• Susan (5/5): The apartment was a bit disappointing - The property was clean and tidy and comfortable. The B&B upstairs looked really nice and would probably be great to stay in. I booked the apartment anticipating my husband would be able to celebrate his birthday on the balcony peacefully enjoying a beautiful view. This did not happen. The apartment had a sea view but this was over rooftops complete with 2 chimneys and a Sky dish which was not like the photos on Booking.com. There is a large highway at the bottom of the hill behind the building which meant the balcony was very noisy.

Sie hat glaube ich 4 Zimmer verfügbar in der Lodge die gebucht werden können. Sie fragte mich am Morgen schon was du am nächsten Morgen frühstücken möchtest und fragt auch oft wie es mir geht. Mega gastfreundlich! Ich habe mich mega gefreut hier zu sein! (Du fühlst dich wie zuhause und das ist so schön!) Dazu ist es noch sehr sauber und einfach sehr gut gepflegt das Haus. Ich werde es vermissen! Es gibt nichts.

I would especially like to highlight the host’s exceptional attentiveness. As someone who is lactose and gluten intolerant, I truly appreciated how she thoughtfully tailored the breakfast to suit my dietary needs. She also very kindly drove me to the Mangawhai Cliff Walk and to the bus station, as I was traveling without a car. Thank you very much for such a warm and generous stay!

Das Frühstück wurde mit viel Liebe von der Gastgeberin Janette zubereitet und war sehr gut!!! Die tolle Beach erreicht man in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto und lockt mit ausgedehnten Strandspaziergängen! Wir können „Mangawhai Lodge“ allen Reisenden BESTENS Weiterempfehlen!!!

• Louise (10/5): Fantastic Mangawhai B&B - Absolutely loved this place!! The Beachcomber room was so comfortable, even if it was the smaller room. Very smartly outfitted! Nightstands and lamps on each side of bed, plenty of outlets, place to put two suitcases plus a chair, shelf unit for items and hanging clothes. Pedestal sink had a 2-shelf unit next to it for toiletries. Very nice shower/toilet bathroom. Jeannette is an excellent host! She offered suggestions of things to see and places to eat. Even offered to do our laundry on our third evening! Delicious breakfast - continental or full hot breakfast and nice to talk to in the mornings! The view from our room was spectacular and really enjoyed that! Nice living room to hang out in during the evenings and with great views also. Nothing!

Wrap around balcony was a delight to sit out on and enjoy the stunning view. We had the Beachcomber room which was delightful! Comfortable, well equipped and homely. Small shower room with a sink in the main bedroom, perfectly adequate. Breakfast was continental by choice. Cooked breakfast was available to us, but we choose not to. Lovely selection of fruit, cereals and toast was exactly what we wanted. Jeanette is a great host and cannot do enough for you. Highly recommend this place for a short stay whilst visiting Mangawhai and the surrounding area. Nothing really!

• Amaryllis (10/5): Mangawhai Lodge is a great choice for a stay in one of the loveliest areas of New Zealand. - The lodge was a splendid place to stay on our wonderful trip to Mangawhai and the surrounding districts. Jeannette was friendly and helpful, and seemed happy to accommodate any requests and to offer local knowledge. The restaurant she recommended was great. The views from the lodge are gorgeous, and we enjoyed the breakfast. We liked everything.....one small thought would be that I found out on the day we left that there are beach chairs and a 'boogie board' that can be borrowed - it would have been handy to know that the day before.

• Bente_jamie (10/5): Wonderfull stay! Felt like we were staying with our new favourite aunty - We had a lovely stay at Mangawhai Lodge. It's located at the top of a hill and has outstanding views. Jeanette our host was absolutely lovely and made it feel like we were staying with family. Breakfast was fantastic and freshly cooked each day with the choice of continental with yummy fresh fruit salad as an added bonus or a eggs, bacon and such. The lodge is not right in town center, but it's a short 15 walk to get to the cafes and restaurants. It's also within 10 to 1 hour drive to many awesome experiences and places. So you can see beautiful beaches and go surfing near by, do walking routes and explore cliffs, forrest and waterfalls or even a little city life in Whangarei. Nothing

We stayed in the Skipper Room, and while the bathroom was across the hall, it was private and did not bother us. The wrap-around balcony offered lovely views of the bay, and we thoroughly enjoyed an evening tea with friends. The entire house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a cozy and homey atmosphere. Jeannette is an exceptional host who genuinely cares about her guests. She prepared a freshly cooked, excellent breakfast and shared plenty of helpful advice for our trip. Despite a rainy day, we managed to enjoy the Mangawhai Cliff Trail, conveniently located just a five-minute drive from the lodge. Highly recommended for its convenience, the host's exceptional hospitality, and overall comfort! Nothing.

• Emily (9/5): Great on sunny and rainy days! Would stay there again. - Depending on the unit you book, you will have a nice view of the ocean and the islands. The self-catering apartment we booked was sufficiently equipped, and we loved the French press coffee makers. Mangawhai is a sleepy town. There is not a lot of nightlife, but we were there for golf on good weather days and for museums on rainy days,. The location was a good fit for our stay.

• Paul (10/5): Beautiful place with great Customer service - This is a beautiful place to stay with stunning views across the bay if you book a balcony room. Jeanette was excellent and very helpful when our flight was considerably delayed so we didn't arrive until very late. The breakfasts were lovely with plenty of choice. A very nice old colonial style building and the room had tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. All in all I'd highly recommend staying here.
• Taua (10/5): Stay at Mangawhai Lodge - It was a very nice stay in the Lodge. Our manager was Jenette was helpful and kind and the room was immaculate. The view from our room was beautiful and morning breakfast was just right to start the day. Apart from the road works that was happening at the time of our stay it was recommended a good stay. Loved that the Lodge was close to a good walk to the beach and to shopping facilities.
