• MKJourneys (10/5): 5 Star Experience - A four day experience that was amazing!!! I had reached out to the GM for assistance on room location and a special occasion celebration, however they were out of town. The GM that was covering temporarily was from out of state and a different hotel. After the experience we had you would have thought this was HIS property. Benjamin Cann went above and beyond in all aspects in assisting me. Numerous detailed emails and follow ups to ensure our experience was spectacular. Upgraded to top floor room with a fantastic view of Mt Hood and such great surprise with my wife’s favorite bottle of Oregon wine from the Willamette Valley on ice waiting for us when we arrived! He even went out on his own to find this particular bottle of wine. All I can say is wow!
• Jonathan (6/5): Could be better! - The location is very good, close to the shopping district. The hotel has a modern feel We have stayed here 4 times before. The vast majority of the rooms are large and spacious. This time we were allocated a room next to the elevator on the top floor which is very small and not suitable for two people sharing. The washbasin is in the centre of the bedroom because of space constraints, the bathroom wall and door is glass which makes it impossible to turn on the light at night without illuminating the whole bedroom and waking the other person, the glass wall affords no privacy in the bathroom. At breakfast the cooked option was no longer available. We asked the disinterested helper why, and she replied "we have stopped offering it because the toaster is broken". I did ask her how difficult was it to buy a toaster these days to which she shrugged. The remainder of the breakfast was uninspiring, like the server.

• Jose (6/5): There are better places with comparable pricing - I enjoyed the bed The view of the room was awful. There was a loud buzzing sound all night. The staff wasn’t very friendly at all. The sofa bed didn’t have blankets in the room I had to wait til I was ready to lay down in bed and discover this and then had to call down and wait another 20 minutes for it to be delivered. Valet parking didn’t answer several times. Also there are no prices on any items in the lobby. I paid $11 for a coke and Gatorade and $5 for a TINY bag of chips.

• N7093FBfredw (2/5): Horrible Experience/Stay - We were in town for a basketball tournament. The management team was dealing with issues from certain teams being disruptive. Instead of trying to deal with the issue, the management team lumped the teams from the tournament into one group with teams coming from all over the country. During the evening of the incident, our team was having a team dinner outside of the hotel. Instead of dealing with our team with professionalism, the night management team address the parents of our team with passive aggressive behavior. We felt the night management team was being lazy. Even though the morning management team was professional, cordial, respectful, and responsive, the overall experience is not what we usually associate with the Marriot brand. We definitely will not be staying at this hotel again, especially when there are so many other options in downtown Portland.

• William (8/5): I will more than likely stay elsewhere due to judgmental staff members - I love the very first room that I stayed in however the last two times I booked there I was put in a room directly across from the elevator which is my least favorite room. I dated one night and then ended up booking another night the next day because a lady friend wanted my company and the same staff member seemed kinda j judgmental. I get that a lot because I dress a certain way because I don’t want people to know that I have money. I often get judged as homeless which I am not. I have stayed at the courtyard downtown and it never matters who I bring to my room or how I dress I applaud get the same treatment which is the way it is supposed to be. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Especially not me.

This property truly understands hospitality, and it shows in every department. A special thank you to General Manager Katie Ortiz for leading such an exceptional team. The level of care, professionalism, and warmth throughout the hotel was impressive and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The front desk team was friendly, efficient, and full of great recommendations for things to do and places to eat around Portland. Housekeeping staff we interacted with on the floors were kind, attentive, and clearly take pride in their work. The bartenders were knowledgeable, engaging, and created a great atmosphere, and the valet team was prompt, courteous, and made arrivals and departures seamless. It’s rare to experience such consistent excellence across every touchpoint, but AC Hotel Portland delivered exactly that. The hospitality felt sincere, thoughtful, and above and beyond expectations. We had an amazing stay and will absolutely be back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portland!

The front desk people are incredible. the location was perfect! I do like modern stuff, but... there is a line. the toilet was rectangle shaped and I felt like was straddling two logs in order to do my business. The beds were a bit too firm for me.
• 2avoidthesnow (10/5): Great location & Lost item returned - We were actually bumped to this hotel from the radison across the street. That always makes one nervous, but rolled with it. BIG THING - We left a tablet behind, called and left a message and thought it was lost for good, but then received a call from the Housekeeping staff that they had it and it has been returned to us! Of course this makes this hotel high on our list for their honesty and willingness to follow up until it was resolved. Breakfast was good, and staff was attentive. Rooms are clean and comfortable. When we checked out, we were charged for breakfast, when I reminded them that we were moved from the hotel and were promised breakfast was included it was immediately taken off with apologies. TIP: If you are flying in and renting a car...stay here use their pick up service from and to the airport - to pick up a rental. We did this and avoided paying the expensive parking. Much to see and do is within walking distance and for the parking savings you can easily uber. Would definitely recommend and return when in the area.

There are plenty of shopping nearby if you need to get it our of your system. During our visit (August) there were plenty of street parking and didn't even need to use valet. I would stay here again.

• Ashna (2/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and three days during my trip to Portland, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Here are the major issues I faced during my stay: Poor Housekeeping: The room was not cleaned even once during the stay, despite daily housekeeping being a standard expectation at any hotel. No Room Service or In-Room Communication: There was no room service available, and we were unable to call the front desk from our room. For any assistance, we had to physically go down to the lobby, which was extremely inconvenient. Mishandled Food Delivery: Before ordering food via Uber Eats, I called the front desk to confirm the process. Alan from the reception assured me I could have food delivered and pick it up from the lobby. However, when we arrived, the food was missing. We have photo evidence showing the delivery was made in the lobby. The hotel staff denied receiving it and refused to take any responsibility. We suggested checking security footage to trace what happened to the order, but this was dismissed. Key Card Issues: Our room key stopped working both days. We had to return to the front desk multiple times to get it reissued, which was frustrating and unnecessary after long travel days. The lack of cleanliness, poor communication, mishandled food delivery, and unprofessional behavior from the staff made the experience thoroughly disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel and hope management addressesthis

The property itself was exceptional in terms of cleanliness – the rooms and common areas were spotless, modern, and well-maintained, which made the stay very comfortable. However, the parking experience was extremely disappointing. I paid $50 for parking, but after checking out, it took nearly 30 minutes just to get my car back. For such a premium rate, I expected a much smoother and quicker process.
