Guest Reviews
- V3765LXjacquelineb (2/5): Don't Book this Hotel - OMGosh where should I start? booked last minute as a get together with family, we were told on the phone by a young girl that we didn't need to book a table for dinner, we could just turn up. We arrived at 7.15 to check in only to be told that the restaurant was closed because the hotel was in the middle of being sold on and the chef hadn't been replaced... WHAT? in a matter of 2 hours? Very disappointing, we were told to go to Toby Carvery down the road but being NY eve they were closing early so everything felt a bit rushed. We were given room 209 which smelled damp and musty, there was a huge brown stain on the ceiling that looked as if could fall in at any minute, obviously a leak somewhere, the towel rail was rusty and hanging off the wall it was a terrible room so I asked to be moved. we were then given room 205 which was marginally better but we couldn't close the bathroom door, the mattress must have been really old, it was really uncomfortable and we could here the springs creak every time we moved. We just could not wait to get up and go home. The staff however, were very pleasant.
- Departure64336095353 (2/5): do not use this hotel - this hotel should not be allowed to charge the high rates it does. my friend and I booked a room each at £70 each for 1 night, the beds were rock hard the room smelt damp and musty and the traffic noise was loud. breakfast was a let down, bought at at extra charge of £10 plus, dripping in grease and served by a very sullen waitress , also to be bumped into by an elderly male employee at 10.30am carrying half a pint of lager was not nice
there were positives, the receptionist on arrival was very friendly and helpful and the evening meal, although expensive, was very nice
- lisaharries730 (4/5): Not good - Brilliant location and the lady on the reception desk when we arrived was lovely, unfortunately that's all the good things to say about this place.
We had a holiday package booked and this was what we had offered to stay in the night before. Having read the reviews I was very wary about our stay but thought we're only there for a few hours how bad can it be....pretty bad...We had a 6am flight so needed to be up early anyway but myself and my husband had about 2/3hrs of broken sleep all night. The bed was absolutely DREADFUL, the road noise was terrible and our room was musty and too warm.
The room itself was clean enough but smelt damp/ stale and the windows had blown so there was condensation running all down it. Bathroom was clean enough but the whole room just smelt damp.
Due to the bed/road noise we definitely wouldn't stay here again, albeit such a good location, will be booking the Travelodge a few minutes down the road next time.
- andrewsN9955GQ (8/5): Positive feedback - Location excellent. Welcoming atmosphere. Rooms adequate a little tired but spotless comfy mattress and pillows. Value very good. Public rooms clean and tidy again a little tired but nothing that would put us off staying again which we will be doing again in January. No noise to complain about it we were at back of hotel ot sure what front rooms would be like as a busy road in front of hotel. Service excellent helpful and friendly receptionist. Had the mixed grill in the restaurant I wouldn’t have expected this level of catering in this type of hotel (without being negative a hotel that probably deals mostly with passengers for flights) could not fault mixed grill nice steak and locally sourced sausages and gammon (having spoken to the chef) again will have that on my next stay. Overall would recommend to friends and family.
- Leah (10/5): - The hotel was lovely. Clean. Generous with tea/coffee and biscuits 😋 the towels were nice and big. Very quiet. Great nights sleep and great base place for Cardiff city centre without paying extra! Would definitely stay again!
- carljX4357CR (2/5): The name of the property isn't appropriate for the standards.... - First impressions last.... Chap who welcomed us had no idea of any Customer Service skills, having worked in a service provider for 38 years, this service would not be accepted. Rooms outdated, damp, ceilings cracked.
Location of the hotel is perfect, however, the above would stop me from going again.
- hollies235 (2/5): Avoid avoid avoid - Terrible experience. We requested a cot 4 months in advance and had it confirmed it was added to the booking and would be in the room on arrival, but when we arrived they didn’t have one and had no spares. Their“solution” offered was a few bottles of wine — completely useless when traveling with a baby. One staff member even suggested we let the baby sleep in her pram or just stay up all night with them (as we had an early flight the next day!). We ended up having to book another hotel down the road last minute ( Premier Inn Barry which I can’t recommend enough excellent customer service)
The room itself smelled badly of damp, was old, dated, and in desperate need of a revamp. Honestly glad we didn’t stay — avoid this place at all costs.
- N5667RGaprilb (10/5): Lovely staff, comfortable rooms and amazing food! - Great place to stay before an early morning flight!
What a lovely start to a holiday, really nice and comfortable room, 2 mins away from the airport the absolute highlight was the food in the restaurant. The staff were so helpful and lovely. Definitely recommend.
- mark (6/5): - Bit care worn, needs some TLC.
- Yvonne (8/5): - It met our needs for a hotel near the airport
Staff were very helpful and friendly
- 167tbt (2/5): Don't book! - Booked as close to airport, advice.. don't!
Dated rooms, threadbare carpets not even fitted properly. Can't see out of windows due to condensation between glazing, smells stale, walls covered on dirty marks has definitely put a damper on the start of holiday. Photos do not give accurate reflection. Basic
- Gareth (4/5): Don’t bother. - Inside needs a good lick of paint, doors look shabby, cracks in the wall. WiFi is awful, when I asked the receptionist she was not really interested. Apparently many guests have complained about it, but nothing gets done. It’s 2025 WiFi is a very basic requirement.
- lisatX6251FF (10/5): Great stay - The hotel was lovely, friendly welcome and the food cooked by chef John was outstanding piping hot and delicious. We had a lovely stay thank you 😀
- Tina (6/5): - We enjoyed the fact that it was so close to the airport. The shower head came off once water pressure was applied. And the beds were very uncomfortable. I think it’s time for a new mattress. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good and you had lots of options.
- Robert (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Cheap and cheerful come to mind. Closest to Cardiff Airport is big plus. They have a wonderful restaurant with very reasonable food and service (good thing as there is nothing else around.) Very modest rooms biggest draw back are the beds, they are a bit bouncy and the springs are noisy (need a trip to IKEA for an update). But for £62 you get what you pay for. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- erik (10/5): - was wonderful
- Joan (10/5): - Very convenient. Good food and very pleasant staff.
- Denise (8/5): - Close to the airport
- Jennifer (6/5): My review - I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming.
However the accommodation is looking tired and needs updating.
The bed was comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep.
- Rhian (8/5): - Hotel was clean. Comfy beds. Staffwere very friendly and helpful. X
- FrequentFlier401892 (2/5): Terrible - The room was damp and stank of mould and damp. The carpets were worn, threadbare and looked like it had had water damage as it was stained. The skirting were misshapen and were cracked. Only one plug in the room. shower room was awful. The beds were old and the strech covers had rips and teats. We left at 6.00 am it was so bad. Beware the images on the internet do not represent this hotel.
- joy (6/5): - the lady on reception was incredibly helpful but the room was a little tired, although very clean.
- Samantha (10/5): Nice little stop over. - Happy with our stay at the Celtic International. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Small bar/restaurant which was quiet.
Rooms varied, all clean but with a severe lack of plug sockets - 2 in the whole room and 1 was for the TV, none next to the beds so hard charging phones. Views were nice at the back though.
There was a little common room with a pool table which we spent a good while in. We ordered some picky food bits and the garlic bread with cheese was absolutely delicious.
Breakfast was 10/10 - food was delicious and the bacon was definitely locally sourced thick welsh bacon. Very impressed.
Would definitley stay again if passing through Barry - 10 mins by car to Barry Island but had a real countryside feel.
- Anthony (4/5): Not for us! - On check in with 2 children, (13 & 10) told there was no WiFi in our room, everywhere else but not in our room! No apology, just matter of fact.
Room had 3 beds for a family, but just 1 double socket in the room.
Mattress seen better days, roll over and squeezing woke me up, could even hear the springs creaking as I was breathing!
Good for a flight maybe, but nothing else.
- Jamie (6/5): - The hotel is very conveniently situated close to Cardiff airport and Barry which was perfect for our overnight trip. The bathroom was clean and provided all the facilities we needed.
The young girl training on the front desk was unenthusiastic and tried to advise us to park at the airport and walk back as there was no parking available on arrival! Thankfully, another lady came to assist and offered us additional parking around the side of the hotel premises - she couldn’t have been more helpful or kind to us!
We booked two rooms and noticed a huge difference in the quality between them.
The one room our party had was perfectly fine, the bed was comfortable and facilities wonderful!
The other room we stayed in was room 200 and we unfortunately had the worst night’s sleep we’ve had in a long time. The mattress was like a deflated air bed and provided no support whatsoever. We got back very late due to a family function and at that point we were too late to swap rooms. I wish we would’ve sat on the bed before we headed out so we could’ve solved this but we didn’t realise how uncomfortable the bed was until we went to go to sleep. Our backs are in bits today as a result. There were stains on the carpet in the room, marks on the walls and the room was stifling hot even with a fan and the windows open.
Like other reviewers have said, there are no plug sockets by the beds which wasn’t an issue for us but something to be aware of if it would impact your stay.
- Abdul (6/5): - Hotel by farm , strong manure smell .
- Mira (10/5): - I wouldn’t say it’s a walkable distance from the airport, but it was quiet and clean.
- Kathy (4/5): Tired hotel - Rooms are extremely tired
You should expect a comfortable bed but mattress was awful and didnt even reach the bottom of the bedframe!
Staff were very nice and deserve recognition for tha
We had no sleep because of the uncomfortable bed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Unfortunately we didn't stay the night, we had to leave due to family circumstances.
We had a lovely welcome at reception. The gentleman on duty was really helpful and supportive.
The room was excellent, as was the view. Everything in the hotel was fresh and clean.
- david (8/5): - Breakfast was good, staff were great. Rooms a little small. Short walk from the airport - only half a mile, but there is no sidewalk.
- Robert (8/5): Solo overnight trip - Just a quick overnight trip and room was great for a solo traveller, bed was ok but mattress was getting a bit worn out and probably needs replacing, shower was great and enjoyed the coffee and biscuits, didn’t use any of the other hotels facilities
- shannon120902 (2/5): - We stayed one night at this hotel for an event in cardiff. We paid £130 for the night for a basic room that was dirty, stained and the bathroom smelt of stale cigarette smoke. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to request another room as we had to leave quickly after arriving. The lady on reception was lovely and helpful as we arrived and the reception area was clean but the room was disgusting for the price we paid.
- Mark (10/5): Very convenient for airport - Very large room, excellent breakfast. Not busy at breakfast very relaxed!😁
- Russell (6/5): - This hotel was away from most things. You need to drive to go to a restaurant other than the one here. It's expensive too. We found a nice one reasonably priced down the street we drove to. Don't expect laundry facilities on site. One of the reasons if not the main one was to get my laundry done before I headed out. That statement is a lie. There is nothing here. I feel taken since I would have stayed somewhere else. They will take your laundry and for a fee send it out to be done. If I had that kind of money I would not be staying here. So it's OK. It's not a Hilton, maybe equal to an average hotel in the states. I wouldn't stay here again though. Seemed clean enough. Just being lied too in the advert seemed wrong to me and misleading. Lots of cars so I'd figure they don't care too much since they got your money. Wish I had a business like that. Except for I wouldn't lie. Cheers!
- Fiona (8/5): - Good price but hotel needs a little updating bathroom needed a better clean
- Ann (4/5): - It wasn’t worth the price paid massively overpriced for a live concert night. Dated vibe about the place, magnetic key card not operating room door on several occasions. One plug socket, no air conditioning, limited toiletries, under staffed one person operating bar and reception desk.
- cocoSwansea (6/5): Did the job - Stayed here night before flight from Cardiff airport.check in easy considering lady on desk was also covering the bar.room was comfortable clean.had a few drinks in bar which was nice.good sleep and also a nice breakfast .will definitely stay again
- Alan (10/5): - Was perfect for one night for Oasis concert. Breakfast was lovely.
- Daniela3162 (4/5): The rating is overrated - We stayed here because there was nothing else available due to a concert. The room was cramped but OK. The bedside lamp was covered in cobwebs and the coffee mugs and spoons were not clean. As I went into the bathroom I noticed the hand towel was wet and looked used as was the shower towel. The towels on the bed were clean though. It was impossible to get the shower to be warm, only after I opened the hot tap water to run a bath did it finally get hot. The beds were terrible but clean. We also had dinner and breakfast which were both OK. The staff seemed a little frazzled, even told a kid next to me to speak up when he didn't reply instantly. I would avoid this place.
- Eugene (6/5): - The staff were EXCEPTIONAL, but the hotel is dated and not amazing! Wasn’t cheap either. Bed wasn’t very comfortable
- Gareth (4/5): - Hotel staff were friendly upon check in and the stairways etc looked well maintained. Unfortunately this is where it ended, the room I was in was so dated it makes a premier inn look 5 star.
Rooms were VERY basic and run down. Bathroom was also very dated. The mattress on the bed was not very supportive, very bouncy and uneven. And was severely in need of an update. Also had no blackout blinds so this time of year the room was bright till late
Thankfully the rooms were clean and staff friendly and helpful.
- 220gaylee (10/5): A great stay! - We've previously stayed at this hotel and as with the previous stays, this particular one didn't disappoint either!
The hotel and rooms are spotless, the staff are extremely helpful and courteous!
We had food in the restaurant and all plates were cooked too perfection...including the steaks!
A special mention too to Isaac who works in the restaurant, what an absolute star he is...he really doesn't stop...nothing is too much trouble...he is an absolute credit to the hotel!
Would we stay again?? Absolutely and will recommend to friends and family!
- Rachel (10/5): Fantastic, but don't forget your extension lead!! - Lovely hotel, family room was clean and spacious, although there was only 1 double socket in the room being used for the TV and kettle. Luckily I took an extension lead otherwise we wouldn't have been able to charge our phones (I know, 1st world problems!)
Restaurant was lovely, cooked and continental breakfast had everything you need. Overall fantastic stay.
- colleent886 (10/5): Very good service - The service was amazing from reception staff to restaurant staff especially Sandy who went above and beyond especially for my daughter who is young the rooms are spacious and comfortable
- Colleen (10/5): - Room was spacious and clean the staff was friendly especially Sandy who went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay
- Passport03530646763 (10/5): Amazing experience at this hotel - Stayed at this hotel for a week from 22nd june 2025 staff were excellent made me and wife feel at home .nothing was a bother for them they served us to a high standard went above and beyond. Would like to say a special thanks to the chef john his food was unreal reasonable priced and good portions. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Thanks again for a memorable week all staff should be very proud of what you do
- Fay (8/5): - Nice and close to the airport
- Claire (6/5): Budget friendly - Really friendly staff and nice communal areas, nice little bar and restaurant, rooms are tired but ok given the price paid with reward points but just had a terrible nights sleep due to a lumpy mattress with springs digging in me!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Could be better - Parking was very limited the night we stayed.
The mattresses in the family room were very poor. Felt the springs and they offered no support. The size of the room was fantastic though.
Only one plug socket in the room, which was strangely upside down
The staff were very friendly
- Florentina (8/5): - Nice room and comfy
- Garry (6/5): Basic Hotel - Rooms very basic. One double socket in the room none near the bed. Very basic mattress, quite uncomfortable.
- vapestau (2/5): Gone way way down hill! - Stayed here several times but after this most recent stay this is sadly the last! Only plus point is location cos of airport. Our room was very tired and grubby and HOT we asked for a fan which they provided but didn’t cool it down, the window didn’t close properly so we had a fly in the room, the bathroom was something out of the ice age which deserves a lick of paint, tiling and new shower, bath and toilet the night porter was something out of a horror movie and quite creepy? When we went to the bar for a drink I was told I had to wait whilst he finished hoovering the carpet I mean REALLY? Last stay here for us we’ll go travel lodge or somewhere else! Not amused.
- Nick (4/5): - The staff are very nice the room was in terrible condition shower hang off and the boxing near toilet was falling apart and the bed was very uncomfortable the cleaning staff done a good job
- WAYNE (8/5): - Close to Cardiff airport - 5 min by taxi. Restaurant has good food at reasonable price. Bus service to Cardiff. We stayed there when we arrived in Cardiff plus when we departed. Property is well kept and rooms were 3 star as reported. All good for a one night stay.
- Tim (8/5): - The staff were great, they swapped my room for one on the ground floor as I have difficulty with stairs and the hotel doesn't have a lift. The bathroom extraction wasn't working and the room wasn't air conditioned. There was only a basic chair to sit on. Everything else was good.
- michaelcG2074ZF (10/5): hotel stay - my third time this year
a great place the staff
are really nice and helpful food and restaurant nice 5 mins
from the airport rooms
basic but comfortable
the bar area good also a nice beer garden the views are really nice ☺️☺️ would recommend if you need to use Cardiff airport close to Barry island train station 5 mins to take you to Cardiff and Swansea and the Gower coast only 1 hour by train
- Deborah (8/5): Good location for Cardiff airport - Friendly reception and bar staff. Very convenient for early flight from airport. Would stay again.
- Amanda (8/5): - Had a good stay room clean light and airy basic bed not as comfy as other competitors didn't use restaurants so cant comment nice and quite good prices better than competitors would stay again
- Colin (10/5): - Friendly staff excellent menu in the restaurant. To sum up-have stayed there many times never disappointed. Excellent value stop over for the airport
- 584hanab (2/5): Wouldn't stay again. - Stayed here last night, with friends who had booked for my 40th Birthday. Parking is very limited, the place in general was very tired.
We stayed in the family room, the beds werent overly comfortable but suffiecient, and even the slightest movement they moved across the floor, the carpet wasnt the cleanist either, the bathroom was awful, shower hose was split so we couldn't shower properly, the toilet was coming off the floor, and there was only 1 plug socket for 3 of us to use, we had to call down and ask for an extension lead.
The walls are paper thin, and right next to us was a group of really unpleasant people who were banging on the walls, playing loud music and shouting and swearing, when we asked them to be quiet they were threatening and telling us to meet them in the car park.
We called down to reception and Mike was very helpful, he came up and spoke to them, however after he left that made them worse.
Overall not a great experience and sadly won't be returning.
- Eirian (8/5): - It was convenient for Cardiff airport. Bed was comfortable. No hairdryer in the room which you do expect these days.
- Rosemary (10/5): Value for money - Staff were very friendly. We had an issue with our bed which was acted on immediately. Perfect base for visiting other parts of Wales.
- Antony (6/5): - Property was definately in need of an update.
Meal was ok but nothing special
- RICHARD (10/5): Great - Lovely quiet hotel, so close to airport
Late arrival and perfect service
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - The hotel was convenient for the airport and the service was excellent. The food was good quality and served hot. The only reason we marked it down was because our room was very tired! The bathroom needed a refurb and the bed made a noise when you sat in it. Also the room was really cold. If these were fixed then I’d stay there again.
- sarahvI3197YK (10/5): Airport hotel perfection - Great hotel. Free parking, lovely staff. A little tired but clean and funtional.
Didn't have breakfast but it smelt lovely. Location perfect for airport. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great hot shower. Would stay again and probably will
- mickeyandminniemad (8/5): Fine for an overnight stop - We stayed one night in a family room before our flight from Cardiff airport the following day. The room was large with a double, 2 singles and a sofa. There were plenty of teabags and biscuits etc on the amenity tray. Check in was quick and pleasant. The rooms are a little bit dated, but they were clean and the beds comfy. It’s very close to the airport, so no traffic worries if you have an early flight.
- Amanda (8/5): Pleasant stay - Lovely night stay, room was comfy and spacious. The staff were brilliant friendly and polite, I had the best chicken wings I've ever had the main and dessert were average but fairly priced, would definitely stay again.
- karenpN536ED (10/5): Friendly, hotel so convenient convenient for Cardiff Airport - Lovely hotel located so near Cardiff Airport. Rooms are basic, which is reflected in price but honestly such a convenient place to stay the night before an early flight. Rooms are clean. Used on numerous occasions when we have an early flight. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Always have food and a few drinks in the resteraunt. Lots of choice and well cooked. I've sent a few negative reviews and each to their own but I would recommend you give it a try.
- Hazel (6/5): - Needs a refurb
- Kim (2/5): - The room was extremely tired,I wouldn't take a shower has it was dirty, more like an hostel than hotel ,it really needs cleaning and decorating, booked in for breakfast only to be told later that there was no chef ,but we were asked if we would like to purchase the breakfast bag which contained an hot bacon egg and sausage bun yogurt cereal bar ,muffin and an apple ,wow, the next door neighbours dog where I live constantly barks ,all the time and annoys me and I still wouldn't have been cruel enough to feed it what they gave me ,the only saving grace was the 3 members of staff I met were lovely and helpful ,after complaining about the breakfast bag we were told we wouldn't have to pay for it,,I certainly wouldn't stay here again,do yourself a favour if there is nowhere else you can get a room, sleep in your car
- Russell (10/5): Great overnight stay - Very friendly staff very good breakfast (additional charge) large clean room although dated.
- Ian (8/5): International weekend - Went to watch the Rugby with my son - great venue to meet up at and then easy to park up and grab a taxi into Cardiff - staff all very helpful and whilst Wales lost to Ireland the weekend was fabulous and the stay was excellent, the cooked breakfast the next morning before our drives home was especially welcome .
- Alison (6/5): - The hotel staff are friendly and helpful especially the lady at evening reception who went above and beyond to provide excellent service. The hotel is quite dated and we could hear and lot of noise from our room but overall value for money.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Lovely stay would definitely book again and the food was amazing in taste and value
- Tina (10/5): - The staff were great
The room was large and comfortable
The food was good
Close to airport !
- NeilMat (6/5): Misrepresentation of actual hotel - The photos on the website are NOT a true representation of what the rooms are like.
Yes, the hotel is a £7 taxi ride to the airport.
Room was cold when I entered but had a fan heater to warm it up. Heating appears to be on a timer as wasn't on all the time. Also the appearance of the room is cold too [see picture], nothing on the walls. Only 1 double plug socket with USB plugs too for the whole room.
No form of heating in bathroom. Shower was okay, a corner unit style.
Didn't have the cooked breakfast but looked good. Okay spread of continental breakfast. Only small cups for coffee.
- Huw (10/5): - Staff very helpful and attentive
- Godelieve (8/5): - Although the room was dated, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No frills, but VERY reasonably priced for what you are getting.
- Rachel (8/5): - Friendly staff, easy check in. Clean rooms. Hot shower with good pressure. Good in-room wifi. As advertised, and got what we paid for.
- Margaret (10/5): - Poor lighting outside
- Dorian (10/5): Great stay and location - Stayed here a few times ,so convenient for Cardiff Airport, staff so friendly and helpful, Amazing food ,looking forward to my next stay there .
- bishopstongirl (10/5): Good and convenient for the airport - Very convenient for Cardiff Airport if you’ve got an early flight. Clean, courteous staff and less than a minute from the entrance to airport. The reception is covered by a receptionist 24 hours, which is another plus as you don’t have to worry about entering the hotel electronically.
- Daryl (10/5): - After our holiday nice to relax before driving home following day
- sheilacE341MN (10/5): Overnight stay - Lovely friendly staff, very helpful and welcoming. They went that extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. Nice big clean room with comfy bed. Overnight stay for flight. Room lovely and warm and clean.
Parking available, easily accessibke for airport, 15 min walk or approx £7 for taxi one way. Definitely stay here again.
- Joanne (10/5): Best hotel - Excellent staff , cant do enough for you , spotlessly clean throughout , stunning food , good selection of drinks , rooms lovely and comfortable , 2 minutes away from airport .
- 021molly (6/5): Simple - This accommodation was ok, probably the one thing that they needed to do is change the mattress. We could feel the springs in our beds. I wanted to say something each night we were so exhausted and fell asleep quite fast, even with the springs poking into mainly our legs. Otherwise I would of complained and asked for a new room. Besides that everything else was really good, eg service, food at the bar and its location.
- W1627XAjeffd (10/5): A great find - Was over from Ireland to see my football team and as we had an early morning flight booked from Cardiff Airport I booked a family room for me and my two grandsons.
The room was huge with two single beds in one corner and a big double bed in the corner . There was a nice two seater sofa in the middle of the room and a chair with the long desk and really good tea making facilities ( loved the biscuits ) there is a decent sized tv which is great to view from the sofa.
The receptionists were so friendly too.
I will certainly make this hotel my default when flying from Cardiff.
- Sean (6/5): - The property is in need of some modernisation and general refurb. There were no sockets near the bed or the kettle and no hairdryer.
- Edward (8/5): - Friendly staff and very helpful with arranging transportation. Located on a very busy road with no sidewalks. Shrub lined highway made a taxi necessary for the otherwise 15 min walk to the airport. a good spot for use with the airport , otherwise quite isolated from anything else.
- HabitualHotelLurker (10/5): Lovely Friendly Airport Hotel - The staff make this hotel. They are so lovely and friendly.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Some people have complained in the past about the central heating not being on, but you can get a blow heater from reception. I support this, it is a small business after all and they need to look out for overheads.
Breakfast is brilliant and in a very nice room with the BBC on TV.
All in all, a great place to stay near the airport. Barry town is a short bus ride away.
- Dominic (8/5): - Location is great, not long from the airport. Food here is amazing. The only problem we had was on Expedia it states about a free bus shuttle from the hotel to the airport, this is no longer available and was informed by reception that it hasn't been a thing since beginning of covid so Expedia need to update this. Also normal busses from Cardiff airport do not go to the hotel anymore, you can catch a bus from the hotel across the road but not from the airport to the hotel. The busses drop you off by the now closed holiday express but have to walk over a long stretch of grass which is right next to the main road with no pavement.. this isn't convenient especially if it's raining and you've got 2 big suitcases, which was exactly our situation. Luckily a taxi driver saw us and gave us a lift for free to the hotel. Other than this it's a great place to stay and in my opinion not really expensive to say it's very close to the airport.
- BelfastSupermum (10/5): Oasis in midst of chaos - Can I just say a huge thanks to the staff on duty on Sunday 20th October. You warmly welcomed a group of very tired and hungry people , after our flight was diverted to Cardiff instead of Dublin
We were forced to sort our own accommodation and thanks to one of our group we managed to scource rooms at your hotel
Everyone was welcoming and helpful. The lovely barman even came in from home. The hotel doesn’t open the restaurant on Sundays but we were given details of local take away companies so we all tucked into pizza and glass of wine in the dining room.
Choice of breakfast next morning before a hasty ( if somewhat scary ) walk back to the airport. Unfortunately there were no taxis an available and the bus came but didn’t stop at airport ! It’s definitely walkable. Only took us 15 minutes but with no footpath and a busy road it’s not recommended especially at 8:30 !
However we had somewhere to sleep and relax after a traumatic flight and if you need accommodation close to airport worth checking out ! Not five star , but clean beds and quiet room more than enough for our “ emergency” stop over.
- Dennis (10/5): - Excellent staff and dining! Thank you!
- Thomas (8/5): - Good people, great food, comfortable bed. Could have used a power outlet near the head of the bed & a place to put the soap in the shower, but otherwise, a good experience & super convenient!
- Laura (10/5): - Certainly didnt expect such a great stay from an airport hotel
Will certainly be using this hotel again
- John (8/5): - Correspondence and professionalism very good, welcoming and very helpful.
Will stay again when flying from Cardiff
- Svetlana (8/5): - close to thearoport , its good
- Gary (6/5): - Used as a base for trip to Barry/Rhoose and perfect for that. Nothing within walking distance tho. Would be perfect for the airport as the name suggests. Staff really helpful. Breakfast at £9.50 a must have.
- Natalie (8/5): - We used this hotel to go and visit Barry. Lovely hotel great to have parking for free.
