Guest Reviews
- Valentina (10/5): - Loved my staying at the hotel! A big shout out to Fabi and Lucio who looked after me during my 4 days there đ
- Sergio Felix Molina (8/5): - La pileta deberĂa funcionar y las macetas deberĂan tener bonitas plantas y flores ! Eso le falta a El Truco
- Ronald (4/5): Luxury boutique? - Trying to figure out why my review is so different than everyone elseâs! We stayed in room 104 maybe we got the bad room in the hotel.
My girlfriend and I are modest hotel stayers certainly not bougie type we donât mind humble places. But this hotel is advertised as higher end which is definitely was not. The bathroom was very dated and poorly designed. Our toilet broke (would not flush) during our stay and there is no maintenance staff to repair it. The front desk employee tried to fix it but was unsuccessful so I had to fix it (somewhat) myself. The angle of the sink made it nearly impossible to wash your hands. Also the wall mounted hotel style hair dryer didnât work. We asked for a substitute which they didnât have. Finally, the included breakfast was very weak and the waiter was rude. All of these are would be normal minor issues during a hotel stay but added together along with the lack of attention by the staff encouraged us to end our stay early! We were very happy with the hotel we moved to (Tierra Viva). A much better hotel at a fraction of the price!!
- Kimberly (8/5): Adequate Stay - Overall stay was adequate. Room wasnât ready upon arrival. Needed to request heater as room did not have one. Looked like other rooms had. Also, shower water could have been warmer. On up side, breakfast was good (included). Staff was overall friendly.
- Roque (4/5): Bad maintenance, not for resting - hotel is well located, 3 min walk and you are in the main plaza which is full of restaurants and shops, also the ending point of many tours.
The personal was extremely friendly and really tried to make our stay pleasant, however, the first room we got was in the first level and since itâs a wooden floor we heard each pace and all the wood sounds from the upper floor, the bathroom had moho and the room humidity.
The second room we got, we requested a room change, the shower drain was clogged and the third room we got had a skylight, which lights the room early in the morning without an option to close it.
Other issues such as the possibility to being able to see from one room to parts of another without the possibility of obstructing the view also existed in some rooms
The hotel has a restaurant.
In general, we appreciate the personal attention we had, but the hotel in not for us, wonât come back
- Maryam (6/5): - The location was amazing. The hotel was acceptable for the price, just Ok. We arrived four hrs prior to the check in at 1pm, we waited till 1:15 and received a semi cleaned room, bed sheets were changed and proper, bathroom was partially cleaned, the cup was unwashed, the shampoo and conditioner were empty, even when we asked for refill, they remained empty. The faucet was broken and taped, The staff were friendly but not able to speak English, the courtyard is nice, fresh flowers were displayed.
- Nanju (8/5): Great and friendly staff but choose the top floor - A good hotel, staff was great and friendly. However, we were on the ground floor but heard the squeaky noise from above which disrupted our sleep.
- Colleen (10/5): I will stay here again and again! - Loved this hotel. Luce was fantastic and made us feel at home and was there whenever we needed her. The location is a dream and walkable to just about anywhere. The courtyard was a nice place to hang out to have coffee in the morning before we got our day started. Everyone was so friendly and we always got a "buenos dias" from staff as well as fellow travelers. I highly recommend El Truco!
- Ana (4/5): Dont stay here, way too noisy - Very noisy place! This hotel has 2 restaurants. One in front and one within the square of the rooms. From hearing the customers to the foot traffic of the employees the noise is Never-ending. Im talking until like 3am.
The bed in the room had a big dip in it so, it was uncomfortable. Each toss felt like i was going to roll off. The hot water takes a long time to turn on and is not accessible daily.
The office staff is a couple. The man is akward and tries to know your fulll iternary. He wanted to know my exact hours etc. No thanks. Our flight was changed on our last day. I asked to keep our luggage there for the 7 hour difference by booking an additional night. The woman didnt think i could hear the phone conversation and she began to hike up the price seeing that "we could afford it". I planned on giving her a tip regardless, but not then. When i saud no abd questioned the price she called our room over and over again.
- Paul (8/5): Great location but the room was basic. Good value - This hotel is located very close to the main plaza, and is on another smaller plaza with a fountain. The hotel is nice with friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. For the money it is exvellent, especially if you are only going to sleep in the room. My room was very clean too. The only reason it didn't get a 10 is that the sheets are thin, the pillows are small and soft and the room was dark and unpleasant to be in. But for the money, it is very good.
- Laura (10/5): - This was such a great find. I paid half compared to the Ramada up the street and it was better. The rooms were clean. The restaurant connected with the hotel has live music and dancing in the evening. Even the breakfast was better. It is in a great location by the plaza and easy pick up for rainbow mountain. Highly recommend!
- Julie (10/5): Perfect location - Perfect location. Great room and great service!
- 84annam (4/5): Badly maintained rooms with kitchen smell - The hotel is very well located. Though unfortunately quite noisy, room was badly maintained (though bed was big and comfy) ans we had kitchen smell from restaurant underneath all day and night.
Got to say the staff was very friendly and helpful arranging covid test, finding a good parking lot etc..
- Ryan (10/5): - Great place to stay! Very helpful and friendly!
- HarriCanada (8/5): Very central ... - We stayed about 5 days in El Truco. This hotel is very close to the main Plaza as well as to shops and restaurants. Check in is easy, our room was nicely decorated and breakfast is very divers. We liked our stay there.
- David (10/5): - Beautiful small hotel, the restaurant lovely and great food. The service was awesome, friendly and helpful.
Excelente location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super friendly staff. Great area! Everything was great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous decor, clean and perfect location to everything near square.
- Alexandra (6/5): - there was no shampoo on the shower and bad communication among the receptionists
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It's near the main square and yet it's quiet. There is no noisy music near by at night. The staffs are very friendly. I had a 4AM tour pickup, and they prepared a sandwich breakfast for me. They allowed me to store luggage there for two days after I checked out. The attached restaurant is amazing, you've got to experience it.
- Nicole Yann Tsiang (10/5): fantastic! - Amazing service and beautiful room! Strategically located too! Would recommend .
- Nato (6/5): - I'd say the worse is the bathroom with no exhaust vent or window. If you do #2 you will have the smell for a while... and everywhere. Not cool. You know the typical cheap hotels from Cusco, if you open the bathroom door too much, it will lock and you need to go to the front desk to ask to open. It was not super clean and the bottom of the tub is shaped to sit inside but it is hard to stand on it. The room's windows towards the patio can be noisy if you want to rest a little more. No amenities at all. Well, I guess you get what you pay for... Oh, the location is really good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place was unique and eventually grew on me. No hot water really, and the faux Renaissance design was interesting to say the least. It hosted Chicha, a restaurant by Gaston Acurio. Hot coca tea was always available. I sat on the corner of my bed and it fell off the frame, but otherwise it was comfortable and the staff fixed it immediately. They held our luggage for us while we were in Machu Picchu. Great location. Was it worth the price? I'd have to compare. In the long run, we liked it. Peru lacks infrastructure overall do we had to lower our expectations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service. Pretty close to Plaza de Armas.
- danik967 (4/5): Extremely loud! - If you are a light sleeper this is not a good option. Every noise is exaggerated in this hotel. Be ready for noises at 5 am that seem to be in your hotel room. All conversations echo as well as cars, fireworks, etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Water pressure is amazingly useless.... no water and no amandities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place was in a fantastic location with excellent large rooms
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Located right in downtown center. Quaint location with large rooms in a very wonderful old building.
- Joanne (10/5): - Amazing service, they let us check in early which was so amazing because we were exhausted, such amazing rooms with great touches, let us check in our bags with them before our trek, and so comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we loved the location , the room is very comfortable , the only con is the noise at night, you hear everything! and also the floor as you walk it makes a noise that can be disruptive , other than that great hotel
- Peter (6/5): Below average accommodations - Old hotel with aging fixtures and accommodations. Portable heaters required and used in cooler days. Showers need some attention.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff are very friendly and willing to help. However the hotel is quite dated and needs a renovation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint small hotel with eager to serve attitude. Very comfortable stay over 5 nights
- meredithc153 (8/5): Touch of wimsy - This hotel sits across from a park and a 5 minute walk to the Plaza where restaurants and shops are plenty. Generally we found many of the tours dropped everyone off at the Plaza which was ideal when staying here. The rooms have painted murals on the walls, ours was an angel which gave it a touch of whimsy. The restaurant used for breakfast was also decorated in this theme, reminded me of an old church. The only downfall , where the sneaky wooden floorboards when you had a room up on the second floor. Rosa on reception was a delight and very helpful.
- Bertha (10/5): - The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was excellent. The hotel was clean, spacious and quaint. Hotel offers complimentary breakfast. I recommend this place.
- DorothyMacaw (8/5): Yeah, what he said. It's noisy and it's convenient - Inka Wasi hotel is located perfectly for a tourist in Cusco. Right on a beautiful square, surrounded by restaurants and tourist shopping. Two blocks away from the main square with Cathedrals, churches, restaurants and lots of random people trying to sell you paintings and trinkets. As an added bonus, it it reasonably flat to get to these places. At 11,000 feet elevation the first few days in Cusco make you aware of every foot of that.
The hotel is a flight and a half up from street level, to a beautiful courtyard, surrounded by the guest rooms. The rooms are all a little different from each other. The rooms are comfortably large. The beds are suitably soft. Not too hard and not to soft. Breakfast is included. The bathroom had the big three. Sink, toilet and tub/shower. The tub/shower is raised from the floor level to allow the plumbing to work. This means that there is a step down when exiting a wet shower onto a slick tiled floor with wet feet and no grab bar in sight. Let me say I was very, very careful after a shower. How water was plentiful.
There is nothing to recommend against staying here. The rooms are good, the location is ideal and the price per night is very fair.- BUT â it is noisy. The courtyard is an echo chamber. The other guests some try to close a door quietly, some think they need to slam their door. Any conversation at normal levels is very clear, and when they are yelling at their partner to remember to âŠ. it is like they are in the room with you. If you are a light sleeper this might not be your hotel.
Breakfast seemed a bit anemic, a couple pieces of fruit, some bread and three kinds of juices. I don't know if I was late or maybe I was missing something.
Regardless of it's drawbacks, I stayed here for several nights on two occasions and would be happy to stay here the next time I am in Cusco
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is lovely but very, very noisey. The floors are squeaky (extremely) and the dinners can be heard for hours
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Geat location, friendly helpful staff, great breakfast. The only down is the noise, until late and starts early. I would stay again though.
- JC (8/5): - Amazing location indeed. Highly recommended for one night, but the fact that there is a famous restaurant in the same building makes it noisy and avoid any room near the laundry room and kitchen. Otherwise, the staff is great and helpful and always ready to make your stay better.
- MonteBurns (8/5): Stayed here for a week - The hotel is in a great location for Cusco. Only a few minutes walk around the city center. I asked them to have me picked up at the airport and when I landed my name was on a board and the nice lady got me into a taxi. Cost 20 Soles to the hotel.
My room was pretty nice. Mostly comfy bed. Fridge and safe in the room. Plenty of hot water. Little table and chairs on the second floor of the loft. Tv had no English channels and only a few Spanish channels. Wifi worked well.
Room was serviced daily and they did a good job.
Staff is very friendly. Small breakfast from 6-9 but really not worth getting out of bed for. They did provide me with a sack lunch when I went to Machu Piku.
Nice sitting area on the ground floor.
The bad. The hotel is very noisy because you can hear everything going on outside the room. Staff makes noise. Guests make noise. Delivery people make noise. Phones at the front desk make noise. You hear it all. All night. At half past midnight it got so noisy woke me up. Every day. They donât control the noise either. I was sleeping one night about 11pm and it sounded like a stampede. Thereâs a restaurant on the second floor and about ten guests came out all talking at once. The noise detracts from the quality of my stay. Plus just people walking on the second floor at night sounds like a military parade as itâs wooden plank floors.
I wonât stay here again in the future solely because of the extreme noise factor.
Thereâs also some restaurants in the hotel but except for the breakfast I didnât use them.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - George/Jorge greeted us and looked after us throughout our stay. Spoke excellent English if you're Spanish isn't up to scratch. Overall really lovely and friendly staff. Even the manager said hi! The one thing I would say is whilst our corner ground floor room had plenty of natural light, we didn't have a window for airflow, which would have allowed us a better night's sleep - so I'd just specify that on your booking if you need that too!
- danielle (8/5): Great location - Great location but some construction near by was loud.
- Christopher (10/5): - The service team was amazing and made our stay much better. The property needs an updating, but is nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to shops and restaurants. Very near Inca trails hiking return drop off location. Jorge who was taking care of front desk was awesome. He took care of preparing 4am breakfast bag and converting $s.
- Rat (10/5): - The hotel is in a great spot just steps away from the Plaza De Armas and the staff are wonderful especially George who was very helpful with any request I had.
- Peter (10/5): Good value for money - Great location and friendly staff
- Konstantin (10/5): - Excellent location, best restaurant and very nice people. I was several times in Cuzco and this was the best choice.
- Kathleen (8/5): - The hotel was centrally located. The breakfast was good and so was the WiFi.The staff was very helpful and very accommodating! The only issue with hotel is that itâs not quiet. You can hear everything! We stayed in two different rooms/ floors and it was the same situation.
- Kathleen (8/5): - We enjoyed our one night stay. We were met at the train station and escorted to hotel. Wifi and breakfast was included. Stored our bags while we toured Machu Picchu. Helped us when we needed directions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice hotel - amazing help from the hotel staff.
free luggage storage during the 2days trip in Machu Picchu
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was nice except they started doing construction with drills and power saws at 6:15am on Saturday morning. The walls are quite thin so it was incredibly loud.
- SiriusSkier23 (10/5): Perfect location - I loved this friendly hotel. George and Rosita are wonderful and helpful. Exceptional breakfast. Very near the plaza center. Located in the same building as the Chicha restaurant by Gaston Acurio. A snooty and lousy restaurant. Ate there last year and it was a joke.
- Samira (10/5): - Everything was great about this place. It only was hard to find it. Since the name shown outside is for the restaurant and you need to ask them about the hotel, then they guide you in.
- Tammy (8/5): - Close to main squares and good location to get around. Extremely friendly staff. Room was comfortable and hotel itself cute to look at. But, cold water for morning shower, warm was off and on. Very noisy when others outside in corridors or in their rooms. My husband didnât like the skylights with the room being bright at 5am. Haha!
- Luis (10/5): One night at Cusco - The hotel was great, the service even greater; I would stay there again solely on the service of the staff. It was clean, comfortable, and at a great location.
- Gary (10/5): would return - lovely boutique hotel bang in the centre of cuzco
friendly & extremely helpful staff
decent wifi too
- David (10/5): - Friendly staff great location would stay again
- Julien (8/5): Nice hotel - Great location
- Explorecreate (10/5): Great location and service, nice rooms - I was very pleased with my stay at the Inka Wasi Boutique Hotel in the Plaza Regocijo. The location was perfect - we were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go (San Blas is all uphill, so you may need a cab if you are elderly, injured, or deconditioned - but we had no trouble walking there).
The service was fantastic, and the rooms were clean and attractive. We were on the second floor. There are two restaurants, the beautiful downstairs Inka Wasi Ex Trucco restaurant - where you can get a free continental breakfast plus some cooked eggs if you ask - and the upstairs trendy gastropub Chicha. There are also a ton of restaurants of all types within an easy walking distance, and most are pretty good.
I did not have problems with noise, water pressure or water temperature most of the time. They were happy to keep our luggage for us while we were on the Inca Trail. I would certainly recommend them.
For an additional price, they will arrange transportation to and from the airport for you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and staff are super nice. Hot water in shower is not stable but not a big problem.
- WaywardBrewer (10/5): Good value, super location and great staff - I agree with the other reviewers in terms of the hotel and amenities. Noisy at night (upper level rooms less so) but the staff make up for it. They were very friendly and helpful and stored our excess bags while we did a 2 day trip to Machu Picchu (warning: the train to Agua Calliente only allows one small backpack per person - yes really - so pack carefully!)
The restaurant downstairs has excellent breakfast included and lovely decor. There is free coca tea in the courtyard which definitely helps acclimatise to the altitude.
Rooms are clean and a good size but are more like a 3* hotel - fine for the price just donât expect luxury.
There is a good craft beer (Barranco beer co) bar just turn right and walk 70m from the hotel. If youâre into craft beer like me youâll appreciate a well make beer which is definitely the exception not the rule for craft beer in Peru.
There are lots of laundry options within a 5 min walk - s/5 per kg for a 2hr service which was great after sweating our proverbial off in Machu Picchu.
The main square is where to go for a massage. We paid s/50 for 1 hr for an average massage. They will try to up sell you to a higher priced massage so reconfirm price before they start.
- lennondave (10/5): Awesome boutique hotel with museum restaurant Ex Trucco - First off this hotel is located in Plaza Regocijo, and ask to be dropped off at the Ex Trucco restaurant which is part of the hotel. None of the taxi drivers know 'Inka Wasi' and we spent abut 30 mins in the cold morning dragging our suitcases around to find the hotel. Although that was a rough start, we loved all the 5 nights we spent here. The front desk staff speaks excellent English, and like most people in Peru are warm, humble and friendly. The room had an excellent heater for the freezing nights in Cusco, and the incredible breakfast was served in a museum restaurant of Ex Trucco. This small boutique hotel was friendly and excellent for our short stay in Cusco, which is a beautiful city with amazing and friendly people. Excellent value for money!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful and accommodating staff. They packed our breakfast since we have to leave to catch the train early morning going to Machu Picchu.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic location with a great staff. The hotel is right in the middle of everything with one of the best restaurants in Cusco on the premises. Great value if you are looking for a clean simple room in a good area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is in an old colonial building with a central courtyard surrounded by rooms. They have 24-hour coca tea for altitude acclimatization. The best part about the hotel was the staff - they took great care of us - storing our luggage while we were on the Inca trail trek and having it waiting in our room when we returned; arranging for hotels; preparing coffee and eggs to order at breakfast; cheap laundry service, and other ways to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel is centrally located on a fairly major square with lots of activity. Close to restaurants and activities in the heart of town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great staff, clean property, great location. Only observation is the noice level. There is a lot of activity around the courtyard of the property that carries into the rooms.
- Jegg (6/5): - Great staff but this place is extremely loud. The courtyard carries sound and it is frankly intrusive.
The hotel is clean and again friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel. Highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - When they learned we had to leave earlier than we thought for a tour in the morning and miss breakfast, they packed one for us.
- Titus (8/5): A great value for the money. Perfect location. - The stay was good overall.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even prepared a packed breakfast at 4:30 AM so we could eat on the train to Machu Picchu.
The breakfast buffet offer was also good.
The room was clean and simple with a relatively big bathroom.
The only downside was that in the last evening something happened with the electricity that caused the lights to flicker, the AC plugs did not work anymore and it was pretty frustrating.
- Thomas (8/5): Highly recommend - Great location near the main square, staff are very helpful and rooms are good size. Not high class decor but great room and service for the price. Attached restaurant is very good and you get 20% off if you stay at the hotel.
- amy (10/5): - Excellent service, George helped us out with anything we needed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location. Great staff.
But our room had toilet leak, faucet leak, hot water took 10 minutes
- Stephen (8/5): - Loved the hotel. Nice rooms, good to have a bit of luxury. Plus points - good breakfast, big rooms, comfy beds, pretty courtyard, lots of hot water, great location (central but not noisy). Even gave us a complimentary picnic when we left early for a trek. Minus points - rooms not cleaned/made up for first two days, had to ask for this to be done. And, it looks like the rooms have baths but they don't really as the plugs don't work (plug in one room didn't work, in the other was missing entirely).
NB bit of an identity crisis for this hotel - don't tell taxi drivers you are staying at Inca Wasi Boutique, or even El Truco - tell them you're at El Chicha restaurant and you'll have a chance of them finding it (addresses don't help, they don't seem to mean a lot to local taxi drivers).
- Yumi (8/5): - Great location and very friendly staff! They packed our breakfast for us when we had to leave around 4am for MP and also stored our laggage for 3 days!
- Lilly (10/5): - This hotel was in a great location with a very comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and our luggage was stored while we went to Machu Picchu. Restaurants, the Plaza, San Pedro Mercado, and more are all within walking distance. We also stayed in the San Blas area for a couple of nights and preferred this location since it was closer to many things with less stairs and climbing to get to different places which is tough after getting back from day tours and hiking in the Andes.
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent - The location of this hotel is fantastic. It was very walkable. The brekfast was great. The staff made our stay fantastic. There was never a question unanswered or a problem they could not solve!
- J-C-Ari (8/5): Good value for money - I liked the location, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, lovely house with patio, accessible to different restaurants, museums, parks, market.
I wouldnât put it under âboutique hotelâ category, for example the toiletries are what you will find a 2-3 star hotel, but the service is ok for the price. I found it a bit noisy because the lobby is open and you can hear costumers coming and going, suitcases rolling, staff talking. But it is ok given the price for one or two nights.
We found a bit weird the checkout time : 9 am too early if you are not leaving the hotel before 8 am. They let us stay with no charge until 11 am.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful stay at this boutique. Rooms were nice sized, clean and comfortable. The staff here was wonderful. They went out of their ways to make us comfortable and help us out, ex: helping contact our tour guides, always asking if we needed anything, etc. The location was perfect as it was walking distance to everything (main plaza, shopping markets) and with plenty of restaurants around.
- Carolyn (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff. Bed is very firm.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wouldn't recommend-noisy - Like in my previous review, it is very very noisy I wouldn't stay here again. Just want to mention this time, as I forgot in the previous review for my first stay, that the staff is very nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): This is a joke of a "hotel" - No chance of getting any sleep here, especially if you are on level floor. They have old wood floors that squeak like crazy. You can hear everything that's going on upstairs times 4. And if you are lucky to get the room on the level floor in the corner next to the entry into a kitchen I believe, wow so much noise coming from there. Also first night no hot water which didn't get fixed until next day so we couldn't take a shower...cold water is ice cold. Don't stay here this is a joke, take your money elsewhere...
- Kris (4/5): Doesnât know whether itâs a hostel or hotel... - Great location and room size. Bed comfy.
However on our arrival day no hot water and lied to by first member of staff about when it will be fixed. Upon returning well after that time very non chalant on the verge of rude male just stated the plumber is not even here. Rooms dated, obviously changed hands recently as old name logos still on everything. Room service left dirty cups and hadnât mopped the floor. It has a lot of potential and is in a fantastic location but it needs to pull its act together!
- Melx94 (10/5): Nothing short of excellent - We stayed at this hotel on our first night in Cusco. Checking in was smooth and we were able to get into our room before check in time started. The room was very comfortable and nice. The bed was a little stiff but after a long 30 hour travel time sleeping on planes and in airports, the bed was still greatly appreciated. The tub was very deep and high so we had to be very cautious when getting in and getting out. The most memorable part about this hotel is their staff. We had to leave the hotel at 4 am the next day. When we came out of our room, the hotel had called a taxi for us as well as packed a lunch for us too! Consisted of an apple, sandwich, juice box, bottle of water, and a chocolate bar. It was such a nice surprise! Also, the hotel is located a block away from the plaza so it was great to be walks away from the main attraction and restaurants. Thank you so much for our stay, we highly recommend this hotel.
- pinkedlady (6/5): Convenient location but very noisy - The hotel location can't be beat -- about a block off the main plaza. It was a little difficult to find -- we went to two other Inka Wasi hotels before finding this one. The hotel is centered around a cute courtyard with a fountain, and tea is always available. The beds are a little firm but serviceable, and the rooms are a nice size. There are space heaters available in the rooms. Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs every morning was fairly substantial.
A few complaints -- because of its courtyard design and location above a restaurant, we found the room VERY noisy, which is quite difficult when traveling with a baby. Loud noises and conversations and clanging plates could be heard until at least midnight every night. We also had a hard time getting the appropriate number of towels every day and for 3/4 nights there, they didn't give us any soap.
In short, a satisfactory stay and perhaps worth it for price and convenience, but I would likely try some other place were I to return.
- amreen (8/5): - The hotel location is great (one block from Plaza de Armas), the rooms are comfortable and they provided a heater for cold nights. The breakfast is good with fresh juice and made to order eggs. The only thing to complain was that our toilet flush was not working when we checked in, we informed the main reception and it was still not working when we checked out 3 days later. Another thing is that the hotel runs out of hot water during busy times so either take a shower late at night or early mornings.
- Jonathan (10/5): - I was full drawn in the photograph - and was not disappointed. It's a beautiful, spacious room with a high barn like ceiling. Clean. Comfortable. I could have stayed here for a week. Central location. Staff was amazing. On Sunday many laundries were closed. The desk person arranged for my laundry to be done - at the regular really low Cusco price. I also went on a 4 day trek. When I returned my bags were waiting for me in my room. Breakfast is in an ornate designed beautiful ballroom type space overlooking the square. Divine. It's a bit noisy at night - with an award winning restaurants on the same floor - but the charms of the place far superceed any such noise.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old, but fair - Great location and good pricing. Service ok. Good breakfast espresso included. Was given a breakfast pack the day I left early to Machupicchu.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Great location, great breakfast, rooms do deserve some renovation and better lighting. Service is a bit confusing.
- Eilidh (10/5): Fantastic - A fantastic stay at a beautiful hotel. We checked out and left our bags with them as we were going for an overnight trip and I had booked in again for the night we returned. Once we finally got back to Cusco at 2230, not only did we get the same rooms back again but they had put our luggage back in our rooms so we didn't have to drag the bags up the stairs, which was greatly appreciated!
There was a bit of noise from customers using the restaurant upstairs but it never bothered me and I slept soundly each night.
- Roxanne (6/5): - An old building so floorboards creaked and very difficult to get in or out of the shower/bath. Not recommended for elderly people. Lots of stairs to get to the room as well.
- BarnabyWastell (8/5): Lovely relaxed hotel - Central courtyard is really nice and cool. The staff were great and helped us when our bags didn't turn up by acting as a translator on the phone. They were also very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. Good sized rooms. The shower can take a while to get warm and the breakfast is average.
- 129elaineb (8/5): Great location and great value - Really great hotel located just off the main square in Cusco. Good breakfast and tour services to help us book to Machu Picchu. Rooms were nicely decorated and the staff were friendly. Only thing was in the evenings the rooms could sometimes be a little cold for hanging around in but the down duvets and bedding were plenty to keep you cosy during the night
- Chloe (10/5): Wonderful stay and staff! - They let us check in early when we arrived from the overnight bus at 7am, which was great!
The room is very nice like the picture, clean bed and bathroom. Has a fridge and heater.
If you have a trip in the morning before breakfast, they make you a take away lunch bag which was very handy!
- Tabbi (10/5): Loved it - The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs. This hotel had a great restaurant and was a perfect location.
- Daniel (10/5): Cusco stay - Great service, good breakfast, perfect location.
- ArthurW27 (10/5): Top hotel in the heart of Cusco - On the plaza de Recogijo, a stone's throw from the plaza de Armas you will find this cozy and atmospheric hotel with an attractive courtyard. I stayed there for 18 days.
Attentive and personal service. Cozy, large rooms with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with a great shower make this hotel worthy of a stay. Love the murals! Special thanks to Elio and Luz for this unforgettable experience!
- Colleen (10/5): Great stay in a great location - Family of five stayed in two rooms for two nights. Weâd stay again for the right price.
The rooms are a bit worn and could have used some spring cleaning (splatter of something on the walls). The decor is quite nice beyond the wear. I donât think this hotel is âboutiqueâ standard as there is not enough attention to detail. Regardless, we thought it was great value for the area. Breakfast was excellent. Served in the main restaurant. Floor are creaky so I would request upper floor rather than main floor.
