• MarySue (9/5): Nice place in a beautiful part of New Zealand. - What a lovely location. It's on a small farm up on a hill above the main road, so feels quite secluded. Rene and Marianne are very nice. Breakfasts were huge and delicious - truly farm to table. We enjoyed having the hot tub. And we got to enjoy Rene's pizza, also farm to table! I know this is a personal thing, but the bed and pillows were not very comfortable for me. Also, out of anyone's control, there were a LOT of bugs since it was very warm and we wanted the windows open.

Eine besondere Überraschung jeden Morgen war das fantastische, super leckere und sehr liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück. Auch die Ferienwohnung hat uns sehr gefallen. Alles sauber und sehr gemütlich. • Anne-Kathrin (10/5): Tolle ruhige Unterkunft zum Entspannen - Wir hatten einen traumhaften Aufenthalt im Golden Caves B&B. Renee und Marianne waren wunderbare Gastgeber. Zur Begrüßung erhielten wir leckeren Kuchen und auch am Abend fanden wir erneut Kuchen mit einem lieben Gruß vor unserem Zimmer vor. Die beiden Gastgeber waren sehr nett und gerne zu einem netten Gespräch bereit. Das Zimmer war super ausgestattet, außerdem war es bei dem heißen Wetter eine willkommene Abkühlung, sich nach dem Tag in den Außenpools zu entspannen. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls super lecker und reichhaltig und sehr liebevoll angerichtet. An einem Abend bestellen wir auch die angebotene Pizza, welche ebenfalls köstlich war. Wir können die Unterkunft jedem uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Vielen Dank nochmal! Alles war perfekt.

• Sven (10/5): Zeer hard aan te raden - Rene en Marianne doen je direct thuis voelen bij hen. De kamers en gemeenschappelijke delen zijn verzorgd en ruim. Wij hebben ook van de jacuzzi genoten! Het ontbijt is werkelijk schitterend! Heel verzorgd, alles zelf gemaakt en heerlijk!

Grandioses Frühstück mit frischen Zutaten und Produkten aus dem eigenen Anbau. Highlight unseres Aufenthalts war der beheizte Pool, zudem gab es auch die Möglichkeit, die Sauna zu benutzen und als Dinner selbstgemachte, leckere Pizza zu buchen. Wir würden sofort wiederkommen! • Christina (10/5): Farm mit Charme und liebevollen Gastgebern - Rene und Marianne waren großartige Gastgeber. Zur Begrüßung standen zwei Stücke Kuchen für uns da 🫶Die Unterkunft auf der Farm ist einfach herrlich. Wir konnten auf Nachfrage wegen des Regens früher einchecken und die Sauna und den Whirlpool genießen… es war einfach herrlich. Und dann bereitete uns René noch eine vorzügliche selbstgemachte Pizza zu, so dass wir nicht mehr in ein Restaurant fahren mussten. Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und konnten gut entspannen. Das Frühstück war der Hammer - die beiden sind so nett und liebevoll 🤗 und es gibt frische selbstgemachte Farmprodukte - ein Traum. Und da wir erwähnt hatten, dass wir die Reise eigentlich zur Silberhochzeit geplant hatten, hat René uns noch eine kleine Torte gebacken. So aufmerksam - tausend Dank und wir können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.
• Frank (10/5): Wonderful place to stay when visiting Abel Tasman and Takaka! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Both Rene and Marianne were friendly and helpful hosts. Rene created amazing breakfasts. Sooo delicious. The day after we left we wondered what the new guests were enjoying at breakfast time…wishing we could enjoy too! No other place we stayed could hold a candle to the breakfasts at Golden Cave!!! There were many amenities on the property including a wonderful hot tub, lap pool, sauna, patio, refrigerator for our travel snacks, comfy communal living space. They also have an aviary to entertain you as you sit in the living area or while wandering outside the property. We appreciated the time both Rene and Marianne spent with us to determine some of the best things to see and do in the area in addition to what we had planned. The bonus was when we arrived and returned for site seeing each day there was a delicious treat to enjoy…a slice of cake, cookies and once strawberry shortcake. All DELICIOUS!!! The stars at night were amazing! It was an issue we had throughout our travels…without screens on the windows we had a fair number of bugs come inside while we had the lights on in the evening. The driveway is a bit narrow (ample parking once up the hill) so we were glad we didn’t come nose to nose with other guests!

• Johann (10/5): Perfect accommodation for a visit of the nothern part of the Abel Tasman National Park and the Bay. - This is a phantastic accommodation. Rene and Marianne are perfect hosts on on a small farm, which is in fact a little paradise. `hard to believe that a previous lawer has been able to transform himself to a master of breakfast creations. Everthing on the table comes from the farm. Sauna and a large whirlpool are located in the garden behind a large aviary, so that one can enjoy privacy while sitting in the whirlpool and looking to the stars.

Completely organic/homemade with products from their land. Fresh fruits, juices, preserves, meat, veggies, eggs etc etc! We purchased Renes pizza for dinner. The best pizza we have ever eaten!! Outdoor hot tub (star gazing at night), sauna and jet swim pool, sun decks, bird aviary. Accommodations - private bed/bath, shared living room and dining room with lots of space and furniture, outdoor sun deck area with seating and tables. Brochures for areas of interest in Nelson. Rene's evening homemade evening snacks!! Nothing!!!

• Stephen (10/5): Highly recommended - A rural location on a working farmlet, albeit the property is quite close to SH60. Takaka is ten minutes away. Very comfortable accommodation with a large well equipped lounge. The barbecue and deck gave us a couple of enjoyable evenings. The hosts were excellent as too were the breakfasts which largely consisted of produce from their farmlet. If you enjoy outdoor spa baths and swims, there's a real bonus outside. Thank you to Rene and Marianne. Nothing of significance and anything there might be would be a very individual thing or preference.

I am not usually a huge fan of B & B's but due location, and experiences on offer, chose to give Golden Caves B & B a try. My husband and I had the most amazing experience and would highly recommend this B & B to all.

The comfort and space of the lounge, dining room and bedroom, meant that it was relaxing and very comfortable. It was lovely to wake up in the morning to the sound of birdsong. Both Rene and Marianne were friendly and warm in the way they welcomed us into their home, we also enjoyed the conversation. We enjoyed delicious food prepared for us at Breakfast.

We also very much enjoyed the farm tour. The hosts grow or raise everything they use in the delicious breakfasts on the farm! The BnB is a great base to explore Tākaka and surrounding beaches. Roots Bar is a great casual spot for a drink and dinner on the Main Street, about ten minutes away.

We immediately felt at home in the comfortable bedroom and cozy sitting area, both thoughtfully appointed. The B&B is situated in a quiet, bird-rich environment where we could fully relax. The delightful jacuzzi was a highlight of our stay. Moreover, Golden Cave served as an excellent base to explore the beautiful Golden Bay. • Andrew (10/5): Excellent hospitality and location.. - Fantastic hospitality from Rene and Marianne and lots of good advice on the local area. We used their knowledge to visit Wharariki Beach (google it), Cape Farewell and Waikoropupu Springs which we would have missed otherwise. The Abel Tasman National Park is also nearby. Delicious dutch pancakes for breakfast and comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. There's also a hot tub and optional sauna and jet swimming pool. Getting here is worth the trip on its own, there is awesome scenery on the way as well as everywhere you look, even the sunsets stand out (see photo).Thanks Rene for forwarding my phone charger which I forgot to pack.
