- Andrew (9/5): Lovely friendly Bed & Breakfast. Highly recommended. - The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and was a great start to every day's hiking adventures.
- Rachel (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent! I will be returning again . - 9 Green Lane was a beautiful place to stay- clean, quiet and comfortable, with a convenient location close to the town and to Poole’s Cavern and the Country Park. The owners Rupert and Caroline were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic, with excellent choices for vegetarians which I really appreciated.
- Ross (9/5): - Accommodating and appreciated hosts leaving me to it after sharing relevant info about the accommodation. Outdated decor, but was perfectly warm and comfortable.
- Gustav (9/5): -
- Natalia (8/5): Comfortable, good location, good food - The location as a gateway to Peak District is superb. The restaurants in Buxton are very good, the food is really tasty, not forget to book in advance your table. The hosts at the B&B are very friendly and caring about the guests comfort. Breakfast is very good, you make a choice and it is cooked for you in a way you like it. Free parking at the premises.
- Joanne (10/5): -
- Dora Dominika (7/5): Comfortable, nuce and warm - Small cosy accommodation in a splendid building. The smaller room sizes
- Sandra (7/5): - Somewhere to park
- Mark (10/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Great B&B in good location. - Very good breakfasts, beautiful room and close to restaurants and shops.
- Rob (8/5): Perfect - Excellent location
- Adam (8/5): Great location, comfortable abode - Great location, lovely breakfast. Close to the high street. Easy parking Not much. Curtains were missing from the room and would have been nice to block the light in the early mornings
- Richard (10/5): - Excellent location, clean tidy warm rooms and welcoming hosts.
- C (10/5): -
- Sean (8/5): - Location clean and comfortable bed Nothing

Nice Breakfast
- todd (10/5): - Excellent hosts. Great location, beautifully maintained house. Very well appointed room, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great...and delicious...breakfast choices. Ample car parking.
Lovely and quiet and great value for money. I highly recommend this bnb.. I had to drive 170 miles to get there 😂
- Matt (6/5): Great property, good location and value for money. Super breakfast choice. - Very good breakfast all freshly cooked to our order (placed the evening before). There was parking on the premises and the street was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the hosts welcoming. The room above had a creaky floor which woke us up in the night when other guests arrived and also were up in the night. This is an older property and so to some extent this is unavoidable. My recommendation is to not stay in a ground floor room.
- Moira (8/5): Great location large comfortable bedroom great breakfast. Good value for money. Would return. - Great location for centre of town and attractions. Easy to find good parking, warm welcome from hosts. Large spacious comfortable room clean comfortable beds and fab towels in the lovely clean modern en-suite bathroom, good choice of drinks and biscuits on hospitality tray in the room. Quiet location.
Great breakfast good choice of food, perfectly cooked and served in clean bright welcoming dining room.
Would recommend. Lighting in the bedroom and the top bed covers. Also would have preferred curtains at the large bay window instead of flimsy pull cord window blinds. A minor issue really.
- David (10/5): Top Notch - Top Notch room with all the facilities you'd expect. Nothing.
- Anthony (9/5): Good location for what we wanted to do , clean comfortable and excellent value - Excellent cooked to order good choice.
Excellent value for money Wouldn’t have minded paying more to have more tea/toast
- Olivia (7/5): - I loved the style of the house, lovely large rooms.. Had an option of bath or shower.
The staff had placed some lovely interesting information about the building in the room.
Very close to town, so there were plenty of options to choose from.
- Adrian (10/5): A wonderful break in beautiful Buxton. -
- Simon (9/5): -
- Ian (9/5): -
- Tony (9/5): Why is breakfast extra in a b+b???????? - Comfortable. Breakfast was extra. The industry needs to rename the bed and breakfast as bed but breakfast extra?
- Sara (10/5): -
- Nick Allcock (9/5): Excellent value, clean, friendly and excellent breakfast - Friendly host, clean room, comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast Bathroom in single room very cramped!
- Nadine Et Carl (9/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): 1 Night Stay - The hotel was in an ideal location for the centre with a short walk to pubs, restaurants and places to see.
The room was basic and clean and very quiet.
Great for parking outside the guest house.
Great shower in room. Our room was freezing when we arrived needing the heating to be put on. When back in our room after eating out it was still cold. The heating went off during the night leaving the room really cold and uncomfortable to sleep.
It was very cold after having a shower.
When we went down to the dining room for breakfast this room was also freezing cold with a cold draft through the window, making it difficult to enjoy your breakfast. The cups and cutlery was freezing to touch because the room was so cold.
- Annable (10/5): -
- ANNETTE (5/5): - It was clean and resonably priced Bathroom door got stuck on a few occasions
- Michael (8/5): -
- Caroline (8/5): - Good location close to town and Poole's cavern. Good breakfast. Would have liked a shelf or hook in bathroom for toiletries. The radiator was a bit "temperamental".
- Emma (8/5): Lovely stay in a really nice place - Great location, room was clean and the bed comfortable. The onsite parking a big bonus. We had a superb freshly cooked breakfast and there was a selection of cereal and fruit on offer. The hosts were friendly but not intrusive and offered great advice on the area Nothin not to like
- Geraldine (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent. Good choice of items, quality products and well cooked and presented
- Tracy (10/5): Lovely stay at Buxton - Lovely B&B , the hosts were welcoming and friendly. Gave us good recommendations for places to visit and eat. Great location close to all amenities.
- Anthony (10/5): Lovely clean and comfortable - Local to were we needed to be. Owners were lovely and friendly the room was nice and clean. nice soft towel and nice quality bedding. Cooked Breakfast was good quality. Love bowl of fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend As above
- Janet (9/5): -
- Ralf (8/5): -
- Catharine (9/5): -
- Dave (8/5): -
- Roland (10/5): Super stay at 9 Green Lane. - Hosts were great, very helpful and gave advice on local sites of interest. Breakfast was great too. Room was spacious. Nothing.
- Ana (10/5): - The owners are very nice, prepare a nice breakfast every morning.
The room is very spacious, clean and quiet.
I definitely recommend it
- David (9/5): Great location, good facilities and superb breakfast. Highly recommended - Great location only a few minutes walk from town centre and its amenities. Good facilities in the room quality tea coffee etc and comfy bed. Very nice breakfast cooked fresh with quality ingredients. This is being picky but the pillows were a bit hard for my preference and the room would be better with curtains instead of blinds.
- French (9/5): Relaxing short break away , our jobs are stressful so we needed this - This was a perfect stay for us , location excellent , lovely greeting , breakfast lovely , enjoyed our time There was nothing we didn't like
- Stephen (9/5): Pleasant 3 day break and accommodation close to Buxton Centre and Poole’s Cavern and Solomon’s Temple to enable me to wa - Nice room, plenty of space, comfortable bed and great choice at breakfast. No complaints
- William (10/5): Excellent stay. Lovely spacious room, quality towels and toiletries best breakfast ever. Rupert and - Excellent breakfast. Always fresh fruit on offer, quality yoghurts and the best available choice of three cereals. Full cooked breakfast on offer which was always cooked freshly for you. Large choice and several additional egg selections. Probably the best breakfast I have had in any B&B or hotel I have stayed in. Thank you will definately come again. Could not have been better
- Ales (10/5): - Great breakfast, very helpful and kind host, location of the house very close to the city center, quiet location, beautiful historic building, beautiful flower decorations, large enough parking lot or plenty of space on the street. n/a
- Malcolm (9/5): I would go there again. - I have a large room, clean and well decorated. Comfortable bed, good shower and good breakfast. Helpful and friendly hosts. None.
- Renate (9/5): - Mooie locatie, vriendelijke mensen. Goed ontbijt. Niks
- Rick (10/5): - It was a very clean and comfortable room with en suite facilities. Perfect for my weekend stay. I would recommend this b n b.and will stay their again. I can't think of any downside to this accommodation
- Petko (9/5): I will recommend it to my friends -
- Marc (10/5): Fabulous - Great breakfast, lovely people, spacious room, perfect stay 😍
- Vincent (7/5): Pleasant Guest House within walking distance of Buxton Town Centre - The couple who run this establishment are very nice and the breakfast was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The room was even smaller than I imagined.
- Janet (5/5): - Good breakfast. Nice shower. Cramped tiny shower room. Small bedroom with dismal outlook. Offhand proprietor. Stuffy breakfast room with no outlook (blind across window) and constant noise from kitchen next door.
- David (9/5): Hosts are super friendly, eager to make sure you have everything needed and the breakfast is tip top - Fabulous breakfast, great choice and cooked to your requirements bedroom doors tend to slam shut which can be annoying early in the morning or late at night.
- Raymond (9/5): Double rooms are of good size and a comfortable stay is assured. - The Breakfast was excellent. Good ingredients and hot plates. Croissant warmed in oven not microwave.
The location was really too far to walk for the central location of theatre but ideal for access to upper Buxton I liked the Taylor's ground coffee bags and decaf tea. The fittings, shower, and quality of towels with handcloth provided were excellent.
- David (9/5): Would recommend to anyone … Excellent location with lots of local amenities in walking distance . - Excellent breakfast & location . One bed was of average comfort but acceptable .
- June (10/5): LOVELY STAY IN GREAT LOCATION - THE LOCATION THE ROOM STAFF WERE COURTEOUS ALL ROUND GOOD STAY AND VALUE FOR MONEY EVERYTHING FINE
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Beata (10/5): Exceptional - It was a pleasure to stay at 9 Green Lane. Location was very convinient for sightseeing the district and just a short walk to the town centre. Hosts were super friendly, served delicious breakfast and shared plenty of tips about the region. Great place to stay!
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Graeme (8/5): A very cosy stay in a classic British BnB - Incredibly comfortable room in a really nice surrounding area. The tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and the breakfast, were both outstanding. The owners were really welcoming, letting us know about local attractions when we arrived. The location at the far end of town from bars and restaurants led to a nightly 20-minute walk in each direction, but that not the worst thing in the world.
- Ruff (9/5): It was good to go again because I have not managed to get a booking when I have come up before - Lovely choice for breakfast
- Fiona (9/5): Excellent, would return, breakfast top notch - Great place with lovely friendly owners, super clean and a real attention to detail. Breakfast was excellent and the beds comfy. Not much! Only request would be to swap to refillables in the bathroom to reduce single use plastics 🙂
- Susan (4/5): Spoiled by the hosts attitude & lack of good housekeeping. - The breakfast was ok & the bed was comfortable. Good tea & coffee making facilities. The host did not ask if I had any dietary requirements & grudgingly made me some sandwiches to eat later as I get stomach ache if I eat early in the day. Cleanliness of the carpets, especially under the beds were disgusting. Skirtings filthy, with previous guests coffee & very dirty paintwork generally. Host on arrival made me feel like an inconvenience , not a paying guest & to be honest did not interact & are definitely not friendly or cut out to be hosting guests. They are not able to clean the propery to an acceptable standard as it seems a whisk over with a sticky roller & not a Dyson or shark vacuum with brush rollers is their carpet cleaning regime 😳& the plug hole in the bath was full of black mould & other peoples hair which I removed. The drawers had hairs in also. This is not acceptable or hygienic. Also screeching birds outside early in the morning & revving bikes late at night, sadly a sign of today’s society & out of the hosts control.
- Barry (10/5): Enjoyable -
- Lesley (9/5): Superb -
- Erica (9/5): I enjoyed my stay at 9 Green Lane; as a solo traveller the house was welcoming, safe and comfortable - The breakfast was traditional English with plenty of options, and was a great way to start the day. The portions were excellent.
- Heather (9/5): Great stay, will definitely return - Lovely old property, had everything we needed & perfect location Nothing to dislike!
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Excellent location for central Buxton, nice on-site parking area, large room with comfortable beds, wonderful breakfast, very cordial and helpful hosts with good suggestions for things to see and do, quiet location despite proximity to town center, curtains kept room nicely dark at night Room had a slightly musty smell but not enough to detract from the overall high quality of our stay; could have used more lighting
- Daphne (9/5): Marvelous place! - The hosts are lovely, everything is clean and cosy, and breakfast was splendid. The bed was comfortable, but on the small side.
- Pete (9/5): Green Lane idyll. - Great location, v comfortable and spacious rooms, good quality everything inc breakfast - proper bacon and lean sausages.
- Jake (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Roy (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was excellent.
Our hosts, Rupert and Caroline were very friendly and helpful with recommendations of places of interest.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janette (10/5): Lovely B&B - Loved our stay, very nice people, breakfast amazing, room wonderful, slept very well, will book again
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Good value B&B offering an excellent breakfast. Located near the lovely country park. - The breakfast was excellent. The location is very good for the country park and is not too far to walk to the town centre. I did not find the bed too comfortable and the bathroom was very compact if well appointed. It’s also worth noting that there is a day nursery next door so there can be noise from that depending on which room you’re in.
- Simon (8/5): Excellent for a short stay and great breakfast -
- Harvey (10/5): Solid B&B. Can’t fault it. I would return. - Local to the town but quiet. Good parking. Spacious and clean. High ceilings, comfy bed, hot shower, and a good tv. Nothing.
- Michael (7/5): Good - The location near town and more widely the Peak District.
Friendly staff
- Alys (8/5): Very good - Very nice room in a convenient location within Buxton. Nothing to complain about.
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (9/5): I will definitely be staying again next time I am up in Buxton - Breakfast was great, cooked to order.
Very friendly owners
Good location, eateries within 5 minutes walk The ensuite in the single room was a little bit tight, fine for me, but others my not think so.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Adrian (8/5): Very good value for money, ideal base to visit around the Buxton area - Generally very pleased with our stay at no9
Excellent breakfast. Friendly hosts Very quiet dinning room, could do with background music
Cobwebs and dust on picture rail
- Deborah (10/5): Super cosy stay - A nice cosy stay
Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.
Very close to town centre 👌 👍
Off road parking too.
Rupert and his wife very nice people . And very helpful. not find any thing to dislike
- Annette (7/5): Good -
- Philip (8/5): Excellent overnight stay after our visit to the Opera House. -
- Dianne (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Welcome hosts who made our short stay very welcome. No hesitation in staying there again. - Good parking with lots of space available at the property. Coffee bags in the hospitality tray were a pleasant surprise rather than instant coffee granules, as were the biscuits which were replaced everyday. Thank you.
The layout in the bedroom we stayed in, with a separate shower room from the toilet and handbasin, was very useful and practical.t
Breakfast was a delight. Adequate selection of cereals, orange juice and fresh fuit mixture provided. Cooked breakfast was freshly prepared, hot, with a good choice to suit all tastes. It was also not greasy and had lots of flavour. Scrambled eggs were one of the best.
Good location for several hostileries (pubs), restaurants / take-aways. Also only a short walk from the Pavilion Gardens / Market Place. The toilet in the room we stayed in was very low. This coukd be an issue for those with mobiloity issues or of a large build.
- Kevin (9/5): We stayed for one night,we found everything to be to our satisfaction and would stay again. - An easy comfortable stay, staff were superb, very friendly, breakfast was so good and would use again no hesitation. The only negative for us was the coffee in the room and this was only a small thing but would've prefered another option.
