- Olaf (9/5): Very good location at Chobe/ Sambesi - Coming from more expensive lodges it was on the first view a bit more like a family driven campsite ( public areas) Not to misunderstood: The nice staff was very professional and caring. We had the house with an attached room (10,11). That was a huge appartment, fully equipped and with a private terrace 10 m from the river. Perfect for a longer stay. The meals were simple ( no chichi) but very tasty, two choices of each course. We did Vic as a private tour and boat within a group. Very fair prices of rooms, meals and drives. We missed the lounge chairs on the private terrace. The communication about the organisation of the drives could possibly be improved.

The setting is idyllic and with Shingi, Sofia and the rest of the lovely team, taking care of every transfer and activity for us, we felt that we were in safe hands from the moment we arrived. This was especially important to us on our first Safari holiday. The game drives were excellent, meals were delicious and our room was very comfortable. Highly recommended! Nothing to dislike.

- Marcel (9/5): Toller kurzer Aufenthalt zum Ankommen und entspannen. - Tolle Zimmer mit allem was man braucht. Super Aussicht auf den Fluss. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und flexibel. Konnten schon früh in unser Zimmer und mussten so das Gepäck nicht zwischenlagern.

- Bettina (7/5): - Die Lage am Fluss war toll und die Poolarea wurde neu renoviert. Die Zimmer waren schön aber einfach eingerichtet. Nachmittags wurde ein kleines Büfett angeboten was sehr lecker war. Am Abend sollte man dort essen, da in der näheren Umgebung kein Restaurant zu finden war. Die Ausflüge waren toll und ich würde diese im voraus reservieren. Egal ob Gamedrive oder Bootsausflug. Das Bad war sehr eng und die Handtücher rochen fürchterlich.

- Claire (9/5): Delightful stay in a well kept lodge with knowledgeable staff - From arrival the staff were exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable. They helped us arrange transfers. They were very organised with activities and we did a morning game drive. Common areas were clean with lots of different areas to sit. The pool was refreshing and area was recently refurbished. The family chalet was well appointed and very clean. Each day cakes and cookies were freshly made, the ginger biscuits were delicious! As with most lodges there is limited choices for dinner but what’s provided is homemade and tasty

- linett (1/5): Disgusting customer service. Book at your own risk. - The property is quiet The staff especially the supervisor Shingi , not very warm or friendly. She comes out to talk to guests with a face like a slapped arse, frowns at guests and pulls faces. Poor customer service and her mannerism is disgusting towards guests. She probably needs to know us guests are not her kids , cats neither are we her dogs that she pulls faces at while talking to. She should frown at her kids not us guests. Very disgusting the way she welcomes and speaks to guests. I did point this out to the lady owner . The lodge may be lovely but once guests receive poor customer service from the staff this spoils the whole stay . Good mannerisms create good vibes and the best memories. Shingi you need to improve on your customer service skills and mannerisms. Don’t speak to customers as if they’re a piece of sh*t pulling faces at them. Book this lodge at your own risk knowing you will not receive a warm welcome, the staff are not friendly and you will be spoken to in a disgusting manner.
- Caroline (10/5): Excellent home comforts in relaxed surroundings - We were a family group of 7 stating 3 nights . The rooms were very spacious and overlooking beautiful views . The warm welcome of the staff , the availability of tea / coffee and homemade biscuits ( ginger ones amazing) and the unexpected free lunch , all home made food was delicious. We availed of the afternoon river cruise , the full day game drive with John , who was an outstanding guide and stopped with fantastic picnic lunch . We also did two 5am morning drives to try catch big cat ( we missed leopards on day one !) the evening menu while limited was absolutely delicious and home cooked food , totally suitable for vegetarians too and even making gluten free bread loaf fresh for me every day! Highly recommend, I believe they are going to put small fridge in rooms which was only thing missing . Just maybe a fridge and perhaps decking tired looking .
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional customer service, excellent dinners and value for money and perfect location on the shores of the River Chob - Customer service was exceptional with staff going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. Our flight was significantly delayed and we were allowed to remain in the room and have a relaxing afternoon at the hotel. The game drives were great but would have preferred 5am starts to catch more wildlife early.

The food was also very good. I like the option of adding on activities rather than the traditional safari all-inclusive as it allowed more time to relax. No complaints!

The beds were comfortable.We booked the half day game drive with them and really enjoyed everything. Our driver John was very kind and set up a lovely bush breakfast for us. The ala carte dinner was amazing.The room have a beautiful view of Chobe river. The bottom less tea and cookies were a plus for us abd our kuds. I would rebook this property over and over again. - Alexander (10/5): Ein tolles Erlebnis in einer unglaublichen Umgebung. - Das Personal, die Lage direkt am Chobe River bzw. nicht weit vom Chobe River Nationalpark waren überragend. Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, und das abendliche Dinner war perfekt. Das Dinner und die Touren (Boot und Safari) in den Park hatten ein super Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Insgesamt ist es schon eine nicht ganz günstige Unterkunft, auch wenn wir verhältnismäßig lange dort waren.

The staff were friendly and helpful and it was great to have the home comforts after a dusty, bumpy 9 night mobile safari! A little oasis! Nothing really. A slightly broader evening meal menu would have been nice but the options available were fine.

- Lisa (8/5): Comfortable lodge in Kasane - The hotel was well-situated on the river in Kasane. A good base for trips into the Chobe National Park. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the small pool and the meals provided. We also joined the morning game drive and a sunset boat cruise into Chobe, which were both good tours.

- Olena (10/5): Enjoyed our stay, will return when in Kazungula or Kasane - Very close to Kazungula border. The lodge arranged a transfer for us, which went very smoothly. The lounge and the area around the swimming pool is beautiful, with a nice view over the river and plenty of spaces to sit and relax. Our room and bathroom were big, well equipped and nicely decorated. Staff are very friendly and always around to help at the bar, with breakfast or dinner. Dinner at the lodge was delicious. E’ semplice, non di lusso L’escursione prenotata tramite loro è stata eccessivamente costosa. - Peter (8/5): ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt - Der Check in verlief sehr schnell und effizient. Es gab direkt eine Menge brauchbarer Hinweise. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet mit AC, großem Safe und einer überdachten Terrasse. Das Bad war ausreichend groß und hatte Tageslicht. Mittags gab es für die Gäste ein kostenloses Mittagessen. Das Frühstück wurde in Buffetform serviert, Eier konnten dazu bestellt werden. Das Abendessen wurde als drei Gänge Menü für alle Gäste gleichzeitig serviert, es war schön angerichtet, lecker und ausreichend. Kostenlose Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Das Hotel bietet ein Bootsfahrt im Grenzgebiet zu Namibia an. Diese startet am Nachmittag und endet kurz nach Sonnenuntergang. Hierzu kann man sich im Hotel Getränke bestellen, die werden dann während des Sonnenuntergangs als Sundowner serviert. Die Tierwelt während dieser Tour ist fantastisch. da war nichts
- Christoph (8/5): Satisfying overnight stay - Right at the river with a nice garden and pool, rooms have air conditioning and are of good size. Kasane/Chobe is one of the best spots to start the tour of the Chobe park. The hotel is quite far from the park, so the ride to the drives and the boat tour is roughly 30m (or a bit less). I did not like that the hotel is using a huge truck for the guided tours, personally like the trips with the smaller defenders or land cruisers much better. Chobe/Kasane is simply not the most interesting town, however what counts is the access to the park.

Ottima la crociera sul fiume. sono rimasta delusa dagli spazi dedicati alla pausa pranzo o cena e dalle pietanze, veramente scarse. la piscina è una piccola vasca con acqua non pulita, poco invitante per un bagno. Dalle foto sembra una struttura più grande e più elegante.
- Zingg (7/5): Très bon séjour, piscine a ameliorer - La chambre était très grande avec une superbe salle de bain. Le dinner était sous forme d'un BBQ open air, très sympa ! L'eau de la piscine était trouble un problème de nettoyage? Les planches autour de la piscine sont endommagées et leur fixation est rouillée. Ce sol a besoin d'être rénové pour und lodge de ce standing.

- Pau (8/5): Buena ubicación, personal amable un poco caro - Muy buena ubicación, personal muy simpatico Las cortinas no son oscuras y dejan la luz abierta de afuera, por lo que entra luz en la habitación. Lo encontre un poco caro. La comida buena, pero cenas en mesas con desconocidos y casi sin luz. Eso no me gusto

- Anja (8/5): River View Lodge review - The staff were wonderful, the location, while a little further from Chobe, was quiet and relaxing. The lodge provided really good value for money and the staff go beyond to ensure a great stay. The game rangers, particularly John, were extremely knowledgable and ensured fantastic game drives and river cruises. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! The only negative, and it's not really a negative, is that with children it would have been more convenient to have a restaurant with a wider food selection. I do understand that given the smaller nature of the lodge this might prove challenging. But the Lodge did understand this and offered to order in food from nearby restaurants that offer delivery services, which I thought was very thoughtful.

Food was simple and tasty, not mass produced like some of the larger hotels. Special mention to John who took the game drives for going above and beyond to show us as much as possible The pool deck could do with an upgrade

- Norbert (10/5): 3 nights at River View Lodge - We stayed 3 nights at the River View Lodge. Sofia and her team run the lodge with lot of love and commitment, we always got tips and help for our questions. The guides for the game drives and the boat cruise are doing a great job as well, we enjoyed it so much. We went each day on the boat cruise, there is always to see something different and the sunset is just amazing at the Chobe river. We loved it to stay at the lodge and can recommend it 100%. The organized transfer to and back from the Victoria Falls worked very well, the driver helps with the paper work at the border, we were dropped of at the hotel in Vicfalls, we stayed there for one night. Meanwhile we could leave safely our rental at the lodge. Nothing

- Barbara (8/5): A comfortable place to stay for a few days inbetween travels - We stayed for 2 nights in a Deluxe Double Chalet with its own private deck and a view of the Chobe River. The room was large with a small table, 2 comfortable chairs, a desk, comfortable bed, etc. Breakfast and a small lunch were included with the room. Dinner was extra and must be booked ahead of time. The food was very good. The location is not central to Kasane and requires transport to town if you want to shop or dine elsewhere. The lodge will book activities in the area. The lodge booked a reasonably priced transfer for us to Victoria Falls. We thought the price of the room was a little high, but may reflect the higher pricing in Botswana. The room was perfect, but we found that the staff was not as attentive and friendly as in other lodges where we have stayed.
- Diane (8/5): Quiet & clean but basic - The property is relaxing and the rooms big. I was surprised to find they give out a free light lunch. It’s no where near walking distance to any shops but on the river. This sounds crazy but the metal door stopper on the floor for the front door is right in the middle of the floor where you walk to make coffee/tea etc. I kept kicking my toes on it. Quite a basic property for the money.

- Andrew (10/5): - Amazing 3 nights at this hotel. Firstly greeted by Shingi at reception who told us everything we needed to know, and also pre-booked transfers for us by e mail in advance. Rooms are really nice, comfortable & clean. Showers are great considering the location. Communal dining in the evening is a great way to meet new friends and share experiences. Breakfast was included after the game drive , dinner was extra but very good value. Both the Game Drive & Boat Cruise are amazing and a great opportunity to see Lions, Elephants, Hippo, Buffalo , Crocs & Giraffe. You will not believe how close the guide (thank you Mathew) will get you. In summary, this was an excellent lodge and exceptionally pleased we chose this place.

Everyone was so friendly and it made our stay absolutely perfect. Service was also 10 out of 10! To all the staff at River View Lodge, don't change a thing in how you do things or treat your guests. You are already doing what ever lodge and hotel around the world should be doing. You were a very big part of what made our trip to Botswana so special and we will always remember you. Before we arrived we were worried about where we would eat every night and didn't want to be stuck having to eating at the lodge if the food wasn't good. We were so impressed with the chef's food the first night we didn't even consider trying to leave the property for food. Every day we were very impressed with the food offerings and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit to Botswana. Absolutely delicious food at the lodge! The chef and baker are exceptionally good at what they do! Lastly, we want to thank the other person that made our safari trip in Botswana a 10/10 experience. Matthews is an exceptionally knowledgeable guide and we loved exploring the park with him everyday. Matthews, thank you so much for the incredible memories you have given us! Every day that passed we enjoyed our game drives and sunset cruises with you more and more! For a smaller lodge with a more intimate experience don't hesitate to book your stay at River View Lodge.

- Pauline (8/5): It was adequate for filling in the extra time we had in Kasane before going on to our next location. - Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Food was good. The Lodge is a little far out of Kasane so it means quite a long drive to get to the National Park and our experience of that was not good. I don't think the lodge had enough staff to fulfil the trip we had requested so had brought in a tour vehicle from another lodge and the driver was not very good at all. Most of the animal spotting was done by us and he also drove a little fast .
