- Ebbings (10/5): - We've stayed there several times in the past and the price has remained affordable. The proprietars know us well and are always very accommodating. The location is in close proximity to our destination. Road noise from passing trucks.
- Lucky (10/5): - Everything was good from booking in to leaving was exhausted waa getting late last minute book in cheap price Very clean warm relaxing room with a Stunning country view in the morning, Highly recommended, Def will stay again next time im back from Christchurch heading up to see Whanau..
- Angela (9/5): I stayed for one night and it was perfect. Thank you for making me feel welcome - Very friendly staff.
Clean and tidy.
Welcoming It’s close to the highway, so one can hear trucks and train thundering passed.
- Lonie (9/5): - Only 25 minutes from Ongahue and beginning of the Timber Trail.
Warm & comfortable and the vehicles were right by the door & under covered Frosty morning!!!!
- Helena (9/5): - Heater on, t.v going ,lights on and met by staff ,Jenny, when we arrived.🙂 Hairdryer absent, but possibly due to people stealing them in the past. Not a biggie.
- andrew (8/5): just what i wanted - value for money location is by a busy rd and maintrunck train line so there was traffic noise but not a problem
Suggest management t look at thermostat setting on hot water cylinder as it was quite hot
They may be able to make savings here
- Rochelle (10/5): Amazing - The staff are absolutely amazing, always clean and tidy. I will always come back to stay here while I visit taumarunui
- Seilena (10/5): Great hosts with nice warm rooms. - Great hosts and lovely warm rooms. The road noise, but was aware of that when booking as is on the main trunk line so not a big issue.
- Akash (10/5): - The host . She is so nice and accommodating and the rooms are spacious and beautiful and price is also very affordable
- amelie (7/5): As pictured/described. - Friendly lady at the reception. Covered parking spot right at your room door. Lot of space. We stayed 2 nights. We wanted something close to the road while on a road-trip. So we did get what we paid for. A bit outdated (but everything worked), noise from the road (to be expected). Middle of nowhere. That’s being said, it does look like the pictures so no big surprise here.
- Robert (7/5): Pleasant - Staff Bit noisy
- Collette (7/5): Clean, comfy and value for money - Location great clean comfy and value for money.
- Wai (1/5): - The manager ruins what could be an acceptable place to stay. She is completely unprofessional. After abusing us for taking 4 plates off site, which I had offered to pay for, she began to systematically start complaining about nonsensical things. She also discussed us with other contractors on site. Her behaviour became so belligerent, we left a day early, (paid for), and she still continued to complain with rude texts. We have spoken to locals who advised us she has a terrible reputation. We will not be back..
- Helena (8/5): - pleasant accommodating staff Not there long enough
- Miss (9/5): It's okay. The Staff is Good - The prices are pretty cheap, the Manager is Lovely and Attentive. If you're looking for a quiet place to rest this is not the spot to be, loud traffic and trains, and vibration from the road. Very noisy
- Racheal (10/5): -
- Ebbings (10/5): Warm, welcoming, safe and cosy. - We've stayed here several times over the past few years, the staff are very accomodating and their prices are very reasonable. The location is close to family and friends. The weather and noisy main road. Views of the countryside is a good distraction. 😍
- Sean (8/5): - Good value for money motel that suited our needs well. Owner was helpful and supportive. The place is a bit dated but is in the process of being renovated. It was clean and warm and the kitchen facilities wer all good.
- Colshae (9/5): -
- HONG (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Easy access to the site and great parking. Nothing it was all excellent
- Ricky (9/5): Awesome - Was Great basic set up. The train tracks opposite the motel
- Gary (5/5): - Location good. Noisy
- Greg (8/5): Great spot for a one night stay with a lovely view. - Lovely big two bedroom upstairs unit with a wonderful rural outlook. Full kitchen and large living room with two couches. Full dining table. Great shower. Older style decor but very comfortable. The motel is very close to the highway and the whole unit shook whenever a truck went passed - felt like an earthquake starting!!
- Michael (5/5): -
- Chris (1/5): My daughter and her family have stayed there before but will never again - My daughter and family had a sudden family funeral to attend in Taumaranui so I booked this for them to help them out When they got to Taumaranui they found they were expected to stay on the Marae
I let the lady at the Mahoe Motel k ow that they would not be coming and asked for a refund
She replied No Refunds

- Michelle (8/5): Good location just outside of main town. Great staff and nice place to stay. Reasonable prices. - Great stay as usual. Room is noisy but motel is on busy main road so I don't mind. Location is main reason I choose this hotel. Friendly, great staff. No nice place to sit outside. Is noisy but only because on a main road which is to be expected.

- Jules (6/5): -
- Cayla (10/5): -

- Kevin (7/5): - Comfortable bed. Enough facilities to use. Noisy road. The tv and heatpump were in the wrong place.
Don't leave the light on in the bathroom for too long. insects.
- Fiona (4/5): - Right next to the State Highway. Very noisy
- Neil (7/5): -
- Colleen (8/5): Stayed for a outing - The owner, was very helpful Just to old
- Cath (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, friendly
- Paul (4/5): - Trains and trucks throughout the night.
- Nicole (8/5): - Beds were very comfortable and was very clean. Was run down, but very clean considering.
- Colleen (5/5): - It had everything we needed on one level Cob webs in corners, on SH 4 right by the road, trucks travelling all night.
- ADDO721 (8/5): -
- Jeffrey (6/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - Manager was extremely helpful, responsive, friendly and offered advice about the local area Very noisy from passing traffic for someone accustomed to quiet sleeping places
- Krischka (3/5): -
- gray (2/5): - The staff were awesome. The sheets were clean. The kitchen was clean. The room is very dated and run down. Needs fresh coat of paint, new carpet etc.
It had a smell like someone had been smoking in there. Paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom etc.
- Jan (5/5): - Location
- Diane (8/5): - Price Close to road
- Richard (6/5): -
- Brooke (9/5): Good stay, would stay again - Spacious N/a

- Bill (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Roslyn (8/5): Friendly staff, rooms clean an.comfortable, great price - Bit noisy due to being near the rd but no biggie,we enjoyed our stay
- Georgina (10/5): Jenny was incredibly hospitable, making sure guests have a great and comfortable stay. - We arrived after regular check-in time, yet Jenny was there to check on us. She even put the heater on (as it was unusually cold) before we arrived. Coming into a heated room is such bliss, especially when everyone was tired and out on the chilly weather. n/a
- Margaret (9/5): - Views from the window The noisy trucks on the road
- Carla (9/5): Very good - Algood Nothing
- JUAN (7/5): Sencillo y practico.
- Marion (8/5): - Comfortable clean and friendly
- Peter (6/5): -
- Phil (8/5): Friendly staff and value for money - The motel manager was very friendly and obliging.
The room was very spacious and comfortable.
Space for the car close to the unit and clear of other cars so no unwelcome dents. I was surprised at the amount of traffic going past on this highway.
- Max (9/5): -
- Susan (5/5): Very noisy as by main road - Spacious room especially as we were upgraded. Our daughter had a decent size smaller room.
It was a good base to drive to Tongariro National Park. Our hostess was helpful and friendly and directed us to the launderette as no facilities on site. We had enough pans for cooking. It was very noisy due to the traffic especially the trucks. Also freight trains rumbling through at times. The place really needed updating and was a bit shabby. The sliding door to the bathroom was very noisy to open and close and tended to bang against the wall. Lack of cooking utensils.
Our daughter's room had mould and paint peeling in the bathroom.
- Maraike (6/5): For one night it was a pleasant stay but could do with a bit of maintanance - Had a small kitchen and a cute little table to eat on There was quite a bit of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and unfortunatley the road kept being quite busy at night with big trucks going past.
- Summa (5/5): - It was clean, good hot water pressure It was very old and run down, loud with trucks shaking building, the cemetry across road made it bit creepy, tv wouldnt work.
- Karyn (6/5): - My pillow looked dirty and had hair on it I dont think it had been washed from the last guest. Lucky I had my own pillow.
- Florencia Ernestina (8/5): Perfect for one night along the way... - It was just what we needed for one night and leaving the next morning.
- Rochelle (10/5): Amazing stay, beautiful hosts - Loved the staff and communication
- Ross (7/5): Great price, nice easy and comfy stay. - Tidy, simple accommodation.
We booked a family room and it came with plenty of spare beds, though my wife and I only used one.
Really good communication, helped us when our arrival was delayed, responsive to a microwave button that was stuck.
Easy parking and a peaceful country vibe. Be aware that this is next to the main road, so there will be trucks and trains passing by.
I'm usually pretty sensitive to noise but the traffic didn't end up bothering me. Country location means its far from other noise.
- Hector (7/5): A convenient motel but need to put up with traffic noise - Conveniently located and in proximity to Taumarunui Situated next to main road and can have some traffic noice with big trucks
- Lavauzelle (8/5): - Super clean and calm. We stayed just one night but everything was perfect
- Joan (8/5): - Comfy bed.Homely.Friendly hostess. Shower head.
- Mconie (1/5): - We didn't stay... Booking.com said speak to the owner... Owner said speak to Booking.com...
- Mark (8/5): -
- Elise (10/5): wonderful - friendly, clean, great motel.
- Rachael (8/5): -
- Craig (7/5): Very pleasant staff pity the resturant was closed especially being a long week end. - Convenient for our needs The Restaurant was closed and we had to go to the Supermarket.
The Tv in an unusual spot on the wall and hard to see from bed
- Kathy (1/5): Miserable - Would not stay here again if they paid me.
Sleep was an impossibility - between thundering trucks sounding like they were driving past the foot of your bed, cars, freight trains and drunk people coming in late at night yelling outside the door - no sleep was possible. Would not stay here again if they paid me.

- Ge (7/5): -
- Robert (7/5): Tauramanui stay - Removed from town, pretty quiet while we were there, roomy also.
Few people mention traffic noise, yeah it's by the road but didn't find it an issue, at least for us.
Older facility with great rural views.
Bed comfortable. Probably fairly described as getting abit run down.
Unfortunately the pillows should have been put on a bonfire on Guy Fawkes night. Owner did supply us with some extra pillowcases.
