Guest Reviews
- ronger5 (8/5): Nice hotel in a great city - The hotel is located on the slopes of a hill overlooking Leh - nice location in a remote town. Although one should not expect Western-style hotels in this area, the staff is doing a great job at providing a pleasant stay in the hotel. Rooms are large and clean enough, dining is hearty and tasty and staff very friendly. Given the fact that there is lots to see in the region, I'd consider the Royal Palace as a good option.
- Yadlapati (10/5): Good Place to sty in LEH - Stayed at this place for 4 nights and 5 days between 16th May 2022 and 22nd May 2022 when we had been to LEH for a family Vacation. We were given rooms in the 2nd floor, Rom No 301, 302 and 303. This property has no Lift so it could be a bit difficult task for the elderly group. But all that difficulty was gone after entering the room. The rooms were clean and well kept. The linen was maintained well. The wash rooms were big and spacious and were well kept with hot water supply round the clock. Waking up to the sun kissed snow capped mountains with piping hot coffee was a great experience.
The staff were very responsive and the room service was good. Free unlimited Wifi was provided by the hotel with decent speeds. We were offered hot water bags for the nights. Room heaters were provided when asked for, though adequate warm blankets were provided you might need them during the nights.
Restaurant was good and served some really delicious food. Another drawback here is there is no local cuisine, they have their own explanation but including them in the menu would have been good for many guests who wanted to try them. The garden near the restaurant was colourful. Nice seating arrangements with a swing in the laws were present for those who wanted to bask in the sun. A retro moped in the backyard and an Ibex’s skull added to the style of this property. A nice covered sitting area was also present for those who wanted to enjoy in the shade. Overall it’s a good place to stay when in LEH.
- 123Anant (2/5): Hotel service - Hotel room was not clean at all need to pay attention to the services
Food quality very poor serve same food same taste
No hot water services
No basic service at food area have to wash hand in the toilet after having food
No proper communication between manager and ower faced lot of problems
Only tempo driver was good who took us to nubra and pangong lank
Charges are very high
No proper room service given to customer
Also behavior is very rude
Prefer not to waste money on this hotel instead go for other.
Only photos are good and that area is outside but from inside rooms are just like matchbox rooms no facility at all no fans available in the room
Please don't prefer this hotel
- BISHWAJIT (10/5): Worthwhile stay at Leh - Excellent in general, very helpful gentle, courteous staffs with very good service and facilities. Great location with view of snow clad mountains.
- Scenic820797 (8/5): Leh trip - Hotel Royal palace is the one the best hotels in leh .Great location it just walking Distance away from the main markets .friendly staff .Rooms are clean and have nice views .i was there from 2 september 2018 to 4september
- shahnawazwahid (10/5): A very nice and a very spacious hotel... - The hotel is very good. The staff is is quite friendly and polite. The service is great. The food is good. The WiFi network is not that good, but that's the case with the whole of Ladakh. The rooms are very spacious.
- harshhrz (8/5): Overall Good Experience - Our Stay at hotel was comfortable. Food was excellent. Wi-Fi is not working properly due connectivity issues. Over all good experience. Said review is about newly renovated rooms. One can choose this hotel as it is near to the Airport. Market is far from the hotel but Taxis are available for local visit.
- J811MHkiml (8/5): Great hotel! fantastic location - Our stay of 6nights at Hotel Royal Palace Leh was very comfortable, great location. Good food, well maintained overall. Hot water 24hrs. Quick laundry service. Wonderful snow clad mountain view from the rooms Helpful staff, Ali at the reception was very kind and efficient. Highly recommend staying here as the city area could get crowded. At the same time easy access to the market.
- Khalidshaikh (2/5): Worst Hotel - Worst hotel don't book, very cheap and average food daily same repeated breakfast and dinner. When we approach to hotel staff regarding food they are asking this is management call. Hotel water is major issue. My frind has book this hotel, he told me amount 37k but when I reached hotel owner surprised me cost of 40k very cheat and cheap. Also this hotel is far away from main Leh city. Their is much more hotels are available nearby main Leh city with good price and quality.
- ManojV503 (10/5): Great View & Nice Stay - Nice Hotel with flexible staff, good food and ambience. Hotel Owner is always ready for any type of assistance. Easy access from market, facility for permit and arrange tour program. Please stay and experience
- san293 (8/5): Great place on entering Leh town from the airport - Amazing sets of rooms, this hotel has a friendly and efficient staff. Food and restaurant are functional and whip up decent meals in short time. The compound within the hotel is nice, sunny and great to be surrounded by fruits bearing trees. Staff responsible for cleaning worked with clock work precision. Bathrooms in lower rooms were equipped with geysers ( Deluxe rooms). Runners who participate in Leh Marathon ( September) may find this hotel convenient due to its proximity to the start / finish point ( 500 meters). Leh market is uphill from this hotel and a brisk walk takes about half and hour to get there ( market).
- VMS0087 (10/5): beautifull view from room - i went hotel royal palace in the month of September 12th to 17th with my friends, it was great memorable trip. hotel was nice, cleaned, decent. Staff was very help full, Food was tasty, good location, & best part was wee got best room with beautiful view from our rooms. we recommend to other also when you travel please select this hotels.
- Trip_expert_166 (10/5): Exceptional Stay - Royal Palace hotel is a wonderful hotel ! We got a room on the third floor which was excellent in all aspects especially the view. The staff is wonderful and made an effort to give us everything we asked for - from a bottle of water to an extra pillow. We had breakfast included and we found the choices offered to be very good and satisfying. Food is made with effort and the staff is super amazing and helpful.
Zubair and his staff really did their best to accommodate all of our needs. From arranging taxis, trips to Nubra Valley and any question we had regarding the area. Wifi works well and hot water is available all the time. It was really important to us and the hotel didn't let us down. I can assure you that when we return to Leh we will definitely stay here, thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay such a great experience.
- dhvanin (2/5): Worst experience - Hotel hygiene standards are very low. They didn't change the towels or bedsheets of previous room occupants. When informed abt same to management they were not even sorry abt it. Worst experience of my life.
- Nathalie7077 (2/5): This place is a scam - I booked this hotel through Trip Advisor--when I showed up after an expensive taxi ride, the hotel claimed ignorance and refused to honor my reservation voucher, instead trying to charge 4x more than the rate showed. I had to find another ride into the downtown area, where I found a much better rate on a hotel room
- DebjitR14 (10/5): Hotel + Pangong/Nubra Tour - Room was on the roof top. Nice view of mountains. Good location in leh. close to market but isolated from main road. tour packages to Nubra and Pangong are very good. Food is good. Close to ATM and petrol station.
- WanderingSoul7 (2/5): Beware "Insecure environment and not worth staying" - We were excited for this trip towards Leh and selected this hotel for our stay but was a total disappointment. Check In was satisfactory but during stay the gestures of staff manager were violent/arrogant. He fell in argument with our chauffeur and threatened him ignoring the fact that families are standing next to him. When intervened, we got reply that losing a guest or two won't create difference. Shifted to another hotel who valued it's guests and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Leh(worth planning at least once in lifetime).
- KiranKBLR (6/5): Average hotel, decent food! - The hotel is close to the market but away from all the rush. It's not the luxurious places or in anyway different / unique. The food is decent and the hotel is accessible as it's closer to the main road (close to the prayer wheel on the circle/gas station). It more of a bed-n-breakfast place. Since we came from Pangong Tso, we'd missed luxury and this was a great experience compared to the life in the camps/tents - so it's all a comparison and a perspective!
- 163ganeshs (10/5): Best Hotel stayed ever- Do not miss this place if you're travel plan is LEH. - If you're looking to book a hotel for a leisurely stay in Leh, I would say Royal palace is the place you should be looking for.
Best rooms, beautiful environment inside the hotel, Food is the best you can get in Leh.
More than everything I was floored by hotel staffs hospitality.
Zubair is the hotel owner and he would also help you with your travel plans if in case you need it.
Rates are really nominal here and Zubair could give you much better deals based on the requirements.
- Thar4x4 (2/5): Average Hotel with Cheating Front Desk Staff - Beware Traveller's if you are booked or planning to book at this hotel. The front desk staff is very bad and can deny you a room any time, or can charge you triple the rate what they actually sell on. They are robbers in disguise . We had a very bad experience on Arrival. We were booked through booking.com and on Arrival the hotel denied us he room and said we do not accept reservation s from booking.com or any other online portal .We couldn't contact booking.com as the internet services are suspended by the government for most of the time in a year and only postpaid mobiles work. It is also very difficult to connect calls on the postpaid mobile as well. The rooms are average and most of them are old with wooden interiors and dark coloured curtains .
- 930aravindak (6/5): Leh'd in Leh - I travelled to Leh on an official trip during second week of August 2016. Though it may not be the best season for tourists but the weather was clear and travelling was very easy.
Hotel Royal palace is a average hotel to stay. While hotel looks and ambience is good but rooms are average. The restaurant is good but since buffet was arranged for us we fed up eating same type of food every day. The hotel is easily accessible as it is very near to main road.
The room cleaning service is pathetic, they just seem to superficially arrange things so as to look the room is cleaned.
Ventilation may be an issue for the ground floor rooms as opening windows is not a good option since environment is windy and dusty. Outside lawns and sitting place is good. Rooms are cozy and warm. But due to lack of ventilation stinks a little bit.
Bike rentals for siteseeing and Leh market is nearby... Walkable distance from hotel.
I advise the visitors who come by flights to be relaxed on first day to avoid high altitude sickness and headache.
