well as the Head Cleaning person were very friendly and helpful. The location did NOT make us feel safe. Just 1 street away from the hotel we saw addicts taking drugs.
The price was also very high especially for this type of location.
Last issue... we needed to change our reservations. The Manager of Reservations, Luis, did not respond to booking.com nor my daily constant requests by email and phone, for more than 6 days. When I finally did speak with him, he was rude and not helpful.
- Wharehoe (10/5): Excellent - The owner and staff were magnificent. A pleasure to deal with
- Joseph (8/5): Nice enough for the price - Everything was clean, most shops and food close by. Kitchen had plenty of plates etc. Looked nice from the front, adjoining areas were run down. The lift was very small, and the kitchen was too small for 4 people.
- Wharehoe (9/5): Superb - Staff and owner were simply wonderful and helpful especially Clinton WiFi was ify at times -
- Lidija (1/5): Bad -
- Dāniels (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colan (8/5): - The front desk are brilliant and accommodating. The walk around the area, to the north east is to be avoided but the walk to the metro takes 1 min and is completely safe. Shop right opposite, popular coffee place and bakery. But the best thing is the people staffing the place. And I think that’s the most important.
- Lisa (8/5): - The apartment is spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen. We were given 2 keys and 1 electronic card key. The 2 keys unlocks the outer door and the apartment door. But what we didn't know was we needed the electronic card key to lock our apartment door. Our electronic card key wasn't working. It took us awhile to realize we didn't actually lock the car. Once we realize the problem, we brought the keys to front desk and they addressed it quickly. The area is nosy. I'd advise wearing ear plugs at night.
The area is transitioning. While we felt safe walking around during day time, and nothing bad happened, we didn't feel comfortable exploring the area with 2 young children. We chose this hotel because it's close to a subway station, also very close to the Athens train station which we took to get to Kalambaka for a day trip.
- GD (8/5): - property was renovated and looks ok. Neighborhood, is dirty ....Liked the proximity to the metro station. This is important!
Kitchen can be better equipped and a shampoo one dose is a must!!...small things to please when you arrive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - staff are friendly and helpful. Location near to the metro station.
- Lauri (10/5): Highly recommend! - We loved the apartment. It was clean and well stocked with everything we would need for the few days we stayed in Athens. The AC was excellent (and much needed as it was blistering hot in Athens in late August), the beds were SO comfortable, and the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The neighborhood isn't ideal, mainly because there aren't any street lights and the sidewalks are pretty rough, meaning you really can't comfortably stroll through the area at night. There are plenty of mini-supermarkets in the area, a laundromat across the street, and the Metro right around the corner. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Meni apartments
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff very accommodating and friendly and close to public transportation
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was great for our family of five and we were able to walk everywhere to see the sights of Athens and also to visit Monastiraki and Plaka. It was also just a couple of minutes from the Metro station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our apartment was very clean and was perfect location> Receptionist were very friendly and lovely.
- Oriya (6/5): - They don't clean the room every day
...............
- Marie (8/5): - Very clean, two bedrooms, modern bathroom, and a kitchen with a mini fridge, stocked with dishes, glasses, pans and silverware. Housekeeping is outsourced and cleaned 3 times from Saturday to Friday. It is located in the city center and about a 30 minute walk to the Acropolis. Two mini marts are two blocks away. Also, The Bread Factory is 2 blocks away (excellent bread and pastries). The only issue we experienced was the first night we arrived. The owner said Expedia didn't charge enough and that we owed $200 for the week in addition to what we paid. We argued this and attempted to call Expedia. The owner said not to worry about it and we didn't pay anything extra.
- JUDY (10/5): Large Apartment - This 2 bedroom apt was large and close to the metro. The service at the desk was excellent.
- Launda (8/5): - Noisy outside with not so desirable folks. Apartment was super clean and spacious. Location close to Metro.
- Victoria (4/5): - This hotel is not in the best neighborhood, but its only 10-15 min walk to the touristy areas. Staff smokes in the lobby. The staff were friendly at first but then we discovered three different windows in our first floor apartment did not lock - and one bedroom window had a LADDER up to it! We had to ask them to come fix them three different times. They were not so friendly after that, but at least our windows locked. The apartment itself was fine, but construction across the street was loud all through the night and our bathroom light stopped working on day 3. They also claim to clean the room EVERY DAY and change the sheets every two... No cleaning for us on second day and when we asked, the receptionist offered no surprise or explanation. When a maid did come, she didn't even change our sheets OR TOWELS after 2 nights!! It has potential but it is not run professionally. Would not stay here again.
- Thomas (8/5): Live like a local - We were first surprised by the lack of common space for two couples in an apartment. The photos show a sofa sleeper in the living room, however we had a single chair(a pull out) a tiny table and two chairs. The kitchen was fully equipped, however we didn't do any cooking. The bedrooms were large, and both had air conditioning. One bedroom had a wardrobe with only two hangers, the other had no closet, wardrobe or drawers to unpack anything. The beds were firm, but okay. Both rooms had a flat screen TV, where we could only get one channel. That's okay - we were not there to watch TV. The local area had restaurants. We especially loved the Bread Factory, where we had breakfast every day. Right from there, we could get on the Hop On/ Hop Off Bus or catch a cab anywhere. The bread factory was a short 3 blocks away. We found that a cab ride from the hotel to the tourist areas should cost about 7 Euro - negotiate before you get into the cab! Most drivers asked for double that to begin with. We were close to the subway - but never used it since 4 of us in a cab actually cost less. There is a food market just across the street, and a drop off laundry. We were charged 10Euro for each small load, I think they overcharged us since we came in right at closing time. The check in was smooth, the staff helpful. We were given fresh towels each day. For the money, we felt happy with our choice. We wanted to feel more like we were "locals" rather than at any chain hotel anywhere.
- Hamid (10/5): Value for Money - It was amazing stay. We will return soon :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Smoking in the lobby by some of the staff, good location but not the best neighborhood
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We rented a two bedroom apartment, which works well for our family. The rooms are nice and clean and having a kitchen and living room is really convenient. The only downside is that the location is not ideal. It is in a neighborhood that looks run down and it takes about half an hour work to the city center.
- Laura (10/5): Wonderful stay!!! - Absolute amazing service we really enjoyed the owner and staff. Location right next to metro, and rooms are well kept with AC and lots of space. Will absolutly book again
- Naresh (10/5): Comfortable stay in a central location - We just left Athens after a wonderful 3 days of stay. The staff was very helpful. Due to this hotel’s central location, we could walk to the Metro, several eating places and a stop for tour busses. Especially, Mariangela was prompt in responding to the messages before our visit, and kept our luggage safe on the last day, while we went for a walk around. Julia gave us helpful suggestions on Metro routes and arranged taxis for pickup. Overall, I recommend this place for a traveler with family and will stay here again.
- Colleen (6/5): - There was a lot of poor communication. I mistakenly booked two rooms for two nights and told them on several occasions but they did nothing about it. I asked for a credit and they told me to go through you. I requested a taxi from the airport but gave them the wrong flight number. They tried to reach me but my phone was not working in the airport. I ended up taking another taxi, but they made me pay for their taxi. They offered breakfast but I had to pay for it and it had to be after 8:30. Overall bad experience with staff but comfortable rooms. I am requesting a credit for one room for 7/17. Please advise.
- Karen (10/5): Great stay all around - Meni Apartments was the perfect and most welcoming beginning to our first trip abroad (me, my 2 teenage daughters and their friend). Our experience began with the taxi ride to the hotel. The driver was the hotel owners son. The hotel clerks were very nice and accommodating. They also spoke English. The room was very tidy. We had 2 bedrooms, a small common area and a kitchen with all appliances. The hotel is very close to all conveniences.....ATM, laundry, cafes, restaurants, tavernas, Super market and mini marts. The Metro was also close, very easy to navigate and had been updated for the 2004 olympics so very modern and clean. We had a wonderful experience mixing with the locals. We will definitely stay here if we ever get the opportunity to visit Athens again. Thank you Maria Angela, Julia and others that made us feel so welcome and at ease on our first trip abroad!
- Maria (10/5): Excellent condition - Meni Apartments is well located, George was very helpful giving us information about the area. Very modern and well kept. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
- Afu (8/5): - For the price and location, this is a great apartment for visiting Athens. There's a bakery shop nearby and that was great for breakfast.
The apartment was not cleaned very well--there were hairs on the floor when we moved in. One bed was tilted toward the center and there were also some mosquitoes in the room. The bedding could be better.
Also they kept asking us about checking out and taxi reservation that were a bit annoying.
- John (10/5): Meni Apartment Hotel reveiw - We really enjoyed our stay! The location is really convenient, the apartment was very clean and accommodating and the staff was great! The elevator, transportation, and air conditioning were great benefits! I would definitely return if I am back in Athens Andre would highly recommend the apartment!
- Benny (8/5): Large suite with two bedrooms in Metaxourgeio - Meni Apartments on 8 Psaron is actually close to an entrance of Metaxourgeio Metro station which even has lifts for your luggage first to the station gates, then onto the train platform. Alas when we first arrived, it took us sometime to orientate to our surroundings, so we were a little lost. The lift was very tiny and could only take one luggage at a time. Reception was English-speaking, and helpful where they could be, although they do not operate 24h, and provide a key to the premises after midnight. Only 1 soap and shower gel were provided for 2 days, and we kept forgetting to ask for more. Rooms are not made up daily. They were helpful in extending our stay for half a day, although I had to use cash as they would charge extra for using credit card.
- Chris (10/5): Great apartment close to Metro - Very nice hotel with fabulous person at front desk (Maria Angela, we think). She was warm and welcoming and always helpful, e.g. attractions. The hotel is very handy (few minutes) to Metro station, and some great restaurants. Nice kichenette. Only one strange thing - we booked a two bedroom apartment but at one point the manager wanted one of them locked off.
- Scott (8/5): Great location in Athens that we would recommend ! - Staff is amazing!!! We really enjoyed our stay in Athens.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very frightening place. - Too many people next door. Drunk crowd one night with people pounding on our door at 1 am. Staff too scared to call the police
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very big apartment very clean with nice staff - The apartment in quit street near the metro station.
The rooms are very big with beautiful kitchen. Every thing is new in a very good condition.
The staff very nice and helpful. Nice breakfast.
- John (10/5): Excellent Stay - We stayed here for three nights, but wished we could have stayed longer. The apartment is roomy, comfortable and equipped with everything you would need. The kitchen has an electric kettle, mini fridge, cook top and microwave as well as dishes and cookware.
It is close to a movie theater and there is some noise early in the evening, but it goes away around midnight. The bathroom is excellent and the elevator is tiny, but adequate.
The apartment is within a block of the hop on hop off bus stop, metro station and a bakery. Across the street is a laundry and a supermarket is about three or four blocks away. The area is working class and we did not feel uncomfortable at all. Some of the reviews that I read said they felt uncomfortable walking at night, but we did not experience this.
The staff was wonderful and I would defiantly return and would recommend it to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spacious Apartment, coke to all amenities, - Very spacious, modern fully equiped apartment, close to train . Supermarket, gymnasium. Very clean,
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good for family vocation - Convenient and clean. Good for family vocation
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will recomend it to my friends - we stayed in this hotel twice recently. We love it.
- Eriko (10/5): Everything is right - I am always fussy about cleanliness but this hotel was just right for me. Their cleanliness made me feel so comfortable. Normally Japanese people have very high expectations about cleanliness but I can say all of Japanese tourists would be very happy with this hotel.
- Igor (10/5): Confortable and well located - Meni Apartments is well located in Athens, one block away from Karaizaski square(Metalxorghio Metro Station). There are several restaurants and mini markets around, as well as one 24 hour bakery. The apartment was renewed, being clean and confortable. The staff was very polite and helpfull.
- Allan (10/5): Comfortable apartment in great location - Spent 4 nights here in late December - a great time of year to go, not too crowded, not hot ,not cold. Were able to get about the city very easily as the Metro is so close. Our (2-bedroom) apartment was very comfortable, though the hallway - just inside the front door - is effectively the lounge. The elevator is quirky and shiny and tiny (about the size of a shower cubicle) but worked perfectly. Would happily return there
- Traveling Texan (10/5): Neighborhood apartment near public transportation - The booking and payment experience were efficient - no surprises. The description and pictures are accurate. The ability to communicate with the hotel directly through the app was helpful regarding laundry options.
The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful with information, providing, directions to the Metro (one block away - Metaxourgeio Station, Red Line Number 2), the grocery store, (MyMarket is about 3 blocks away many MiniMarkets also), the laundry (across the street), the fresh bread stores (there are several), the local street market, etc. Neighborhood was welcoming.
WiFi was strong and reliable. The elevator, while on the smallish side - did work efficiently,. Balcony welcome.
The staff honored our request for a "green" experience - minimizing linen changes, Clean lobby and rooms.
From this location - after obtaining multi-day transportation passes, we were able to explore Athens on our own - going to the Acropolis and Museum, the Zoo, the coastline, etc. We rode the Metro, the buses, and the trams. The staff at the hotel added additional details as needed.
We had the smaller 2 bedroom apartment and used the "living room" as our dining room. The kitchen was adequately supplied (no oven), enabling us to cook our own meals or heat the take-out. Bathroom was clean, fully functioning with plenty of hot water.
Negative was the tobacco smoke coming up through the shaft in the bathroom. Closing the balcony door minimized street noise.
- Clark (8/5): Quality apt close to everything - Very nice apt close to the best sites in Athens. Was not informed about the deposit they charged which is still pending - it through off my finances.
- s (8/5): clean and nice place to stay.. - especially staff are so kind and good ..if you would like to stay short period it can be good chose to stay there.
- jamison (10/5): A great place to stay in Athens - Great place to stay. Excellent service. Comfortable and clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I have comfort a 3 as the mattress of the double bed needed to be replaced, but the other rooms were fine. Otherwise was a nice place close to the metro with easy access to all the sites. Staff was very helpful.
- Melanie (8/5): Wonderful staff - Staff was wonderful. Rooms were clean and efficient. I especially enjoyed the kitchen and mini fridge. The bathroom was small, but nothing out of the ordinary. I wish there was more bedding, but the beds were more comfortable than they initially looked. Great for friend groups or families, and take advantage of the very helpful reception desk. They are like concierge service at an otherwise basic facility.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - generally good experience. close to metro station. there is a mini market in the opposite
- DR FADI CHARLES (10/5): - The staff was very helpful. We had a great apartment. The location was very central close to the acropolis
- MIodrag (6/5): DIFFERENT RATE WHEN WE ARRIVED - We are a couple with 3 kids, ages 12,12 and 13 who stayed 3 nights. When we booked our apartment it stated that accommodates 5 so we booked it but forgot to put 5 persons in the reservation. When we arrived at tge hotel we were charged extra 204 Euros for not putting in 5 persons in the reservation. It is good to know that the exact same apartment differs greatly in price if you forget to put the accurate amount of people staying - even if the apartment is advertised that it accommodatea 5 persons. Apparently you are not renting the entirw apartment for the advertised accommodations and price - you are renting the apartment at a specific rate PER PERSON!
