• jean louis (8/5): très bien globalement - l’accueil, le service, la gentillesse, le sourire et l’efficacité du personnel, la nourriture, très bonne, le cadre reposant (sauf quand travaux, voir ci-après), les bungalows bien agréables (2 de tailles différentes testés sur 3 nuits, le plus petit était en meilleur état), l’accès à la plage peu motivant, pas direct (il l’a peut-être été voici plusieurs années), le cordon de sable de la plage a diminué devant la puissance de l’océan (vagues et courants marins), l’ensemble est en cours d’empierrement, travaux bruyants en cours tôt le matin, les surveillants de plage trop restrictifs à partir du coucher du soleil lorsqu’on veut seulement se promener sur la plage, il nous a fallu négocier avec un des managers pour ne pas être suivis en permanence

• Ritesh (1/5): - Location Staff behaviours post check out Our travelling was scheduled at night and we have to checkout the room @ 10 once we did the checkout and post full payment behaviours of staff changed we are not expected this behaviours and treatment I frequent travel and travel lots , the kind of treatment I faced for the first time in this resort The worst feeling but I was in the city of MAHAPRABHU . HE SUPPORT US A LOT JAI JAGANNATH .

They didn’t allow cars to get closer. Offered a room with ocean view and only one room had view from their room. Not mine. I had to go to the terrace to see the ocean view

Very peaceful, close to nature and eco friendly resort. Food is tasty as well. Internet Connectivity is poor. But it’s good to be disconnected at times.

• Rajiv (8/5): Very good. - Very well located, almost on the beach. Problem is that the beach front is very small, possibly eroded over time. The sea is aggressive, so no swimming. The cottage is cosy, has all the basic amenities (no Wi-Fi). The breakfast spread is good. Staff is friendly and do not fish for tips. Seem genuine. The check out was a bit clumsy, I was charged for something I had not ordered in room service, they did take their time to sort that, had paid 50% advance for the room, which also they ignored, but sorted out. Possibly one of the best options in Konark. 20 minutes from the Sun Temple. Rooms are a bit small. Its an eco resort, but they have single use plastic in their rooms.

• Arun (5/5): Holiday by the sea. - The location..it is beyond this world..Resort is spot on the confluence of river and the sea with a panoramic 280 degree horizon in front. The behavior of every staff was so impressive.. rarely seen in most Indian properties. There is no motorable approach road to the hotel premises..one need to travel by a toto..from the approach road.,because there is a wooden bridge which is fragile and no vehicle can go over it. Though the staff makes all out effort to carry boarders and luggage in their dedicated toto, ( 3 wheeler electric auto rickshaw), it is serious handicap to approach..particularly at night, since road is not well lit and during rains. This deficiency must be stated in their site and booking.com must publish it. Secondly, resort is violating CRZ rules, being only 100 meters from sea side as against 500 meters as mandated by law..they are trying g to MANAGE this deficiency with authorities but it is illegal property as of now. Overall, property is very poor in terms of value for money and regretted having booked it this time.
• Jaba (10/5): Amazing stay though it was short - I was awe with the location sight. Definitely not expected while booking, as no where it mentioned that its next to back water. One can sit for hours in Restaurent looking at the water. The night had a high tide & the water was really hitting the shore. OMG. Also must add about the Electric Auto from the guest house to the parking. So much helpful. Special mention about Mr. Prabhudutta, an exceptional helpful person. Staffs are amazing.

• Subhojyoti Das (4/5): - Rooms- we had 2 rooms both smelled of mildew. The smell was so terrible that even room freshner didn’t help much. The toilet had a similar smell. The room was 12 feet by 10 feet in size approximately. With whatever furniture, there was room to move around. So the only option is to use for sleeping. The linens were torn and smelly and was just old. It had dark patches. The toilet has cotton towels which are equally poor quality and unclean. The restaurant in the property serve a mix of North Indian and sea food. The price of food is little steep but quality wasn’t good at all. All the food tasted the same and had a strong tandoor smell. The commute from Puri station is not easy. I got an Uber to the hotel which cost me 650 bucks. For return I got an auto from the main road which also cost 600. You gotta bargain hard. The area inside the property has a lot of trees which is a treat. The location and the view of the sea is unmatched. That’s really impressive. We roamed around the property by the sea for the most part of stay. If you are expecting a comfortable stay with a better property upkeep , I wouldn’t recommend this.

• Vijay (8/5): Had a wonderful and enjoyable stay - Location, Staff, the layout of the cottages which provided privacy. The Resort premise was clean and the staff appeared to be motivated and committed. There is NO ARRANGEMENT for commute between parking and cottage. My wife suffered a sprain in her ankle and she had to walk that 600-700 mtrs to reach the car. One day, one of the security staff gave her a lift in his motorcycle. I would have given outstanding points to the resort, had it not been for this inconvenience. You can imagine, how uncomfortable it will be for aged guests. THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED.
• Sidhartha (7/5): Good - The service is really good. Very good, professional and courteous staff. The breakfast spread was amazing. The actual place of stay or the cottages is too far from the main entrance or the parking area. Some mode of transport should be there to take the people at least till the reception area. Also the vehicle or the rickshaw used to load the luggage should be upgraded. The cottages were too small. Looking at the price, we expected it to be a little more spacious. The pool is there but the swimming costume is chargeable which is weird. And each time we take the swimming costume, we are charged separately. It should be included within the stay. Making it chargeable is like minting more money from the customers whereas the customers are already paying a hefty amount for their stay. The toiletries provided in the bathroom can be a little better.

Mr. Sunil , the manager took personal care and gave entire information on travel, sites and how and when to visit Mr. Niranjan the masterchef balanced the different types of meals including veg/non-veg and local odishi preparations so we did not feel monotonous during the stay Mr. Bhabhani, the restaurant superviser made comfortable arrangements for us every meal all along, except for the hot weather that was expected, we enjoyed the stay Plus pointa: location, friendly staff, clean resort, good pool, konark temple is very near
• Anuradha (5/5): ok ok - Check and in out process more choice if bread would be good. dosa could be served in fresh plates rather than sliding in used plates, Small spoons for gulab jamun were missing. the restaurant did not have STAPLE vanilla ice cream. cold coffee served with scoop of chocolate ice cream!! chocolate ice cream was cheap, not creamy had a medicinal smell. Every guest should be informed about the escort facility to the beach. Gravy panner was too spicy despite clear instructions of less spicy. Ultra Noisy door, we used oil to fix the note

• S.kumar (8/5): Good but a little annoying due to some drilling work in the resort vicinity. - The staff co-operation is nice. Also some of the sea food menu is excellent. The continuous drilling sound of the kumotshu machine in the vicinity of the resort was utterly irritating and annoying. Couldn't enjoy the serenity for which Lotus resort is known for. The niche value and the USP of this resort is the tranquility which got affected by the continuous work in its vicinity. The resort needs to take care to inform the guests in advance that some work would be going on at that point of time so that I could rescheduled my bookings.
