- Brennan (10/5): It’s not often you find the perfect place to stay , but we did - This is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at . A beautiful building , impeccably clean, perfect location(10 mins walk into Victoria ) affordable car hire available onsite ,2 great restaurants within walking distance ( Marie antoinette& moloko) super friendly staff , giant tortoise in the gardens ..Great breakfast ,When I come back I’ll Stay here again . Everything

- Jurga (8/5): Convenient location - Generally, fine hotel, close to Victoria downtown and to Botanical Gardens – both reachable on foot. Hotel is clean, safe, service is very nice. Breakfast is commendable, too. For those who rent cars, there is convenient parking in the courtyard. The hotel even owns several giant tortoises, so these who wish to see these animals need not to go to other places if they want to see it. Of negatives, there is strongish smell of sewer in the bathrooms, but not as bad as to permeat to the room.
- Alicia (7/5): Bien.
- Daniel (10/5): Clean, nice room, great service and location central - Service and location Nothing
- Ali (9/5): Great place to explore capital. - Perfect for exploring Victoria and close to bus stops. Lovely balcony area and grounds. Nice breakfast. Lovely restaurant Marie Antoinette is a short walk away. Room is a little compact, although has everything you need.
- Corneliu (7/5): Beautiful villa with a lovely terrace with a view but two small room for two persons - The room is in a beautiful colonial villa, with parking, a tortoise garden and a terrace with an enchanting view of the harbour. Nice Nepali staff cleaning every day and ready to help out with anything one needs. What is there not to like? See next: The room size! Way too small for two people. Hardly possible to open one small suitcase, let alone two, of which one is large size. Suitable for one person but not for two and not at the paid price. We stayed in two more accommodations in Mahe and they were large apartments at much lower prices ...
- Lars Kabus (8/5): - Nettes sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, tolle Aussicht.
- Charles (8/5): - Very clean, comfortable, short walk (but steep) to centre of Victoria and excellent internet, although shower pressure and temperature sometimes too low. Food options limited, but had an excellent fish curry.
- Conny (8/5): Angenehmer Aufenthalt - Für ein Stadthotel top Lage!
- Fabrice (7/5): -
- Jean Marie (9/5): nice - Very nice and friendly hotel near the town center all ok
- Ľubica (9/5): Superb - Bel Air hotel is very well located in walking distance from downtown, market and bus station. It is more suitable for business travellers than typical tourists but we wanted to spend an active holidays and for this purpose the facility was perfect. We traveled everyday to a different beach around all island as from main bus station buses go everywhere. Breakfast was simple but sufficient and the stuff was amazingly helpful and kind. We were offered early check-in at arrival and we had the equipment at our disposal even after checkout while waiting for the evening flight. Many thanks for great time. 🙂
- Eleyi (10/5): My family nd I had a great time - The Mountain View is surreal
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mpho (8/5): Very good -
- Aniel (8/5): - The view is amazing from the upper balcony. It's a good cardio exercise the walk to and from town. Good value for money.
- Lal (7/5): Good -
- Harish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dudley (8/5): Convenient comfortable downtown guesthouse - Delicious breakfast, lovely fresh chilled fruit. But why charge extra for egg and bacon, at that price? Tv didn’t work, should have been checked before arrival
- Aksha (8/5): Affordable & Accommodating - Convenient with ample parking, Friendly Staff & Accommodating NAD
- Peter (7/5): Good - The staff The breakfast
- Nigel (10/5): Perfect. - Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. The rooms were cleaned immaculately every day. Location was great, although recommend having a car. Rental available at hotel is required. NA.
- Paolo (8/5): Very good - For us the very good location between airport and close to the harbor to take the ferry was key. The room was very clean. We arrived at 10pm due to the flight timetable and informed the structure of our “late” arrival (check-in closes at 9:30pm). However we stayed 20 minutes in the road waiting for someone to open, no one picking up the phone. Finally, someone driving by who knew someone called and they let us in. This was unpleasant.
- Tobias (8/5): Nice small hotel - Nice for some days on Mahe, Victoria or for business. Short way down to town.
Good bed.
SomeTV channels, one for each big casual language.
Very kind and helpful staff! Sometimes noisy from inside and outside.
Some big land turtles in small area :( not sure if it is animal friendly. Hope they are well.
- Anikó (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nico (10/5): Perfect hotel close to Victoria - Close walk to Victoria, amazing mattress, spacious room, friendly staff, even take Amex for payment, quiet and tranquil.
- Wojciech (8/5): A good fine hotel - The staff was nice and the facilities were fine. Nothing mind-blowing but also not much to complain about! The location was not ideal unless you have a car.
- Muhammed (5/5): Passable - Staff was good The location is not at all good for people don't have the car. It is on a hill and very difficult to reach by walk from victoria. The rent a car provided by hotel is very old one and making too much noise while driving
- Marco (8/5): Enjoyable stay - The building and the grounds are impeccably maintained, all very clean inside and outside. Lovely garden around with plenty of chairs to sit, and available parking spaces. The balcony on the 1st floor has a nice view towards the port and the islands, and with a pleasant breeze it is a great spot to spend time. The room was of decent size though not exactly big, but well equipped, beds are comfortable. Towels and bedlinen changed daily. Breakfast was ok (one glass of fruit juice, 2 slices of toast with butter and jam, eggs and fruit). Staff courteous and helpful. They offer a car rental service, which is convenient. Location is 10 minutes walk to the city centre, the area seems safe to walk at night, but it's uphill so if you have heavy luggage you'd better call a taxi. The room was in front of a road that has heavy traffic from 6-7am until late at night, and is therefore rather noisy and exposed to the exhaust fumes from the passing vehicles. The car they gave me as rental was pretty old and not that cheap compared to competitors.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The Hotel is a very nice building embedded in a nicely and neat garden. The turtles behind the hotel are a real eyecatcher, as old as the hotel.
The staff was super friendly and helpfull! The location is not the best, but with an amazing view over victoria and into the "mountains".
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Maximilian (9/5): Superb - Perfect service and a really kind host. Beautiful garden with tortoises and native birds around.
- MJ (8/5): Great short stay location for Victoria, Mahe. - Short stay in this nicely located and charming hotel near downtown Victoria.
- Eva (10/5): sorry had to stay just the one night because my flight was delayed a day - liked small hotel and enjoyed the tortoises. Staff very pleasant and accommodating.
- Siunmc (7/5): Could do more to make this stay , even if its a stopover, more memorable. - Very convenient for walking into Victoria.
Lovely people, very welcoming Very cramped room. Bulbs blown. No hangars in wardrobe. Felt a little claustrophobic after a long flight. Breakfast a little less than exciting. Did not like the tiny enclosure for the giant tortoises. It can't be right to keep them like this. This really put us off.
- Marcel (9/5): Superb -
- Kati (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriel (8/5): Very good -
- Mickaaa17 (9/5): 1 night stay in Victoria - We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff working in the hotel couldn't do enough to help and welcome us. We arrived early and as the room was ready, they allowed an early check-in for us, which was great as we could change and prepare for the full day exploring. Similarly, on the day we were leaving the property stored our bags for us and allowed us to use shower to refresh before our travel back home.
Property is about 10-15 mins walk to Victoria (depending if you go up or down hill :)) and about 15-20 mins to the Botanical gardens, the opposite direction.
As we only stayed for one night, the room was adequate although on the smaller side - the air-conditioning in the room was great. The bathroom could do with a facelift
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne-laure (9/5): Great place in Victoria - Everything was fantastic! The host is absolutely lovely, breakfast is delicious and facilities are great. Gorgeous view, I definitely recommend this place. And the tortoises are a great addition! Nothing to report.
- 265kareno (8/5): Friendly, Exceptionally clean home from home ! - Stayed for 1 week on a business trip, initially I was disappointed there wasn’t a pool but truly the way this little hotel is so thoughtfully managed with care made up for it.
Nothing & I mean nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff which was a absolute delight, the cleanliness is exceptional & better than I have found in high end hotels.
Breakfast (we had the continental option) was fresh & served timely when you arrived which was great for us as we were on a time schedule as we were there for work but you were never rushed so if on vacation it would also be suitable.
The rooms I would not describe as large but are entirely adequate the decor is not modern but is in keeping for the building & also you have a fridge which is great to keep a supply of chilled drinks etc & there is a small supermarket within walking distance. The bed was comfy & I had dual aspect windows with a view down to the harbour which was beautiful.
There is a lovely little balcony seated area on the first floor which has the same view.
The Hotel is set on the hill so I would recommend hiring a car which can be done through the hotel & it has a car park with electronic security gates.
The Hotel also have some permanent guests……. 5 Giant Tortoise which are amazing !
You always imagine everywhere is the Seychelles being high end luxury but don’t count this out if your on a budget & plan to explore its within easy reach of Victoria & only minute’s from Eden island in the car.
I would stay here again for business without hesitation.
Ps- Did I mention the cleanliness it was amazing & we’ll worth mentioning again 👏👏👏 !!
- 492isaacz (10/5): Excellent staff, great location - We reached Bel Air hotel by chance, as our original reservation was cancelled by another hotel. The receptionist received us with a great smile and was willing to help in any request. The hotel is in a great location, 10 minutes walk from the city's center and a great view of the bay. The hotel is impeccably clean. The rooms are a bit small. Breakfast was very good. We were allowed a late check out (15:30) without any extra cost. My wife had a medical problem and the hotel's owner's son took us to hospital and back and were very helpful. Great experience.
- Maps00991504637 (8/5): A charming small hotel, nice personnel and good service - Very happy to have been there, if only for 4 days; all the personnel are great, ready to help with anything. It was also great to meet the owner who told us some great stories about the hotel history and about Victoria town in general.
A great place for a short business stay, very close to the city center, a nice view from the top floor terrace, very clean and cozy.
- 783reyb (10/5): Short notice business trip - This place is a hidden gem. All the big name hotels were full and not very accommodating. The Bel Air hotel was close to my work site, which made daily life much easier. I had a reservation but my 2 colleagues did not. I spoke with the manager and the owner and they were able to accommodate my 2 colleagues for 7 nights with no notice. No other hotel would even try help us. The owner and his wife were wonderful people. The would come to the lobby and chat several times a week. Great personal service that even the big hotels do not provide. The manager was also great. He worked around our schedule to provide us with what ever we needed. I would highly recommend the Bel Hotel if you ever come to the Seychelles.
- thejudgeDerby (10/5): Excellent Charming Boutique Hotel in Victoria - Charming small and friendly hotel ideal for accessing Victoria and a bus ride away from Bau Vallon. Located on the hill in a quiet part of town. Characterful hotel with views over the sea. staff were excellent- friendly and attentive. The owner, Roland and his wife also always avaiable to help. Simple fresh breakfasts served in outdoor covered dining area with fruit, yoghurt, toast and tea/coffe. Very good dinners and the chef cooked a special Sri Lankan curry one night. The rooms are spotless with aircon, tea and coffee. Comfotable lounge area and outdoor seating to sit and take in the evening breeze. The hotel is just a short walk from Victoria.
- Hang (8/5): Bel air hotel stay March 2018 - Very accommodating staff, Jaya who did the check in and daily breakfast service was very nice. Rooms clean, WiFi excellent. Wonderful stay and would come back.
- Raymond (10/5): - Bon rapport qualité-prix. Personnel très à l'écoute et sympathique.
- pixie (6/5): Hotel - Hotel clean nice shower and fridge. Helpful staff.
- georgie (8/5): - Comfortable and friendly place to stay convenient to the town with a great calf workout
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Gepflegtes Hotel mit schönem Garten. Aufmerksames Personal. Sehr sauber.
- harshalR30 (10/5): Small chic hotel - As mentioned it's smart chic hotel ...very good staff and very good location too ...I was very happy staying there ... rooms are small but well planned ...nice scenetic view from 1st floor rooms...the Main Street is 10 mins away from the hotel...they have cars available on rent too ...liquor shop near by available
- Francois (6/5): - Reasonably well situated for a business trip if you do not require being on the coast. On a hill overlooking Victoria, it is easy enough to walk down to town through a shortcut and easy to get a taxi for the ride up (the climb is steep!) However, I find it overpriced for the services offered, comfort and condition compared to similar hotels in the area.
- SWLondonRichardp (8/5): Comfortable, clean and well situated. - Our room was very comfortable. Choice of air conditioning or fan. Good shower and beautiful tiles in the bathroom. TV Wifi and plenty of storage. Staff were very attentive. Lovely breakfast. If you hire a car this is well situated overlooking the town of Victoria.
- valericaemir (4/5): terrible - Was very painful, the owner is keeping in a very small space 7 turtles, poor animals are not having their freedom...you can hear from the room how are mating 5-8 times a day...the staff are working more than 10+ hours a day...from 7:30am till 22:00pm you'll be served by the same employee...the room where I have stayed was so small, my luggage I couldn't open no space...you can't turn around in the room...the owner not keeping his promises, he had charged me extra money before I checked-out, the room before I checked in he promised a specific price but than when I checked out he had added every day another €10 euros...so I just said its not fair the deal was different ...and...very bad internet....so if I 'll stay again there ...NOO!!!!! but...it's clean : thanks for very hard working staff...if you noticed all other attached comments are about cleanness...nothing else...
- PiersG (8/5): Good. - When you stay, have a look in the back for the turtles - all 8 of them. A lovely little place on the hillside. The decor is good and well maintained, the staff are really nice and friendly. A fruit breakfast in the morning is a lovely way to start the day, the milk however made the tea taste of vanilla - not always a bad thing, just a little unexpected.
The room was small and a little noisy at rush hour - the busses and heavy goods vehicles make a bit of a noise when they go past.
I will stay again when I find myself in the Seychelles again.
I liked it.
- ChrisHowell1951 (8/5): Chris Howell - Nice clean modern hotel with views down into town - 5 minutes to walk down into town / 7 minutes to walk back up the hill to the hotel. Very friendly and efficient manager - Theo . Good wifi which is very unusual after the islands of Praslin & le digue.
- JoanneC2746 (10/5): Conference and traveling - We had wonderful vacation to stay 5 days in Hotel Bel Air. All staffs are a friendly, nice and professional and they always ask us how is your trip to explore today. The price of rooms, facilities and service are highly recommend for Victoria travelers. The location is very convenient.
Yin and Joanne from Taiwan 2016,11,21 😊😊😊
- Penguinatlaw (10/5): a wonderful stay - We stayed here three nights and enjoyed it so much. Because I can't easily walk up stairs, we were given a large, comfortable room in a building in the back. The bathroom was amazing, with a fabulous shower. I wish I had one like it at home!
Owner and staff were welcoming and helpful. the owner lives on the property so he is there to keep an eye on things.
The wi-fi was wonderful and I really appreciated and enjoyed it. Breakfast was continental only, and I need protein to avoid hypoglycemia, and there is an extra charge for eggs, etc. The charge is a bit high, as these are expensive islands, so after the first day I brought my own cheese from a market in town and ate it with my toast. the room has a small refrigerator, so it was easy to keep cheese and extra water.
the hill to get to and from the bus or into town was more than I could handle, so the staff called us taxis and the price was somewhat reasonable. to get to the airport there is a way to drive up the hill and avoid the traffic in town, so it was a pleasant drive to the airport.
I highly recommend this hotel.
- paulsS4196MK (8/5): 2 night stay - Stayed for two nights when on a business trip. Good location, spotlessly clean, excellent service, continental breakfast included, extra for eggs etc. Good value for Seychelles, air con, bath & shower in our room. Nothing to fault, except it would be nice to have an international news channel on the t.v.
- NikolaiSO (10/5): A home away from home - I can not praise this hotel, and especially its manager, mr. Roland Rasool, enough!
I arrived at Mahe with a flight from Mauritius, and because of unforseen events that led to me loosing both my credit cards and my cell phone I had been unable to book a place to stay before arriving at Seychelles International Airport. Now keep in mind that the policy for entry to the Seychelles dictates that you need to have booked a place to stay in advance, but since i had little options i decided to wing it. Luckily for me I met mr. Rasool just as we were about to disembark from the airplane. I had a short chat with him and was able to mention that i was in need of a place to stay. He offered me a room without blinking and told me that everything was going to work out.
Now, because I didn't have any formal reservations getting through customs became a trial. Luckily for me Roland is a man of integrity and he kept his word. The custom made one phone call to Hotel Bel Air, and my situation quickly resolved. If it had not been for Roland, I would probably been forced to cancel my trip and head back home a lot sooner than I planned. On top of this he also gave me an exceptionally good deal.
Now, when it comes to Hotel Bel Air itself I have absolutely no complaints. It was, hands down, the best hotel i stayed at during my entire three months of travelling, and both Roland and the rest of the staff made it feel like a home away from home. I will recommend staying at Hotel Bell Air to anyone, whether you are travelling solo or with your entire family. The rooms are fantastic, the food is great and the service is unmatched!
Thank you again for the save, and the pleasant atmosphere and company.
- 773ianw (8/5): Almost home-from-home - Though called a hotel the Bel Air, with just 7 rooms, has the relaxed atmosphere of a guest house. Florence keeps the rooms immaculate; Teo is always around to help your stay go smoothly. Walking into Victoria is easy, but I needed a taxi to get back - up the hill! However, the taxi is cheap. Otherwise I used the buses to get round the island: 25p
per journey, to anywhere! The hotel does not have a pool; but who needs one, with so many glorious beaches? And anyway, I don't think this is an ideal hotel/location to take a family to. The Bel Air had everything I needed, to make my visit to the Seychelles really wonderful. Just one warning: best not drink the tap water.
- MthlMjd (10/5): Clean and friendly place to stay - recommended - Have been to stay at Hotel Bel Air four times over the last three years for business. In August 2014, I was very impressed by the beautiful renovations which had taken place since my last visit in 2012. Roland, Natasha and family are warm and friendly, and always happy to help. It was a lovely place to return to after work and meetings all day, and the view of the harbour from the balcony is a plus. In the weekend, we were able to walk to town quickly (to make the most of souvenirs and fruit at the market). We hired a car from Roland for business meetings and swims at Beau Vallon (10min drive over the hill).
Breakfast is a plus - fresh fruit, toast, eggs, coffee/tea, juice... Perfect start to the day.
Hotel Bel Air is a great place to stay near Victoria when in Seychelles. Great, friendly service and lovely airy rooms.
Looking forward to being able to visit again!
- aletokyo (2/5): Experience to forget - Despite the fact that the room had been booked and paid months ahead, when we arrive it was already occupied by somebody else and no other rooms were available. The owner was very rude, making up reasons that didn't make any sense. For him it was "our fault". At the end we had to stay in a guest house far away from Victoria, much cheaper then Bel Air. Stay away from this place!
- VD559 (10/5): lovely hotel..... - Went to Seychelles for a 4 days business trip and had the hotel booked by a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated and comfortable setting. Lovely upstairs balcony overlooking Victoria and the harbor was the best place to be after a full day in meetings and site visits. The hotel is conveniently located only 10 mins walk from the city centre. The service offered by Mr Roland was great!!!...make us feel comforable...always ready to assist us. Breakfast was sufficient for a good start of the day..all reasonable facilities were available in the room. Perhaps a few more channels would have helped but not essential. Roland mentioned about improving the internet access.
- MRCottrell (8/5): Nice wood trim and exceptional service - Upon arrival to Bel Air guesthouse, I realized I had the wrong set of bills to pay my taxi driver (they never seem to have change, do they, despite being end of the day). Roland came out and paid the driver, saying we could settle up later- that was great service! guesthouse is great, renovated and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate; hot water, cold A/C, water bottles upon request, all needed keys for late arrivals. Although not walking distance to any decent beach (Beau Valon is up over the hill) I did get a nice jog in along the pleasant streets of Victoria- will certainly stay here again! Thanks Roland and Natasha!
