We were there during Dia de Los Muertos and so the town was lively, fun and celebratory. It was noisy and we expected it, so we weren’t bothered. You might want earplugs, if you’re sensitive.

- Patricia (10/5): - We are snowbirds down in Mazatlan. I surprised my hubby with a little getaway for our anniversary. Such a little gem in histórico Mazatlan. Easy walk to dinner en Plaza Macado. The whole hotel was so well done, really unique with lots of character. Staff were so nice.Very clean. Couldn’t beat the price and nice breakfast included. Highly recommend!

- Amy (10/5): Fantastic first visit to Mexico - We really liked everything, especially the hospitality and professionalism of all the service professionals there. The receptionists-Veronica & Dany- were fantastic! They answered our questions, and gave recommendations for local cuisine and street food. They also went out of their way to secure a pulmonia tour the night prior. The location is wonderful for those who like to walk explore the city and have easy nearby access to most tourist sites -Malecon, Plaza Macheo, beaches, art museum-across the street & local shops. For longer routes (Isla de Las Piedras), the Uber/Didi was reliable. There was a restaurant next door to the B&B and plenty of eating options for any budget within walking distance. They also had OXXO store within approx.1000 feet. We had the Deluxe Junior Suite and it had plenty of space for 3 of us. The beds were comfortable, the towels were high quality, and the decor showcased the beauty of Mazatlan culture. The balconies were a wonderful way to relax and see the city. They had a space with a large table and dining room like area for people to read books, to watch TV, play games, and socialize. They had filtered water available which was fantastic as the temps were hot and humid in the afternoon and evenings. My family felt safe the entire time walking around the city and Malecon as many local residents were out late at night socializing and enjoying their families and friends. We attended during Holy Week, and a lot of people were in the city. The noise level was high at night due to the proximity to the Malecon and restaurants. Several days it leveled off around 10:30-11 pm, and other nights it lasted until 1:00 am. I wore ear plugs and it helped. That really is the only thing. Everything was wonderful and I would stay again.

The worst thing that can be said about the property is that you can expect to wait a while for hot water to reach your bathroom, so just anticipate that; once you're aware, that hardly even ranks as a minor inconvenience.

I found the staff very pleasant and helpful, the decor of the room was charmingly colourful in traditional Mexican style and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good and access to Macaws next door very handy. Given the close proximity to the busy Malecón, this small hotel was pretty quiet. Access to patio and terraces was a bonus, including the roof terrace with ocean view. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Location was only a block off the malecon and Los Altos beach with several restaurant options there, as well as the Macaw restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was also great. Be aware, though, there is no parking provided. Only on the street. But still....Highly recommend!!

- Diana (9/5): gorgeous, welcoming, perfect location in El Centro - The room (#7, Carazza) and the facility are beautiful. Vivid colors, painted tiles and art everywhere. Huge walk-in shower. Double sink. Several areas to spend time, including a rooftop patio and a couple balconies, plus an adorable pool/fountain/dining area/patio. In the lobby, there's a large urn a fresh, filtered water with pitchers and cups in the room which was great as we were avoiding drinking tap water. The staff and managers were extremely friendly and eager to help. Most spoke excellent English, and those who did not were patient with our limited Spanish (with some help from Google translate). The location was excellent -- short walk to the Malecón and the beach, la Plaza Machada, many restaurants, museums and and so on. 1. Memory foam mattress was too soft for my taste. 2. Wish there was less noise -- having arrived from the US east coast, the time difference meant we were up way past our bedtime when the live music at the attached restaurant died down. Fortunately we brought ear plugs so not a big deal. 3. To protect the vintage plumbing, they want you to put your used toilet paper in the trash, which...ewwww.

It added to the overall joy of our Mazatlan experience. The staff in the restaurant and kitchen are kind and hospitable, as are all the employees of this lovely hotel. Alfredo and Vern are wonderful hosts. The hotel is perfectly located for a rich experience of both the beach/malecon and Centro Historico of Mazatlan. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLIAINTS!

- Vaughn (10/5): Exceptional - Casa De Leyendas exceeded our expectations. It's located in the historic center, which is an ideal place to stay if you'd like to experience authentic Mazatlán. The staff is SO kind an accommodating. They have beach towels/umbrellas/chairs to lend you for the beach and the free breakfast is delicious.

- Steve (8/5): I will return one day. - We had a great time at the hotel due to it's awesome location, helpful staff and delicious food and drinks. I'm amazed at the well kept manner of the common areas. My issues were the bedding sheets were not a clean as I would expect when we arrived. That said, the maid service did come in and changed them to fresh sheets during the middle of the trip.

All the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The morning breakfast was tasty and non stop coffee (till 11 am) was appreciated. Macaws, the restaurant/bar which is part of Casa de Leyendas, is a great place to stop for a rest and a bite to eat, especially on evenings when they have live music.

- Beth (10/5): - This is a lovely bed & breakfast that is located 1/2 block from the beach in the Centro Historico district of Mazatlan. The property is formerly a doctor's home/clinic that was converted into lodging. In character with the large Mexican casas, there is a center courtyard surrounded by the individual rooms. Each colorful room is uniquely decorated and there are several common areas (both inside and outside) for guests to relax and get the true hacienda experience. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the decor... beyond the beautiful ceramic tile, the metal scrollwork, and the marble staircase, the place is adorned with colorful art on the walls, painted talavera accessories and beautiful plants. Staff is very attentive and we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. The facility is clean and safe (the front gate is locked at night; only guests have keys). Breakfast was included with our room and is served on the central patio. Breakfast included coffee/tea, seasonal fruit, and a choice from the breakfast menu. The restaurant adjoining the hotel prepares the food. The hotel is located on one of the narrow cobblestone streets characteristic of old Historic Mazatlan; there is a small public plaza directly across the street plus 2 museums a few steps away. You feel like you are in a quaint neighborhood, not in a touristy area. However you are in walking distance of all that Centro Historico has to offer. Would definitey recommend Casa de Leyendas.

- Teresa (10/5): Lovely B&B in Old Mazatlán - Casa do Leyendas is a beautiful and comfortable B&B. The staff is warm, welcoming and efficient. It is in a great location in old town Mazatlán, adjacent to Macayos Restaurant, across from two museums and a half block away from the beach. Breakfast is good, but minimalistic. It is served in the beautiful central courtyard, but food items like orange juice or bacon cost extra.
- Philip (9/5): Superb - Great breakfast, unbeatable location in between Olas Altas beach and Plaza Machado, lots of great restaurants nearby. Relatively quiet for being in a busy area (especially if you get a room facing the courtyard vs the street). Rooms are simple but comfortable and clean and staff was very helpful and kind! Hotel restaurant Macaws was so so - Recommend eating at one of the many other great spots nearby for lunch/dinner. Light sleepers may have some trouble - opening the windows to get fresh air rather than AC meant street noise and light.
