- Gerard (10/5): - Lovely old house with very friendly and engaging owner. Not sure it is quite a boutique hotel, and some of the descriptions eg beach bars, seemed a bit of a stretch. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and nibbles on arrival as well as breakfast delivered to our suite every morning. Comfortable and quiet, and a nice walk to restaurants of Port Dover.
- Kristina (2/5): - Buyer beware. Please be aware that the bathroom is not attached to the room itself and is expected to be shared with multiple rooms. The size of the room is not as listed. The amenities are not as listed. When we arrived we were taken aback at how little it resembles what was pictured and advertised. The person who greeted us made us sufficiently uncomfortable that we left even though they would not refund us for our stay which was prepaid.

- Kyla (10/5): - I chose Clonmel as a surprise getaway for my husband and I. This was our first night away since becoming parents six years ago. Stakes were high, and I wanted to find something special we wouldn't usually do with kids in tow. Clonmel exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Craig, and we knew we were going to have a great experience. He offered us a bottle of wine and showed us around the castle with detail on the history and made us feel very comfortable in the space. The entire property is beautifully maintained. We took some time to explore the downtown, played mini golf before dinner, and visited the waterfall near the property. We inquired about the fire pit on the property. Craig took care of setting up and managing the fire throughout the evening. His stories were fantastic and made the whole experience very memorable. We will never forget this trip. In the morning, Lynnee and Craig prepared the most excellent breakfast, and we enjoyed coffee on the porch. Would highly recommend Clonmel for those seeking a unique and memorable stay.

The property was meticulously restored to a high standard in keeping with the era of the construction. Craig's culinary skills were definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to various restaurants made it a convenient choice for dining out ( Although you do not need to, as there are great dine-in options at the hotel). A charming, quaint, quiet & a stunning property with all the amenities. They were setting up for a wedding the next night & the decorations were beautiful. 5 rooms that sleep 20 people in total; we might just be back with all our friends!! Lynee was absolutely lovely & went above & beyond to make sure our stay was perfect!!

- Aaron (6/5): Okay/Not Great - The overal experience is okay. Definitely not a "Castle" -> just a large house. It is not as high end/well kept as the photos show. If you are expecting super quality - expect medium. There's paint peeling in certain areas in the rooms. The grounds around the building are a little unkept. There's a hearse car with bat stickers outside. Bathroom was a little worn. The rooms and building were still kept clean. The staff were nice. The food was okay. Eggs+potato breakfast. Store bought cake for desert was a let down at dinner. Breakfast is included for in the price. Dinner is not included and you will be billed at the end of your stay. Expect $100 for dinner for 2 for an average meal. Port Dover town is a 5 minute drive. Not much to do in town. 30 minute drive to Turkey Point. Overall, this place was okay, but the price is a little high for the overall experience. I recently stayed at a better bed and breakfast in Port Stanley which was lower in price and a much better quality and experience. (Telegraph House).

- Emily (10/5): Memorable Stay - My boyfriend and I stayed in the red room in late July. Our stay was great - our hosts (we dealt primarily with Tanya and Lynnee) were welcoming and gracious. We were offered a custom bottle of wine on arrival, and breakfast in the morning was absolutely perfect. The fireflies lighting up the property late evening was unforgettable; there were thousands. If you visit, don't forget to visit the waterfall across the lane! We would love to visit again. I want to play a rousing game of CLUE in their beautiful library!!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely, Peaceful Stay at the Clonmel Castle - Gorgeous home in a very quiet neighbourhood of Port Dover. Tea, coffee and snacks are available 24/7. The hostess, Lynee, was very accommodating. A couple of days before our arrival, we found out that the Deluxe Cabin we had reserved on Expedia had no running water. Fortunately, we were able to be moved into the main house into a beautiful room. Excellent hot breakfast. Be sure you know exactly the kind of room you are reserving.

Glad we chose the cottage for that experience. We'd like to return one day and stay in the castle. Our host Lynneee was warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Clonmel Castle is beautiful. The food was amazing. We had a fun two days and would definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Great Potential BUT - We booked a 'Deluxe 1 Bedroom Cottage' that turned out to be a cabin with an outhouse. We were then given a room in the main building that did not have an ensuite but were assured we would have exclusive use of the bathroom across the hall - not so. The room did not have air conditioning and was uncomfortably hot the night we stayed. If you thinking of staying at the Clonmel Castle ask questions about exactly what you will be getting. The place has tremendous potential and the owner is very pleasant BUT the advertising is misleading.
- Lori (8/5): 3 day stay not long enough! - We stayed in the "Glamping cottage". It was private, quaint and cozy. Toilet was an ultra clean Porta John. Showers were in the main house. We had full use of the house. If this is not your style, stay in the main house. Breakfast was included and was more than ample and delicious! Owner, Lyneee, was a gem. She was professional, ploite and friendly, as was all of her staff. Grounds are large with seating in various places. There are seating areas outside which are protected from the weather. There is a beautiful waterfall across the street, a nearby Rail Trail. Port Dover itself is a great place to visit! Would definitely return.
