On the other hand the bath was huge so didnt really have an issue about the shower! The must have been a leak at some point as you could still see the stains on the ceilings. The trip was made even better by the lovely weather so we got full use of the hotel’s fabulous outdoor pool which was lovely so clean and warm too. All in all we had a great stay

- Martin (10/5): Outstanding remote hotel - This place is absolutely amazing!! Booked here in December 2023 for a little celebratory winter break with my wife. Upon arrival the customer service was outstanding and we was allocated our room in one of the wings which was comfy, Spacious and charming. The food both for dinner and breakfast was simply fantastic and not overly priced. We can’t wait to return for longer to have a really good explore.

- Alison (10/5): Stunning Hotel - Saltmarshe is one of the nicest hotels that I have stopped in the room was beautifully decorated the staff were very friendly and the grounds were stunning. Breakfast we had a good choice cooked breakfast was amazing. No negatives just our room was a little hot and a fan would of been nice to have in the room but it did not spoil our time and we are thinking of going back soon.

Only negative was no aircon or fans in room when staying during hot summer nights as room was too hot to sleep in. Area around location not much going on which is perfect for a relaxing retreat or those wishing to get away from it all. Luckily we landed on a night where food was served at evening time and that experience was top notch, especially for the amazing price and qulaity !

- adrian (10/5): saltmarshe wow! - ive stayed in family rooms that say they are suites....but this one actually was....stayed in the howdenshire suite and would class this as one of the best rooms my family and i have stayed in....beautiful large clean and luxurious!
- gmurray (8/5): Overnight stay. - Lovely grounds,friendly staff. Rooms very clean.It seems they are short staffed as there was no one to serve in the bar. No way to contact reception from room even though it states room service available. Had afternoon tea which was very nice. Just a personal observation, the hotel management could give the orchard apples away somehow rather than letting them rot. They were very sweet and juicy.

The original room was quite small with a poor view so we were delighted with the larger room with a view over the gardens. We had afternoon tea with friends - served in the garden and very enjoyable. Service was pleasant but variable. There was only one member of staff at breakfast so service was slow. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed our stay but overall I would say it wasn't quite as good as we expected - nothing specifically 'bad' but not amazing either!
- Oliver (10/5): Strongly recommended for a family break - We had a fantastic 2-day stay at Saltmarshe Hall in June 2021. The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. The garden is absolutely beautiful and contains an outdoor pool. We ate in the hotel restaurant and had some delicious food.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is lovely. The room comfortable but so hot. No aircon or fan in the room so sash window left open although it was pouring with rain. The bar was expensive and at times we had difficulty finding staff to serve as they were busy doing other jobs too! We were disappointed that the bar was closing at 11pm when we had been told midnight. We are middle aged friends who only see each other rarely, and would liked to have been able to carry on drinking and talking after our dinner, especially as 8 of us were staying there!

The bedrooms are magnificent; newly refurbished and to a very high quality - but still with a 'classic' theme. The downstairs bar is a treat too! Outside there's much to explore, including the delightful 'jetty' by the Humber, and the beautifully maintained gardens. As a wedding venue it's simply superb too , especially with the brilliant team there - and the general staff couldn't be better. Oh, fantastic food as well! Dislikes? Nothing!

The room was clean and well presented and the bathroom was excellent. The Resturant was very cosy and the service courteous and prompt. All in all a very nice stay and i will book again, when i am up in the Google area.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful hotel at the Humber! We were lucky and got upgraded to the Saltmarshe Suite, a wonderful and spacious room. The Hall is in an extremely quiet area, perfect for relaxing after visiting busy cities... We even had dinner at the restaurant, good chef! All in all a very pleasent stay we can recommend to everyone.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing Stay - Middle of nowhere location but very relaxing country mansion and very friendly staff and lovely gardens. Great wifi and very quiet - I think they only have 7 guest rooms. Public rooms and guest rooms are all recently decorated but my bedroom had no aircon so the only option to cool the room is to have your window open and, as the Hall is surrounded by the Humber river and fields, this means flies and mossies! Dinner is available but they like you to pre-book as the person doing reception, bar and service is the same individual ! I don't know if it is a B and B thing but my bathroom was not 'serviced' each day - I left a towel on the floor to be changed and it was still there when I got home from work ! On another day I left empty shampoo and shower gel bottles in the sink and they were still there when I got back - but the receptionist/barman/waiter happily gave me some more toiletries. The bed was, however, remade each day. Overall its a great place for a few nights and I will probably stay again when I am working in that area again next month.

- Verified traveler (10/5): peaceful and relaxing - From the time we arrived, greeted by the estate manager,shown to our massive suite, till the time we left we had a really lovely time,dinner on the first night was of the highest quality,and the staff could not have been more helpful.There are breakfasts , and then there is Saltmarshe breakfast,freshly cooked, and of the highest quality.Close to the M62 ,and small villages, its the ideal location to explore this part of Yorkshire, we will be back.
