Enthusiastic, witty, and helpful. Really cute room and shared bath. The breakfast options were really nice as well. Highly recommend.

- Afzal (10/5): - Blue room is too tiny.

- Maggie (10/5): - We liked everything about The Boxley Inn! We were warmly greeted. The Inn was so beautiful and full of history. And yet we didn’t feel like we were in an “old” house. The house was beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely go back!

- Hachem (10/5): - Historic area...
- Brenda (10/5): Grandson’s Wedding - Loved the historic B & B we stayed at. The house was beautiful, well maintained, very neat and clean. They served an excellent breakfast and the staff (Candace) was always available for all our needs. Since this was our first stay at a B & B we did not know how they operated. The bedroom was a little small and we shared a bathroom. Next visit we will know to ask for a bedroom with a bath. Overall we had a wonderful weekend.
- Sharon (10/5): - Wonderful stay! Kathy our Inn Keeper was very sweet and helpful. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be back. It was an excellent and affordable place to stay after a day at Lake Anna.
- Donald (10/5): - This historic home was immaculate with every amenity you could ask for in a bed & breakfast. We were greeted by a wonderfully helpful person who even made dinner reservations for for us. We would definitely stay here again.
- Lilach (10/5): - Amazing inn! We had a lovely time. Will come back. Wish they will add a pool to the property.
- Joshua (10/5): Lovely stay at Boxley Place Inn - We were looking for a place to stay for one night in the vicinity of Lake Anna. The Boxley Place Inn was a perfect spot. Staff checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed (including setting up breakfast for the next morning), but otherwise nobody on site during our stay. We had booked a room with a shared bathroom, but there were no other guests, which made it easy. Cute place, will definitely be back.
- janos (10/5): - THE BEST!
- Jean (10/5): Beautiful b and b - Incredibly clean, wonderful service, easy check-in, great breakfast. Wish i could have opened the window in my room because i like sleeping really cold, but otherwise great!
- Daniel (10/5): - Like: 1800s home is beautiful and beautifully furnished, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Did not like: proximity to train track
Will definitely return despite trains
- Richard (10/5): - Loved it! Great staff, venue, and the city of Louisa is amazing!
- Emily (10/5): - We stayed for one night recently. Kathy, the Innkeeper, gave us a tour of the gorgeous house and explained a bit about the history. We were the only ones in the whole place as the surrounding area was recovering from a major winter storm. Our suite was spacious, had a newly renovated bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was quite ample and included delicious quiche, a variety of fresh fruit, yogurts, and breads. The coffee was local (Orange Coffee), rich and delicious! A very pleasant stay in beautiful property. We'll be back!
- Kathleen (10/5): Excellent - It was a wonderful stay. The service was great.
- Raymond (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay. Lovely and different
- Dianne (10/5): - Ann was a wonderful, informative and welcoming host. This historical B&B was beautifully furnished. It was fun to talk to a family staying at Boxely for the second time to go to an apple farm in the area. Restaurant choices are very limited. But a 15 min drive provides more choices.
- Jonna Niccole (10/5): - The staff went beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful! Loved it and we’ll definitely return.
- Susan (10/5): - Anazing!
- Mardale (10/5): - Ann met me and opened the house . I spent hours talking to her on Fri and Sat. She could not have been more helpful and and hospitable. The house is a museum. There is history on every wall and in every corner. In a day when some people are trying to erase history I am glad the Boxley family has maintained and shared their heritage from the day they arrived in this country as immigrants. It was a pleasure staying in this beautiful home and I would definitely stay here again.
- Nancy (10/5): - It was very quaint and nostalgic. Ann the hostess was so nice and friendly! The breakfast was delicious!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great time staying at the Boxley; Breese was a wonderful host, and the breakfast was quite a bit more than just a continental breakfast -- the quiche was awesome ;) . Just make sure you read the communications about the check-in window -- this is a small business, not a huge hotel chain with staff there 24/7. However, Breese makes way more effort than a typical hotel staff member to make you feel welcome, and also provides a wealth of information regarding the house history, the area businesses, etc.
This house is literally a piece of history, so if you enjoy learning about the past as we do, then I highly recommend a visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice to be on the 1st floor w/ no stairs. Thank you
- Deborah (10/5): The Boxley Place Inn - My husband and I loved staying at The Boxley Place Inn! Debbie, our hostess, was truly hospitable and made us feel at home. The Inn is full of history and charm with the period furniture and family photos. The silver service breakfast made us feel extra special. The attention to detail in everything was outstanding. We would definitely recommend the Inn to other families.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - Great service, very clean, beautiful spot. Beds were a bit noisy but overall excellent service and food.
- marion (8/5): What a little gem! - Divine house, very tastefully decorated. Our suite was so well appointed for our stay. The house is within walking distance to several restaurants. Breakfast was very well organized with each group separated from each other for privacy and physical distancing, and offered delicious food (muffins, bread, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, granola bars, etc.).
The only small detail that made me give it a 4 and not a 5 on condition is that we couldn’t find a comfortable temperature for our floor. While we had access to the thermostat, we struggled all night trying to find a comfortable temp, but ended up being either too hot or too cold.
The other thing is (nothing the owner can do about that) is the train comes by early in the morning and the railroad tracks are right behind the house (it shakes a little when the train goes by). It woke us up but we went back to sleep.
That said, this house is over a hundred years old. Everything is renovated and modern while still displaying traditional chic. We really liked it a lot. Much better than a lot of hotels we’ve stayed at. Would stay there again.
- Christine (10/5): - It was so wonderful to stay in a historic mansion. The Inn is very well kept and clean. There were sanitizing stations everywhere. The porches were wonderful to sit on in the evening. If the weather had been cooperative, we would have taken our breakfast out there too. Breakfast was a large spread of simple foods, but delicious and satisfying nonetheless. I am eager to return!
- NA (8/5): - Quaint rural setting get away. Excellent amenities and spacious house with many balconies, decks, views and personal nooks to read/relax in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Boxley Place Inn.was beautifully decorated, clean, homey and full of great amenities
