Every interaction felt genuine, warm, and thoughtful—not just professional, but sincerely welcoming. It’s rare to encounter a team so consistently attentive and kind, and they made what could have been a routine stay feel genuinely special. The front desk staff greeted me with enthusiasm and efficiency, making check-in seamless while also taking the time to offer personalized recommendations. Throughout my stay, every team member I encountered went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, often anticipating needs before I even had to ask. One of the most fun and memorable touches was the hotel’s delivery robot. Having items brought right to my room by a friendly little robot was such a unique experience—it was efficient, surprisingly quick, and honestly just put a smile on my face every time. It added a modern, playful twist to the stay that made the whole experience even more special. Our toddler thought it was the coolest thing.

Our check-in clerk was Gaby, who gave us the best check-in service we've ever had at any Marriott we've stayed in (many of them). She is a credit to the company. Our room was nicer than I expected sometimes pictures don’t always match the room when you get there but it was very clean and nice. The ac worked very well it was sometimes to cold so we had to turn it up which isn’t a bad thing at all better than being hot. The only thing I didn’t like was our room was right next to the highway so we had a little traffic noise but it wasn’t intolerable.

We liked the leisurely feel of the property. We liked that it was within walking distance of some restaurants. We were a little surprised that we were not thanked for being gold elite members. Usually we get some kind of a token gift. We had to ask for that and we’re told that usually they don’t give it to members of our status. Every other place we’ve been to, however, did thank us and gave us some kind of a little thing. Other than that, the staff was kind and welcoming.
- Robert (10/5): - Honestly, it was very good in my opinion, had a decent gym and jacuzzi, plus hot breakfast. Rooms were ver clean and the beds were comfortable, which surprised me. Also, this hotel is up to date with the look and decor, very modern and most everything looks very new still. Could use a few more options at breakfast. But honestly not much of anything to complain about.

It was an easy in and out location, great proximity to food & freeway access. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a good addition. We will stay here again next year.

- JHanlen (8/5): - Great location, good sized room and spacious bathroom. Staff were always smiling and willing to please Room 139s air conditioner seems to be malfunctioning. It only cools, and the ground positioning of the blower was a continuous annoyance. Small issue, but it affected our week long stay.

- Stephen (3/5): I won't be staying at this one again - It had breakfast and was close in relation to where I needed to be the next day, thats all. I fly to Southern California multiple times a year and always stay at a Fairfield by Marriott. This time I only stayed for 1 night, on the 2nd floor, and there was a gathering area right outside of my room on the first floor. I needed to get some rest after a long trip from the east coast, and my wife and I are winding down for the day, it was a Thursday night. Around 7pm, out of nowhere we heard the loudest most obnoxious yelling and laughing coming from outside our window. We thought it was just something random that would stop, then people would drive by and the yelling and screaming persisted. I recorded a video of just how loud it was, some kind of party that was going on, so I waited a little longer, hoping that it would cease and it did not. The yelling and hooting and hollering persisted, so I went down and asked the staff how long this was going to be going on. She proceeded to tell me that quiet hours start at 11pm, I replied, then you need to move me to the other side of this hotel. The noise eventually quieted down, but for a hotel to allow that to go on without handling it themselves prior to having guest need to come ask if they can move their room because the noise is unbearable, is unacceptable. I won't be staying at this one again

- SHERYL (9/5): It was a short stay but very comfortable. - I really liked the sausage links. The scrambled eggs were bland but red salsa helped a lot. Also enjoyed the bold coffee I arrived after dark and I had trouble finding any signage to identify the hotel. It was difficult to know if I was in the right place

This time the beds were rock hard and the shower pressure was painstakingly low. This was the first time we stayed on first floor. Don't know if that made the difference.

- Companion61618387055 (2/5): WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE - On November 30, 2025, at around 7:45 PM, I called Jackie, who was acting as the receptionist at that time. I requested a mobile key via my cell phone, as I had already waited 40 minutes to avoid carrying my physical credit card due to having lost my wallet. Although I still had my passport to verify my identity and had already settled the room charges using my credit card linked to my Marriott Bonvoy account, I expected to proceed directly to my room upon request, given my previous experience with mobile keys. However, despite waiting for 40 minutes, I still had not received access to the mobile key app. When I called the receptionist again, Jackie insisted that she would not send me the mobile key until I checked in with her at the front desk. I questioned her reasoning, asking why I needed to check in if I was requesting a mobile key. She responded that it was necessary to issue a parking pass. I then asked her what would happen if I didn’t need a parking pass, suggesting that I had been dropped off by Uber or Lyft; Jackie maintained that I needed to check in with her regardless. I further inquired why the hotel offered a mobile app on their website if I was being denied access to the mobile key check-in option. Jackie implied that mobile key check-ins were not honored until I checked in with her, which I found to be inaccurate. The hotel’s website does not state that checking in with the receptionist is a requirement to obtain a mobile key. The whole purpose of the mobile key app is to allow customers to bypass interactions with receptionists like Jackie. It seemed that she was creating her own rules in this regard. It is unprofessional for Marriott to promote mobile check-in via its app—screenshots attached—yet have employees like Jackie deny this service at their discretion. If there were an option to rate this experience zero stars, I would have chosen it. This was my first instance of dissatisfaction at this location, despite numerous prior visits for work purposes. I intend to file a formal complaint, as I believe that if a Marriott hotel does not support mobile key check-in, this should be clearly indicated on their website. I expect a full refund of my points and the deposit I made, as Jackie refused to honor their own mobile key app service. Oh she even made a comment saying it didn't matter if I was a Platinum member and that she was sorry if I felt some type of way. I wasn't rude or disrespectful, I was simply going by what services you offer on your Marriott website. I'm not sure why she was so defensive the whole time. I respectfully walked out and asked her to refund me my points. I ended up going to Hilton down the street by Palomar Airport and was able to check in freely on my via Mobile App:) Kevin Cervantes

Lady friend felt like sheets were not fresh, opted to say nothing. That morning found a foreign sock in between sheets. Needless to say, ruined our 2 day stay. Hotel offered nothing, other than a change of sheets. Duh!

Highly recommend if you need accommodations in the heart of San Marcos.
- Cristian (10/5): Gran ayuda del personal del hotel - Tuvimos un tema en la llegada, ya que llegamos muy tarde cerca de las cinco de la mañana, y a pesar de qué había notificado que íbamos a hacer un Late Arrival, la reservación ya estaba cancelada por sistema, pero el chico que estaba en ese momento en el Front Desk, hizo lo posible y y lo imposible por darnos la habitación, cuestión que estamos sumamente agradecidos por su gestión en favor de nuestro Familia. Me reconocimiento a su apoyo y la forma de resolver una situación para el cliente. Debería de ser manager. Entiendo el tema de que un sistema cancela una reservación por concepto, no show a cierto horario, pero deberían de abrirlo un poco más cuando se reporta que va a ser un Really Late Arrival, para evitar algún inconveniente, como nos sucedió.

- davidpU2675XU (10/5): Best service ever. - Called for several rooms and talked to a polite fellow named Luis on the phone. He made sure my reservation was exactly as I requested. I arrived at the property 2 days later. I walked up to the desk and said hello. The fellow behind the counter responded “ hello David, I’m pulling up your reservation now. It turns out it was Luis whom I had talked to on the phone. He recognized my voice and pulled up my reservation and made numerous adjustments to it to conform to requests I made on the phone. Polite, on point and he took great pride in ensuring I got what I asked for the first time. I have to say that my experience with him was by far the most thorough, personal and professional I have experienced on 3 continents. The property was very nice and the breakfast was fine. If you stay here check in with Luis if you can. It will make your day!
