Guest Reviews
- RICHARD (10/5): I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again if am visiting the Hopi reservation. - The best feature of this hotel is its location, in the middle of the Hopi reservation, thereby giving one a feel for the area and the people who live there. It is small and quiet--not a lot of bustling around going on. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. When my guide did not show up as planned, the staff helped me find another guide, who gave me a wonderful walking tour of Walpi Village. With the words "Cultural Center" in its name, I was expecting significant displays and information about the Hopis. Unfortunately, the facility has very little information like that available.
- Linda (4/5): Enjoyed local galleries, but was very disappointed in the cultural center & accommodations. - Hopi people very nice and friendly. No TV - took an hour to fix (1 plug dead); no warm/hot water in sink; opaque window covering only. Noone on-site past 8:00 p.m. - only drive-by security; did not feel safe.
Gift shops not open in afternoon. Dinner only until 7:00 p.m. Center really misses the mark to educate people about Hopi culture; museum of black and white photos not informative.
- BROWN (1/5): Very unpleasant and will not stay there again. Too expensive for what was offered. - Food was decent. Need more servers, service was slow and limited menu. Bathroom sink only had cold water. Not enough electrical outlets. Had only 1 lamp and wobbly insecure chair had to be moved to read book. TV didn't work and had to be repaired. Not safe, no on-site personnel after 8 pm for security or any other needs. Floors dirty and no rugs to walk on.

Super aardige mensen! De douche werd erg langzaam warm.
- Roberta (8/5): Encantadora - A reserva Hopi é encantadora. Vale a pena pois a experiência deste lugar é única!
- Martin (6/5): We voelden ons niet echt welkom - Locatie Beperkte klantgerichtheid
- DANIEL (4/5): - Clean No amenities and nothing around to help get them. Make sure you're ready for that or get here before 6 pm.
- Rocky (10/5): Excellent stay - Friendly staff very welcoming! N/a
- evalyn (6/5): Certainly a nice (and the only) place to rest if your intention is to explore First and Second Mesa - Food in the restaurant was meh, but I say that because I am a vegetarian and there wasn't much of a selection. There was some confusion at reception finding room keys, which wasn't a big deal except it meant the room we would have preferred was not available. Since we only stayed one night it didn't really matter.

- Serpani (10/5): Thank you 😊 - Everyone was very helpful and it is a very good accomodation
- Hess (5/5): The place needs an upgrade. - The location to the election office. The was restaurant not open, the staff was barely there, the hvac didn’t work right, not enough outlets.

- Pauleen (8/5): Perfect stop over . Please support Kohn who sells the blankets outside and hear his story . - Staff are nice . Laid back and good communication Having to leave .
- Isabel (9/5): Beautiful place with a great restaurant - The Hopi Cultural Center has a special atmosphere which I liked a lot. The restaurant was great - good food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere - and I had interesting conversations with the staff in the gift shop and the silver smith who is located in the cultural center. I also liked the architecture and the patio as well as the view into the landscape. The room was basic, but very clean and comfortable and quiet. Wifi worked well. I was a bit afraid of the dogs that were hanging around, although they seemed harmless after all. I would have liked to visit the museum, but it didn't open in the morning.
- LaraGutierrez (9/5): It was nice. - No comment, close for breakfast. Restaurant was closed!
- Louise (6/5): - No coffee or breakfast on Sunday mornings
- Teresa (8/5): A window into the Hopi landscape and culture. -
- Bruce (10/5): Comfortable - Great location and comfortable stay!
- Allen (1/5): Same as above, in the dislike. - Location. The office closes at 7:30 PM. The 480 Zip contact number on the door said the person you are calling is not available. Spoke with the people who clean the restaurant, and they called the manager—waiting 30 minutes for the manager to show up. According to the manager, the people closing up were supposed to call those who had not check in the Hotel will put a box on the room door knob with the key in it, the box has a comination that will be given to the customer over the phone, which did not happen, I did not receive a call or text informing me of the box with the key at my room. The key given to me by the manager did not work well to open the room door.
The room had two lamps between the beds, which were not enough to light the room. The heater/cooler would not heat above 65 degrees. I had leg cramps all night. The bathtub does not drain well—paper-thin towels.
The restaurant served two boiled eggs that we spoiled. They tasted sour. The server took the eggs back, and the cooks told her the eggs had been in a bag. Were the spoiled eggs from yesterday? I will never stay here again or stop at the restaurant to eat.

- Joseph (2/5): - Was on the road with limited service. Arrived to check in around 10:30-11 to find out there’s no staff available. Was forced to sleep in my vehicle.
- Douglas (7/5): -
- Kristine (10/5): - A unique olace to stay on our way to the Grand Canyon. lean, quiet, and a nice restaurant with a selection of Hopi food.
- Charles (10/5): - This property is great if you are in the area. It's got a restaurant so it is super convenient and the staff is extremely friendly.
- Daryl (2/5): - Expedia website led me to believe hotel was located in Tuba City. The address given is actually 50miles away at some mile marker on a highway.
- Micol (6/5): - La camera non è male, purtroppo non si chiudeva bene la porta. Staff super disponibile. L'esterno non è curato.
- FREDERICK (8/5): - My reservation was for a Sunday evening. On my calendar reminder it's said, "check in by 7:30 pm". I missed that in the confirmation it said to notify them when we were arriving. Since we hadn't notified them, no one was available to check us in. We even went to town and asked for help and also to a large event happening that day and they made an announcement to the person responsible for keeping us in. No luck. So we had to go somewhere else for the night. We paid the $129 and couldn't get into the room. We still recommend the place but if you reserve, be aware of the instructions to notify them if your arrival, maybe particularly on Sunday when the restaurant is closed.
- Deborah (9/5): - Restaurant, staff friendly, good beds Dogs barking at night
- Vicki (8/5): - Quiet, helpful staff and good food.
- alexis (4/5): Décevant car musée et boutique fermée contrairement aux informations reçues auparavant. -
- Giovanna (10/5): - Clean property and rooms with friendly staff❤️ Im dreaming of next time...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A very nice stay with lots of friendly folks working there and at the restaurant.
- Danah (10/5): - We really enjoyed our two night stay here. Staff was awesome, restaurant was delicious. Beautiful courtyard. Great place to stop and rest.
- Edwin (6/5): - Property is obviously on the Hopi Indian reservation. We stayed here 2 night. Things we liked: friendly staff and Hopi Culture abound. Food at the restaurant was good and plentiful. Rooms were clean and quiet but mattresses were only ok. The facility was not adequately staffed which unfortunately showed. There were few services available at the facility. The Hopi Museum was closed. There is no bar abd alcohol sold or allowed at the center. The Gift shop had wonderful Hopi made gifts but no snack type food, soft drinks or convience items. Stray "Rez" dogs wandered the facility. They were sweet and non threatening. Staff again was great and did their best.
- Mya (7/5): Basically the only option to stay on the Hopi Reservation. - It was located on the Hopi Reservation. It had friendly staff and good food. It lacked any atmosphere or charm.
- Holly (10/5): - Staff was friendly.
- Monica N. (10/5): - Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, delicious food
- Debra (6/5): Pleasant - Staff is very helpful Next door girls were very loud. Not the fault of the HCC.
- Beyonce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (10/5): - Nice, and welcoming staff.
- Lee (3/5): The location is remote so lack of restaurant is a problem. No good alternatives. - The location is good if you are visiting Hopi…no viable alternatives. There is little to do or see there unless you know people. Restaurant closed on Sunday, nearest hot food about an hour drive away. Grocery/convenience store about a 15 minute drive. Office closed on Sunday. Restaurant closes early (6:45). A lamp didn’t work and the room was dark. Curtains had holes worn in them.
- Shona (8/5): Disappointing - NA We had our own No interaction/education of the Hopi people, their culture; their way of life
We were told by reception that there was a dancing competition nearby- ended being 30mins away- but we were denied entry as we are not Native American. The advertised stores & guides in the Cultural Centre car park were 2 little stalls & no guides available for a tour. A long way for very little enlightenment.
- Kendra (2/5): Do Better HOPI CULTURAL CENTER!! - On the day I was to check in, i knew it wouldn’t be after front desk hours, which is 8:30 pm. I called just after 4pm, which is check-in time, to let them know that I had reserved a room and that it would be a very late check in. I was told that it wasn’t a problem and that there would be a security lock with the key inside. I was given the 4 digit “code” to the lock. During my call with the front desk, I wasn’t given any information on how to open the lock nor was I given any assurance that there would be assistance if I needed it. After a long and tiring day I arrived at my room with my family. It was after 11pm. The door had the lock (pictured) with the only instructions, hand written and barely legible. That’s it!! I didn’t get any type of instructions on how to open the lock. I could not get into my room!! There was no one to call for help because I wasn’t given any information when I called. I tried numerous attempts to open the lock. My family lives locally so I called my sister for help and she couldn’t open the lock either. So I had the idea to use google and YouTube to show me how to open the lock. It worked but it was so annoying to have to go thru all that and at that time of night. What’s even more annoying is when I finally got into the room, there was a piece of paper (pictured) from the hotel with the front desk hours and a NUMBER for assistance after 8:30pm. This number could’ve came in handy when I needed it.
- Abigail (8/5): - The room itself was extremely clean, freshly painted and re-floored. I had everything I needed including a nice big mini fridge. They had extra blankets in the room but I could have used another hand towel or washcloth.
Wi-Fi and TV were good. Bed was very soft, probably needing to be replaced. The property is pretty quiet, fairly typical for the reservation. Make sure to call or book ahead of time as the front desk is not available after 8:00. Restaurant is closed on Sunday, but food in the morning was good.
- Kendra (2/5): - My stay at The Hopi Culturally Center was not what I expected for the price I paid for the room. First of all, what hotel doesn’t have a night audit person or maintenance that can be reached thru their hotel system.
Check in is at 4pm and I checked in between 4-5. I
- Joseph (10/5): Great Stay - Always great to stay at the Hopi Cultural Center. This is about my eighth stay over the years and the customer service is always excellent. The restaurant is always good and the wait staff is great. The fact it is not a "chain" nor a five-star hotel, doesn't take away from the friendly staff, cleanliness of the rooms, and beautiful surrounding areas.
- Laurel (10/5): - Wonderful service…very nice linens…perfectly clean
- Modina (10/5): - Always a great stay and so is the staff.
- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant hotel, nice staff - The room was a nice size, fairly large. Note that a "Queen room" appears to have a single full-size bed, which we didn't expect, so they moved us to a double with two full beds. Staff were kind. Room refrigerator was a nice size, and the microwave came in handy. Restaurant was pleasant with decent food. Hotel staff connected us with local tour guides, one of whom gave us a wonderful private tour of the Hopi reservation. Bedding could be improved. Don't count on the restaurant being open when you expect, and since there are not any other restaurants nearby, bring snacks just in case. Bathtub had a constant drip. Could use more electrical outlets near the beds.
- linda sue (6/5): - I found the staff was very friendly at the motel and at the restaurant . The food was good and I tried the Native Taco which was very good.

- Pearl (8/5): - The atmosphere and the location
- P (8/5): It was very clean, people are nice. minor complaints. I do not mind bringing my own snacks/coffee - The rooms are very clean, Staff is friendly and helpful
The 3 rez dogs were scary at first but are nice and kept me company Could use more coffee and sugar lol, I ran out of toilet paper,
I wish the restaurant was open on Sunday
and a small convivence store/section with snacks would be awesome
- John (10/5): - Very comfortable room and cultural centre has character relevant to the Hopi culture which is very interesting. Staff very helpful and food in restaurant very good.
I arrived one hour early but staff helpful in allowing me to check in early.
- Francine (6/5): - Nice staff
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -

- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Devin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kelly (8/5): Very convenient to my work on the Hopi reservation - Very clean. Big room, very helpful staff. Restaurant on premises. All the amenities… Soaps, coffees, water, microwave, good size refrigerator. Heater worked well. Plenty of hot water, it just takes a second to warm up.
- Stetson (10/5): Exceptional - The most magical and powerful place to explore and expand you personal journey. Amazing people and artists! Complete silence
- Bethany (5/5): I probably won’t stay again. - Every appliance and lamp was unplugged. I had a hard time figuring things out on the dark. No staff on duty, as it was Dec. 23. No restaurant available for the same reason.
- Christian (2/5): Bad book keeping or scamming? - We drove here from Monument Valley and there was no one around when we arrived at about 3:30 PM- it was a ghost town. I walked around and knocked on doors with no luck. I also tried calling their phone # which was disconnected.
We dawdled for at least an hour to see if an employee would show up but it started getting late so we headed to Tuba City and got a room at the Navajoland Hotel which was great.
Hotels.com comped our room that night after I explained that we had driven hours out of our way to see and stay at Second Mesa, which ended up being a less than ideal use of time since we couldn’t stay there.
Lo and behold, the Hopi Cultural Center still charged me for the room! Today is December 18 and the charge still hasn’t been resolved. Hotels.com and I have received conflicting stories: they told me they’ll credit the charge, but hotels.com that they contacted me with check-in instructions, which was a lie. Maybe you could have a good experience here if you work with the right person, but I recommend using cash.
- Dianna (10/5): - Great hotel restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, just good people!! I’m very comfortable every time I stay!!!
- Kelly (4/5): Disappointing - Close to where I was working Not many other people around-
- Tye (10/5): - Good, clean room. Very convenient where there are no other motels. The Hopi staff was very kind.
- Tony (8/5): Great base for a visit -
- Eugenia (10/5): Hiking It - Location near guided hike.
- Benjamin (2/5): - No room service. Everything was closed Sunday. Window shades poorly installed. Door was hard to open and close. No room number on door. No night security.
- William (10/5): - We had a nice time. Very authentically retro.
- Cynthia (6/5): Meh - Sink was clogged and I have no idea if there actually was hot water. It was a cold night and I ran the water for 10 minutes and got no hot. That seemed like a big waste of water to me. And sink clogged so I had to brush into the shower See above meh
- Suzanne (8/5): - It is in the Hopi nation, and I wanted learn about their culture. Unfortunately, the cultural center was not open and I had to leave. Maybe another time.
- Jessica (10/5): - Located on the Hopi Reservation, its a great stopping place if youre exploring this remote part of Arizona.
- Keith (10/5): - Staff was friendly. On Sunday evening, the restaurant was not open for dinner.
- Astrid (10/5): Sunny, nice people and place! - Nice staff and a very nice site, loved the silvery sellers outside and the atmosphere. I missed yoghurt and omelette for breakfast.
- Peggy (8/5): - Room was very clean and comfortable. Restaurant was not as good. Very friendly but food just adequate.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional - Super place in an incredible location! Fantastic quality and standard
