Guest Reviews
- Henry (4/5): - We arrived right at check in time. No person at the check in desk… had to go hunt him down. Payment had to be made before we saw the room. First thing I saw when I opened the door was a big stain on the floor. Checked the bathroom. There was like a few sheets of toilet paper… no spare roll. No facecloths. Opened the covers on the bed to check the sheets and there was no top sheet. The whole room felt dirty. There was a group of young adults two doors down from us that were outside constantly until about 3 am. Needless to say did not get a lot of sleep. I would not recommend this motel. It was in quite a disrepair. We stayed as we had already paid for the room.
- Geoff (4/5): - Fairly rundown. But good enough to sleep in
- Patricia (4/5): - Very run down room and springs gone on one side of the bed. Good coffee, fridge and microwave. I couldn't get the tv volume up.
You get what you pay for🙂
- Kamaljit (4/5): - Inside was smelly. the carpet was dirty
- Diana (8/5): - Handy stop for our cross country trip
- Theresa (10/5): - Helpful staff. Easy booking on expedia
- Juliana (10/5): - For the price point, I would give this a 100% rating. It's clean and adequate. Yes you can nitpick this place to death like the other low reviews. It's an older decor that has been well maintained for its age. The provided coffee is actually quite good but they don't have whitener or cream, so nab some from the coffee station at the 7-Eleven down the street or buy some.
- Steven (4/5): - My biggest issue was that the room key was not working correctly. They still use physical mechanical keys, and to get mine to work it had to be jiggled just right. No ice machine, no complimentary breakfast. WIFI worked good. I would say skip this place!
- Alec (10/5): - Very good place for the Price
- Diane (8/5): - Clean and lots of quick places to eat. Sadly they didn’t have any creamer in the room for my coffee first thing in the morning. I hope this is an oversight and not a policy. Other than that, things were fine.
- Doreen (2/5): - The room needs a new door lock. No kleenex, only 1 facecloth for 2 people. Extremely low toilet.
- Jackie (4/5): Safari Inn - Wasn't too impressed with these accommodations. Not what we expected. Below our expectations.
- Loris (8/5): - Dated but ok
- Michael (6/5): - It serves its purpose. No frills, but clean and simple room for travellers passing thru. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not quite up to expectations - Not quite up to expectations, even for a cinderblock motel. Booked a queensize bed room just for an overnight stay - got 2 doubles instead (oh well, so they had twice the bedding to clean). Hotels.com bragged that it had a buffet breakfast, but on check in they were surprised and said there wasn't. The room was basically clean, and the bed was comfortable. Very minimal amenities, but we found that the toilet tissue was the thinnest we have ever come across in our travels (even to 3rd world country standards), and no facial tissue available. Good price for the room, but we won't be back.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Older, but fairly clean place to stay. One bed didn’t have sheet on (no biggie). Would stay again can’t beat price
- Lori (2/5): - Terrible! Does Expedia check these places out? I like a good deal but this was terrible! Starting with:
1. Wifi password given verbally…not written down. Could nor remember it by time I got to room.
2. No phone in room
3. No tub mat…stepped into tub to shower and slipped.
4. No instructions for tv..and there was two remotes.
5. A/C no control…no ability to control temp in room
6. Door had very poor lock.
- David (10/5): - Needs parking lot lines painted. Needs shampoo and conditioner in bathroom
- Dean (8/5): One night stay - A good place for one night. Low price.
- Michael (10/5): - A perfect little motel experience. Clean, comfortable, friendly. If you're looking for a Lynchian vibe, look no further.
- Hannah (10/5): - Really reasonable price and dog friendly. Was rhe perfect place to stop on my road trip
- Jacques (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE. Key didn't open door, room smelled of cigarette smoke, carpet was filthy, hair on sheets in both beds, pillows smelled of sweat. Obviously no housekeeping
- Barry (8/5): - Quiet clean rooms. Decent bed, although the frame has a centre post on each side which is a real toe smasher. Perhaps owners could wrap them with some foam or a pool noodle.
I often stay here. Nothing fancy, but good value for the price. Coffee pot, microwave and fridge provided.
- John (10/5): - Very convenient location and very close to a gas station and short walking distance (even next door!) to restaurants and fast food outlets.
- Diane (8/5): - Good price but a little landscaping and upkeep would be awesome
- Ryan (6/5): - It was fine, typical motel. Room was definitely smoking room.
- Kevin (8/5): - Why was I charged $90.46 through Expedia when the actual hotel cost was $70.78?
- Karen (2/5): - Gave us the wrong room, then gave us keys to a room that had someone in it already!
- Steve (8/5): Great Value - Check in was easy and the young man at the front desk was so helpful.
- Patrick (10/5): - The room was clean and adequate and the person at the desk was friendly!
- Randy (4/5): - What said above. Guess you get what you pay for.
- Yvonne (10/5): - The front desk fellow was very friendly. The motel is older, but very tidy and clean. I really liked how quiet it was, which allowed for a very good night sleep after an extremely long day.
- Teresa (4/5): - I wasn’t expecting anything fancy. The room itself was clean and tidy but the smell was something to be desired. Very old and musty. It was cheap so I got what I paid for. Only had to sleep for a few hours. If they could do something about the smell it would have been a better experience.
- Betty (8/5): - You get what you pay for.
- Jayanta (8/5): - I think its worth the price. very convenience checkin and staffs are helping.
- Stephen (4/5): - Check wasn't particularly friendly. Faculties were quite weathered. Bed was quite hard (good for those that like that, not me).
- corinna (10/5): - Cozy room for the night
- Adam (10/5): - It’s just all a person really needs for a stay and front door parking … Good price 👍
- Kyla (6/5): - It was an okay cheap motel
- C.Wesley (6/5): - Could not get the TV to work
- Darren (8/5): - Good staff
- Thomas (4/5): In need of repair - The motel had over average reviews so we decided to give it a chance. The room was clean, the bed was comfy but the bathroom was water damaged and moldy.
Definitely not worth the price paid.
Room #2
- Kathryn (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay in this older motel. It is somewhat dated but the beds were newer and very comfortable. Although it's just off the trans-canada highway, it was quiet.
- Allyn Dawn (10/5): - 👍
- Jin (8/5): - Just one thing not good that's the heater a little bit loud, so sometimes you feel hard to sleep. But other things are excellent for me. 7-11 behind the motel, there are some chain restaurants and some independent cafeteria where you can walk to. Will book next time if I need.
- Robyn (8/5): - Great service and very accommodating.
- cherylanne (10/5): - This was a very clean and quiet place to stay...
- Thomas (8/5): - Older small motel. Friendly staff, very clean, and inexpensive.
- Diane (10/5): - Quiet and easy to find for a quick overnight stop. The room was a bit too warm initially but we finally figured out how to stop the heater from blowing and then it was much more comfortable.
- Jennifer (6/5): - It was ok for the price just your average motel. Check in was quick and no fuss. Heat didn’t work so room was draftee and cold. I had to have a shower to warm up enough to fall asleep. Bed was comfortable but pillows could of been softer.
- Lesley (8/5): - The property is easy to find and get to off the highway, as well as close to fast food restaurants and a 7-11 for snacks/drinks.
Was disappointed room was cold upon arrival, but an in-room heater fixed that. Would have appreciated a thicker blanket because winter, but I did not ask at frobt desk is available.
- Ryan (10/5): - Great valve Wonderful staff
- Sean (8/5): - Good Value for the price.
- K7616YSsandrab (10/5): Managers behavior has forced me to file a complaint with immigration. - The manager has complained on numerous occasions how arrogant and corrupt the owner is. He has "borrowed" items from me and when I asked him to return them he became enraged and withdrew all services. He then raised my rent by 50% without notice and demanded immediate payment.
- Ed (10/5): - We've stayed here several times over recent years during east to west and west to east travels. The staff are friendly. The accommodations are comfortable and competitively priced. The location is close to Hwy 1. Will stay again.
- Liliane (10/5): - Quiet, safe and clean. Owners are friendly and available when needed.
- Carey (8/5): - Motel was clean and perfect for the cost.
- Charlene (10/5): - A great old motel that was very clean and surrounded by restaurants and a corner store ! It was economical and I would definitely stay there again !
- Neil (6/5): - Quite area, close to shopping areas, convenient stores close by.
- Bruce (6/5): - Comfortable bed. Good fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Unable to adjust heating.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Damp/musty smelling, very pleasant staff though. Could be a little cleaner.
- Brigitte (8/5): - Check in was quick and staff were friendly. Room was a little tight for two people and our dog, but clean. Bed was uncomfortable but we made do.
- Jayme (4/5): - Staff was friendly, but room was dirty and dated.
- Greg (6/5): - Names on doors of safai animals ( black panther,hippopotamus and,lion
- Robin (10/5): - Cheap amd Cheeful, was clean
- Daniela (4/5): - The room wasn't particularly clean. I was a bit grossed out and therefore didn't have a particularly restful night. The mattress was also a bit too firm and the pillows were very thin. I didn't dare using the coffee machine and preferred to purchase coffee outside the premises. Reception was supposed to be open from 7am but when I checked out at around 7.30am the door was locked and there was no one to be seen - apart from a ginger cat lying by the door - so I still had to drop the room key in the key box by the front office. Overall, not a terrible stay but also far from great. I wouldn't stay here again.
- Dale (8/5): - Good inexpensive hotel. Close to everything
- Rick (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay very much, I just spend the 1 night, while I was passing through on my way to Manitoba and I arrived late at night, so most things were closed, so I didn't get to order any food or stuff, but I didn't enjoyed the warm atmosphere and warm welcome by the staff, if ever I drive back through this, I would definitely stay there again, thank you.
- Christie Mae (10/5): - Excellent location. Along the freeway. Next to fast food and close distance to shops like walmart! Staff are very attentive to your needs. The property condition needs upgrade but you get what you paid for. Would definitely recommend and come stay again in the future.
- Lisa (8/5): - I liked the extra room for our child, he really enjoyed his stay
- William (8/5): - Overall good accommodation, some highway noise located on service road - friendly staff.
- Kendall (10/5): - Best bang for you buck. Nothing fancy but for an overnight stop on a road trip it has all I would need. Clean and comfortable. Nice fridge to keep things cool. A nice area behind the property to walk my dog.
- Steven (8/5): - Was just ok
- Kelly (6/5): - Inexpensive
- Travis (6/5): Not as pictured - The photos must have been from an updated room. Mine was not.
- Lief (10/5): - Clean and comfortable, easy access! From the 50" s and 60" s but very nice...convenience stores, groceries' KFC, A & W across from parking!
- Gregory (10/5): - Great location and room
- Lori (2/5): - Checked in, saw the room, and left immediately for some place much better
- Rosemarie (8/5): - I liked the new appliances and flooring. The room was a bit dated but clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and seemed new. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but the shower was great, lots of pressure. I would stay here again, very good value. The outside could use some love, big parking spaces.
- Kelly (8/5): - Very affordable for just a over night sleep.
- Karl-Heinz (10/5): - It is ok
- montyp2019 (10/5): Clean, functional, and finally... a place that won't break the bank. We'll be back! - My wife's 4th time there & my 1st. Next time we have to overnight I'm Swift Current, this IS where we'll stay. It's an older motel and it shows, but it was clean, bed/sheets clean, A/C worked wonders (+30 outdoors), shower was fine (a little low but fine) TV worked, WiFi worked.... Honestly, no real complaints at all, and for about $60, we'll worth it. Even got a KFC next door and a 7-11, A&W, Rita's family restaurant, and gas station very nearby.
If you just need a reasonable place to sleepover (and don't need any hoity-toity garbage), I recommend it.
If you need the bed turned down for you, room service, a Starbucks and a gym, go somewhere else.
- Stefanie (2/5): - Unfortunately room smelled strong of cat urine, people were super loud all night, broken items inside room (including fire alarms) and smashed glass out front. Already had book so just tried to sleep and got out as early as possible.
- Shari (6/5): - It was quiet check in was fast. The beds were not very comfortable need new mattress.
- Donald (4/5): You get what you pay for - One bed looked like it had dirt all over the sheets, the shower was for very short people, no kleenex, limited toilet paper, one coffee cup, yet two packages of coffee to make two pots. very limited shampoo and soap - bring your own supplies - it is very cheap, so can't expect much |I guess
- michelle (10/5): - Economical and clean. Staff very nice!
- Ed (6/5): - It’s fine for what it is. Old, run down, but could be worse. Fine for a quick stop if you aren’t fussy.
- Neil (8/5): - The motel is starting to show its age; its at least 65 years old, judging by the style of the sign. There are some screens coming off windows, and there were signs of age: there are bottle openers in the bathrooms, which made us giggle and reminisce. But the owners and staff were wonderful, as were the motel's cats. The rooms were small, and very comfortable and we slept well. For the price, we'd happily go back again. And there were lots of small restaurants nearby, with a wide selection of food choices from fast food to a family-owned restaurant with a Sunday buffet!
- Brian (4/5): - Didn’t like too much. The metal bed frame was larger than the mattress and I hurt my foot on the frame because it protruded. The dial on the a/c and heater was missing and we had a problem adjusting the room temperature and the fan of the unit was extremely loud. Difficult to balance hot and cold water in the shower. Toilet very low. Room needs to be updated. No secondary lock on the entrance door. No deadbolt or security latch.
- Brenda (8/5): - Quick overnight for price. There’s no casino credit as offered on hotels.com didn’t need the ac so was noisy from the highway traffic.
- Brenda (8/5): - It was fine for a quick overnight stop. Price is affordable. Didn’t get my casino credit but overall location is great. Stopping overnight again tomorrow for the trip home.
- eric (8/5): Good - Clean place. Lot of food options close.
- Darrell (6/5): - The beds were very hard and uncomfortable
- Noriel (10/5): - The owner that welcomed me was great and very friendly. I needed to wash my clothes, he used their laundry facilities for me and washed and dried for me and delivered to my room. Really great guy and easy to talk to. The place is clean and very close to all restaurants. It’s a motel but 5 star service
- Fern (8/5): - Older motel. Our room was clean. A bar fridge, microwave and coffee maker was provided which was a nice touch.
- Brigitte (6/5): - The motel is easy access off TransCanada Hwy. Grounds are unassuming and could use a bit of an update. Rooms are clean and functional for a quick overnight stop.
- Violet (10/5): - Perfect for a quick stop.
- Kelly (10/5): - Basic stay, nothing fancy. A good price.
- Joan (10/5): - Clean, bed was comfortable, had fridge and microwave and coffee pot. No stairs. Close to restaurants and shopping.
- Kathy (4/5): - Had a great kitchenette, very well stocked. Poor pillows. Very ild but good enough for a 1 night stay. Very hot inside, turned the heat iff but windows wouldn't open.
