• Thijs (8/5): Goed adres! - Heel fijne accommodatie met een zeer vriendelijke host. Prima ontbijt en we hebben er een heerlijke boboti gegeten. Volgens booking.com is er een restaurant. Maar toen wij om 17:00u aankwamen, bleek dat wij vooraf hadden moeten aangeven dat wij er wilden eten. Misschien handig om dit vooraf even bij de gasten te melden.

She was wonderful in being kind and understanding when I was experiencing a bit of stress with regard to airport transfers for the next day. A kind and delightful soul. I did not have much interaction with the other staff. Kev was a truly lively and good host. Breakfast was great. Airport transfer organized and made the difference to the stay. Stress free night. Wir mussten sehr früh wieder abreisen und bekamen deshalb ein Lunchpaket mit auf den Weg, damit wir unser Frühstück auf dem Flughafen einnehmen konnten, super Service! Trotz der frühen Stunde half uns der Eigentümer bei der Abreise sogar noch beim Einladen des Gepäcks. -

Herman and Kevin were very welcoming and hospitable, my room was great and really comfortable and clean, breakfast was lovely. It's also in a very quiet neigbourhood. My flight wasn't until the afternoon so the hosts kindly let me stay and work in the lounge until it was time to leave, and provided tea! Everything was great, and there wasn't anything I didn't like. It would have been handy to be able to plug in a charger by the bed, but a very minor observation.

• RED ALERT TSS (8/5): Pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable - This is my second stay at Brookdale House. It is comfortable, clean and well-managed. It is also very convenient, being close to my Cape Town office. Herman is a great host, and makes everyone feel at home. Ther staff are friendly and efficient. I will definitely book Brookdale House again. The only negative, for me was that there was no remote for the air-con. It was very hot on our first night, and we were not able to use the air-con.

Eric and Herman were great hosts, and the breakfasts were very good. A shaving mirror in the bathroom would have been nice. There is no mirror above the basin in the bathroom, so when shaving I had to keep going backwards and forwards between the basin and the mirror. This was not a major hardship, just a bit inconvenient. Also, a fan in the bedroom would have helped. It was extremely hot in Cape Town. I know the booklet in the room said I could ask for one, but I feel one in each room would have been more convenient. Apart from those two small niggles, I enjoyed my stay at Brookdale house.

Even the owner came to me drunk in the evening and wanted to talk to me rubbish. I wasn’t feeling safe . They also discriminated the way they treated me. This person threatened me and took my video for irrelevant reason. So the matter went to near Police Station and this person had to apologized for such conduct. The place might look clean but people who cook breakfast not clean. Unclean handling of food . Also if you allergic to dogs don’t stay here , they lied and I found dogs hair on blanket

We had a hankering for fresh caught and cooked Kingklip and Kevin ensured our wish was his command 😉. Went on two tours organised by Herman, bespoke to us. Both tours were fantastic- Cape peninsula accessing beaches not covered by the commercial tours #muizenberg, #Scarborough, # mistycliffs, #simonstownharbour. Trip to Franchoek and the wine farms again superb 👌. Rickety Bridge was my favourite with the superb Harvest Platter for lunch. Even got a transfer back to the airport following our stay. Would definitely recommend and return. Nothing. Everything was great.

• Kwaramba (1/5): Bad - Look beautiful but all that glitters is not gold The couple are not used to seeing a black woman who is not their worker so we instantly clashed, they spoke down to me as if I was one of their employees and they didn't seem friendly to me yet greeted all their other guests. I also was never given a garage to park in yet people who arrived after me were given a remote control for a closed garage. Oh and while I was trying to check out I was told I am a runner.... someone who runs away from bills I suppose..... yet I never left any bill. I ran because of their obvious bias and racism.
